My initial impression of this website is that it is for animal rights. Then when I clicked on a few buttons I realized this was an activist site for basically everything that is negative in our society.

    2) Is it easy to understand what the site does? are instructions clear and straightforward?
This site is very easy, simple and straightforward. I definetely understood how to paste different codes for facebook and myspace.

    3) Are you encouraged to select any ribbons?
I definetely selected a few ribbons. The one for animal rights and the other for human trafficking.

    4) would you use this services? if not why not?
I would definetely use these services because I feel that this site is for a very good cause to save people, and animals fromm being mistreated in our society.

  3. well , I think your site have  a good impression and it is easy to understand what’s he  took about from the first look to your main page ,and I already click some buttons to see more ribbons and the instruction to get ribbon was very clear and straightforward , however I ‘m not interested to select any ribbons or use  your service because it’s not clear to me how can your service will effect my cause what ever this cause was .well I think your site need to be more communicated and interactive with your visitors, you need to make them believe How useful your service are , an ribbon image only will not explore how much benifts your service will provide them  when they use it .the solution in my opinion you need to add some videos  to your site to show your visitors two things first how they can add this ribbon to their blogs or web site.because may be some of them don’t know how to do that .second , how useful this ribbons are and how come it will support their cause if they use it .that in my opinion will make them at least try it for once or may make them totally understand how your serivce are very useful for thier cause ,it depend on two things 1- the type of the visitors themselfs 2- the quality of the matrial you provide in the videos you will add . well that’s all good luck

  4. When I visited the site at first I wasnt quite sure what the purpose of the site was, but after a few seconds of loooking at the site I realized what the goal of the site was. The instructions were right there in front of me and easy to understand. If someone needed a ribbon for there blog of website I would use this site just because of the varitey of ribbons they offer and how easy it is to add one to a page!

My initial impression of what I see is that there is a lack of focus. Which cause am I supposed to notice? Is this a site that offers me resources to post on my own site? Why does the graphic change so quickly? I was not immediately drawn to click any of the buttons because I’m not sure what buttons you mean. I felt the three boxes below the initial graphic were helpful in explaining the purpose of the site, and after I read them it helped me better understand what the site had to offer. I think the buttons you’re referring to are the ribbons below. I had to scroll down to find them so they weren’t a part of my initial impression. When I did scroll down, I was drawn to the save the whales ribbon, as the blue was bright and stood out.

    2) Is it easy to understand what the site does? are instructions clear and straightforward?
After I read the three boxes that explained the steps, I was able to understand what the site does. But I had to look down to those boxes before I understood. The “display your causes on your website” text on the upper left hand corner of the site, next to the logo, wasn’t enough for me to understand. Perhaps adding something about displaying a ribbon on the site would explain better. The instructions are clear and straightforward. I like them, and I like the graphics they go with. They offer visual instruction.
    3) Are you encouraged to select any ribbons?
Definitely the whales ribbon. I think I’m encouraged to select that one because I love marine life, the blue stands out to me, and when I clicked it I found it easy to select the code.
    4) would you use this services? if not why not?
I wouldn’t use this service because I don’t have a website. However, I would recommend this to friends and co-workers who have a use for it. I would recommend the site because it is very easy to use and makes sense.

    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have
I have a great idea for a feature– offer users the chance to suggest or even to create their own ribbons. For example, I thought of a cause that wasn’t represented, and would love to be able to create a ribbon for that.

  6. 1) What is your initial impression of what you see? Are you immediately drawn to click any of the buttons? Why or why not?

My initial impression is that this is very professional looking. The colors and lettering are eye catching, and the slideshow of ribbons at the top of the page is a nice addition. The layout is good and easy to follow. However, the slideshow of ribbons goes a little too fast to read what each of them says. I had to click to go back to some to read all of the info that you had about them, specifically the pet adoption and breast cancer ribbons. I also noticed a typo in the slideshow ribbon about pet adoption. It says “3 to 4 million potential wonderful pets”. It should say 3 to 4 million potentially wonderful pets. While that is a small error, little things like that can make the site look less professional and trustworthy.
I was drawn into the slideshow of ribbons, and found that I wanted to click on those first, because they were the flashiest.

    2) Is it easy to understand what the site does? are instructions clear and straightforward?

I think that this site is very clear and easy to understand. I can tell that you have an option on the left side of various categories of causes, and that you can click on the ribbons you want and then get those pasted onto your website. However, the 3-step directions on the front page, while very explanatory, look as though they will be links to click on themselves to begin the process, and they are not. This is a little misleading, as when you usually see boxes with steps like this, you are supposed to click on them. Otherwise, I think everything else is clear and well laid out!

    3) Are you encouraged to select any ribbons?

Again, the ribbons in the slideshow are the ones I looked to select first, as they were the flashiest and first ones you see. They also included an explanation of the problems they represent, while the rest of them didn’t. It might be nice to have more explanations like that for all the ribbons.

    4) would you use this services? if not why not?

I would use this service! It is a nice way to promote the causes that I stand for and get the message out. There are a nice selection of causes to choose from.

    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.

I think you did a really good job on this site! The only additional feedback I have is to try and make the ribbons more diverse looking. Several of the ribbons look exactly the same, with the only difference being the words. It would be nice for each ribbon to have its own unique look!

  7. 1) Visit https://www.CauseRibbon.com. What is your initial impression of what you see? Are you immediately drawn to click any of the buttons? Why or why not?
When looking at the site for the first time, I assumed the site was for adopting animals, later on, I noticed the site was for helping out things that weren’t good about society.

    2) Is it easy to understand what the site does? are instructions clear and straightforward?
At first glance, it isn’t but after a while, the site does become clear and everything becomes straight forward for the viewer.

    3) Are you encouraged to select any ribbons?
Yes, the Human Trafficking, fight against Breast Cancer and Adopt Your Next Pet.

    4) would you use this services? if not why not?
Yes, I would use the services in order to help for a better cause.

    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.

    I have none.

  8. 1) Visit https://www.CauseRibbon.com. What is your initial impression of what you see? Are you immediately drawn to click any of the buttons? Why or why not?
My initial impression was this was a site promoting animal rescue. The giant banner on the top is good for advertising the ribbons as they will appear on the user’s site, but the placement on your homepage is distracting and confusing at first glance.

    2) Is it easy to understand what the site does? are instructions clear and straightforward?
Upon exploring the site, I was able to easily understand the instructions to display these virtual ribbons on the website of my choice. What wasn’t clear is why one would do so. It may be helpful to change the wording at the top of the home page to something like “Raise awareness. Display your causes on your website” to clarify. I would also change the font color. Gray is too easily overlooked, especially with the distraction of the banner I mentioned earlier.

    3) Are you encouraged to select any ribbons?
The selection right now is fairly limited but I would be inclined to use the “Don’t buy, Adopt” button, as well as the” Equality” button

    4) would you use this services? if not why not?
I would probably use these services.

    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
Other popular “causes” to consider creating buttons for- Breastfeeding, cloth diapering, and car-seat safety

    1) Visit https://www.CauseRibbon.com. What is your initial impression of what you see? Are you immediately drawn to click any of the buttons? Why or why not?
I like the site.  It took me a second though to figure out what I should do.  Obviously this is for folks that have their own website, but I think there should be something that says that or gives options for those that don’t have their own site, such as a page with links to these causes.  I was drawn to click on the buttons to see what happened, and it worked well.  However, it doesn’t explain what happens when multiple buttons are selected.  I’m going to try this now on my own website…when I added the code, it worked properly on my site.  However, I only saw one of the ribbons.  Is it supposed to cycle through the ribbons that have been selected?
    2) Is it easy to understand what the site does? are instructions clear and straightforward?
Once I saw the instructions, yes.  However, it’s fairly intuitive once you realize exactly what the site is for. One suggestion is that there by a way to click in the code to automatically copy the code.  Instructions on where to put the code would be helpful for amateurs as well.
    3) Are you encouraged to select any ribbons? Yes!  I love some of these causes and would gladly use the code on my site, even though it’s a business site.  The ACTA one especially.  Perhaps there should be a way for those that are in charge of these “causes” to upload a ribbon…I don’t see a way to do that
    4) would you use this services? if not why not? Yes, absolutely.  I like to feel like I can help out, even in a small way to help spread messages that I personally believe in.  It gives my business a way to express “itself” and give a personal feel.
    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have. I really like the site, especially that you don’t have sign up for anything.  That’s a huge plus for me.  When clicking on the links on my site, however, it takes me back to the CauseRibbon site instead of to the actual cause, however, I’m sure this is because it’s still in Beta.  I like the color scheme and the general feel of the site.

  10. 1) Visit https://www.CauseRibbon.com. What is your initial impression of what you see? Are you immediately drawn to click any of the buttons? Why or why not?

I liked the puppy banner upon landing on the site but I clicked to explore the different causes before seeing any of the other banners.
    2) Is it easy to understand what the site does? are instructions clear and straightforward?

You might want to place text like “Your Website” on the “Paste it to your website” graphic so I understand how it overlaps on my page. Should it be “Paste it into you website”.
    3) Are you encouraged to select any ribbons?

Yes. I liked the “stop human trafficking”. I wasn’t clear on what multiple ribbons would look like.
    4) would you use this services? if not why not?

I’d want to be able to choose what URL clicking on the ribbon loads on my site.
    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.

I wasn’t clear on where in my site I should paste the code. I would provide instructions for common blog CMS like blogger and wordpress.

  11. 1) Visit https://www.CauseRibbon.com. What is your initial impression of what you see? Are you immediately drawn to click any of the buttons? Why or why not?
First, the presentation of the site is very clear. It’s simple and yet elegant. Well done. For my computer though, the webpage is too big so that I have to scroll down to see everything. Given that you don’t have that much information to present, the icons, for example, can be made smaller to fit into the page. Better yet, it will be better if your website can detect the computer settings and adjust accordingly. Many good websites does this.

The only problem with the ribbon is that there is no middle step where I can find out more about the cause before I include it into my website. If I want to contribute or promote a cause, I will surely want to know more about the website or people behind the project and whether or not they can be trusted. So, it will be better if there is an intermediate stage where I can select a cause and go to their website and check it out before I include it into my website.

After that, what you’ve got is great.
    2) Is it easy to understand what the site does? are instructions clear and straightforward?
    Yes. Couldn’t be easier.
    3) Are you encouraged to select any ribbons?
    Yes.
    4) would you use this services? if not why not?
Yes, provided I can find out more about the source and whether or not they are credible or trustworthy.
    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
It is a great idea and should be encouraged. Just the caveat about the source. Give us a link to the source so that we can check it out before we promote it.
