2) Do you understand how the app works? Was anything confusing?

At first glance the app is very simple and gives a great overview of what it provides in the first page. The scrolling information is simple and gets to the point, giving readers and customers a great overview of what they will experience. The layout in the screen before you sign in/ sign p in is informative and immediately told me what i would get out of this app. The only thing that I didn’t find appealing was the grey text for the “Sign Up” button, when I see grey text I think that I am unable to click it. Other than the visuals of the app are very impressionable.

    2) Do you understand how the app works? Was anything confusing?

Yes, the home screen gave me a good idea of what the app does. When I signed in the white screen stating there were no events initiated was some what confusing. I didn’t know what to do, but I’m assuming that when the app picks up and I can get friends to join it that there will be more of a visual representation of what the app has to offer.

    3) Are you encouraged to Invite your friends? Can you tell us why (or why not)?

I don’t think that I would invite my friends to this join this app right now. I have a pretty close knit group and almost everything the app provides we communicate through text. I think the app has a lot of potential for meeting new people, but right now my friends and I can do everything through text.

    4) Compare with other apps that offers a similar service. (Swarm, Connect, Highlight, Facebook). Which on do you prefer? Why?

Blleep is a one of kind service that I have seen so far. I don’ think it compares much with Facebook other than them both being social networks. Bleep is less of a posting what’s on your mind and more of a lets hangout compared to Facebook. I would prefer Blleep over Facebook book because i wold rather get together with friends rather than posting on each others walls behind a computer.

    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.

From what I saw from Blleep it looks to be very promising but I feel like getting together is something that can be done through text message with your friends. The app should appeal a little more to making new friends and put a little more emphasis on things that can be done without text message or calling. All together though this app really looks like it could become something good.

My initial reaction is that it sounds like a very cool idea! Then after a few more seconds I thought that the language on the headings was a little strange, in particular the page “Be accompanied”. There might be a better way to label the idea of inviting friends for a hangout, perhaps trying other wording would be beneficial. I also thought that it looks like it is something new, which is exciting!

    2) Do you understand how the app works? Was anything confusing?
Once I signed up my account, I was a little confused by what the intent was of the app. I think I understand that it’s something where you can be like “Hey everyone, come join me at the beach for a bonfire!”. But I’m not quite sure, and I don’t understand why you’d want your location revealed but not your identity.
After further exploration, I do see now that it is like an interactive events app. I like it! I can see using this for lots of quick pick-up games, picnics, swimming, etc throughout the summer. Nice.

    3) Are you encouraged to Invite your friends? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
I am actually. I live in a small town and it would be nice to use instead of trying to call everyone together. I also like it from the perspective of business owner, because I think I would use it for impromptu events. It’s a nice interface that I think my clients and friends would enjoy using, so that would speak well for my business and me!

    4) Compare with other apps that offers a similar service. (Swarm, Connect, Highlight, Facebook). Which on do you prefer? Why?
I use Facebook for my events mostly, and I have found that it is nice in that it exists, but I have wished that it was better. I hadn’t given a whole lot of thought about how it could be better, but I think the best way to say it would be that I wished it could be structured similarly (social interactive media) but have the appeal of email invites (like eVite, etc).

    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I would like to start using this app actually, but for some reason is not showing up in my app list on my iphone to allow me to change the location settings! So maybe check to that? I know I will be. Also, a slightly more thorough tutorial would be nice, I do feel slightly under-educated still about the app itself.

  3. Awesome app I that I have ever tried yet for my smart phone! I’m just amazed by its smartness and it is just time saving. I waste no time when using this app. Keep up the great work and improvements of this app.
Also, it is a great idea to get to know new people and meeting people almost like you or maybe with your interests. You can even find interesting events nearby. I am personally impressed on how it brings two complete strangers with the same interests together. This app makes life so much easier! I also even started my own an event and within minutes people all over were joining. Some didn’t even know each other before. Such a great way to gather new people together. Great app! Keep it up!

  4. 1) Download Blleep on ios 7 and play with it for a few seconds – what is your initial impression of what you see?

My first impression was that you have a very simple , not so eye-catching site. Hopefully it feels like a social networking site based on area locations. It is properly created and organised. However the base white colour theme could be changed. However it is very simple to use, which is best advantage.
know what. I think it is a good way to keep in touch with friends available in one’s locality.

    2) Do you understand how the app works? Was anything confusing?
I think the app works efficiently and quite easy to use. Just specify the location you want to meet your friends with and it shows the number of friends around the specified location instantly, also one could adjust the search radius to match one’s need. Then clicking on create button will let you to record a voice message or type a message as title of your event and you are done, now push the invitation to your friends. Now all your friends around that location will get the invitation . It is easy to operate once one is familiar with the app.

    3) Are you encouraged to Invite your friends? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
Yes, I am totally encouraged to invite my friend as it is a great platform to organise on spot events. Also it creates a dynamic social environment based on one’s location. So, absolutely I would be promoting it.

    4) Compare with other apps that offers a similar service. (Swarm, Connect, Highlight, Facebook). Which on do you prefer? Why?
Comparing with other apps Blleep is a whole new concept to go for. As mentioned above it provides dynamic relationship building with your friends available in your locality circle. Any event could be organised instantly by knowing your friend availability and space.just create an event, whether that’s meeting up for coffee, or heading out to a bar, and invite your friends. Once someone accepts, they will be added to a chat room for the group, where attendees can communicate via text or voice messages to finalize the details. Each event can be setup with a time stamp, if for example you’re only going to be in the city for a few hours and want to grab a drink with some old friends.
Other sites also give the platform but it does not define the locality or friends available. It leads to improper event management. Swarms,Connect, Highlight are also location based site . However they are not so user friendly with location detector map. However they are more attractive and visual appealing sites. So there are lots to learn from them.

It is necessary for the site to always upgrade the software according to the technological software advancements in I-phones. Also it is necessary make blleep page more visually appealing.

  5. 1) Download Blleep on ios 7 and play with it for a few seconds – what is your initial impression of what you see?

As i read through the wizard, it’s another typical social networking app where you can connect with your friends. The app looks simple and straight forward, and has fairly enough buttons and selection to make the user understand the app easily. The map looks the normal google maps or the ios map which is not confusing.

    2) Do you understand how the app works? Was anything confusing?

As i can see, the main feature of the app is to instantly find friends around the area who wants to come and hang-out. And other added functions to communicate with the friends by chatting and sharing pictures. The part where I was confused is where I created an event then it showed “461 friends and 462 all users”, but as far as i know i haven’t added any friends yet.

After creating my event, as stated on one of its default setting, the event will expire in 60 minutes and true enough, it shows the number of minutes left before it expires. Then all you have to do now is to wait and be notified when someone is going. Good thing there is a tutorial option on its settings where I can go back to.

    3) Are you encouraged to Invite your friends? Can you tell us why (or why not)?

Due to the fact that not all of my friends are not using apple products, i’m not encouraged to invite my friends to use the app. According to the blleep website, this app is only available in the App store.

    4) Compare with other apps that offers a similar service. (Swarm, Connect, Highlight, Facebook). Which on do you prefer? Why?

Compared to Swarm – the only good thing about Swarm is it’s made by Foursquare which is already a widely used app in facebook which means they already have more info and details for a specific place but other than that, blleep is better than Swarm.

Compared to Connect – Connect does the core function of blleep which is notify the users for friends within the area but i think the advantage of Connect is it has the event history of friends.

Compared to Highlight – Advantage: According to its description, it only uses facebook as its login. And as far as i know, facebook’s algorithm remembers all things you have searched and applies it to our daily routine. Highlight uses the info and automatically notifies us anyone interesting who is nearby.

    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.

There are no ratings yet for this app and ratings greatly affect the decision making of a user. I encourage the developer to make ways to encourage end users provide ratings.
