About JobGizmo:
JobGizmo is a web app, browser widget and mobile app that allows job seekers to keep track of all of their job search activity from one centralized location. Stop tracking your job correspondence through the sent folder of your email inbox or through an excel spreadsheet. Just use JobGizmo to keep everything together, so that you can spend time looking for work, not looking through emails.
I spent a couple of seconds on the main page and thought the website was about organizing job website links, managing job interview times and locations, and keeping important contact lists and information all in one place. In other words, helping a job seeker keep everything they need, from job hunting to interview information all together.
Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site. What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
So far I’m finding having to click on so many links to get the information on both the browser widget and the phone app a bit bothersome. The site has a good look, but not enough written information on what the apps actually do, instead of the images shown. It appears you would have to actually download the widgets or apps to really see what they can do, instead of reading the information ahead of time to see if it’s something helpful for the average user.
I do like the blog with the information on job interview tips, job search tips and information on how to get noticed in a job interview. The pricing might be a bit high for some users who may have not had a job in awhile, as some free apps can do some of the same things.
What do you think of the sign up process?
The sign up process appears simple and easy to accomplish. I also like that there is a live help if a user runs into problems at any point during the process, or has any questions using the applications.
Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?
I wouldn’t sign up for a free trial or account at this time. I personally don’t use many online job hunting websites, unless it would include information for freelance work as well; then I might consider it.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like jibberjobber.com and becomed.com?
The website is comparable to jibberjobber.com, however becomed.com is ceasing operations, so they are no longer competition. Jibberjobber seems to have a way to track potential job leads as well as open job searches and interviews; of course this might well be the same as this site’s bookmarking of job hunts and contact information. The main difference I can find, is jibberjobber.com has more information links on the main page so new users can figure out more easily what the site is about.
Any additional thoughts I have would be, I like that a user has the opportunity to download either to a phone or a computer for easy use. I might think about the pricing and maybe have different payment plans so those only using portions of the app wouldn’t pay as much; or even a trial discount for new users. I would also put more information on the main page on what the app does, and maybe a FAQ.
