What do you think the site is about?
When I first visited the site, my first thought was “is this a website you get coupons from?†The first words that pop out to me is “Daily Deals for Small Business†. And that rings in my mind, as being a site that offers coupons.
Â
What pages interested you most?
Secondly, there is a link at the top of the home page that says “Past Deals†which was quite confusing to me. I was not sure if the site was stating I could have those deals, if I signed up, or was the content on the page an example of other companies that have used the product. I am quite interested in finding out what the main objective for that page is.
Â
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
A bothersome issue for me is the apparent lack of previous or currents users of the service. It would be a big help to see how a fellow businessman in a similar situation as myself is doing with the service. However, something I did find useful is the ease of filling out the form on the “Get Featured” page. The Ads that get viewed the most by me when I am on websites are the ones that are already attached to the page I am currently on. Having that feature available is something I really like and I believe it will help a business out by giving them more exposure.
Â
What do you think of the sign up process?
The sign up process is very simple, and not time consuming at all. It really just sticks to the basics.
Â
What is today’s deal/merchant/or date?
Today’s deal is a 50% discount with 1 purchase available per company from Megan Tyson Copywriting.
Rank the current deal worst 1-10 best: 8
Â
How could the current deal be better?
The deal could be better by possibly increasing the discount for first time buyers.
Â
Are you a small business owner & do you see yourself continuing to subscribe to Boss Rocket?
No, I am not a small business owner, and I cannot see myself continuing to subscribe to Boss Rocket.
Tell us a b2b daily deal you would love & buy? I would love to buy a vacation package.
Â
What do you think of the logo?
I like the logo. Its not too serious looking and very colorful.
Â
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
I believe the concept of the website is solid. To my knowledge, small businesses do not really have the advertising power or benefits of the larger ones. But this website is definitely supplying them with that need, which could be a huge profit booster for a company.
Â
Visit https://bossrocket.com. What do you think the site is about?
The site is very well laid out, basically a Groupon for businesses instead of the usual everyday joe consumer. Â However, this might not have been conveyed clearly — its all in the marketing. I might suggest you change the verbiage of “Daily Deals for Small Business” to “Daily Deals for Small Business Owners” — this is more clear and presents a target audience. Â I had to read through the deal, the, go back to StartUpLift to look at your company description to know exactly what I was looking at.
The Layout is very nicely done, however, with the banner along the top and the social media buttons clearly marked and targeted.
What pages interested you most?
I was immediately drawn to the ‘Calendar of Events’ tab and was pleasantly surprised with the integration of the Goggle calendar.  However, do take into consideration the amount of text that displays on the Google calendar from an end user perspective — only about 14 characters fit.  Most of your events were well beyond that limit, I would make sure to look into that.
Also the ‘Past Deals’ tab, this allows the user to see what you have offered in the past, possibly enticing me to sign up.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
Im not a huge fan of the rock box opening upon entering the site, however, I do understand the reasoning behind this and I like that you can X out of it without being required to fill out info. Â Thats just my personal opinion. 🙂
I think navigation is key and it seems like you have provided a lot of easy, intuitive navigation. Â
What do you think of the sign up process?
The registration process was quick and simple. Â I do think you should mark some fields as required, or possibly indicate the all info on the form is required. Â I didnt know if I could leave some fields blank or if I had to fill out all of them — not really a problem, anyone with a brain could get around that — but you know customers!!
Quick Note: Â I got a 404 error when attempting to return to the home page via the Boss Rocket icon from the “thanks for signing up” page after registration.
What is today’s deal/merchant/or date?
Today is 7/25/11 and the deal is for SMG
Rank the current deal worst 1-10 best:
5: I like the deal today, however, it really depends on who your target audience is.  You need to identify who your target audience is.  For example, my family owns a chain of Hallmark stores here in my area, we are, in fact, the epitome of a small business!  However, we would not need, nor want this offer.  It is really geared towards internet companies who have something to show and an audience that would be drawn to a video on the internet.  For this reason, some of your deals are confusing — for example, the storage one, ‘Storage Village’, we could use that — we carry merchandise and store actual product, we always need storage.  However, the SEO deal along with todays marketing deal are not relevant to me.
Know your audience and target the right industry!!
How could the current deal be better?
The deal today is clear, concise and it looks like a great deal for those who might need it!  I like the listing of ‘facts’ along the left.  Showing what the retail price is, what the percentage saved is, and also what the final price is.
Are you a small business owner & do you see yourself continuing to subscribe to Boss Rocket?
My family is a small business owner, however, there is nothing in my area. Â We typically try to stay as local as possible and use local companies for almost everything we need. Â So, probably not.
Tell us a b2b daily deal you would love & buy?
Maybe a newsletter deal, the one thing we do use the internet for is to send out a weekly newsletter. Â We use Constant Contact, but would switch if we got a deal!
What do you think of the logo?
I was initially drawn to the logo, I REALLY like it!  There seems to be a small white line around it that doesnt fully encompass the edge in some places — this may be intentional, but that was the only design element I saw.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
I might try to start smaller, more of a local b2b deal instead of nationally. Â Market exclusively to your area, see if it takes off — then you’ll know if you have a viable site. Â There are so many of these ‘Groupon’ type deal site these days, you want yours to stand out & I think you have done a good job of that by narrowing your audience — but you want to be sure you know exactly who your audience is and focus on targeting them!! Â Good job!!
What do you think the site is about?
When I first logged on I thought it was a site like groupon, where you are emailed daily deals, but these deals are more targeted towards small business owners.
Â
What pages interested you most?
As soon as I saw the page for “Become a featured merchant” I clicked it, in my mind this page would probably give you a incentive for becoming a merchant and you the business owner would get featured on the page which helps to build your customer base.
Â
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
Most bothersome is when you first log on, you automatically get a pop up to sign up, I would like to see the site first prior to being asked to join the site.
I really like the fact the site is easy to navigate and everything is laid out so you easily understand the purpose of the site.
Â
What do you think of the sign up process?
The sign up process was easy, and it states very clearly that sign up is FREE. The only thing is I was not sure how much of the sign up I had to complete, just my name, or my name and email address. I also did not like the fact of being asked for a referral code, it makes me think I can not sign up without his code.
Â
What is today’s deal/merchant/or date?
Today is 08/05/11 and the deal of the day was Custom designed facebook fan page.
Â
Rank the current deal worst 1-10 best:
I rank today’s deal a 8, considering the popularity of facebook I think this deal is a great way to advertise a new business and to get the name out and about in the internet world. The price is also great considering it is a 60% discount. The only down side is as a business owner you would need to make sure to properly advertise this page to draw customer to facebook to check out your business.
Â
How could the current deal be better?
I actually thing this deal is great, everything I need to know is right on the home page, and there is a video to show exactly what I would be getting there is nothing I could do to improve this deal.
Â
Are you a small business owner & do you see yourself continuing to subscribe to Boss Rocket?
We are new small business owners, I can see myself subscribing to Boss Rocket permanently. As long as the website continues to grow and continues to offer deals at a deep discount for those of us who are just starting and are looking for cheaper services.
Tell us a b2b daily deal you would love & buy?
I would love a deal on advertising, maybe a print ad online or in a local newspaper. Advertising cost are high and I would love a deal that would help to lower those costs.
Â
What do you think of the logo?
I love the rocket logo, when I think of rockets I think of get up and go and something fast. That makes me feel like the website is going to take off and offer better and better deals.
Â
What do you think of the logo?
I would like more personalized deals for my particular area, it would be great to have local deals that appeal to my local customer base.
What do you think the site is about?
I think the slogan says it pretty clearly. It’s daily deals for small business owners. Sort of like a LivingSocial or Groupon for the small business world.
Â
What pages interested you most?
I looked at all your pages, but I was most interested in reading the home page and the “How it Works” page (by the way, you should really capitalize the word “it,” as you do in the page header) just so I could learn more about how your site works. My “runner-up” would be “Past Deals” because it allowed me to see what kind of deals I might be able to get.
Â
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
So far, the only thing I find truly bothersome is the pop-up that appears when I land on the home page. Not a fan of pop-ups. And it appears every time I go back to the home page, too–even after signing up! However, I also have some questions after reading “How it Works.” Specifically, I don’t totally understand “how it works”! Are you saying that in order to get a daily deal I have to first purchase the product at full price, then try to convince a minimum number of people to sign up in order to get the discount? What’s the minimum number of people? If I can’t convince them, am I then locked into purchasing the product at full price? That seems like a big risk for me!
Â
I like the site in general. It’s very readable and has a professional yet user-friendly look and feel. I’ll get into more detail on each page a little later.
Â
What do you think of the sign up process?
I think that’s an awful lot of personal information you want (and what’s a referral code?), and I was relieved to see that only my email address was really mandatory. After I signed up, I got a message that you would start sending me daily deals. This led me to believe I would see an email in my inbox. However, when I signed into my email account, I didn’t see anything from you.
Â
What is today’s deal/merchant/or date?
Today is 8/5/11, and it looks like your latest deal is a custom-designed Facebook fan page from CS Social Media Marketing.
Â
Rank the current deal worst 1-10 best:
Well, CS Social Media says their service retails for $800. I’d have to check around to see how that compares to what other companies offer, but if that’s an average rate for this kind of service, then I’d say the deal you’re offering is an excellent one, 9 out of 10.
Â
How could the current deal be better?
I’m not sure it could. A 60% discount is very hefty! The only reason I’m giving it a 9 and not a 10 is because while a Facebook fan page is definitely useful, I think some of your past deals are potentially even more useful (i.e., the business plan and the search engine optimization). The Facebook page looks like a terrific deal, though.
Â
Are you a small business owner & do you see yourself continuing to subscribe to Boss Rocket?
I am, though my business is very small–a web biz with very low overhead. I do a lot of things myself and am reluctant to spend much money, but I’ll probably continue subscribing to Boss Rocket since I anticipate my business growing, in which case I might need more of these services.
Â
Tell us a b2b daily deal you would love & buy?
Web design. Web programming. Software and plug-ins for web businesses like shopping cart/checkout support, live chat, etc.
Â
What do you think of the logo?
I like it. Very cute! Complements the site.
Â
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
Home Page: Simple but professional look and feel. Slogan makes it self-explanatory. Logo is adorable. I would reorder your tabs: “Home,” “How it Works,” “Past Deals,” “Get Featured,” “Calendar of Events,” “Join,” “Contact Us.” People read from left to right, so you want to intuit the order in which they’d like to investigate things. Presumably, they’d like to read how the process works before they even think about getting featured. Would prefer to see a little bit of copy verifying what your site is about before you jump right into the daily deal. It’s not that I don’t understand what your site does, but someone else might not, and I just think it would look more uniform, more integrated, if you had a few words upfront like “Sign up now to take advantage of our daily discounts for small business owners like you!” The daily deal itself is presented nicely, and I like that you break down the value, discount rate, and so on alongside it. My only real problem with the home page is that dreadful pop-up. Please get rid of that!
Â
“Get Featured”: Why are your social media buttons squeezed on top of the page title like that? Put them over on the right or under the title or otherwise give them some breathing room. Text font could stand to be larger. I love that you don’t require any cash from featured merchants upfront! That’s a great draw!
Â
“Past Deals”: Your social media buttons are squished again. Otherwise, this is a nice page. I like that you display past daily deals so that potential users can get a feel for the kinds of companies you partner with. Why don’t the company names or logos link to their web sites, though? Even if I’ve missed the daily deal, I might like to check out their services. Maybe you don’t want to have a lot of outbound links? If that’s the case, perhaps you could charge the companies a little extra to have a permanent link on your site?
Â
“How it Works”: Should really be, as I said, “How It Works.” Again, the social media buttons are squished. What’s with the blurry photos accompanying the text? Is that just my computer? Wow, it makes me dizzy! Also, as I said before, I don’t fully understand the process after reading this page. If you’re saying what I think you’re saying–that I have to convince a minimum number of people to sign up for the deal in order to get the discount–then I’m not sure I’d be purchasing too many of these products. That’s an awfully big risk for me to take.
Â
“Calendar of Events”: This is a nice touch if you live in the DC area. Too bad I don’t, though. And the squished social media buttons…
Â
“Contact Us”: More squished social media buttons. Font could be bigger again. You want an awful lot of personal info from me just to get a question answered. I do like that you have a physical address, phone number, and email. Makes me feel like “somebody’s home.”
Â
“Work With Us”: Now here’s an interesting page! Apparently, a company can benefit from partnering with you in more ways than just becoming a featured merchant. Given this is the case, I kind of wish you’d change the “Get Featured” page to a more general “Partner With Us” page that would explain all the different ways a business can take advantage of Boss Rocket. You’re offering businesses a referral program, which is no small thing, but you’re hiding that info here at the bottom of the site. Also, a question: What exactly is the purpose of your call for entrepreneurs? You seem to want them to submit an informal business plan to you. What is it that Boss Rocket is offering to do for such people?
Â
Well, I guess that’s about it. I like the concept of your site. My main concern is that if you only offer deals to people who can get others to buy in, a lot of potential users may get turned off, especially if they have to commit to buying a service at full price upfront. The web site itself is fairly basic but serves its purpose well. There are a few glitches (e.g., my daily deal email still has not arrived an hour later, the annoying pop-up on the home page keeps appearing even after sign-up), but I think these are things you can easily take care of. Good idea and good luck!
Â
Thanks for the feedback. We will work to add in testimonials so people see the site’s potential and see that others are using the site.
Not sure I understand your comment about the Ads though. Can you clarify.
Michelle, thanks for the feedback. We changed the Google Calendar per your suggestion and will work to clean up the line around the logo. Thanks for pointing out the 404 error too, which has been fixed.
We have done our market research and are targeting though. At least one buyer of this deal was retail and wanted to highlight their location.
Greatfeedbac4u, thanks for all the feedback. When we started we just wanted to get some stuff up, and the how it works page has been woefully neglected. I will work on that over the next few weeks. I will also clarify some of the sharing concept (no you do not NEED to share deals to get them).
Â
The popup is annoying, but like telemarketing, it’s also the most effective. People would simply forget to sign up when visiting and we captured very few emails.
Â
I’ll also see what we can do about giving the share buttons more breathing room 🙂
Advocate 68, thanks for the feedback. I look forward to your staying a subscriber for some time to come. Feel free to drop us a line anytime and let us know how we can improve. Hopefully, we’ll get to your market soon with local deals.
What do you think the site is about?
I think that BossRocket.com is a very simple and clean website. Everything was readable and not too much words on the website pages. Also, I do love the calender of the up and coming networking events.
What pages interested you most?
The pages that interested me the most is the home page with the youtube video. It explained what Boss Rocket can do to help a small business to build more leads on facebook. Also the cool little fact about 70% of online users are on facebook.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
What I found that was bothersome to me was the Past deals page. The reason why it was kind of bothersome because a question popped up in my head. For instance, is the page for deals that Boss Rocket offered in the past? If so how is that going to benefit me now if I was a person who is trying to generate more traffic to my small business? Also the prices of the deal is still a little steep. That was a little bothersome. But a pro is that I like the contact page where you can upload files.
What do you think of the sign up process?
The sign up process is very simple. ( Just letting you know that simple is a good thing : )) Some people do not like the fact that they have to enter a long page of information in order to sign up for something, but Boss rocket makes it simple. Also, I do like that fact that registration is free.
What is today’s deal/merchant/or date?
Today’s deal is Custom Design Facebook Fan Page.
Rank the current deal worst 1-10 best:
I will give the current deal a 8 because I do understand that facebook is great place to network you business but the price for that deal is a little too much.
How could the current deal be better?
It could be better by lowering the price. Because there are some competitive companies that would charge less for the exact same thing for the fan pages on facebook.
Are you a small business owner & do you see yourself continuing to subscribe to Boss Rocket?
Personally I’m not a small business owner but my husband is. I would see myself subscribing to Boss Rocket if the prices were a little cheaper.
Tell us a b2b daily deal you would love & buy?
A b2b daily deal I would love and maybe buy if I had a small business would be how to generate more traffic through search engines.
What do you think of the logo?
I would give the logo a 10 because it show you what boss rocket is all about.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
Boss Rocket seems very interesting. Pros: It is clean and easy to read the information on the website. I love that it is straight to the point. Cons: It doesn’t have an “about us” page and it doesn’t have a toll free number.
Visit https://bossrocket.com. What do you think the site is about?
Giving visitors cheap deals to start up a business. Especially an internet based business.Â
What pages interested you most?
Calender of Events. Or at least it did at first. As a visitor, I like information delivered fast, and it looked like the perfect place for it. Only I have some suggestions for it.
First, don’t use Google Calenders. I’m one of those people who don’t like companies using third-party utilities in their websites. It somehow makes it look unprofessional. But it might be just me. You’ve got all these deals that make websites look good, and then I’m lead to think, what about you? Also, I didn’t like how items overlapped on the calendar.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
I think the deal on FaceBook sites at the home page was bothersome. Firstly, it was too big. It filled out the whole page. As a visitor, I want to know a little bit of a lot of things on the homepage, not a lot about a little. You can have a moderately big banner on your daily deals, but I want to know about more deals, maybe at the bottom of that initial deal, to see if the website is worth my while.
I did like the simple layout of the navigation bar, and the simple layout of the individual pages. If I was a new user, I could just press the few button there is, and get the hang of navigating through it very easily. If I was a frequent user, then I don’t have to go through the hassle of finding particular pages, because it’s all at the top!
What do you think of the sign up process?
It’s simple, and it’s what I would expect from a signup process. One problem is the question about revenue. If I was a real company, I’d be a bit sceptical as to whether I should trust this company. Try to avoid questions about money, I think, because it looks like you’re probing into my private activities. Apart from that, it’s very simple, and I think it’s great.
What is today’s deal/merchant/or date?
Today’s deal is ‘Custom Designed Facebook Fan Page’.
Today’s merchant is ‘CS Social Media Marketing’.
Today’s date is the 6th of August 2011.
Rank the current deal worst 1-10 best:
If I was a company, then I’d rate the deal 7. It’s nice to have, but I feel it isn’t really vital for publicising the company. Maybe it won’t be flash, but I could probably whip up a decent one after some research on Google, and the price tag is a little too much for me to throw my budget around with my whim.
How could the current deal be better?
Make it cheaper? That would make any deal better. I don’t think it’s really the deal, actually. It’s a good deal, it’s relevant, and I think the only problem is how willing consumers are to try it out.Â
Are you a small business owner & do you see yourself continuing to subscribe to Boss Rocket?I
No, I’m not a small business owner, but if I was, I might continue to subscribe, regarding the quality of the deals,
Tell us a b2b daily deal you would love & buy?
The one from Storage Village, Handbook Center, and that’s about it.
What do you think of the logo?
I’m sorry to say, I think it looks mildly unprofessional. I think there’s too much going on in the logo. A good logo is simple, and anyone should be able to draw it after gazing at it for ten seconds. I think the rocket is a bit too complicated for a logo.
Also, a modern logo is separated from text. The one I see seem to be anyway. Why not give that a try?
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
It’s a generally good site, good design, good service, and good deals. The only thing you really have to improve on is the use of the calendar, the logo, and expanding your popularity! 🙂
Visit https://bossrocket.com. What do you think the site is about?
This site is about bring daily deals for small business.
What pages interested you most?
I am torn between the past deals page and the calendar of events page. I like that you can take of advantage of deals that have passed and visually its looks very nice. All of the pictures are very easy to see and that you can easily readily the descrtipion of every past deal with ease. I like that your limit (or so it seems) the word count as not to overwhelm the reader. I was a little diasppointed that I wasn’t able to click on them if I wanted to gather more information on each past deal. In the event that there are more past deals added to the page it would be if you add a search bar to fish out what you want or sorting system. I don’t see it likely that someone would want to look through each and every past deal to find a certain one.
The calendar of events is quit essential in that networking is a large part in expanding one’s business so I find this page very interesting. I really like the agenda page it was very easy to read. I see that the month page is similar to that of the agenda page. I find that I lean more towards the agenda page because it is easier to read. I don’t find it necessary to have both. When I think of agenda I think more of a break down with each agenda instead of a page that makes it simply easier to read by spreading it out more.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
I didn’t care for the screen that onto the screen. For a first time visitor to your site it just throws a person off and could possible turn someone away from your site.
The overall layout of your site is clean, fresh and easy to see. I like the colors you have chosen but I would like to have seen more of the red in your site. Every page is very blue being that you used varying shades of blue. I see that you at the very bottom of your page in your email address your put that it yellow and I was quit drawn to that being that it’s like a little pop of color. You might want to consider incorportating that into your site to brighten it up a bit.
Speaking of the bottom of the page, I see that you have a menu section. Being that your tool bar features of the same informtion I find it unecessary to have the same information listed below. I also say that because your pages are not too lengthy so it is quit easy to just scroll to the top of the pages and select another tab. I would suggest moving the the contact information to the contact page being that you already have a designated space for such information.
I would also like to the how it works tab placed next to the home tab. With site like yours I like to all the most information first so that one can make an educated decision about a site.Â
When it comes to the social networking info I would like to see it moved being that visually it takes away from reading the title at the top of each page. Perhaps keepin them same size for putting them vertically on the side of the page would work. It still keeps them highly visible but it’s not as distracting. If your find them to be key elements you could make them move with the page as you scroll down.
What do you think of the sign up process?
The sign up process is quit simple and easy but I would hesitate entering certain information being you say one is going or receive deals by email. I wouldn’t see why my business info would be pertentint to receiving emails, especially my revenue.
What is today’s deal/merchant/or date?
The deal:Custom Designed Facebook Fan Page
The Merchant:CSS Media Marketing
Today’s date: August 8, 2011
Rank the current deal worst 1-10 best:
I would rate it a 7.5. I thinking having a facebook fan page would really benefit known brands that would work well on such a site. I really couldn’t see Blue Cross and Blue Shield with a fan page. The price might be a little steep depending on your business size but the potential traffic to ones site will probably pay for itself ten times over.
How could the current deal be better?
As I stated before the price might be steep for some. I would want to see some profit margins of other companies. I would also like to know that if I wanted to make changes to the fan page would that be extra?
Are you a small business owner & do you see yourself continuing to subscribe to Boss Rocket?
I am a pontential business owner so a site with daily deals is always good to have in my portfoilo of “help.”
Tell us a b2b daily deal you would love & buy?
I liked the Storage Village and the R.C. Mobile Tech
What do you think of the logo?
I really like the logo. It’s fun to look at and I like the layered look it has with the rocket coming out of the O. I like tht you chose a different font for the word rocket. Even though I like the colors of your logo. I would like to see a lighter element to it. As I stated before I think that yellow would a great addition to it. Perhaps trimming in yellow or something of the like. Your logo gives me the feel of a jersey with the alternating of colors on the rocket.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
It would be nice to have the calendar link to ones phone to send an alert with up coming calendar events chosen by each user.
What do you think the site is about?
I think the site is about designing a taylor made social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.. The service specializes in creating a unique and one of a kind design at a sensible price.
What pages interested you most?
The page that interested me most is the Become a Featured Merchant page because it required that you put no money down upfront. When a business view a deal that states that we only succeed if you do is quite awesome. To me that means Boss Rocket really believes in the service that they have to offer. The potential client is sure to receive business growth through this service.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
What I found bothersome is the video.  The music featured wasn’t very appealing and the topics/text that flashed during the video bothered my eyes. Perhaps if the text didn’t flash so fast and if there was a voice to the video, I think it would be more appealing.
What do you think of the sign up process?
I think the sign up process is straight to the point, short and sweet and very easy to follow. Personally I believe that’s the way to go; there’s no frustratation involved with this process which gives you a great chance of getting the client.Â
What is today’s deal/merchant/or date?
Today’s deal is to Custom Designed Facebook Fan Page.
Rank the current deal worst 1-10 best:
I rank the current deal a 10. When I see the retail price of $800.00 and compare it to 60% off! I think that is awesome! A client should jump at this deal! I know that I would.
How could the current deal be better?
Personally I love the deal just as it is. With this enconomy today, you really can’t beat what you guys are offering. I really think it’s great.
Are you a small business owner & do you see yourself continuing to subscribe to Boss Rocket?
I’m sorry to say that I am not a small business owner but if I was I would subscribe to Boss Rocket.
Tell us a b2b daily deal you would love & buy?
I would probably buy Groupon and LivingSocial.
What do you think of the logo?
I think the logo is perfect because it completes the company name.
Visit https://bossrocket.com. What do you think the site is about?
My first thought was this was a website for small businesses to obtain coupons and/or deals for items for their businesses. I did not understand the concept at first however I moved forward to looking further into this website.
What pages interested you most?
Linking to the other pages like Facebook and Linkedin interested me most. Selecting the Calendar of events is always of interest to me – I liked the style of the calendar.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
Bothersome: the picture/brand/logo. I selected some of the other links on this site and found the pictures to be fuzzy. The videos and the music on the Boss Rocket site and the Deal Site were too loud. There was no voice explaining what Boss Rocket is and how this company will work with my business.
What do you think of the sign up process?
Sign up process was too simplistic. The Font was too large and I would have wanted more fields to sign up and/or input.
What is today’s deal/merchant/or date?
The Current Deal: the name of the company was not in a higher location on the screen – I had to read further that the company name was CS Social Media. I selected the video to see more of this deal and the video was too loud and looked aggressive.
Rank the current deal worst 1-10 best: 3
How could the current deal be better?
Explain what CS Social Media actually delivers for my business. What does “25 units†mean? The deal discussed Facebook, however Facebook is free – what will CS Social Media do for me? Offer me 24 hour customer service? Create and design my Facebook Page?  What about face-time and having me work with 1 representative on my account?
Are you a small business owner & do you see yourself continuing to subscribe to Boss Rocket?
If I had a small business and I would not consider subscribing to Boss Rocket or being affiliated with this company – I do not like the name “Boss Rocketâ€.
Tell us a b2b daily deal you would love & buy?
If there was a creative network service to work with me I would buy that deal. Will they work with me on helping me sharpen my tools and skill set regarding marketing my business?
What do you think of the logo?
I do not like this logo at all – the logo did not seem sophisticated enough for a website or thought out carefully. The Logo actually disturbed me – a Rocket going through the letter “O – This is a brand that the website will have to present to everyone at anytime. What is the premise of this picture and the rocket going through the letter O? Boss Rocket: I do not get the point of the Boss Rocket brand. And the picture was not clear – it looked fuzzy.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
I would suggest revamping this whole site, including the brand. The Videos are too loud and aggressive ( is that the premise of Boss Rocket that it is aggressive? Unfortunately the logo was so disturbing to me that I would not visit this site again.
What do you think the site is about?
I think this site provides advertising space for small businesses.
What pages interested you most?
I found the contact us page interesting which even gives the option to upload a document when submitting the contact form.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
What was bothersome was the obtrusive pop-up when the home page loaded in addition to too many entry forms on the site including a contact page, sign-up page, and a get featured page. The blurred images on the how it works page is distracting. I like the past deals page which speaks to what the site is about. I really like the idea of displaying current business meetings and future engagements but the actual calendar format used is a matter of personal taste. The buy this daily deal page is straightforward and just fantastic. It is clear and concise and potential clients love that.
What do you think of the sign up process?
The sign up process is a bit awkward after seeing multiple contact forms on one site.
What is today’s deal/merchant/or date?
Today’s deal is a custom designed Facebook fan page by CSSocial Media Marketing.
Rank the current deal worst 1-10 best:
I would rank it at a 3.5-4.
How could the current deal be better?
The deal is specific to Facebook only but even for an additional price it would be nice to add other social media sites as options. A small marketing campaign would be cool too.
Are you a small business owner & do you see yourself continuing to subscribe to Boss Rocket?
I have had two failed businesses over the past 8 years and spent countless hours and lots of money investing in advertising and marketing. Based upon what I now know and my previous experience I would not take advantage of today’s deal.
Tell us a b2b daily deal you would love & buy?
I would definitely buy a media package that included a Facebook fan page, twitter set up, rss feeds, and a small advertising marketing campaigns. Sure small businesses know about Google Ads, directory submissions, and SEO but most small business owners don’t know anything about social media marketing. They just don’t know that an effective marketing campaign can explode their business. Having this type of package could entice repeat business and long-standing clients. It could save them so much frustration and money rather than leaving them to try and market the fan page on their own. Most small businesses just don’t have that knowledge and skill.
What do you think of the logo?
I think the logo could look cleaner and I am not sure if it is the color scheme or the bulky letters that looks cartoonish. However, the rocket makes sense and I like the concept of the rocket because it is part of the site’s name.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
Actually the name of the site is very catchy and reminds me of a dealcatcher or pricegrabber type of a site. I was really taken back by the popup registration page that appeared as soon as I got to the website. Perhaps if I was on the page browsing for some time maybe like 30 seconds or more that might have been ok. But not initially because I don’t know what the site is about so I would not sign up. I think an alternative to pop-ups should be used.

1.What do you think the site is about?
Boss rocket is about helping small businesses to find an easier and cheaper way to get their business known so as to grow, using the means most popular to possible clientèle.
2.What pages interested you most?
The most interesting page for me was the past deals, even though they are not particularly of interest to me at this moment, if I was a small business owner in need of this product , this would be a cool page to see your past and your potential progress.
3.What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
When I first clicked on the website link you provided I went straight to your site and while I was ready to find out what its all about , puff ff, there popped up a little page asking me to join, its cool, only I don’t know yet what Im joining. It may not turn ppl off of the site, but its a little too quick I thought . So I obviously turned it off and read the home page and watched the vid. Interesting looking vid I might add, but I think, it is too silent (in educational terms) good music, but id rather hear someone on the vid telling me about the process as it goes on. Its easy to read info given on a website, its another thing to actually be able to grasp the concept. It helps to have someone who knows the product actually explain to me what is actually going on in the vid.
Ok so I read, I get what you’re saying but I still don’t understand, but I continue to read the rest of the page, then? I have to order. Because I did not understand the full concept yet, I quickly think “oh they just want my money†I personally think the Homepage is too soon to advice ppl to order, esp with so little info as to why they should pay.(maybe Im the tight handed one, but I wouldn’t pay ….yet)
Good thing you provided the little info about the “DEALâ€, problem is I don’t see why its supposed to be a deal yet and there is not much explanation, maybe if your explained what’s included in the $800 that makes $320 a deal.
4.What do you think of the sign up process?
I like the Contact us and Join page/process , you didn’t make to many strict rules about ppl entering info they may not at the time want to enter, I only put in my name, email and country, I think this info is sufficient if I just want to ask something or just check the site out. You know whom to address ,you know how/where to reply me and with my country you can answer according to what you know would be my interests, I could fill in the rest only if I want to , good thinking there.
5.What is today’s deal/merchant/or date?
Custom Designed Face book Fan Page

7.How could the current deal be better?
Well if you offer this deal to businesses, it is probably not a bad deal at all, but you know what would make your deal FANTASTIC? Its to have a feature page of those face-book business that have taken the deal and or have worked with you, let ppl see what they will be paying for by actually going/connecting to some profiles with your work then the $800 wont be so bad and the $320 will be a not to miss deal.

8.Are you a small business owner & do you see yourself continuing to subscribe to Boss Rocket?
No im not a small business owner yet but ill stay connected to it , you never know what might happen in the future, I am hoping to have my own small business.
9.Tell us a b2b daily deal you would love & buy?
Ok please do laugh or judge me, what is b2b?
10.What do you think of the logo?
The logo is kind of hilarious, I knew a cartoon when I was young called “stingray†I was so young I might not be spelling it right, but it just like something out of that cartoon, the rocket reminded me of this cartoon character with huge eyelashes, when I first saw your feature here I thought you were all about vid games and cartoons to be honest, but I guest in the sense of the subject it does apply. Cool , but I wouldn’t use it for myself.
11.Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have
I would kindly suggest something that might not be really important but the order of your pages
you might consider starting HOME , HOW IT WORKS, PAST DEALS, CALENDAR, CONTACT US, JOIN then GET FEATURED, that’s the order in which id read to understand as to why I have to join a site. You might also want to make your calender a bit clearer and probably just straight to the point. Great touch that table, but confusing. I would prefer to see something like this on my business site:
Fri, August       12 8:30-10am      BWC : women in business
If something involves my business and my bank account and or money( just to make a point) I usually like it to be straight to the point and clear , no confusions or wrong conclusions.
NB:Frankly it was cool going through your site and figuring out what I think of it, I hope my input is of importance to you and your business .Bizu

Boss Rocket offers daily deals for small businesses. Discouts include all the things necessary to run a small business.
I really liked the ‘JOIN’ page. The signup process was very simple and easy to follow and the real nice thing about it that you only have to fill out 1 page, plus you don’t have to give out any real personal information.
The ‘HOW IT WORKS” page was also nice. Short but gives all the information you need. The link to Twitter is a good ideal in allowing a perpected customer to follow Boss Rocket while they decide it they want to join or not.
The “Calendar of Events” really needs to be worked on. I felt that it was very confusing to use and could potentially hurt getting customers. Looks very unprofessional.
Today’s deal is a Custom Designed Facebook page.I’m going to rate the current deal an 8 because the 60% discount is a great savings and looks very inviting. Having your own website inside Facebook could only help boost your business. I’m a small business owner operating my home based business and I could see myself continuing to subscribe to Boss Rocket because of the price and having someone help me build my own website is a big plus.
I would like to buy the Level671 SEO deal. The idea of improving my site rankings with 4 of the top search engines involved to drive in more traffic to my website and increase revenues could only make me more of a successful business owner.
I thought that the logo was very plain and needs to be revamped a little. I believe that presentation means everything and the logo did’nt move me very much.
What do you think the site is about?
The “Daily Deals for Small Business” motto makes me think of a favor exchange market. Meanwhile the How it Works description suggests an affiliate marketing site, where the buyer’s reward is a price cut while the seller can get more customers. But ultimate after seeing today’s deal, I think it’s a site offering things someone with a small business might be interested in.
What pages interested you most?
The How it Works part to make it clear what it’s about, and why is this good for me. And the deals, obviously.
What do you find bothersome?
Its very strange to be asked for your e-mail right as you arrive at the site. Unless I came already with the intention to sign up I want to know more about something before I give any personal data. This also doesn’t build confidence since this practice is commonly used to collect e-mail addresses.
What do you like?
The pages are clear and easy to read, and everything is more functional than flashy. The site is only offering me something and not trying to push me to buy it.
What do you think of the sign up process?
It puzzles me a bit that even though it looks like I already signed up at arrival (I filled the pop-up) I get no feedback whether I’m registered or not, and there’s even a “Join” button. On the Join page it looks definitely like that I’m not registered since it has field that the first sign up did not have. The site doesn’t even remember the data I already provided (name, e-mail, state). Then if I register again, I get a “Thank you…” message and I’m back where I was with no indication that I ever registered. If I were you, I would only ask for the location first to give the appropriate deals, then leave the rest for the sign up. Once someone signed up, the site should remember that and disable the join option.
What is today’s deal/merchant/or date?
Today’s deal is the current featured offer (however I cannot find any other), but merchant or date… I’ve seen nothing like those.
Rank the current deal worst 1-10 best:
Sorry but I can’t rank it. Of course a 50% discount is nice, but ordering the deal leads me directly to the company’s page where I can order it at that 50% discount. I dont see where do you come into the picture as I could’ve found them through any other ways and get the exact same deal.
How could the current deal be better?
Give a price cut or any bonus for buying it through you and not directly from the company’s homepage.
Are you a small business owner & do you see yourself continuing to subscribe to Boss Rocket?
No, but being self-employed I know that it can be very time consuming to find certain services or just to get ideas on how or where I could improve, so I can see the benefit of regularly visiting such a site. However not being a US resident, I see no reason to subscribe.
Tell us a b2b daily deal you would love & buy?
Advising on tax and/or accounting. I imagine most small businesses need that even more.
What do you think of the logo?
It’s not bad, easy to remember and recognize. For me it has a strong 60’s feel to it though, that while I like I’m not sure how it’s connected here.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
You should add a favicon from the rocket, those help a lot for people like me who tend to have lots of pages open at the same time.
While the site claims to be all about daily deals, there’s no daily or any type of deals item in the menu except the past deals which are exactly not what most people are looking for. The “Home” item should really take you to an opening page, with a short welcome and site description, than the featured deal. Since it looks like you work on Twitter too, you might as well include the tweets there.
Plus – unlike there can be only one deal each day – there should be a page with the current deals. As it is now, the deal(s) do not stand out of the site, they are more hidden within the other stuff that should only provide a background to them.
Thanks for the feedback sbutler23. I appreciate your taking the time to keep your comments succinct and clear. I’ll look at linkbacks to drive traffic back to our past merchants even though their deals are over.

I apologize for the not being clear about the “ads’ statement. On the “Past Deals” page, there are companies who were offering deals previously. There offers may very well not be valid anymore, but the previous offer will incline me to check their company to see if they offer something new or similar I may use in the future. By their “ads” (if that is the correct name for it) being there it made me want to check out some of the companies. Only down side was, there were not any links to those companies advertised on the “Past Deals” page. I hope that helped out a little.
OK, thanks, we will be addressing that issue.
