Full-Time Lead Developer
Job Description
The Mechanism, a forward-thinking and brand-focused digital agency founded in 2001 seeks a poised, exceptional LAMP lead developer. Comfortability with ExpressionEngine, WordPress, Drupal and other frameworks is a plus. This position is for an experienced developer who is comfortable with the full development cycle including writing specifications, choosing CMS platforms, and suggesting technical architectures. This position also lieutenants other programmers/HTML developers, as well as overseeing development standards and practices in the office.
Candidates should have:
- Experience building sophisticated framework-based Websites (CMS, membership, shopping carts, etc.).
- Agility with bespoke php/MySQL solutions.
- Ability to extend frameworks using open source tools.
- Understanding how to customize the client experience, leverage built-in CMS features and extending features where necessary.
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaboratively with management and clients about solutions, options, strategy, dependencies.
Required Skills:
- LAMP, JavaScript, extensive framework experience (CodeIgniter, Drupal, or other).
- Familiarity with version control systems (svn, git, etc), SSL, e-commerce, light server administration.
Good to have:
- Experience with ExpressionEngine (EE module writing), HTML5, jQuery, Ajax.
