About BabyMatcher:

BabyMatcher.com decided to start a babysitter matching service that would allow both sitters and parents to upload their information into our database. From there, it becomes easy, our database personally matches parent’s jobs with sitters skills based on the criteria they are looking for! Then, we simply deliver the top 5 individualized sitter matches to the parent’s email account they provide us. After that, it is up to the parents who they choose to call for an interview.

BabyMatcher.com allows you the convenience of eliminating your search for the right sitter or family you are looking for. Based off of your criteria, our database matches you with the family or sitters that meet your needs. You tell us what you are looking for, and our database narrows the results, saving you the time of having to search yourself.

  1. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on our home page. Is it immediately clear what the site is about?

As soon as I scrolled down and I read the word “Babysitting” it became clear to me that the website is about finding the right babysitter for the baby or child.

What do you find bothersome? What do you like?

The only thing I found bothersome was the fact that the “Steps” cannot be clicked on. They give the appearance that you can click on them to read more information. I like the layout of the website, I specially like the baby that was used as the background.

How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like care.com and sittercity.com?

I have surfed sittercity before and it seems to have an easier search engine tool for the parents. As far as I am concerned you do not need to pay upfront in order to join the website. This site seems to be less “smooth” than the competitors.

Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?

If it was a risk-free trial, yes, I would signup.

I like the fact that you can subscribe via facebook, twitter, etc. I believe there is too much pink on the website, it should be a bit more neutral to present boy and girls in general.

The Site Home page gives the insight that it is a site for parents to find appropriate baby sitters for their baby and for sitters who wants to get better opportunity for baby sitting jobs.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
After I navigate away from home page, am not able to come back to the home page from current page, say for ex: From the home page if I click Parents Get Started button and go to join now page. There is no link to get back to home page from join now page. That’s the only thing  I found bothersome.
The site has easy to follow steps that anyone can understand and the website has been designed with pink background and bubbles blowing up that gives a soft and tender feel to the site. This makes the site more pleasing for me.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like care.com and sittercity.com?
Parents should be given some special offers to view sitter results b’coz care.com provides sitter details for free and sittercity.com offers 7 day free sitter results. So competitors have more chance of attracting parents unless we consider providing special offers.
Babysitter.com is an exclusive site for baby sitting alone that makes our site unique from others cos other sites targets to pets, adults etc which makes the site more complicated and search oriented while our site has easy to go process.
Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?
Yes, if am given option to unsubscribe from the account any time and is risk free.

In the home page, more information links should be added under Child Care Tips & Tools topic. Parents Get Started and Sitters Get started button already takes it to join page so there is no need for another Get started button in the home page. Well otherwise, the site is quite easy to follow one and more understandable.

Not at first.  There is an awful lot on the on the homepage. There are buttons at the top of the page for parents and babysitters so that gave me a clue.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
What I found bothersome was how much was jammed into the home page.  It was like the page was trying to jump out of my monitor at me.  And other words, I felt like I needed to back up and look at the home page from a distance.  I did like the the babysitting tips that was in big letters on the page.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like care.com and sittercity.com?
As a mother, one of the first things the short time that I looked at the homepage was something referring to background checks but I didn’t see it.  Compared to the sites mentioned the question, it wouldn’t compare.  This site also doesn’t look at professional as the other sites.

Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?
No, I probably wouldn’t due to I didn’t see anything mentioning of background checks as I mentioned earlier and the site didn’t look professional enough.

Tame down the homepage.  Too much in it at first glance. Take some of the bubbles out and make easy to read tabs at the top of the page.  Add bullets of background checks, parent reviews and babysitter certifications of offered courses for the babysitters to the home page.  Add a tab for featured babysitters and their pictures.
