  1. When you visit our site, is it immediately clear what the site is about? What do you think we do?

I think you have made it very clear what this website is all about.  However, sometimes making it clear is only half the battle you also have to make your homepage look pleasant and also reflect what the website is all about, the graphics didn’t really do this.  What I saw was a bunch of blue, no real illustration for what the website was about.

How do you like our little owl?

I do like the little owl and thought it was clever how you put it on top your name.  That is actually a good logo.

Would you recommend the service to friends? Please elaborate.

I think I would if they like to share videos and do online chatting.  Your service seems to provide all the tools necessary to do this.

Would you use it in you business/workplace? Why or why not?

Yes I think that your service is one that businesses could certainly utilize it makes doing business online as well as having conference calls rather simple.  If I had a business I would certainly utilize you product to conduct such areas of your business.

Please share any additional feedback you may have.

I think you do have a good product, however, as much as its clear on the homepage what this service is for, the graphics on top don’t really reflect what this service is all about. Graphics can also be a selling point in bringing you product to the forefront.  Other then that I think you have a great product that could go a long way toward taking the Internet a step further in communicating with others online.

  2. When you visit our site, is it immediately clear what the site is about? What do you think we do?

Dozeo appears to be about webinars. No it is not immediately clear. I can only read the english on the page. The first sentence talks about webinars, but it does not stand out. What you do needs to be emphasizes and needs to stand out and not be hidden among other text. This may be stated in your motto, but I cannot read the language.

How do you like our little owl?

I like the owl. It is a good mascot.

Would you recommend the service to friends? Please elaborate.

I don’t see how to get started, and I can only read the english text. I thought that the pink text saying “dozeo instant session” would be a clickable link, indicated by change in text color, but it was not. You actually need more calls to action by making text in different font color actual links.

Would you use it in you business/workplace? Why or why not?

Don’t know. Still trying to figure out how to use the site. It is not obviously clear and I don’t see a tutorial.

Please share any additional feedback you may have.

The Sign In to create a session button is “grayed” out, when I should be emphasized and easy to find instead of almost transparent and hidden. Your objective should be to sign up more people, not less people.
This site seems 1-dimensional, lacking in instruction, and in content. Would like to see more related to how to use your site and more value-added items on your homepage.

  3. When you visit our site, is it immediately clear what the site is about? What do you think we do?

No, i have to read through your description then i know what your site about which im not immediately clear. It is about meeting new friend from your site and can video conferencing with them and creating events.

How do you like our little owl?

I like it, it’s simple and easy to recognize and remmber by others. At here i would like to comment a little about the layout of your site is which too simple which is not attractive and interesting enough. And the word is small which i have to read the descriptions and it consider as a long description. people dont like to read long phrases. They like to see pictures or video with a short description which is easy to understand. I suggest that you can add a social picture which is related to your site on the home page and include a short description which it can explain what your site about. Such as, ” dozeo, a place where you can meet new friends in the video’. ofcourse you can write a better description. Or you can design a simple step by step about how it works. You can create 3boxes then write each of the steps on each box.

Would you recommend the service to friends? Please elaborate.

Yes i would, i would tell my friend that i found a new site which now can meet new friends and have a video conferencing with friends with the feature your site provide. It is a good social site.

Would you use it in you business/workplace? Why or why not?

Yes, i can easily contact and have a discussion with my working partners with the feature you provide. i can share any information to them easily.

Please share any additional feedback you may have.

I did try to go into a session, it take some time to load but after it load the design is simple which i like it. But i does not know what i need to do next after i sign up and sign in. I suggest that you can provide a simple instructions which telling the new members what should they do or what they can do with all the feature and icons. You can create a pop up step by step instructions. Or you can create ‘ TAKE A TOUR’ feature in your home page which bring visitors to get familiar with the feature that you provide as this is really new for us. The design and layout of your website can be improved. I suggest that you can make it more interesting with a slide shows displaying how your site works or what your site about instead of a picture without any description. Make it look more professional with your site layout. I feel that it’s weird when i visit your homapage and i directly can go into a session which i dont know what is it about. Maybe it’s a beta version so you just want to let people try out. In the homepage i think you should display the sign up form with some introductions about your site. You can display some screenshots of your site. Overall im very pleased with the service and feature you provide which i think that it have a bright future. only the design, layout and lack of consistency which can be imporved. I hope that my feedbacks could help you in further development . Good Luck.

  4. When you visit our site, is it immediately clear what the site is about? What do you think we do?
Well, the default version was German, so it took me a minute to figure out there was an English version available. Unfortunately, I still can’t read your tagline because even after changing to the English version, it’s still in German. However, once I switched to the English version, it became clear from the copy that you’re a site that provides a web conference platform.

How do you like our little owl?
The owl logo is cute. I do wonder, though, if it’s a little too cute for your target market, which I would expect to be businesspeople. The hot pink color looks young and girlish to me, more like something aimed at teens.

Would you recommend the service to friends? Please elaborate.
Well, I haven’t tried it yet, so I don’t know if I could recommend it or not. I think it’s a really good idea, but I would have to make sure it worked without glitches first.

Would you use it in you business/workplace? Why or why not?
I think this is an excellent idea for business use. But, again, I’d need to make sure it worked reliably and easily enough for other people to use without trouble.

Please share any additional feedback you may have.
First of all, if it’s at all possible, it would be great if you could automatically direct North American or UK IP addresses to your English version and German addresses to your German version. I’m not a programmer and don’t know if that’s even possible, but it would create a smoother experience. If you can’t do that, I’d suggest creating a landing page that offers the English version or German version. The user then clicks on the preferred version and is taken to the site in the language of their choice. I’ve seen a lot of sites set up this way. My concern is that if you leave it the way it is, visitors who don’t speak German may not notice the option to translate to English in the upper right corner and may think your site is not for them.

Second, I’m not sure about your color choice. To me, the hot pink and bright blue together imply a site for youth and/or for socializing, not for business. If you want to appeal primarily to businesses, I’d suggest eliminating the hot pink elements. Also, in the middle of your home page, there’s a horizontal band with what looks like a bunch of petals falling in blue. In my mind, this design has nothing to do with your site and takes up valuable space above the fold. I’m left wondering why it’s there. Again, if you want to aim for businesspeople, I’d remove the cartoonish designs and replace them with images of professionals happily engaged in web conferences.

On the other hand, your home page copy is quite good–straight to the point. If you wanted to make it a little easier on the eyes, you could rearrange it to a more vertical orientation so that it would read more like this:

Uploading videos is a thing of the past! The future is dozeo. Dozeo lets you:

–Meet your friends online in real time
    –Share online events
    –Create webinars
    –Participate in video conferences

The above arrangement would help visitors take in what you offer at a glance. However, it’s not absolutely necessary to change the current copy. It’s not bad at all. The one thing I would be sure to add is that this is free (if it is free, that is). If it’s not free but there’s a free trial, you need to let people know that right on the home page, too.

I noticed that you don’t have a navbar at the top of your home page. I had to scroll down to the bottom to find your informational pages. Important pages like your FAQ, Tutorials, Support, etc. need to be at the top where visitors can find them more easily. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to view any of these informational pages because every time I clicked on one, it brought me back to the home page.

I did, however, try to sign up, and I was impressed with the array of sign-in options. I signed in with my Yahoo account and created a session. I wasn’t sure that I liked that it was available for all the world to see on the home page, though. I’d prefer to create it from inside my own account and choose who to share it with–just people I invite or the whole site. Then I wasn’t sure how to initiate my session, but I clicked on the owl, and that took me to the web conference page. I liked your video conference set-up with the main presentation window, two windows showing users and listeners, and another window for chat. Nice, simple design. My only question here is why I now seem to be at a site called BigBlueButton. That’s confusing. I thought I was at dozeo.

Well, that’s about it. It’s hard to comment since so much of the site isn’t finished. I think you have a great idea here. I’d just make your presentation a little less “fun” and a little more “professional” if you’re primarily marketing this to businesspeople.

  5. Also wanted to add that the blue banner across the middle top of your homepage works as far as (complimentary colors) with the pink owl, but as far as value, it is an abstract object that means absolutely nothing to the visitor. This is very critical space that gets viewed by many eyes. You should use a picture that means something to your brand and adds to your brand. How does the blue thing tell me that you are in the webinar business? I think you should either work to find a better representation of your brand with this section, or come up with a creative way to tie your abstract visual in to your business model.

I think that the English version of your site should have your brand motto/slogan in English as well because the German on the homepage means nothing to the English-speaking visitor.

  6. One more thing I just thought of now: Regarding your home page copy, if you want to market this first and foremost to business professionals, then you should also rearrange the order of your selling points so that the FIRST thing you mention is the video conference and webinar capabilities and THEN talk about the potential social uses (chatting and sharing events with friends).

  7. When you visit our site, is it immediately clear what the site is about? What do you think we do?
Yes and no. Yes it clear that you your site offer s video conferencing with the pontential to have
as many peole join as you woud like. I say no because that’s all the information I could gather.

How do you like our little owl?
The owl looks very immature and lacks a professional look.
I’m not saying use (from a google search)  this but is fun and inviting. Of course somone may not like it but you can’t win them all.

Would you recommend the service to friends? Please elaborate.
No I would not reccomend it to them because I don’t know how you site works. I couldn’texplain any of the features that makes it different from any site because you don’t explain it either.

Would you use it in you business/workplace? Why or why not?
Again it would be hard to know if I wanted to use it because I don’t see it in action anywhere on your site.

Please share any additional feedback you may have.
Your homepage is univiting to what to the product that you are offering. I see no where on the
page that makes me feel or see video confercing.  I would at least expect to see a video on your
site letting us experience what your product can do. I don’t get the graphic on the homepage. It looks
like a flower or something. It just seems like it’s there to fill space when in fact great information
and a video could be inserted in that spot. You have no: about tab of you company, contact information,
how it works, support. Sorry, as I scroll down on your hompage page I see your about tab but it’s the same
information you already have on your homepage. There’s no info about your company, when it was founded, why and who owns it. The genaral, intra and instant page also offers up the same information as the homepage. I would also have to wonder what does intra and instant mean.I know that this is a beta site but you really don’t give peope much information to work with.I would heavily consider: changing the layout use bold colors. Your site is about sharing and I see nothing of the kind. Keep it light but informative and it has to be visually fun.  Please keep revamping and show people why you like you product. Show and tell.

  8. When you visit our site, is it immediately clear what the site is about? What do you think we do?
Why is the default language german? Wouldn’t you think that most people understand english? I would make english the default language, unless you want to target the Germans specifically.

Even if I click on the “English Version” your slogan beside your logo doesn’t change…. So I can’t read your slogan, which is sad. As your slogan is like your identity. I cannot comment on your slogan as such…

If I consider that the slogan is “missing”, I would say that your website does not introduce itself briefly enough. It should be short, concise and straight to the point about what your website does. Not telling the story of your life like you currently do.

But, after reading your little paragraph, it became clearer about what your website does. It is a place where I can have my own virtual room and share videos to my friends. Those virtual rooms are called “webinars”.

How do you like our little owl?
If it were a stand-alone logo, I say that it is really nice. It has a simple form, yet can represent a lot of things, it has simple colours and no shades or transparency, everything that a logo needs to be effective.
Now, if I analyse your little own with the purpose of your website, I must say that it is not very appropriate. It has nothing to do with what you offer… An owl is too “real”, by that I mean that if you use a more abstract logo like the logo of StartupLift, you will see that it has no real meaning in the real world, and as such you can pretty much include the logo in any website, independet on its purpose.
I could put startuplift’s logo on a site called “SurfForGold” and it would be perfectly fine. See where I’m going? An owl has a lot of meaning and your website does not address any of the meanings at all. For example, an owl could represent a spirit, the night, a library, etc….

Would you recommend the service to friends? Please elaborate.
No. I never used any services like this, I am currently content with what I have, and honestly, there is no way that you can compare to the world-dominating sharing website… Facebook.
And furthermore, I have no idea how your website works… Do I need to invite other friends or just give them a link? What about the User Interface when I create an account? Maybe include an insight picture of your website? Or a video?

Would you use it in you business/workplace? Why or why not?
Same reason as above, I don’t find the purpose of using a new website when I already have facebook. And I don’t know how secure your website is, whether it will provide me with my needs, such as a place for e-learning…
Show more of your features is what I’m trying to say. And more details about them.
Please share any additional feedback you may have.
You should translate your slogan to the different languages. I know it’s hard work but your slogan is part of your trademark.
On your main page, what is that image in the middle top? The blue bit… I don’t find it relevant at all… You might want to remove it to include tabs. Some very important tabs should be at the top AND bottom, such as blog, FAQ, Tutorials, Terms and Privacy Policy. Those are important and should not only be in the footer.

Those were my feedbacks, I hope that they will be useful to you. Good luck with your website !

  9. First of all when I visited the website the first thing that came up was German writing. I think this will immediately discourage people who don’t understand German. Unless your target audience are Germans then I think you should make the home page in English. Otherwise make http://www.dozeo.com automatically come up in English and http://www.dozeo.com/de in German.
I then clicked on the English version and your companies tag line remained in German. Your logo and motto is your companies identity and I think it’s important to have the tag line/motto in English also.

When you visit our site, is it immediately clear what the site is about? What do you think we do?

After reading the text it’s clear that this site offers video conference rooms with the potential for multiple participants. What is not clear is whether this service is free or not. Also the writing is small and with hardly any other information displayed on the home page I think you should make this a feature and a lot larger. Better yet make a nice picture slideshow of how this service works.

How do you like our little owl?

I think the little owl is cute, simple and recognizable. Although I wasn’t sure how it exactly related to the name Dozeo or the service. Then I tried to translate your tag line and realized it mentioned something about a wise owl. This is why it’s important to translate the tag line into English otherwise the whole product/company/concept doesn’t make sense.

Would you recommend the service to friends? Please elaborate.

At present no. For example I went to “Login” and half of the page was in English and half of the page in German. I understand a little bit of German so I went to new user and all the fields were in German. So I wouldn’t recommend this to English speaking friends as they could use a similar service that is fully understandable. If there was a full proper English version then yes after using it I probably would recommend it.

Would you use it in you business/workplace? Why or why not?

Being based in a country that speaks English I currently wouldn’t use this for business purposes. If the language was sorted out and every page and the sign up process was available in English then I would consider using it. If I did use it for business it would be to conduct video conferences with clients around the world.

Please share any additional feedback you may have.

Presently I think the website design needs improved. It’s very plain and too simple. I also think you need a navigation bar at the top of the page with 5 or 6 main buttons. I understand at present the links at the bottom of the page aren’t all working but I think you need your main links at the top of the page where they are clearly visible. Users don’t want to be searching for information like FAQ and Tutorials because if it takes too long to find this information they will just leave.

  10. When you visit our site, is it immediately clear what the site is about? What do you think we do? I found the website very clear, you allow video posts and host webinars.
How do you like our little owl? I like the owl however I wonder about the color being business friendly or more friendly towards a wider audience. I like the design but I feel like hot pink is more fun, playful and depending on the audience you are looking for it may not be the best option. Maybe something more like a yellow or even lighter shade of brown?
Would you recommend the service to friends? Please elaborate. I would, as long as it is available in multiple languages. I think it can be nice to talk to friends from all over the world in a single place together and to be able to interact with one another.
Would you use it in you business/workplace? Why or why not? I’m not sure about this because of the color options; its more playful and friend oriented and not as business friendly. Most businesses want simple to use and navigate without the need for colors or pink owls.
Please share any additional feedback you may have. Make the site multilingual; it’ll open you up to a broader spectrum. Also decide if you want this to be more of a business orientated video post and webinar or for the general public.

  11. When you visit our site, is it immediately clear what the site is about? What do you think we do?

It is not very clear what dozeo do when I visit the frontpage. I don’t know the wording dozeo, I don’t understand the tagline “eulenschlau statt mausegrau”, I don’t get the wings graphics on the front page. I feel that it is not dedicated to English but in German only. I only learned more about this site after reading the message from dozeo team from the center of the page.

I think the site helps me to connect and talk to people from other locations.

How do you like our little owl?

Yes! It’s a little cutie! I’d like to play with her.
Some may think that it’s too cute for a professional website, what I think is that it depends on which group of audiences you want to target, if it aims at the working and business area, this logo is certainly not appropriate (then maybe you would prefer the Big Blue Button one than this); but if you are targeting somewhere in between, self and causal uses for family and friends, then I think you can keep your logo, it is a fun and happy experience for meeting love ones, so a cheerful logo can be accepted. If you think that it is still too childish, change the color of the owl to colors like green, blue (not bright ones) and add some details to the owl so that it doesn’t look that cute and childish. I saw that you’ve made a great effort in your owl (or you won’t be asking us about your owl for a question here) and I feel that it’s a pity if you have to abandon it simply to create a “more professional” atmosphere. Moreover I know websites using a graphical logo rather than a plain character, you may know G for Google, Y for yahoo; but how about the cute penguin for Linux, the cool head for Drupal and that alien for Reddit, it is possible to use graphics logo for professional use; a character – A-Z, are just another character to users, but an interesting image will be unforgettable. Just change the color and add more details on the owl, pink owl is cute, a blue owl will not be, explore your color palette.

Would you recommend the service to friends? Please elaborate.

No, don’t understand German and many parts are written in German.

Would you use it in you business/workplace? Why or why not?

No, not for workplace, I may use it with friends and on causal occasion only.

Please share any additional feedback you may have.

In the english version change the title and tagline of “eulenschlau statt mausegrau”.

I found the english message from the dozeo team influent. Is it just me or others have this feeling too? Even there is no grammatical errors and it is in perfect English, the speech seems overestimating the functionally of what actually can be done by the website, eg, “Uploading videos is a thing of the past”, even we use your service, we still have to upload and make videos! Videos and video conferencing are completely different, the former are some documentary of the past, and the latter are something happening right now, live! Also we’re not checking into our email. You’re putting an email on the frontpage. Use some lists, flowchart, slogan, or short messages instead of an email to present your idea. “All u need is a little bit of imagination and dozeo” Avoid abbreviations or slang language on your website.

The wingy illustration on the center of the page looks nice but doesn’t help you carry your site idea, draw something more useful or you’d be wasting space and user’s time. If you feel that it is a waste to delete it put it as a transparent background somewhere on the page.

As a first time user, I would not like to try it because I have to login and explore what’s the next step. I think creating a simple demo or tour of the application helps us understand the usage of the website. Then I’d try if I’m comfortable with it. It also make sense to start a menu bar or take some screenshots.

It is strange that clicking on the textbox for “Create your own instant session: ” brings us to the login page. I assume textbox are for typing text. Later I found out in fact that textbox IS for typing text — only if you are logged in. This whole process can be made easier by showing this create session only when a user is logged in. When the page is not logged in, simply create a button saying something like “log in to create your session” will do. There are also weird behaviors on the textbox, I typed in something, click somewhere outside, and then I click the typed text again, then the text I typed will be deleted[:o] and I have to type that again; any errors from what I’ve typed into the textbox, are showed inside the textbox after deleting what I’ve typed! Also, what is the “password protected” box doing here? Isn’t it should be on the login page, that blue page I mean. After playing around for some time, I figured out that our session can be protected by a password if that box is checked, or everyone else can enter to my session. But this is confusing to the first-time users.

In the login page, I noticed they’re in german although the link above is under “en”, you can fix this in your next version. I like signing in with openIDs, you can make the login process smoother by enabling login from your homepage, and by ajax instead of bringing us into another page, opening another window for us to enter username and password, going back to the homepage again.

After I have successfully created a session, (again showed in the ultimate textbox and deleted what I’ve typed,) told me that the session is created, but nothing changed and we don’t know what to do next. I have to refresh my page to finally discover my session, there it is. I guess I’ll have to click the little owl.

Then I end up going to BigBlueButton. This confuses users to think you’re taking them to other service website. But I noticed that we’re still in dozeo, maybe a subdomain of dozeo called rock-eagle-owl; only the title and the favicon are displayed wrongly, that should be dozeo and that pink owl. I think this page is originated from BigBlueButton, so if dozeo has to claim it for their own use, you’ve to change all bigbluebutton to dozeo or users will easily be confused.

I tried the chat box and I can see it works, but I don’t know why is the + there. It should be a tool for us to change the fonts and style. But when I type something in the box on the all tab, click the + tab and send it, it creates a new tab of the typed material. It is ok if it is intended to be that way.

There are some other issues on the privacy of sessions. It’s better to indicate the private ones on the webpage so users know which are public. But if it is a private session, should it be displayed on the webpage where everyone knows that session exists? Or only the login ones will see that session if he has the privilege to access it?

  12. The website is about webinars, client contact with each other. The website looks a lot more casually laid out and does not specify the same.

The owl is well done, looks good and has an appealing colour.

I would certainly recommend it to friends and family if it was more language friendly.

Would be a bit reluctant to use it for business purposes as it’s looks a lot casual. The colours, text layout and clipart has to be more professionally presented. Think of some less bright colours yet interesting to look at from a professional point of view!

Other observations:- The featured banner on the right hand would look better on the left in another colour. Also the word BETA doesn’t look good that way, needs to be tied in yet specified. Don’t know what the blue bit is in the middle, looks lost….like from space….Please add tabs below like FAQ, Tutorials, Terms and Privacy Policy, Contact us etc…

  13. When you visit our site, is it immediately clear what the site is about? What do you think we do?

Yes, it is clear, but it simply does not provide enough information.  My belief is provide more thorough information on the first page the viewer sees or they very well may “click” it off.  I feel it should give more advice immediately on how your website works instead of saying things like “use your imagination”  That type of wording in my opinion might turn some people away as they figure they have to do too much themselves without the needed help.

How do you like our little owl?

The little owl is cute, but I do not really see how it ties into your website particularly.  I think something larger and more meaningful to users would be better.  In fact the whole first page is pretty blau.  It doesn’t particularly need to be extremely more colorful, just perhaps have tags at the top that give a viewer more of a feel of what you provide that they can click on even.

Would you recommend the service to friends? Please elaborate.

If I was discussing this type of service with a friend, I might tell them to take a look at your website, but it really didn’t do enough for me to overly recommend.

Would you use it in you business/workplace? Why or why not?

At this point in time, I likely would not.  I do not feel it has enough information right away to be really helpful.  In this busy world if one is going to pay for something they want good information right away.  I feel you need to make the website first page especially more interesting and helpful and catchy for business people.  This site just doesn’t have a business feel to it.  More of a personal feel and even then not that much yet.

Please share any additional feedback you may have.

When I click on FAQ’s it does not show in English.  Then when I click on English above it just took me right back to the first page and did not show the FAQ’s.  I feel that if you do more work on your website and fix a few glitches such as what I just mentioned and make it more appealing to businsses and not so cutesy you could have a successful business.  But it needs more work at this time.

When I visited the site.. I immediately thought it looked somewhat..weak. Very plain. The colors are nice and you have a lot of helpful links at the bottom of the page which is nice. It just doesnt look professional. Sorry.
