  1. Please visit https://www.firefield.com and take a look at the homepage. What do you think this website is for?

I think the website is for managing and organizing “things” in your life.

Take a look at https://www.firefield.com/answers – is this helpful?

Well I think you attempt to answer questions or provide more information, but from a usability standpoint -  you are hurting yourself here with the glitches on the page.  You have text overlapping text.  “You can create a profile for anything” is overlapping the “You must sign up to get your profile” – I actually don’t think you need the “You must sign up to create a profile” because the “Sign Up Now” button is obvious and we don’t need further explanation.  Instead of having “Got Kids?” you should say “Sign up Kids here”.

Aside from the glitches, I don’t understand what answers you are trying to provide. It is not obviously clear to me. I assume you are trying to explain about “Groups” “Activities” and “Places” here, but there is one main problem. Our eyes do not go straight to these three icons (first). You need to get rid of the sign up People and sign up Kids part – because it is distracting and detracting from your answers page. Our eyes simply do not go straight to your objective on this page, and that is a problem.

What do hate and/or like about the homepage?

I really like your design, logo, icons and graphics. These all look professionally done.
I don’t like how your search bar blank is overlapping the text “More than a social network” – this also looks like a programming glitch. Needs to be addressed quickly!

Do you think site would apply to you personally?

At the present, no. That is because you haven’t convinced me that I need your site. There are millions of Organizer/Calendar sites out there – and I already have Outlook calendar in use. As for Facts/Figures, Interactions and Collections, I don’t feel that I have a need for your site to organize this at this time.

The site is completely free and you can sign up using Facebook. Are you able to sign up?

    Yes. Sign up was easy.

Once you sign up, what is the first thing you think you should do on this site?

Once I sign up, I see the message (behind search bar) “Thank you for signing up with Firefield. Activation instructions have been emailed to you.” Other than this message, there is no clear direction of what to do. My only guess is to confirm the email and then hope to receive direction.

Clicked activate in email. Now I am inside a dashboard. I can add friend, see profile, create profile, add a child, and matches tab. I really don’t understand why I start out as a fan of 28 profiles. Is this just part of a testing phase? A lot of references to “Mud” and “Mudville”

Think of someone who owns a small business or runs a sports team or organization, do you think they’d benefit from this site? Why or why not?

Possibly. At this point, I don’t see how this can improve my life. It seems like a different version of what Facebook already has and Facebook has almost everybody on it.

Please let us know any feedback/comments about the site and anything that’s not clear or doesn’t make sense to you.

    Actionable suggestions and comments:
    1. Address website glitches mentioned above.
    2. Clean up answers page and have a plan of attack for the eyes. Currently there is confusion and no clear plan to get the user eyes to your actual answers.
    3. Once signed up and confirmed, there is a lot to do inside dashboard. So much that it is overwhelming. You need a automatic tutorial to walk the user through, 1 step at a time.
    4. I just clicked the “5 Things Theory” on homepage. Again more glitches with text overlap. “schdule?” is in the background behind a check box for “Have family members that will never get online?” among other glitches.  Too many to type.
If you want your site to appear professional, you need to get your programming code clean and free of errors like this. No one would pay for a service with obvious glitches, and many people would not even use a free service that doesn’t look professional.
    5. Keeping #4 in mind, if your site is on the border of convincing someone to go with it, then the glitches could keep them from committing. Get them fixed, and your brand image with improve greatly.

  2. Please visit https://www.firefield.com and take a look at the homepage. What do you think this website is for? It appears to be a site that lets you organize and simplify all the details of your personal life, including schedules and events… and even communicate with others who are on your calendar.

Take a look at https://www.firefield.com/answers – is this helpful? Sort of.  From my understanding, it is an online platform where you can manage and control all your social networking, personal events, etc.  It looks to be like a personal forum which you can control or even let others control.

What do hate and/or like about the homepage? I dislike the fact that it does not have all the answers that I generally look for when landing on a homepage in a website.  I look for immediate facts as to what this site is all about.

I like the fact that it is colorful and attractive, which makes me want to want to stay and look around.

Do you think site would apply to you personally? Not to me, No.  Simply because I do not presently use the computer for ALL of my social networking.  I don’t have that need.   If I owned a business or had a family that did, I would think it might be a great way to go.   Just off the top of my head, I know a family that is very involved in photography, they take church photos and such.  They are very busy with their scheduling and such and they currently use Yahoo for all their needs.   I think this would be something that would really help them with their organization, more so that Yahoo.

The site is completely free and you can sign up using Facebook. Are you able to sign up? Yes.  I could sign up using a Facebook account.

Once you sign up, what is the first thing you think you should do on this site? The first thing I had to do was to Allow this site to access my Facebook information.  Then I was brought back to to a Firefield landing page which was to Complete My Signup.

Think of someone who owns a small business or runs a sports team or organization, do you think they’d benefit from this site? Why or why not? As I stated in a paragraph above, I do know a family that owns a photography business.  I feel this site would be something that they could use and benefit from in place of the current Yahoo calendar scheduling system they currently use.

Please let us know any feedback/comments about the site and anything that’s not clear or doesn’t make sense to you. Really when I first landed on the homepage of your website, I had no clue as to what you actually were about.  When I read the Answers, it became a little more clear, but still not as much as I would have liked.  I only fully understood what you were about after I registered on Facebook and go to my personal Dashboard, did I get it.   I would have liked to know more about it on my initial visit.  I look for complete understanding when I land on a website.  If everyone feels like me, no one would make it very far into your website.  I would have lost interest.  I think you have an excellent thing going on here, but it just needs further clarification at the beginning.    Otherwise, the website looks good, very attractive and eye catching.

  3. Zeke,

Thanks so much for the feedback… we’re not seeing the style issues that you mentioned (overlapping text and things overlapping in general) in our testing…. and we definitely want to get it fixed as soon as possible… would you mind letting me know what Operating System (OS) and Browser you are using?

Also, if you were so inclined, you could send any screenshots of what you’re seeing to me here jeremy@firefield.com

Once again, thanks so much for spending the time and providing the feedback. Very helpful.

  4.

Please visit https://www.firefield.com and take a look at the homepage. What do you think this website is for?

I have some questions for you, is this social network?  A way for businesses or individuals to get organized?  Why would someone want to create a profile with you?  The reason I am asking is because by looking at the homepage it isn’t very detailed as to what the website firefield is used for.  I see stuff about organizing, and socializing, but no statements as to what a person or even an organization can do with your service.

Take a look at https://www.firefield.com/answers – is this helpful?

I think they are helpful, but are they clear?  Have you ever looked at the FAQ areas of other websites, very crisp and to the point?  Yours is a bit chaotic, and looks like there are a lot to read in different spots.  Simpler is sometimes better when trying to get your point across.

What do hate and/or like about the homepage?

As I said above, not very much is said on the homepage as to what the service has to offer.  This is important to get individuals to want to sign up with you.  If you were to explain on the homepage how invaluable you service can be it would grab customers to it.  What I do like is the layout of the graphics; this is very well done.

Do you think site would apply to you personally?

I don’t know, I really don’t know.  I really don’t do much socializing online, and I really don’t have much need for someone to help me organize and keep track of my schedule.  But for those who do need such a service this could no doubt be something that would apply to them.

The site is completely free and you can sign up using Facebook. Are you able to sign up?

Yes, I was and it was quite simple to do so.  I was able to sign up through my Facebook account.  In fact I commend you on making this feature where people can use their Facebook account.  It makes it easy to sign up and also eliminates individuals having to create yet another account login.

Once you sign up, what is the first thing you think you should do on this site?

I’m not sure, maybe read some of the news articles to get more input on the website.

Think of someone who owns a small business or runs a sports team or organization, do you think they’d benefit from this site? Why or why not?

If the website lives up to its claims of helping to organize task then I think that those in small businesses, and other organizations could benefit from signing up.  However, these types of services need to be made clearer to be able to attract those in the business community
    .

Please let us know any feedback/comments about the site and anything that’s not clear or doesn’t make sense to you.

As I stated above the homepage isn’t too clear about your services.  This is going to be the first impression that anyone will have of your service, it needs to grab him or her in.  You need to tell them what you can offer that no one else on the Internet can.  Remember that you are trying to grab in customers.  I think you have a good service to offer, for those who could utilize it, and it is certainly easy to sign up for, which is another plus, not to mention that its free.  But you need to really grab the potential customer on the homepage.  Your homepage can either make or break your website

  5. Please visit https://www.firefield.com and take a look at the homepage. What do you think this website is for? I think its for pretty much whatever you want to create with it. Such as businesses, friends sharing information, or just providing information.

Take a look at https://www.firefield.com/answers – is this helpful? Yes it was.

What do hate and/or like about the homepage?
I hate the colors. Too drab. It needs more life. I love how everything is easy to find.

Do you think site would apply to you personally? Yeah sure.

The site is completely free and you can sign up using Facebook. Are you able to sign up? Yes
Once you sign up, what is the first thing you think you should do on this site?Start a profile
Think of someone who owns a small business or runs a sports team or organization, do you think they’d benefit from this site? Why or why not? absolutely benefit from it. Because its a way to get their name out there. Plus it has all of these cool gadgets that are very helpful. Like getting directions.
Please let us know any feedback/comments about the site and anything that’s not clear or doesn’t make sense to you. Everything is self explanatory. I had no trouble finding what I needed.

  6.

Please visit https://www.firefield.com and take a look at the homepage. What do you think this website is for?

i think it is for organizing thing that in your life with the tools you provided.

Take a look at https://www.firefield.com/answers – is this helpful?

Yes it’s helpful. With the more detailed information that you provided. But it’s looks annoying with all the circles and sign up now buttons. The page seem like too much thing inside. It makes me feel that it’s complicated. I suggest that you separate the what’s the different with firefields into another page instead same page with the what is firefields.

What do hate and/or like about the homepage?

hWhat i like about your homepage is that it look simple and it explain everything about your site in your description area with the sign up button. It also show that what can i do with your site as it listing the schedules, facts&figure, etc. But it doesnt show how it works. i would like to see a simple steps by steps slide shows about how your site works. it doesnt have to be long. it just simple about 6slides is enough. When i see the want to watch a video, i dont feel like watching it. nothing attract me to watch the video. i suggest you can directly showing the video in the home page and auto play it whenever people visit your site. I like the five thing theory and take the test feature as it showing people that they need this service and the purpose of this service. But the keywords doesnt make people feel like clicking it. I suggest that you put a keywords which saying something like “Find out why you need firefields” or “the purpose of signing up”. this look more straghtforward and give people a clear view.

Do you think site would apply to you personally?

probably no, but if there is thing that can help manage and organize thing in our life why not? and it’s free! But it’s not really attracting me atm.

The site is completely free and you can sign up using Facebook. Are you able to sign up?

    Yes.

Once you sign up, what is the first thing you think you should do on this site?

When i just signed up and logged in, i dont really know what should i do, i see the add friends, create new profile , etc. But i dont really know what should i do first. I suggest that you can add a pop up or a simple guide suggesting newbie what to do first.

Think of someone who owns a small business or runs a sports team or organization, do you think they’d benefit from this site? Why or why not?

yes, If the people find out that your site is useful and is at their comfort then it will be yes.

Please let us know any feedback/comments about the site and anything that’s not clear or doesn’t make sense to you.

Your site homepage looks simple and comfort with people easy understanding what the purpose of you site. But people might get confuse of how to use it and how to start it after signing up. the instruction is important and keep it simple and short. you can list down all the benefits and also good feature that you have in the home page to attract visitors to register for your site.

  7. Please visit https://www.firefield.com and take a look at the homepage. What do you think this website is for?
Just from looking at the homepage? Some kind of organizational software. But then I find the tagline, “more than a social network,” confusing because that suggests that the site is actually a social network and not an application of some kind. I think your summary here on StartUpLift explains it better than your homepage does, although even with this explanation, I feel like I would have to dig further into the site to really get a feel for what it’s about.

Take a look at https://www.firefield.com/answers – is this helpful?
Yes, I do think I have a much better understanding of your site after reading this page. However, I have to comment that I don’t love the color choice and layout, especially toward the top of the page. The combination of red, green, and gray along with the Firefield logo make me think of some kind of automotive service like Firestone. I don’t know why. I just get that vibe off those colors and the logo. Also, what I see here is just another social network until I get to the bottom and read the nine “powerful features.” Some of these differentiate you from the competition, so I would rearrange this page and move these powerful features up higher. I would make the whole “So, what is Firefield?” section smaller and maybe save some of the details for later. For instance, lots of social networks allow you to create a profile for a person, a group, an activity, or an event. This isn’t really new. So instead of wasting space with the copy and the large logos, you might just show four or five small logos and explain them more fully further down the page. Then, under “What’s different about Firefield?” you could jump straight to the nine “powerful features.” This stuff about admin controls and friending without permission is interesting, but I don’t think it’s as big a draw as the stuff under “powerful features,” so I’d move this section to the bottom.

What do hate and/or like about the homepage?
Again, the colors of the homepage don’t say “social network” to me. In my mind, a social network has more peaceful colors. I just can’t shake the vibe that this is a site for some kind of automotive company.

This is the first I realized that your four main features have pop-up info. I think you should add just one line or two of copy beneath each one that summarizes that feature and then add, “Click here for more!” The pop-ups provide a lot of detailed information, which I like, but I don’t like the fonts and colors. There’s black, green, red, tan, gray…large fonts, small fonts…stuff that’s bold, stuff that’s highlighted. It just creates an impression of confusion. I think it would be better if you stuck to black with maybe some red for highlighting or headlines and chose just one headline font and one text font. Either center your points or align them flush left but not both.

“The 5 Things Theory” is kind of cool, but as it is now, I don’t know if most people will be curious enough to click it. Underneath the button, I think you should add a line or two that says, “Take the test to find out if Firefield is right for you!” That way, new users will know that clicking the button will help them figure out if this is a service that can benefit them.

Your video goes so fast and has so much zooming in and out that it actually makes me dizzy! And how about some narration instead of just music? This isn’t Pandora. :)  Also, now that I can see an example of your service, I have to say that it looks very busy. I think one of the things people like about Facebook is that the layout is so simple. This is kind of the anti-Facebook–lots going on. But it’s too much for me. I’d like to see more of a happy medium.

Do you think site would apply to you personally?
I’m not a big fan of social networking for various reasons. I do like that your site seems to provide more control over what information is posted, shared, and kept private, though.

I think the main problem with starting a social networking site is that Facebook is such a huge competitor. It’s like going up against Microsoft. You need such enormous resources to compete. At some point, the Facebooks of the world become monopolies just because they’ve attracted such a giant share of the populace that it becomes a compatibility issue for folks to use anything else. That is, if all your friends are on FB, you’re going to join FB. I personally don’t use any social networking services, but if I was going to use one, it would have to be FB simply because everybody is there. But if Firefield started to get popular and I wanted to be part of a social network, then yes, I might use it.

The site is completely free and you can sign up using Facebook. Are you able to sign up?
Yes. I would’ve preferred to see the activation email notice on a separate page or as a pop-up in the middle of the page, though. I think it gets a bit lost in the upper margin of the homepage. I’m not a big fan of confirming registrations from my email account. I find that to be a pain in the neck. But, yes, I got the email, and yes, the link inside it worked.

Once you sign up, what is the first thing you think you should do on this site?
    Definitely create a profile.

Think of someone who owns a small business or runs a sports team or organization, do you think they’d benefit from this site? Why or why not?
Well, that would be me. I have a small business. If Firefield got popular, then yes, I’m sure my business could benefit from it. I’ve really held out on creating social networking profiles for it, but I’m sure that would help. Why? Because more exposure can’t hurt.

Please let us know any feedback/comments about the site and anything that’s not clear or doesn’t make sense to you.
Now that I’m inside the site, again, the green, red, tan, and gray is just too much. Please simplify the color scheme and consider softer, more visually appealing colors. I feel like my impression from the video was correct–my dashboard is very busy. For instance, do we really need two different buttons for “See Your Profiles” and a third for “Go to Your Profile”? Couldn’t these be combined?

I played around with my profile and ran into some issues. For instance, I tried to create an activity. The first time I hit “Create Activity,” it took me right back to the same page, as though I hadn’t provided the necessary info (which I had). The second time, it took me to an error message: “Oh, this is embarrassing, but we can’t find the page you’re looking for…” I backarrowed and tried it again. Same thing. Then I recorded something under “Facts & Figures,” and it was accepted, but then it didn’t show up on my profile page. So I don’t know what the deal is with these glitches. However, I can say that everything was easy to find, and I liked the privacy controls that you offer. One more thing I’d like to see, though, is some kind of help page. “See Answers” and your question mark icon just take me back to https://www.firefield.com/answers. I don’t need to see this again. I need to see some instructions for how to use your service and what to do if I run into glitches like I did.

Bottom line: I think you offer some features that might potentially compete with Facebook, but you need to highlight those features a little more aggressively. That tiny little link to “What’s Firefield?” in the upper margin? That’s not going to be seen. That link needs to be more prominent, and the page it links to needs to display your unique selling points right upfront. Also, I’d seriously rethink the color scheme. In addition, there seem to be some technical glitches to work out.

  8. Sorry, just wanted to make a correction and don’t seem to be able to edit this entry for some reason.

    The following sentence…
“So instead of wasting space with the copy and the large logos, you might just show four or five small logos and explain them more fully further down the page.”

    …should read:
“So instead of wasting space with the copy and the large icons, you might just show four or five small icons and explain them more fully further down the page.”

I’m talking about the icons here, not your logo. Don’t know why I called them logos. Sorry for the confusion.

  9. Please visit https://www.firefield.com and take a look at the homepage. What do you think this website is for?

When I first went to the homepage I was very confused on what this website was about, but once I started to look around I could realize that it’s some kind of organizing that lets you communicate with friends.

Take a look at https://www.firefield.com/answers – is this helpful?

The question and answer page was sort of helpful. It was not quite what I expected. It was very messy and kind of hard to understand. Most users browsing will be very turned off because today people don’t have the patience to figure out what the site is.

What do hate and/or like about the homepage?

What I like about the homepage is, its very simple on how to signup. You can sign up via facebook which is a great tool, seeing as almost everyone has one now a days. What I didn’t like about the homepage was nothing grabbed my eye. It needs some kind of eye catcher that defines how different it is from the other sites.

Do you think site would apply to you personally?

No, this site would not apply to me personally. If this site grows like the pace facebook did, eventually this site could apply to everyone.

The site is completely free and you can sign up using Facebook. Are you able to sign up?

Yes, I was able to sign up using my facebook. Very easy.

Once you sign up, what is the first thing you think you should do on this site?

The first thing I feel I should do is add a friend. The icon is right there for me.

Think of someone who owns a small business or runs a sports team or organization, do you think they’d benefit from this site? Why or why not?

Yes I do think they would benefit from this site because, you can put groups on here and have everything very organized within your group. Saves time sending out emails to everyone or making phone calls.

Please let us know any feedback/comments about the site and anything that’s not clear or doesn’t make sense to you.

Everything made clear to me, I would just add, that I would consider making the homepage more clear cut. Let the user know exactly what your site is.

  10. Please visit https://www.firefield.com and take a look at the homepage. What do you think this website is for?
I think that the homepage is well laid out and easy to navigate.  I think the website is for friends and family or groups to keep in touch and have plan activities.  It is great to have a calender so that each member can refer to it for planned activities.
Take a look at https://www.firefield.com/answers – is this helpful?
The answers were helpful but I think more information to each tab would be even more helpful.  I do like the visuals that are attached to the answers. That helps new users.
What do hate and/or like about the homepage?
I especially like the lay out of the homepage and easy navigation, as mentioned above.  New users would be more apt to stay a member.  What I didn’t like was the name of the website.  I think the name “Firefield” doesn’t relate to what the site is about.  Off the top of my head, something like “Collectionfield” referring to the collective would be more closer to what the website is about.
Do you think site would apply to you personally?
Personally, yes.  I don’t get to see or talk to my family too much and sadly, when I do see them, it is usually at a funeral.  And at that time, we all talk about how we should all get together at another time but that is how it ends.  I think that this website would be great place to plan an event for families to plan events like family reunions.
The site is completely free and you can sign up using Facebook. Are you able to sign up?
I am not a member of Facebook and have no desire to become a member. But in the future, I would consider becoming a member of a website such as yours.
Once you sign up, what is the first thing you think you should do on this site?
The first thing that I would do is ask my family that I mentioned above to join so that we could plan a gathering such as a family reunion.  And assign tasks to different members of the family.
Think of someone who owns a small business or runs a sports team or organization, do you think they’d benefit from this site? Why or why not?
I think that small businesses would benefit from this site especially if there are remote workers.  It would be a great site for the small business to hold like a conference call and use the calender to assign deadlines on tasks that need to be completed.  The same for sports team/organizations.  I think that this site would be a helpful tool.

The answer to the next is entered here:  (having problems trying to keep the cursor underneath it)

I think that changing the name of the website would be helpful.  Have the name fit the intention of the website more. Please let us know any feedback/comments about the site and anything that’s not clear or doesn’t make sense to you.

  11. Please visit https://www.firefield.com and take a look at the homepage. What do you think this website is for?
The website allows me to be organised and manage things I want to.

Take a look at https://www.firefield.com/answers – is this helpful?
Although I like the interactivity, I must say that it is way too crowded. The answers are given more priorities over the questions, which it should be the inverse. You want to user to think “Do I need this question to be answered?” and if they do, they will read on, if not, they can just go to the next question and do not lose their time.

And I say all this, because when I got into the page, firstly it did not have the appearance of a “FAQ” section, I honestly saw the questions AFTER I saw the answers which is pretty bad, considering that I did not know what you were talking about.

After having read the answers, I must say that they are very informative, and very interactive as well. I particularly liked the “relationship levels” diagram, but they are just a bit too aggresive. So, to answer your question YES this page’s information is useful, but you could probably display it better.

What do hate and/or like about the homepage?

    LIKES
    + Beautiful graphics
+ Direct and straight forward ( “Organise and manage all the things in your life” )
    + Awesome logo
+ Suitable and colorful color scheme
+ Allows log in with facebook OR to create another account
+ Gives a very brief overview of your website ( Schedules, facts & figures, interactions, collections )
+ Can click on the features to get more information about them
+ “Privacy Concerns” is put forward in an interesting manner, as compared to the over-used “Terms of Privacy”
+ Provides video as demo, upon request of the user. You don’t “bang” it in the user’s face
+ “5 things theory” is a great interacting tool and shows me how your website can benefit me

    DISLIKES
    – Color Scheme is too contrasting ( red, green and blue are all opposite colors, and thus are a bit aggresive. Consider using their tones more. eg: pale blue, darker blue, gradient blue, etc…)

    – It is not very clear that you can get more information by clicking on the features icons. Consider using a “More details” text

    – No actual insight into your website from the homepage, I need to watch the video or get more details about the features to know exactly how your website feels like. Maybe include a picture of the inside of your website?

    – “The 5 things theory” has not a very clear purpose from the homepage, I honestly did not consider clicking it. Give a brief explanation about it such as: “Test your management needs”

Do you think site would apply to you personally?
For me personally, not really. I don’t have much management to do and I am fairly organised by myself. Furthermore, I do not really like the idea of putting my “things” to be done, on an online website. Specially when it is in the beta version. So, your website has no real use to me.

The site is completely free and you can sign up using Facebook. Are you able to sign up?
Yes, I could sign up using facebook. It was very straight forward and simple.

Once you sign up, what is the first thing you think you should do on this site?
First thing that I noticed is that I need to create a profile.
I did not notice it after a while though, the page was too crowded. My eyes were wandering everywhere….
I think it is due to the aggresive green that you use. Maybe it is just me, but that green hurts my eyes.

Think of someone who owns a small business or runs a sports team or organization, do you think they’d benefit from this site? Why or why not?
I think yes they would. Simply because, for a small business or small team, your website can handle it pretty easily. It is really not a big deal, and your website is free, so why not?

Please let us know any feedback/comments about the site and anything that’s not clear or doesn’t make sense to you.
You website is unfortunately not very friendly. In my profile page, I really have no idea how to organise my stuff, how to manage them. Please consider providing a “tutorial” video, or some “steps” as you go demo.
“steps as you go” mean for example: a floating box would tell me, “click here to start setting up your profile”, and then “click here to organise your things”. It would make things much clearer.

I hope those feedbacks will be helpful to you. Good luck!

  12. Please visit https://www.firefield.com and take a look at the homepage. What do you think this website is for?
This website is for building a profile on Facebook.  This is a another valuable tool to publicize and promote your self and more business by building a personal profile.
Take a look at https://www.firefield.com/answers – is this helpful?
Yes this is very helpful.  The pops ups, pictures, and explanations are all very clear.
What do hate and/or like about the homepage?
I like the logo, the colors, and the easy login and Facebook login tabs.
Do you think site would apply to you personally?
Personally, no! I do not own a web site and I am not very big on social networks because of privacy issues.  Even though I would like to promo myself or business I tend to be more traditional.  Yet, most people in this world are using Facebook as means of promoting their businesses.
The site is completely free and you can sign up using Facebook. Are you able to sign up?
Again, I am a traditional person and not up to date on social networks.
Once you sign up, what is the first thing you think you should do on this site?
I would go to the tabs to see what the best use for me is.  I was able to find one with pictures and that look like an easy way for me to promote myself or a business.  The activities and other listings seem to be helpful, but at first I would at least upload my personal information before getting too technical into my social eating, movie watching, spending, and other social activities.
Think of someone who owns a small business or runs a sports team or organization, do you think they’d benefit from this site? Why or why not?
Absolutely!  I’ve heard that Facebook is the up and coming for people to promote their business and/or website. For sports team superstars they are constantly bombarded with letters and mail.  For example, a woman who wants to get in touch with Brett Favre for tiger Woods would just mail their personal pictures in a letter to the locker room.  With this tool, you could promote a new club or organization in a matter of minutes, and include meeting places and other social activities to boost memberships.
Please let us know any feedback/comments about the site and anything that’s not clear or doesn’t make sense to you.
A simple design fooled me after I win and saw the features.  After pop ups and explanations  the ease of use on this site made me understand the value of the social network and what all this discussion has been about using Facebook as a means to publicize your business.

  13. Please visit https://www.firefield.com and take a look at the homepage. What do you think this website is for?
    – “Organize and manage all the things in your life” sprang into my eyes first, as well as four pictograms: SCHEDULES, FACTS & FIGURES, INTERACTIONS, COLLECTIONS, which made me think that this social website would be similar to  Google Wave and Google Docs (but now I think I was wrong).
Take a look at https://www.firefield.com/answers – is this helpful?
+ Generally very good explanatory diagrams.
    – Text “FREE” on the corner belt on two first sections makes me think that the rest is a pay service.
    – First row could be removed, as it is self-evident or less important and unique about this website.
    – “REQUESTS It’s up to you.” and “MATCHES Firefield is different.” are totally obscure. You should give at least the slightest hint what REQUESTS and MATCHES mean?
    – In INTERACTIONS it isn’t clear what is meant by “Enjoy a clean history of posts without emails.”
    – RELATIONSHIPS is rarely used as a synonym of “access levels”, so it may be confusing and should be renamed to ACCESS LEVELS or ACCESS PERMISSIONS
    – In CONNECTIONS it doesn’t mention what types of connections exist besides friends and fans!?

What do hate and/or like about the homepage?
+ Attempt to organize the interface, but the interface is so rich that I still coudn’t orient myself in it. I would recommend using menu similar to browser’s tabs.
    – Dark, depressive colors. Use brighter and lighter colors instead!
    – Explanatory pictures lack humanity. Repaint icons more human-like or include real human photos, like in this link: https://www.firefield.com/answers/matches

Do you think site would apply to you personally?
+ I was eager to try it, because I hoped it would import and organize my information from other social networks (and I wouldn’t have to enter all my existing information once again), but I was wrong.
+ I was also eager to try it, because I hoped it’s FACTS and FIGURES function would somehow help me to collect my information in a “library” and track new information too, similarly to RSS reader, but I was wrong.
    – I couldn’t see how Firefield actually ORGANIZES my things at all. So far I’ve found only 1 such organizing tool – Google Wave (and partially Google Docs and Google Sites).

The site is completely free and you can sign up using Facebook. Are you able to sign up?
+ Yes I succeeded to sign-up with Facebook without any problems.
Once you sign up, what is the first thing you think you should do on this site?
+ I explored all types of entities e.g. (they menu
Think of someone who owns a small business or runs a sports team or organization, do you think they’d benefit from this site? Why or why not?
+ Any group having a common place for discussions online would benefit.
+ Slightly more tools for group interaction than average social network (Schedules, Files, Collections)
+ Schedules (essential for planning) seem to be even better than Facebook’s Events.
+ Making pages public outside of Firefield – so anyone without Firefield san see it like a web page, but does it allow to leave visitor comments for non-signed-in non-Firefield users?
    – Closed teams normally people use e-mail to discuss online, and move their discussions to social portals ONLY when majority of team members already use that service (Facebook, Myspace and nothing else).
    – I don’t see any SIGNIFICANT difference from Facebook pages and groups, other than MATCHES for which I can’t imagine very SIGNIFICANT benefit yet.

Please let us know any feedback/comments about the site and anything that’s not clear or doesn’t make sense to you.
    – Why couldn’t COLLECTIONS be used like FOLDERS with all kinds of data, not just Collection Items (which are actually Notes).
    – The name FACTS confuse me, implying to contain general data like highest mountain on Earth, thefere I would re-brand them as PERSONAL FACTS or PERSONAL DATA or PROFILE’S FACTS.– Practical use cases (e.g. a short auto-play YouTube video or user pictures with their experiences) should be presented on the start page to encourage users to sign up.– The menu “Dashboard, Profiles, Interactions, Schedules” inconsistently disappears when going to my profile.
