About Fanified:

Fanified.com is where people go to get certified as a fan for their favorite sports teams, musical artists and television shows. A fan should know certain things about a topic. For example for any sports team you should know about the teams hall of famers, retired numbers and when the team was founded along with other things. Fanified tests them on this and if they can get a 75% score, then they are considered a certified fan. Once you pass then you are given access to post content to that specific fan site. You end up with a page with very knowledgeable people talking about their favorite things without a lot of the garbage that’s on other sites.

I was really interested because I thought it would be very great to socialize with people that were fans of the same tv show I enjoy. I couldn’t find any button that really had any interest for me. I did click on “Desperate Housewives”. I don’t watch the show, but I have seen a lot of advertising for it and caught a few minutes of the show here and there.

I did create an account and take a test to be certified. Unfortunately, I was not a big enough fan of the show I chose and did not pass the certification test.

I was not  very interested in any of the choices that were on the site. I would have liked to have more shows to pick from.

Are you interested in only hearing from people who have the same amount of passion as you do for the topic?
I would really enjoy talking to fans of the same shows I enjoy. When you are a fan of anything, you really do have a lot of knowledge about it. It would be interesting to discuss it with people who also understand the appeal of the show.

I think after this site is around for a while, more shows will be added to the list. It’s nice to be able to go to one place to view a lot of different opinions and discuss different shows.

I would absolutely be drawn if there were some more music options. I would like to see some rock music featured. The tests are a great idea. It separates the “real” fans from the “thinks they are a fan”.

Done. I failed. Lol. I did Rihanna. I love music but not that type.

Are you interested in getting a certification for a sports team, musical artist or television show that you love?
Yes I would like to see some 80’s music here. For instance Motley Crue, Poison, Aerosmith, ect…
I would visit a few times a week with that kind of content.
Are you interested in only hearing from people who have the same amount of passion as you do for the topic?
Yes. I would like to meet more people who are as passionate about certain things as I am. It is sometimes hard to find fans of the same things. I don’t want to talk with someone who doesn’t know a thing and tried to pretend they do.

Great site. Very original idea at least to me. I have never visited a site like this. Just needs a whole lot more content.

I was  extreamly impressed with the site there was so much to choose from. I was especially drawn to the television and music section. The test is neat, it really lets you know how big of a fan you really are.

I took the certification test for a lot of televission programs and found that I only certified for 4.

Are you interested in getting a certification for a sports team, musical artist or television show that you love?

Yes, I got certification for four of the progams I watch. But was rejected for all of my music choices.

Are you interested in only hearing from people who have the same amount of passion as you do for the topic?

Yes, It’s not much fun talking to someone who does know what you are talking about.

  5. Hi, I’m hoping to provide with some honest feedback from a true fan’s perspective.

Visit https://www.fanified.com. What is your initial impression of what you see? Are you immediately drawn to click any of the buttons? Why or why not?

The first question asks what my initial impression is of what I’ve seen. My first impression of the fanified.com website is that I immediately am drawn to the logo at the top and I thought to myself that the site seems easy to navigate through. The second question asks if I am immediately drawn to click any of the buttons. I actually immediately scrolled down to the picture of Rihanna because I assumed that I would find the music category there but when I didn’t find the button I was looking for I didn’t have the urge to click any other buttons because I didn’t see what I was looking for.
Create an account and click on one of the fan group pages and click on “Get Certified” to take the certification test.

I became a member of Fanified and since I am not a fan of any of the available selections I chose Rihanna because I like some of her music. I took the certification test and I didn’t like that the test is so long! I also found it rude that if a “fan” fails the test given they receive a message telling them they’re not a real fan. I also found it seriously odd that the incorrect use of the word your was used (it’s you’re not your).

Are you interested in getting a certification for a sports team, musical artist or television show that you love?

I would be interested in getting a certification if a lot more shows and celebrities were added so for right now my answer is no.
Are you interested in only hearing from people who have the same amount of passion as you do for the topic?

No, I don’t like to limit myself on who I choose to interact with. I think being a true fan means that you all have a love for something or someone so everyone has something to bring to the conversation. I don’t think I have the right to tell someone who loves a show or a celebrity that I’m a better fan than they are.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.

I think that fanified.com would be ideal if it worked on bringing fans together in a different way. Instead of having people take some long boring test why not make the certification tests shorter and have facts posted about the topic they’re interested in so that members can “study” them. If you are coming to fanified.com you are more than likely a fan of something or someone so making fans feel rejected because they don’t know every detail and fact of their particular interest is defeating the purpose of getting people to want to join. Fanified comes across as hostile by dividing fans by what they consider to be real fans and casual fans and by using a slogan like all fans are not created equal. I assume the idea for Fanified is to be a fun enviornment where fans can chat with each other about their shared interest so with a more positive approach I think that can be achieved.

  6. · Visit https://www.fanified.com. What is your initial impression of what you see? Are you immediately drawn to click any of the buttons? Why or why not?
The first thing I notice about this site is that it must be new, given the very small number of things that you can be a  certified fan of! I think the graphic fits very effectively with the statement and what the site is trying to say. As I’m not a huge fan of any of the currently available things I wasn’t drawn to click on them, however I did click on “About” as I was keen to know what a “certified” fan is and how that works.
    · Create an account and click on one of the fan group pages and click on “Get Certified” to take the certification test.
I signed up  the long way via email as I don’t like using Facebook for these types of things as I don’t like sharing private information this way. I took the certification test for Desperate Housewives which I watch on a regular basis, at 50 questions I think mostly you will only get “true fans” as most people don’t have that much of an attention span and will give up if they get questions wrong. Maybe a graded system of fans would be an idea (90-100% truly awesome fan, 80-90% keen fan, etc)? Just a thought to get more traffic but it depends on your plans for your site. I passed the test, but since there is only one other fan on the site there is not much happening at the moment so there is nothing to discuss, which defeats the purpose of the site.
    · Are you interested in getting a certification for a sports team, musical artist or television show that you love?
I will generally read discussions but usually I won’t actively participate in them. However, plenty of people do. Maybe put up a test for popular culture with a cult like following to grow your numbers – eg. Harry Potter, Star Wars, Star Trek, Twilight – these groups are keen on discussing these movies!
    · Are you interested in only hearing from people who have the same amount of passion as you do for the topic?
It is good to have somewhere for people to go that is only for people who like the topic, without the distraction of people who don’t care but feel the need to have their say. So I think this type of site has its place for a lot of people.
    · Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
It would be nice to see a broader range of tests available. Also maybe a button that stands out with “how it works” as the About link is really tiny compared to everything else on the home page.
