  1. Spend 5-10 seconds on homepage (login using your email and invite code: STARTLIFT11) – what do you think the site is about?

It would not let me sign in, kept saying invalid email address. Just by looking at the main page, it looks like this website is to help increase sales if you had multiple websites.  It looks like the webpages could be different depending on the location of the reader

Return to the site and watch the video and/or read the How It Works page. Which of the implementations do you think would be good for your company’s site? Why would it be useful to you? Whether or not its useful for you, what is the goal of your website?

Since I don’t have a business, but if I did, I probably would only have one location.  So then the go to local tab would work better for me in that instance.  Now, if I have multiple locations, I could chose one of the other 2 depending on the audience I was trying to target.  I do like the automatic re-direct option, I know that when I am looking at a site, I do not like to have to filter thru different pages until I can find what I am looking for.

Sign up for a Silver Free Trial (use invite code: STARTLIFT11) and go through the process of signing up for a trial. Is any of it confusing?

This process was very easy.  I did like that it took less than 2 minutes to sign up and didn’t have to go thru a long drawn out process like some sites make you do

Login and try to set up GeoSkipper. What is confusing, unexpected, or not there that you wish was there?

It was fast and easy.  Nothing out of the ordinary when signing in.

How would you measure the ROI of GeoSkipper for your site?

I am assuming that is what the Analytics tab is for.  This is the place that would keep track of the stats depending on the plan that you sign up for.  For a business owner, this would help then know how successful geoskipper if for their business and if its worth the cost of the site.
Now without being able to see exactly what the data looks like, it would be difficult to know if this information would be useful to the owner.  However, if it had the daily traffic info, and then stats to show increase or decrease on a daily basis and maybe the area where the traffic is coming from.  These might be useful info for that business to have so they can see how this website has helped increase revenues

I think GeoSkipper has something to do with the location of your customers. Tracking where they are coming from. I did register with your code but once logged in, I am bugged to keep my account active, more so than what to do with my account. The getting started part is confusing.

Return to the site and watch the video and/or read the How It Works page. Which of the implementations do you think would be good for your company’s site? Why would it be useful to you? Whether or not its useful for you, what is the goal of your website?

I like how you have how it is easy to install and use. Suggestion for “How to Video”: either get a professional voice over, or the voice that doesn’t seem so monotone. The voice used doesn’t seem to be an excited person. It is informational, but it doesn’t get me excited about your service. It almost sounds painful to listen to because the person is telling me out of duty rather than out of an overflow of excitement. The goal of my website is to convert visitors into paying customers. Location does not really matter to me because my website is based solely on visitors clicking on ads.

Sign up for a Silver Free Trial  – Done. I don’t like the keep my account active part. I would rather get an email reminder when I have 5 days left, rather than see this every time I log in.

Login and try to set up GeoSkipper. What is confusing, unexpected, or not there that you wish was there?

Logged in. The process seems straightforward. Nothing confusing about it. The User interface is simple.

How would you measure the ROI of GeoSkipper for your site?

Well, if I was getting a lot of ad clicks and I looked back on the day/week and could pinpoint that they are all coming from one geographic location, then I would see the benefit of seeing where they are coming from. I could then do research to advertise more for that region or country. That is how I would measure ROI of GeoSkipper.

     Actionable suggestion:
I think your site needs more personality. You have all the basics, and get right to the point, but it doesn’t feel friendly, fun, and inviting. Like I said, the how to video achieves how to, but lacks in warm and fuzzy. I think you could benefit by finding a picture of a smiling face or even some sort of mascot that people can tie to your brand. I don’t believe your how to video is enough for your brand image. I believe you need an identifying Image in the center of your homepage, and have a button that says, “Watch the how to video” or “Watch the tutorial”, and have a really professional image in the center of your screen. I also don’t know how I am feeling about the orange. It feels “Halloween-ish” but I don’t feel like it add to the professionalism. Blue is always a safe color, because it is supposed to give a positive mood. The orange is not working for me.

  3. Spend 5-10 seconds on homepage (login using your email and invite code: STARTLIFT11) – what do you think the site is about?
I cant login as it saying that invalid email. First, i like your page layout, which give me a professional feel toward your website when i first visit. With your Description easiet way to customize web content, i know that your site is providing an application or service to help people customize their website which is like tracking visitors base on location. Your service provide people create a more consistent site which can increase their sales and also for a more effective marketing purpose by recording or tracking the visitors locations.

Return to the site and watch the video and/or read the How It Works page. Which of the implementations do you think would be good for your company’s site? Why would it be useful to you? Whether or not its useful for you, what is the goal of your website?
First, about the video. The video did not seen attractive and understandable for me. The video is straight to the point talking about how your service work which is really great. But the way it presented doesn’t look attractive. I suggest that you should auto play the video once someone have visited your site instead of clicking it. Make the sound more attractive and attract people attention. Also keep the video short around 1mins, as people dont really have patient in watching long video. i would prefer the automatic re-direct which is more convenient for the users. Which i target different country people with different buying needs and wants. They can easily reach the page which suit their purpose. The goal of my website is to get more visitors for buying stuff which have different categories.

Sign up for a Silver Free Trial (use invite code: STARTLIFT11) and go through the process of signing up for a trial. Is any of it confusing?
The signing up process was definitely easy and simple which does not require many steps.

Login and try to set up GeoSkipper. What is confusing, unexpected, or not there that you wish was there?
After i logged in, the page displayed is confusing. I saw three rows of comments displayed and add site at the bottom. First, i don’t know what i should do next. I suggest that the 3 rows i mentioned, you can display it using other ways such as displaying a big and attractive box greeting welcome. Or maybe u can show 3boxes showing the steps or instruction of how to get started. It will looks more professional. The overall look simple which is good as people like a simple site which is easy to use.

How would you measure the ROI of GeoSkipper for your site?
It would be a great service which i will have interest in joining. As i can build a customer relationship through geoskipper, i can know the location of buyers which i can aim for different product for a different location in the future. It may return a great customer value for my business in the future.

  4. Spend 5-10 seconds on homepage (login using your email and invite code: STARTLIFT11) – what do you think the site is about? At first glance, I think the site is about a way to increase visitors to your website.

Return to the site and watch the video and/or read the How It Works page. Which of the implementations do you think would be good for your company’s site? Why would it be useful to you? Whether or not its useful for you, what is the goal of your website? I think the JavaScript Targeting implementation would be most useful for my site; I could target viewers that have a specific interest in earning money online, which is the goal of my site onlinemoneywithpgs28.yolasite.com/

Sign up for a Silver Free Trial (use invite code: STARTLIFT11) and go through the process of signing up for a trial. Is any of it confusing? No.

Login and try to set up GeoSkipper. What is confusing, unexpected, or not there that you wish was there? I could only see those without an Invite Code feeling like this short set up process is confusing inconvenient.

How would you measure the ROI of GeoSkipper for your site? I would measure Return On Investment by measuring the volume of viewers and sales since signing up for GeoSkipper. Since there is a free 30 day trial offer the profit would be 100% of the amount for that month.

  5. Spend 5-10 seconds on homepage (login using your email and invite code: STARTLIFT11) – what do you think the site is about?

It looks like a module that will direct website visitors to predetermined pages, based on their location.

    Home Page Comments:

I understood that from the sentence, “The Easiest Way to Customize Your Web Content to Users’ Locations,” but the sentence itself, I think, is a little confusing or hard to take in. When I first read it, I thought it was about customizing the user’s location. How about…

The Easiest Way to Deliver Location-Relevant Content

Eight word vs. 11 (shorter is always better, easier to remember). You’ll probably think of something better, so it’s just a suggestion.

I really want to congratulate you on a well designed home page here. There isn’t a lot of clutter and you state, in simple terms, what your product does. I like the “What Can GS Do for You?” section.  You resisted the tempation of divulging all the information on the home page, while still providing visitors a taste of how this will apply to their projects.

Also, the video offered a very good explanation of the service – I wish I didn’t have to click “play” twice, though.  It would be nice if the video played directly on the home page too, instead of in a pop-up window. One more thing.. “Welcome” at the beginning of the video wasn’t necessary. It seemed abrupt. I would suggest removing the phrase entirely or replacing it with “Welcome to GeoSkipper”.

    Signup Comments:

I thought the signup process worked very well. I was offered an easy and organized list of plans and didn’t have to input a lot information.

After successfully registering, though, I’m taken to a page that looks totally different from the site I was just on. I’m guessing you’re using a different CMS to manage this part of the site. In fact, I can see that it’s something by “Root Orange”.  The really bothersome part is that the colors don’t match the rest of the site. This could be easily changed through the stylesheet.

Also, I’m looking for a message that says “Start Here” or “How to Get Started”. There isn’t one.  I’d like to see a how-to page or video that will walk me through setting this up for the first time.

I’m going to go back to the main site now, to answer the remaining questions. I click on the GeoSkipper logo, but it just takes me back to the account sign-in/setup page. Can there a be a link to take me back to the main home page?

Return to the site and watch the video and/or read the How It Works page. Which of the implementations do you think would be good for your company’s site? Why would it be useful to you? Whether or not its useful for you, what is the goal of your website?

    See video comments above.

I like that there are three different implementations, and they are explained well on the “how it works” page. For the websites I manage, location isn’t an issue. But if I were able to target ads based on some other qualifier, I would definitely make use of the third option.

Also, we do some freight with my husband’s site. I wonder if GS could somehow be implemented on a freight quote page to automatically detect the users zip code and calculate rates that way?  Now I’m wondering how customizable this solution is, and if it could be somehow modified to serve other purposes.

Sign up for a Silver Free Trial (use invite code: STARTLIFT11) and go through the process of signing up for a trial. Is any of it confusing?

    See comments above.

Another note: I noticed after I go back to log in   (versus the sign up page), I have the option to login with Facebook/other services.  I don’t remember this during the initial signup process. Perhaps it was there, just not noticable. I am hesitant to use them now, because it might mean creating a new account.

Login and try to set up GeoSkipper. What is confusing, unexpected, or not there that you wish was there?

See comments above about a how-to. Also, the whole setup is confusing. When I’m on the Add Content tab, I can’t click back to SIte Settings to change something I might have set incorrectly.  I expect to see it set up as “for each (these conditions or zip codes) do this (insert code/action)”. It’s actually backwards from that.  I set up an action, it seems, then the conditions.

Oh, now I see. The first step is “default” text.  You can then add qualifiers/conditions.  This was confusing.  Some help bubbles to explain each step in more detail would be nice.

Getting the install code was fairly straightforward.

How would you measure the ROI of GeoSkipper for your site?

I would probably measure it by whether or not sales/visits went up after the install, but would definitely take an in-depth look at time spent on the site after implementing GS.  If the length of stay took a dramatic upturn, I’d say GS is doing its job.

Neat and really useful idea.  This is something I’d like to see implemented on a lot of sites, especially telephone directories!

  6. Spend 5-10 seconds on the homepage (login using your email and invite code: STARTLIFT11) – what do you think the site is about?
It seems to be some sort of plug-in that would respond to user IP addresses by customizing the site for the user’s geographical region. (Note: After watching your video, I found out that this is NOT what your service does, so I’d say that the homepage copy is not that clear.) I find that your summary here on StartUpLift explains this somewhat better than your homepage does. Just from reading the homepage, I’m not able to picture how my site is going to be personalized for each user, so I have to dig deeper to find that out.

When I tried to log in, I got a message that my email was not valid. I was prompted to create a free trial account. After this, I clicked the GeoSkipper logo to return to the homepage, but it did not return me to the homepage, and I had to use my back arrow.

Return to the site and watch the video and/or read the How It Works page. Which of the implementations do you think would be good for your company’s site? Why would it be useful to you? Whether or not its useful for you, what is the goal of your website?
First I watched the video. This took forever to load, although that could easily be because I’m currently using a laptop that doesn’t have a lot of juice. The video had an attractive, professional look and narration and helped me understand what your service can do for me concretely in a way that the homepage copy does not. The “How it Works” page (which, FYI, should really be “How It Works”) did a decent job of explaining the same information in the video, but I would’ve preferred to see screenshots of each option to accompany the copy. Also, I wasn’t sure why you repeated the selling points from the homepage at the bottom of “How it Works.” That seemed redundant.

For me personally, the most useful part of your service would be the JavaScript ad targeting. While my web site wouldn’t lend itself to the automatic re-direct, I think that could be quite useful to some web businesses too. Basically, anything that integrates with the site so that the user has a seamless personalized experience is great. Your JavaScript ad targeting and automatic re-direct allow for that kind of experience; the site is personalized for the user, but the user is not aware of it. On the other hand, I’m not as enthusiastic about the go local tab because it forces the user to take action and click on it in order to personalize the site. I suspect that many users won’t notice the tab or think about using it.

You asked about my business specifically. It generates income through a subscription-based service as well as through advertising and affiliate marketing. Therefore, the geographically targeted ads would be most useful to me.

Sign up for a Silver Free Trial (use invite code: STARTLIFT11) and go through the process of signing up for a trial. Is any of it confusing?
I clicked the sign-up button on the homepage, which took me to “Plans.” (By the way, your subheads should either be written in traditional sentence style with normal capitalization and periods or in headline style, fully capitalized but without periods. It should be one or the other, not both.) There’s quite a jump between your silver and gold plans. What if I have two or three websites but not five? Would I still have to pay the full price of the gold plan? And again, I was a little surprised to see those same old selling points from the homepage repeated at the bottom here. Just seems like a waste of space by now. Anyway, I went ahead and signed up. It was easy and not at all confusing. I like that you offer a 30-day free trial and don’t force me to give you my credit card information upfront, which would make me suspicious that I was going to end up getting charged anyway. I also like that you offer live phone as well as email support. I didn’t notice this until I had signed up, yet many people will want to know about this before committing, so I’d love to see your contact info in the upper right corner of your homepage or at least on a contact page.

Login and try to set up GeoSkipper. What is confusing, unexpected, or not there that you wish was there?
From my dashboard, I wasn’t really sure how to go about setting up GeoSkipper. I clicked the “Add Site” button, thinking that would be a good bet. That took me to what looked like the first of three steps. I noticed links to a video and a guide. I clicked the video first but was disappointed that it a) took me off site and b) turned out to be the same marketing video I saw on the homepage, which doesn’t help me at this stage. Then I clicked on the link to the “What’s Right for Me” guide and was surprised to be taken to a Support/FAQ page that I previously didn’t know existed. It would’ve been nice to see a tab for this on the homepage or at least on my dashboard once I signed up. Anyway, I checked out the guide and thought it would be useful to users who were still trying to decide which of your services to employ. I was a little surprised to discover at this point that I would have to be a Java programmer to use your JavaScript targeting. That was a disappointment to learn that at this stage. Wish you had been clearer about this before I signed up. As I clicked through to the next page, I realized that I would have to go find the Java code for my ads and paste it in here. Not an impossibility, but that’s going to require a lot of work. Again, I wish I’d known that before I signed up. I thought you were actually going to give ME some code to paste into my site. Even though it wouldn’t be that useful to me, I decided to try the go local tab for now instead. When I set that up, I wasn’t crazy about the color selection, but okay. At this stage, I was confused about what the tab should actually link to. You mentioned that “you can use this option even if you don’t have any pages on your site with geographically relevant content.” How would that work then? What URL would I be linking to?

How would you measure the ROI of GeoSkipper for your site?
I see that you have an analytics service, which I’m assuming measures clickthroughs and maybe conversions. I would really love it if you explained the capabilities of your analytics features more fully. Where the heck is that FAQ page? Maybe you explained it there, but how do I get back to it? Why is there no tab for that in my navbar?

I know you didn’t ask about this specifically, but when I was done with your questions, I went back and just had a look around the site. Again, I’m puzzled by how inaccessible the FAQ/Support is. The only way to get to it seems to be via a small link when first picking a geo-targeting style. Disappointing! From there, I had a closer look at the FAQ and realized that it only addresses a couple of basic set-up questions about which geo-targeting style to choose. But, as you surely saw above, I had some other technical questions about set-up. Wish the FAQs were a lot more extensive.

I finally found your contact page all the way at the bottom of the home page. Why are you hiding this down there?

I continued to be surprised that you continually put your selling points from the home page at the bottom of every single other informational page. Again, this is a waste of space.

Your blog was not up yet, so I couldn’t comment on that, but I visited your “Features” page, which was the only one I hadn’t been to at that point. Here, you list all your features in a sidebar and force users to click on every one to read it even though you only have one or two sentences for each. I’d combine all this into one longer page. Users are more likely to scroll down than to click repeatedly, and the page wouldn’t even be that long considering that you have just one or two sentences per feature.

My overall impression is that you have a really good idea, particularly with the automatic re-direct and JavaScript targeting, for reasons I stated previously. However, implementing your service is a little more challenging. I’d like to see an FAQ or user guide available even before I sign up so that I know what I’m getting myself into and certainly afterward too. In fact, once I sign up, I’d like to see you walk me through the process more. You start out strong by helping me choose between your three main features, but then I’m not quite sure how to implement each one.

  7. Spend 5-10 seconds on homepage (login using your email and invite code: STARTLIFT11) – what do you think the site is about?

    · At first glance, I would take this website to be about SEOing my website content for local search query of various search engine platforms. At my second, more detail scan of the homepage it appears to be about pulling existing web content from search engines based on my geographical location, that is relevant to my search.

Return to the site and watch the video and/or read the How It Works page. Which of the implementations do you think would be good for your company’s site?

    · I find that the auto-redirect is the most relevant to my website potential needs.
Why would it be useful to you?
    · Do to the number of affiliate programs I sponsor and the various services and products featured on my network, would be the underlying reasons.
Whether or not it is useful for you, what is the goal of your website?
    · The goal of “MY” website is to serve as an individual consultant to person(s) interested in starting and/or growing their existing business. My services include business proposal writing and business planning preparations. I also offer several platforms of marketing and network services at my location.

Sign up for a Silver Free Trial (use invite code: STARTLIFT11) and go through the process of signing up for a trial. Is any of it confusing?

    · I signed up for the Bronze already. The signup process in place is extremely easy and the redirect to the back office account is one click process. This process although convenience for the client is not smart to do without email confirmation before back office accessibility is given. This reassures that you have the email address owner permission themselves for the account setup, rather than someone whom my know the email owner information, this can become critical on down the road.

Login and try to set up GeoSkipper. What is confusing, unexpected, or not there that you wish was there?

    · See aforementioned answer regarding verification process in regards to the logon question, other than that logging in went flawless and uninterrupted.

How would you measure the ROI of GeoSkipper for your site?

    · I would rate my ROI (Return on Investment) to break even in the first year of using GeoSkipper, however I could see where I would gain positive gains possibly within the 3rd quarter of my second year of use based on current values demonstrated in my business and comparison to your membership level enrollment and monthly maintained fees.

  8. Spend 5-10 seconds on homepage (login using your email and invite code: STARTLIFT11) – what do you think the site is about?
This website is about getting more traffic by customizing websites.  I think this website has a good concept, but the actual explanation of the features were very awkward until I signed up.
Return to the site and watch the video and/or read the How It Works page. Which of the implementations do you think would be good for your company’s site? Why would it be useful to you? Whether or not its useful for you, what is the goal of your website?
I believe if I were to have a restaurant chain that the locality would be a great feature.  He would not believe how many people actually go to Restaurant websites and can never find their location.  Having the locality makes users find the chain in restaurants that they are seeking.  As a great feature specially if you’re at a hotel were traveling you look up the website for the rest of annua automatically are directed to the location you’re looking for.
Sign up for a Silver Free Trial (use invite code: STARTLIFT11) and go through the process of signing up for a trial. Is any of it confusing?
Once I was able to see that would be getting 100,000 hits, but the silver plan, then I realized the value of this service.  When I first read the features, I was rather confused as to JavaScript of this and that on exactly how I would be getting those hits.  I believe this was a great concept and actually talked about this idea and some of my other reviews.
Login and try to set up GeoSkipper. What is confusing, unexpected, or not there that you wish was there?
The one thing that I noticed rid off the bat was that there was no WWW and from the website address.  When I try to copy and paste the address my toolbar I cannot log into the website.  There’s no http not make it impossible for the normal user to enter an GeoSkipper and it in their browser and try to land on the site.  I think of the majors problem.
How would you measure the ROI of GeoSkipper for your site?
Again with almost all websites there is a failure to explain the features into ordinary languages that we can all understand.  For example you should just say you’re getting hits we have the software and locality to make sure you getting a sense; all this nonsense about java script and and this and that may kill a lot more confusing for someone who actually owns a web site such as a restaurant and can use the feature like locality to make people and hotels find the rest of the need.  This should be simple enough to explain, yet you have to go through the entire menu just to get an understanding.  So overall, I feel that this concept and the prices are great, but I feel the explanation of the features need some work.

  9. Spend 5-10 seconds on homepage (login using your email and invite code: STARTLIFT11) – what do you think the site is about?
Before logging in and just having a quick look over the home page I think the site is about something that customizes your website so the content is relevant to the users location. By looking at the home page without playing the video I’m not sure what it actually is, if it’s a plug in, application or program.

Return to the site and watch the video and/or read the How It Works page. Which of the implementations do you think would be good for your company’s site? Why would it be useful to you? Whether or not its useful for you, what is the goal of your website?
First of all I watched the video and right from the start it seems a little unprofessional. I don’t think the voice is well recorded and at times the narrator speaks a little too fast. Also I can’t actually read any of the text on the “Go Local” tab because it’s far too small on the screen, maybe the video could zoom in so the user understands what the narrator is actually talking about.

Then at the end of the video the narrator says ” Here we have an actual Geo Skipper customer Geo.com”. Does this mean all the other sites featured aren’t actually paying customers? This is how it came across to me as the user and if this is the case it is very misleading.

From the video I understand what the finished product is but I still don’t understand the difference between the plans or what each feature offers. I think you need another video or help section on the “Plans” page to explain what each feature includes.

The video or the home page still doesn’t tell me this is a plug-and-play tool. I only know this by the description you have put here on startuplift.

By watching the video I think this would suit bigger companies with various outlets in different locations. For example restaurant chains, retail chains, health care facilities etc.

Then I go to the “How it Works” page and I find the information a lot easier to read and understand than the video.

Sign up for a Silver Free Trial (use invite code: STARTLIFT11) and go through the process of signing up for a trial. Is any of it confusing?
The sign up was pretty straight forward once I actually found the page. There is no button on the navigation bar that reads “Sign Up”. So the first thing I clicked to try and sign up was the “Login” button. This took me to a page that was clearly only for users that already have accounts. Usually on a lot of other sites the “Login” page also has a button that links to the “Sign Up” page as this happens a lot, users getting muddled up and ending up on the wrong place. You could have a button on that page that reads “Not a member? Click here to sign up for a free trial account”.

There were no navigation buttons to return back to the home page or any of the other pages so I attempted to put in an email address and password which clearly wasn’t valid. This message finally came up “Email is not valid. HAVE YOU CREATED A FREE TRIAL ACCOUNT YET?”. I clicked on the link and that took me to the “Plans” page. Near the bottom of the page I finally found the button “Sign up for Free Trial”.

I wouldn’t expect to find the sign up button on the “Plans” page so I think on your home page or navigation bar you need a button that clearly reads “Free Trial Account”.

Once I signed up then there were no clearly visible navigation buttons to get back to the Geo Skipper home page. By clicking on the Geo Skipper logo this took me back to the home page but this doesn’t clearly read “home page” it was only by coincidence that I actually clicked it.

Login and try to set up GeoSkipper. What is confusing, unexpected, or not there that you wish was there?
I logged in and clicked “add site”. Finally I find out more information about how this could help my website with the “Review the “What’s Right for Me” Guide“. In the real world this would be too late as I would have left the site long ago. This information needs to be available before customers pay their money.

How would you measure the ROI of GeoSkipper for your site?
The return on investment is hard to gauge as the plans page is confusing and I’m not sure as a website owner what I’m actually getting for my money. What does “Automatic Re-Direct with Customization”, “Unlimited International Targeting” and “Automatic Re-Direct with Customization” all mean. There is no further information on what each of these features offer for my site. You need to further explain what each of the features is and what they do. Either by having a definitions dictionary at the bottom of the page, video or by clicking on one of the plans and it takes you to another page that goes into simple, understandable detail.

I think bigger companies with a lot of locations would see a good return on investment. For a small outlet with only one or two locations I don’t think it would be worth it.

    Other Observations
On the navigation bar there is no “Home” button. You have to click on the logo to return to the home page but some users will not realize this.

The web site doesn’t represent a professional company with a great new idea. The plug and play tool you have may be great but the website doesn’t sell it for me. I wouldn’t feel comfortable paying money to the company because your office which in this case is your website looks unprofessional.

The navigation bar is also plain and too simple.

  10. Spend 5-10 seconds on homepage (login using your email and invite code: STARTLIFT11) – what do you think the site is about?

From the homepage, I am pretty sure that your website is about modifying a website in such a way, that it will appear differently in various locations. For example, someone from Australia wouldn’t see the same format as someone from France.

It wouldn’t let me sign in. It keeps asking me to create a free trial.

Return to the site and watch the video and/or read the How It Works page. Which of the implementations do you think would be good for your company’s site? Why would it be useful to you? Whether or not its useful for you, what is the goal of your website?

I currently do have a commercial website, and as such, your website is not very relevant to me.

Sign up for a Silver Free Trial (use invite code: STARTLIFT11) and go through the process of signing up for a trial. Is any of it confusing?

Nop not at all. What fields need to be filled up is crystal clear. The process is straight forward and no one should have any problems signing up.

Login and try to set up GeoSkipper. What is confusing, unexpected, or not there that you wish was there?

Why can’t we select all three options? It is a shame that I can’t have all three at the same time…

I figured out that you simply give a java/html code to include on the website, thus I can have all three if I wanted to. But I will need to repeat the steps 3 times. I understand that I need to select one by one because the fields to be entered are simply not similar. I need to fill in different fields for each option. But still, you should have checkboxes instead of radio buttons, to show that all three options are available to include in your website.

As for the different fields to be filled in, you could just elongate the process, althought it would be a bit boring. The choice is yours. Functionality versus Simplicity.

Your website should be able to detect web addresses with no “http” in front. You said that no technical skills were required, and the average user wouldn’t know what the http means and where you should put it. And furthermore, your error message repeats the word “URL” twice. It gives: “URL URL must start with https://“.

What is the “Billing Information” for? It is quite unexpected… Do I have bills? I am assuming that those are for the montly payment required to keep your account active, but I am currently on a free trial for one month, and you should put a notice such as “You are on a free trial – No bills” or something similar.

How would you measure the ROI of GeoSkipper for your site?

I would measure it by using both actual stats before signing up for your service and compare it to both the stats after and the analytics tool in your website. If there is a big differences between your analytics tool and my stats, I would doubt that the ROI is exceptional.
But, if my stats were usually more, and increased in trends, my ROI would be really worth it. I would be able to calculate, from past stats and the surplus of visitors, the average amount of money that I accumulated. That is if I had a business.

As for recently opened website, it would be really hard to know if the ROI is worth it or not. Probably just try a few months without your gadgets and add them later on, and observe the difference.
But as I said, for businesses which have been there for a long time, tracking those difference is much easier, because of variations in their graph stats.

As you did not ask for other feedbacks, I will not comment on them.

I hope that I helped you, and if you wish for more details, ask me!

  11. H_game, thanks for the feedback. If you have more feedback outside of the questions we asked, please feel free to add on or email me cacosta {at} geoskipper dot com.

  12. As you have asked for additional feedbacks, I shall give them to you:

    HOMEPAGE

Nothing to say here, a “commong” homepage that I see pretty much everywhere now. It is the typical small header, one big block of body, and footer. Although it is common, it is still pretty effective. It takes me into what you business does immediately, I wouldn’t change it.

I love your video, it shows clearly what is inside your website. But I must say that it was quite a disappointment when I discovered that your website did not do what I expected it to do. What I thought, was that your website would be enable me to “store” various web formats, and that when a particular visitor from a specific location goes in, the format would change. That would be pretty awesome, if it is possible. What your website does, is provide a few lines of codes to redirect the user to my various different website. True it does what you said, but is a bit of a disappointment.

You button “Sign up for free” is misleading, you do not sign up for free, you sign up for a free trial. Misleading information can be frowned upon, you should be careful here. You can still attract people without using these misleading words. For example “Try it for free” is as catchy as yours, and is less misleading.

    OTHER TABS

Okay, I surfed around your website for abit, and honestly the “Sign up for free” appears everywhere… It is not annoying, it is VERY annoying. Remove it. Just include it in some key pages, not all.

I like your “features” page, it is detailed and tells exactly what your website is capable of. The only point I will make, is that it is boring. Too much texts, not enough pictures. Include a few pictures here and there, and that should improve the interest of the features page. Also, I find it quite annoying that for all the sub tabs in the features page, there is only a few lines of texts. You could have included all of them in one page, without the use of subtabs, and it would fit quite nicely. Simply because you don’t have much information to include. Every time I click on a tab, it takes a few seconds to load, and it is irritating. You could even include those information in a slideshow as well.

You might consider changing the format of the FAQs page. It does not look like a FAQ page, but more like a “comment” page, which makes me doubt about its credibility.  I like the fact that you plan on including “Tips, Tricks and Use Cases”, that’s one thing that most websites do not include. You might even consider giving it, its own tabs. Because personally, the prefer to read “Tips and Tricks” rather than “FAQS”.

From the FAQS page, when I click on your logo, I do not go to your hompage but rather to a different homepage with the URL https://geoskipper.com/ instead of https://beta.geoskipper.com/. I had to come to startuplift, and click the URL you gave here to go back to the beta homepage.

    AFTER LOGGING IN

It is pretty evident that I have to add a new website, and as such that’s the first thing I did. On that part, everything is good. You show the steps required on top and that reassures me of how many steps I will have to make in order to complete the form, which is good.

You field called “Site Name” is misleading. At first, I thought that I would be creating a whole new website from within your website, but it is not. It is simply asking for a label for my website, so that I can differentiate it from other websites. You might consider changing that to something else, such as “Existing Site Title”. As said previsouly, you might want to include checkboxes instead of radio buttons.

For the “Go Local Tab Colors” you might want to provide a sample to the tab, because most people won’t be able to picture how the tabs will look like. Furthermore, you can provide the whole array of color spectrum, to provide more choice to the user. It is not that hard to make, and will be very rewarding.

Oh you actually have a preview function, but underneath. Add another one beside the colour choices!

The other features are pretty self explanatory. And it is quite easy to figure out what to do. Mainly because of your consistency. It will take around the first few tabs to get used to it, and afterwards, it is easy to pick up what needs to be done.

That’s all for me, Hope those feedbacks will help you, Good luck!
