1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
I love the picture of the water and mountains. This is very calming to me. Everything is displayed very well organized and easy to read.
2) Think of something you want to find on this website. Now try to find it.
I wanted to find out more about the types of services that you provide.
Did you find what you were looking for?
Yes
Was anything confusing?
Nothing was confusing. I really liked the section that explains how it works. That section came in handy.
3) Imagine that you are seeking psychotherapy. Are you encouraged to contact me?
I would contact you after seeing all your Affiliations, and summary of skills and qualifications.
Is there anything that you would like to know or hear as a potential patient that is not present?
Yes, I am not able to find how many years you have been in business and I would like to see some customer reviews/referrals.
Is there anything that turns you off?
There is not anything that turns me off. I think everything looks great.
4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer?
I prefer yours over the one I found.
Why?
Your site was much clearer and easier to read. You site was very personal and warm compared to the other site, theirs felt more like a hospital or clinic and they did not have any pictures of the Psychologist.

Overall, I really liked your home page setup. Upon landing on it, I felt calm viewing the picture with the water and mountains. I have Panic Disorder and believe that you would be perfect for me, if I lived in your state. I would suggest removing your contact information from the home page since it is the same as your “Contact” link at the top. I think it would look much nicer and cleaner since you already have your phone number and email address showing at the top.
1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
I like the home page arrangement and style. It classic, easy-to-browse and the colour pallet for is good. The picture on the front is also beautiful, suggesting a tranquil, peace of mind which suit the purpose of the website.
At least, the message the website want to tell is clear, the information, purpose, contact, etc. There is no unnecessary words or picture in the website as sometimes it make people too lazy to read all, especially for home page. But the website is opposite of it and only contain what people want to read and know.
2) Think of something you want to find on this website. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?
It is easy to find things as most of the important one is already listed in pages on the upper site. Not only that, if one doesn’t find what they want, there is the contact page on the lower site which make it easier instead of having back forward just to find contact. I think this is very useful and handy.
I’m very satisfied for the ‘About Me’ Section as most of the background is covered, not much to hidden. This is very important factor especially for this as people need to know if the person is trustworthy or not. Nothing confusing as far as I browse the website so it’s good.
3) Imagine that you are seeking psychotherapy. Are you encouraged to contact me? Is there anything that you would like to know or hear as a potential patient that is not present? Is there anything that turns you off?
If I’m seeking psychotherapy, I’m probably interested to contact if I do live in California. If not, I probably still contact to see if you does a online consultation or have to see face-to-face consultation. I would also like to ask my condition first to see what can you explain to me about my condition and what kind of treatment you can give based on my condition, as this will make me help to decide better.
I think this is easier to do as there is the contact section where I can write what my problem is. Beside that, I don’t find anything that look off or make it hard to make won’t contact you.
4)Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
I find one site, anadubey.com, which offer a similar service but a bit different target. The layout is quite similar, scroll to below to find more. But I like yours more as there is the contact form on every page. Not only that, the colour the other company use is a bit more distracting than relaxing. The colour is more suited for a hotel website rather than a psychologist website.
The only thing I like is ‘The Affiliations’ of that website, which give a bit credibility on like Review on Yelp and A Member of American Psychologist Associations. Maybe yours can used something that similar like that too.

Not much I like to say because your website is likeable already. But if it doesn’t hurt, maybe you can add Opening Day and Hours on your address. So that people won’t feel afraid to bother you when they’re coming if you’re still in the working hour. Or not going home disappointed when they find out you’re not there when they come.
1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
My initial impression of what I see is a feeling of peace. I believe that is based off the picture in the middle of the page. It makes you feel calm and less nervous/anxious about the subject matter. I noticed that just about all of the information you would ask is almost answered immediately by just looking around the home page. All of the contact information, location of the office and a brief summary of the services offered is all found conveniently for someone like myself who is visiting the site for the first time. It saves a lot of time looking around trying to find what you are looking for.
2) Think of something you want to find on this website. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?
The first place I went to was the About Me section. I expected for it to be longer than what it was not I actually like that it was a quick summary of skills and qualifications instead of long paragraphs of basically reading off your resume. The “Experience with Minorities” part intrigued me the most. When I first saw that the office is located in Oakland, the first thing I said to myself was “Wow that’s a rough city”. I’m not from California so the only thing I know about Oakland is its reputation.
The next section I went to was FAQ and this is were I became confused. When I clicked on FAQ itself it took me to a page with questions about therapy. However when you just hold your mouse over FAQ, a drop down tab about Depression and Anxiety come up. Im not sure why it’s like or if it’s just out of place.
3) Imagine that you are seeking psychotherapy. Are you encouraged to contact me? Is there anything that you would like to know or hear as a potential patient that is not present? Is there anything that turns you off?
Just based off of what I’ve seen from the site, I might be hesitant to contact but I still would. The hesitation would just be based on the subject matter itself and being nervous about it but as stated before just going off of the initial impression, I would be less nervous about it. On the front page it says Anxiety, Depression or Mood Issues, Relationship Issues and Childhood and Adolescent Issues however, under Services I expected there to be more detail about these issues. For instance, what would go under the umbrella of relationship issues? It’s very vague and not exactly clear to me. Maybe it’s supposed to be that way and I’m just unsure because I dont know much about therapy but it could turn someone off because they may not be sure that you are able to help them with a specific issue.
4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
I used Google to find a company in my state that provides similar services.I was immediately overwhelmed when I went to the page. This company has several different locations all over the state in big cities (none convenient to where I live) with dozens of therapists and the only way to contact someone is to fill out a form for someone to email you back if you not currently a patient at any of their locations. I would not contact this company at all because I am left with the impression that I’m just another patient to them whereas with this company it’s a more personal feeling.

Overall, I like that the website is very simple and clean and has a more personal feeling to it and helps to put you at ease about a topic that makes others nervous and anxious. If I was to give it a rating of how it is currently now I would give it a 4.5/5. With a few minor adjustments to the things that I mentioned above I feel as though it would be 5/5.
1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
My initial impression of the home page is that it is clean, crisp and informative.
2) Think of something you want to find on this website. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?
I clicked on the “Therapy for Children” button on the home page, which took me right to the information regarding therapy for children. Again, this page is informative, but to the point. I did find what I was looking for, which was information about therapy for children. Nothing was confusing. My only suggestion is in the middle of the page, under “How It Works” on both the children and adults page, where you have the 3 buttons that are in green with white text in them – to bold the text or change the text type, as it seems that the text gets lost in the button and could be hard for some people to read the text clearly. The green buttons on the home page are easier to read than the “How It Works” button.
3) Imagine that you are seeking psychotherapy. Are you encouraged to contact me? Is there anything that you would like to know or hear as a potential patient that is not present? Is there anything that turns you off?
I am encouraged to contact you, as your website is informative, but also to the point. Maybe some testimonials that are anonymous, as I realize that not everyone would want the whole world to know that they are their family is in therapy, would bolster your reputation. Additionally, I believe that you should list the insurance(s) that you accept and your fees, as this is a financial decision for some families.
4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
I compared your site to https://janvitekphd.com/ and I like your site much better. The other site has text that is hard to read, in my opinion, which happens to be the office and phone number of this psychologist! His website is too “wordy” whereas yours is informative and straight to the point.
5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
Under “Teaching and Supervision”, I believe that there is a typo in this sentence, “My research experience has also deepened my the quality of my work.” I believe that the second “my” should be “by”.
1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
Looking around the homepage, my first thoughts were that it looks calming. The colors are nice and the banner at the top is a nice touch.
I feel like there are too many straight edges/sharp corners though. It makes the page feel stiff for me.
Scrolling further down, I find the info provided concise and easy to read. It’s nice that I could get that much info at the homepage.
The alternating colors for the sections helps a lot but it seems a bit crammed. Maybe adding more space between the sections will help.
I feel like the footer is unfinished. It might be because of the empty space beneath the text.
2) Think of something you want to find on this website. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?
I was wondering about the rates but I couldn’t find anything about it. The site is easy to navigate though.
While I was searching the site, I checked the FAQ page and noticed that it had two sub-menus (What is Anxiety, What is Depression). I actually overlooked these two pages once I got to the main FAQ page. I was expecting that there will be a link pointing to these sub-pages from the main FAQ page so I ended up forgetting about them. Some people might also miss these sub-pages or the main FAQ page itself.
3) Imagine that you are seeking psychotherapy. Are you encouraged to contact me? Is there anything that you would like to know or hear as a potential patient that is not present? Is there anything that turns you off?
The site feels positive/assuring so I feel encouraged to contact you although it would be nice if I know the rates beforehand. Other than that, everything is fine.
4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
I found http://www.drmariog.com.
I prefer https://dev2.smsdesignlab.com/wp/ because it looks more professional. The drmariog site feels more informative though in terms of FAQs (such as the “Common Questions” and “Rates & Insurance” pages).

About the banner in the homepage, the word LIFE is a bit difficult to read.
The only issue I have with the site’s pages is that it feels too crammed. The layout seems to lack some spacing between the elements/sections. Maybe cutting down on the horizontal rule/lines will also help.
Also, the contact form on all the pages feels too redundant for me. It makes it easier to send a message but I prefer to use a Contact button/link instead.
Overall, the site is good. It’s simple yet professional and easy to navigate.
