  1. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
From looking just at the home page I gathered that this was a site that played no games, straight forward and simple. I got the feeling that it was for people on the go and have no interest in hassles, just the job done well.
    2) Convert Word to PDF? Was the process straightforward? Was anything confusing?
The process was not confusing, it was very simple and straightforward just as the homepage suggested. I thought using this service was great because I had to do this a while back and it took me a while to find a site that offered this service and even when I did they asked way too much information, they are still sending me emails.
    3) Convert Pdf to Word? Was the process straightforward? Was anything
    confusing?
I did this process and everything seemed pretty simple and I was a little worried that it wouldn’t work with my word because I’m using a specific year but it did and I was able to open my file.
    4) Convert Txt file to PDF using e-mail? Was the process straightforward? Was anything confusing?
The process was very simple and my file was sent quickly, the other site I used delivered my file to my email in a manner of 2 days. This was a better service and worth the membership.
    5) Are you encouraged to sign up for a paid membership? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
After using the service I was encouraged because they allowed me to see just how quickly they can satisfy my needs. It is a site that is confident in its service.
    6) Are memberships pricing are clear and right? Was anything confusing?
The membership prices are clear and seem just to me. Nothing was confusing.
    7) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
I went to see PDFonline to compare both sites and I preferred them site mainly because they had a free trial not just an example like your site. I also liked that they offered peoples testimonials right in front to back up their services. The perks in their site were better than yours so I did prefer it.
    8) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
Aside from adding comments from satisfied customers I wouldn’t mind seeing better perks and incentives in order to entice possible customers to this site.

  2. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?

Simplistic, yet attractive. Easy to navigate. It shows you what you want right where you want it.

    2) Convert Word to PDF. Was the process straightforward? Was anything confusing?

Very straightforward and easy to do–hardly took any time at all. The site is set up very well. I think having it available for download or Google Docs is appropriate and efficient. Makes it simple to convert a file quickly and share it on my Google Docs with friends or co-workers.

    3) Convert Pdf to Word. Was the process straightforward? Was anything confusing?

Not confusing at all. The only problem was once the file was validated, I wasn’t sure if I needed to select it again when converting or if it was just taking time. So I ended up trying to convert two files. It is a bit inconvenient to have to wait after making a mistake before choosing another file for upload.
    4) Convert Txt file to PDF using e-mail? Was the process straightforward? Was anything confusing?

Again, straightforward and easy to do. The site’s set up is simple–that isn’t a problem.

    5) Are you encouraged to sign up for a paid membership? Can you tell us why (or why not)?

The membership requirement is actually a bit of a turn off, since there are many other sites that will do the exact same thing for free.

    6) Are memberships pricing clear and right? Was anything confusing?

All pricing options are clear. Nothing confusing about that.

    7) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?

https://en.pdf24.org/onlineConverter.html–not as attractive of a website. But the whole thing appears to be free. As of now I prefer that, because it does not give me a 30 minute waiting time.

    8) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.

I think this site has phenomenal potential. It is simplistic and attractive and that combination makes for a desirable website. I don’t have a problem at all with there being a required membership–having a website that quickly converts is documents is incredibly worthwhile. However, I feel the 30 minute wait period for the next document may turn off many potential customers. Because if I make a mistake and find out that I have to wait 30 minutes, I will go somewhere else and I will find something that’ll do the job, instead of paying the $9 a month (because I haven’t even had the chance to try out the site fully yet). If you could revamp that clause and possible have a trial period in membership sign-up, that may help. Or shorten waiting time to 5 or 10 minutes.

All-in-all, this is a great site with much potential. I think it’ll be handy for people to use, especially with it’s quick processing and connection with Google Docs.

  3. 1) I see a very simplistic site, which is refreshing when compared to so many of the cluttered sites our there today. It is straightforward and to the point. One suggestion I have would be to format the site better for larger screens. It almost seems incomplete because there is so much empty space on my browser. I am using Chrome and have a resolution of 1920×1080.

    2) The process to convert a word file to a pdf file was very easy and simple. The resulting pdf looked exactly like what it should.

    3) The first thing I notice is that I have to wait 30 minutes to do this next conversion. This is quite disappointing to me. Before I commit to any type of membership, I would like to be able to do several conversions to validate the efficiency and accuracy of the system. I would recommend signing up for an account and getting 5-10 free conversions. After the free conversions, implement the wait period or pay to convert plan.

After waiting though, the process was simple and accurate.

    4) Once again, after the annoying wait time, the process was easy and straight forward. My only thoughts are the security of a system like this. I have not seen anything regarding encryption or other security features. This could be a big turn-off to many potential business customers.

    5) I’m not really encouraged to sign up for a paid membership due to the waiting reasons mentioned earlier. I know upon membership, the waiting will be removed, but it has left a bad taste in my mouth. If I were a small business owner or something similar, I would probably get a membership. This is assuming that there are security features in place though.

    6) The pricing is clear, but I think that the 50 conversions for $29 is too much. I’m a college student, and I could see myself doing this if it was something on the order of 10 conversions for $3-$4. There is currently no model for someone who just need to do a couple conversions here or there.

    7) I found pdfonline.com and I tend to lean towards it. It has no wait time and is free, all the time, up to a certain file size.

    8) My only other comment would be to rethink the free version of the converting.

  4. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?

I thought this was a great idea for a website because i have often had documents requested in PDF form that i did not know how to convert. I wasn’t aware that such a website existed. I personally like the option to convert to powerpoint.
    2) Convert Word to PDF? Was the process straightforward? Was anything confusing?

I found it to be very self explainitory I like that entering an email is optional. I do not like to enter my email for everything i use and fill up my email with spam.
    3) Convert Pdf to Word? Was the process straightforward? Was anything
    confusing?

No i found it very simple to use.
    4) Convert Txt file to PDF using e-mail? Was the process straightforward? Was anything confusing?

I like this option as well because i feel like you can get tech support if you are having trouble figuring out the site.
    5) Are you encouraged to sign up for a paid membership? Can you tell us why (or why not)?

I found the prices very reasonable if I were in  a postion of having to convert several files or either work or school purposes.
    6) Are memberships pricing are clear and right? Was anything confusing?

No very easy to find and straight forward,
    7) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?

The only option I found that might be more attractive from other websites were free trial memberships.
    8) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have

Overall a very straightforward and simplisitic site. You may want to utilize some free services or possible pay as you go type plan that does not involve having to purchase a membership.

  5. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
The homepage is not used to “sell” the brand or product with reasons. It just gets right to the service. You get right to the service.

    2) Convert Word to PDF? Was the process straightforward? Was anything confusing?
The process is straightforward. Nothing confusing here. I’d rather not give my email for this service.

    3) Convert Pdf to Word? Was the process straightforward? Was anything
    confusing?
Can’t convert for another 30 minutes. That’s annoying. I’m sure the process is pretty simple, and I might actually use the pdf to word service. I would rather you place ads on the page for revenue rather than push paid memberships. I can’t see ever paying for this service. I’d just find a free alternative. I know there are some.

    4) Convert Txt file to PDF using e-mail? Was the process straightforward? Was anything confusing?
Limited by 30 min. wait period. Can’t test this feature at this time.

    5) Are you encouraged to sign up for a paid membership? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
No. Nobody pays for memberships for things like this anymore. Too many free alternatives (with ads).

    6) Are memberships pricing are clear and right? Was anything confusing?
The membership pricing page is pretty clear. Nothing confusing, but you really need a “free with ads” option.

    7) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
PDFOnline.com website is much more attractive, with testimonials on the homepage. They offer pdf to word, and vice versa for free.

    8) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
You offer services, but the catch is a 30 min. wait. No good. I think this will hurt your business.
You need a free with ad option and you need more for your website. It’s rather dull, and one dimensional. You need to sell to us why you are great and so much better than the competition. I don’t get that at all. When compared side by side to the competitors, your site does not look premium or come out on top.

  6. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
It looks very spartan. This is a good thing. The title and heading explain exactly what this site does. I am not confused in the slightest. I do think there should be an “about us” and “contact us” link at the bottom of the page somewhere. These links have become almost standard on everyone’s home page, and there is certainly sufficient empty space that you could add them without being obtrusive.

    2) Convert Word to PDF? Was the process straightforward? Was anything confusing?
OK, I will clicked on the tab that says “PDF Converter.” I then selected my .docx file and hit convert. Looks good so far, now I’ll just download it and see how it looks…Comparing it to the original, it looks remarkably faithful. There are several fonts and formatting styles used, including different colors, and they all look very faithful to the original.

    3) Convert Pdf to Word? Was the process straightforward? Was anything
    confusing?
OK, I will click on the tab that says “PDF to Word.” I selected a PDF file from my HDD, chose docx format and hit “Convert.” Oh, well I guess I have to wait 30 minutes.
Uh oh, it gave me “Processing Failed” message. Perhaps my file was too large — It was an ebook. I will try again with a smaller file. OK, I see that I must wait 30 minutes again before converting another file, so I will go do something else and come back in 30 minutes. I think that in case a conversion fails, you should probably not count that against the timer, at least for the first few times.
OK, now I am trying it again….OK, it worked and the resulting document looks fine.

    4) Convert Txt file to PDF using e-mail? Was the process straightforward? Was anything confusing?
OK, I clicked “PDF by E-mail” and am following the instructions…OK I got back my download link. Unfortunately, it looks like the resultant file doesn’t have a .pdf extention by default. I had to manually choose which program I wanted to open it. A minor inconvenience, but perhaps off-putting to those who are not tech-savvy enough to know what to do. The document itself looks fine.

    5) Are you encouraged to sign up for a paid membership? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
I am not encouraged to sign up for a paid membership. The service looks very good, but I only create a very few documents. Perhaps 20 per month. And I rarely need to convert them. When I do need to convert documents, I usually can find a way to do it for free, using OpenOffice or GoogleDrive. But I think there is likely a big market for FreePDFConvert among professionals who work with hundreds of documents.
    6) Are memberships pricing are clear and right? Was anything confusing?
Everything looks ok…except why offer the “50 Conversions” membership? Surely, someone with 50 documents to convert would just get the “1 month” membership and then cancel it when he’s done?
    7) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
OK, I am going to Google now and entering “PDF ODT DOCX converter.” The first result is freefileconvert.com. It looks like they offer unlimited conversion for free. Their interface is clunky, but seems to work. I have converted one of the same files with them that I did using FreePDFConver.Their PDF file looks worse somehow than yours does, although I can’t pinpoint why.
Nevertheless, I think I would be more likely to use their services, since I am just a casual user, and free is a tough price-point to walk away from.

    8) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
The 30-minute timeout is VERY annoying. Perhaps you could allow 3 conversions without any delay, but then a 1.5 hour timeout before the 4th, 5th, and 6th?

  7. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?

Looks great! basic and simple is always best. Need pictures or something on the side though it can appear a little too empty. Maybe a bigger interface or generic photos on the side.
    2) Convert Word to PDF? Was the process straightforward? Was anything confusing?
Basic and easy. The converting words could have been bigger to realize what its doing i didnt know what was happneing after i clicked convert.
    3) Convert Pdf to Word? Was the process straightforward? Was anything
    confusing?
Also just as easy, i see there is a membership restriction. The pink bar at the bottom of the page should be moved, it looks like an ad bar, it doesnt look like it belongs to the same site.
    4) Convert Txt file to PDF using e-mail? Was the process straightforward? Was anything confusing?
Yes i received the email pretty promptly and was easy to download the file.
    5) Are you encouraged to sign up for a paid membership? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
Me personally no because i can always print or save to pdf, plus i dont need the dile type that much. But i can see this being a definite tool at the office or at a college.
    6) Are memberships pricing are clear and right? Was anything confusing?
Everything was setup up correctly, but i would add size and color to distinguish and flair up the page because its slightly bland as of right now.
    7) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
i googled and came up with https://docupub.com/pdfconvert/. i prefer your site because its sleek new and has a ton of different extension and document types to convert to.
    8) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I just suggest a tad more flair to the site but not too much because the basic design gives it a modern  ede from all the others.

  8. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see? Site looks professional, neat, and has a minimalist feel (no clutter). I can tell right away what the purpose of the site is and how to use it with the “1. 2. 3. 4..” steps. The quick instructions are a nice added feature, although as simple as it is to understand, it would hardly be needed. I do see a membership button which makes me wonder if there will be some ads displaying on my pdf if I do not pay for a membership.
The logo could use some enhancements to make it stand out more and be more memorable. The current logo does not convey the user-friendliness that the site suggests.

    2) Convert Word to PDF? Was the process straightforward? Was anything confusing? The process was very straightforward. I clicked the Select… button to select a file from my folders. Then I clicked Convert (since email was optional, I skipped it). There was a status notice letting me know that it was in process of converting. Once it was done, there was a big green Download File button – clearly so I can download the generated PDF and view it. Nothing at all confusing about that. Could not have been easier.

    3) Convert Pdf to Word? Was the process straightforward? Was anything confusing? I selected a PDF file and immediately received “Validation Failed”. I thought perhaps I did not select a pdf file, by mistake. I tried to select a pdf file again. The Validation Failed showed up again. It was only after that second time that I read the text to the right under Links – there is an timed interval limit. If, instead of “Validation Failed” it said something like “Please wait 3 minutes”, that would have made it clear that my file is correct, it is just that I need to wait. Also, if there is a countdown timer so I’ll know when it is ok to upload a pdf, that would be very helpful.

    4) Convert Txt file to PDF using e-mail? Was the process straightforward? Was anything confusing? After selecting my file, I think the Select button should disappear and the focus be sent email field. Otherwise, the file pops up in the bottom area so quickly, I can hardly tell anything happened.

    5) Are you encouraged to sign up for a paid membership? Can you tell us why (or why not)? I am not encouraged to sign up because I would use the pdfconverter tool so infrequently, it would not be worth the cost. Also, there are other pdfconverters I could find that will convert my files for free. Lastly, I don’t mind having to wait 6 minutes before I can hit the button again. If the end result is quality, that would not matter to me.

    6) Are memberships pricing are clear and right? Was anything confusing? I think the pricing page could be formatted differently to show the information more clear. The membership type and the pricing are an odd combination as the type indicates the payment duration (ex. 1month type = 9/mth). Seems like repetition. The bottom with which features are used by Members vs. Non-members could be more visually appealing. Perhaps checkmarks instead of “Yes” and “No”.

    7) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why? The company I selected was “https://docupub.com/pdfconvert/” (B) to be compared to PDFConverter (A). “A” is visually more appealing. “B” shows 3 steps and while not visually appealing with colors or graphic, it does look like it is very easy to use. I noticed “B” has an option to either download, or enter an email address. B also offers different versions of pdf output. B also provides option to add your own watermark to the file which is a very nice feature. “A” allows for multiple files at once while B only allows one upload at a time which is less desirable. B also gives the option to rotate the pages. I haven’t needed to use this in the past, but it is a good feature to have as well.

    8) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have. When I did the test of the text file to pdf using email, I never received the email in my inbox (also checked spam).
