Visit https://www.landlinesaver.co.uk Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
Landlinesaver (LLS) looks like a phone service provider for land line based telecommunication/internet services.
In your opinion, was the loading time of the site faster/slower than average?
Loading time for the page was fairly fast (3 seconds while also downloading email)
Did you notice any text/graphics that appeared displaced, if so please include the name and version of your browser in your comments.
None of the images or texts appear to be displaced.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
LIKE: The site is easily navigable, everything is laid out in a manner that is sensible and easy to read/scan. Information seems very complete, allowing a good sense of comparison between plans and services offered.
DISLIKE: The site feels a bit crowded.
Does the site/content give you the confidence to sign up via one of the links published on the site?
As said, the site gives very complete information on different services and plans. I browsed to some of the companies you present to see their information and how it compares to that on LLS and found that the information provided is very reliable. As such, I would feel confident using Landlinesaver to help me choose an internet package.

How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like http://www.broadbandgenie.co.uk?
Between Broadbandgenie (BBG) and LLS, I find that LLS has a better home page that provides a better sense of ‘direction’ (meaning, it is easier to find where you want to go). LLS provides a complete list of the services provided by each company presented as well as a comparison between companies for specific services. BBG only provides the comparison lists.
In regards to page layout, both have a similar feel, though again, LLS feels easier to use.
Are there any features that you feel we could add to Landlinesaver to enhance our customers experience?
Being able to sort/adjust the comparison charts by costs, speed, download limits would be a nice feature (you already have ‘sort by best sellers’). This will allow you to easily see who costs more/less, who provides more/less data, etc. Also, if you know a company is providing a special offer, to have a ‘hot deals’ or ‘special offers’ page. I noted that most companies you present have special offers, but unless you click on all the companies presented, you don’t know and can’t compare what offers are available.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
The site is certainly good. It is easy to navigate, find information and compare products, as well as link to the companies represented. While the homepage looks a bit cluttered, everything is sensibly placed and easy to find and navigate around. The opening information block for each company also seems a bit crowded (maybe a little more spacing between lines?). Visually, the greenish background gets tiring, and the green ‘telephone providers’ menu looks a bit amateurish. Â
Site worked well with Safari and Google Chrome on Mac 10.6.8

The site is offering its clients a chance to compare phone and broadband services out of the UK.
In your opinion, was the loading time of the site faster/slower than average?
The site loaded in good time. It did not take an extreme amount of time for your site to load.
Did you notice any text/graphics that appeared displaced, if so please include the name and version of your browser in your comments.
The site is very well organized and displays the services in a logical order. I do not feel that any of the text is out of place or should be displayed in another order or sequence inside the site.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
The displayed contents are easy to read, the navigation is easy to follow, the presented order and comparison of site carries is easy to follow. Your services are nicely laid out and easy to understand.
Does the site/content give you the confidence to sign up via one of the links published on the site?
Your prices are very competitive if I lived in the UK I would be willing to try your services and sign up with your company. I like the comparison with others services providers in your area. This gives me a chance to shop and compare prices in one location. I can also check on the other competitors in your area and see what they have to offer. I noticed that your comparison was fair and accurate which gave me a confident feeling that you were not trying to cheat anyone with your comparison and pricing for your service.
Please use the postcode availability checker (example UK postcode:BS31 2PU) and offer any comments that you feel are relevant regarding this experience.
The online search was very quick. I like the listing of all available services and the pricing and what each has to offer. The listing is very professional and accurate. I feel like you have done a good job on how you have supplied all your information and comparison to your competitors in your site.
Â
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like http://www.broadbandgenie.co.uk?
I prefer your site. It is easier to read, not as cluttered, more direct to the point, and the comparison is a plus to me. I like to shop and compare when I change services. I would rather sign up with your company than the one you had us compare your company to. I have a sense of confident with your company for your services and what you would provide me for broadband and phone services.
Are there any features that you feel we could add to Landlinesaver to enhance our customers experience?
I think your service package of broadband telephone and cable TV would be complete if you could add your cell phone services. This would make it easier to have a complete all in one service for your account. I see you offer home landline phones, TV, broadband internet. I did not find a cell service on your site.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I feel like you have created a professional presentation of your services and your homepage. It is easy to use, navigate, compare, and find the services I am looking for.

The site is loading in a faster state.Â

No, everything looks fine to me.Â
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
What i find bothersome is that the homepage is too wordy and it’s not attractive or interesting. The page layout is dull to me. Other seems to be normal. What i like is that you provide a search engine for the visitor to search for any package available in their area. Also the site connect to other social network like facebook and twitter, which is a good way to stay closer to the social. You also provide the comparison of packages , which will make the visitor clears about each difference between these packages.Â
Does the site/content give you the confidence to sign up via one of the links published on the site?
No, because it doesn’t seem attractive to me. Unless i really looking for it, if im not looking for any new communication services and i been directed to your site, the site does not give me a feeling of ordering it or get me interested on it. How you display your product and how your site layout it’s very important in marketing your products and get visitors attracted.Â
Please use the postcode availability checker (example UK postcode:BS31 2PU) and offer any comments that you feel are relevant regarding this experience.
The experience is comfort and convenient, the result shown is very clear, i really like the way you display these result by stating the package details that allow visitors to choose any that they like. They don’t have to click on every different link to see their package price.Â
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like http://www.broadbandgenie.co.uk?
Broadbandgenie site layout looks more interesting and attractive, but their page content seem a little confusing. They displaying the compare home broadband and compare mobile broadband, etc, if the site provide a search engine that is for comparing and let the user to tick for wanted to compare for home or mobile would be more convenient to me. Your site provided the search engine which is really convenient. They displayed the packages then they just explain what the site is about, which is not a good concept. your site explain to the visitor what the site is about and then display the packages which the visitor will know what are they looking for. So, for me your site is more consistent and reliable. You just have to improve the way you market your product and your site layout.Â
Are there any features that you feel we could add to Landlinesaver to enhance our customers experience?
If i’m looking for a new broadband service provider, i would like to see that your site have a list of displaying the top or most popular broadband service provider company for recommendation purpose. You also can allow your visitor to sign up as a member of your site or get the newsletter from your site. When there is new package you will email them. You also can add feature like allowing customer who just used a new broadband service that recommended from your site to rate their favorite communication service provider. The ratings will help other visitors to make the right decision and not to regret.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
i think i have mentioned most of it above. I suggest you can add a slide shows in your homepage, when visitor first visit they will see the slide shows that contain what the site is about and some background picture which is relevant to the site. Also when they sliding next slide shows, they will see how your site works with a step by step instruction or you can display some review of the best package on the slideshows. It looks more interesting and attractive in this way. You also can state the benefits of your site and what is the purpose of your service in list on the homepage, it will make the visitor clear about what they can get from your site.

This has something to do with landline phones and the money you can save by using your service.

Loads about average.
Did you notice any text/graphics that appeared displaced, if so please include the name and version of your browser in your comments.

I do not see text displaced, but see my comment in last section about the amount of text you have on homepage.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?

Bothersome: I am not a fan of the pea green color used for the background. I think you have way too much text on your homepage, which will not actually get read. People don’t want to read a novel just to find out what you do.
I like the service comparisons once you enter the postal code. This is very handy. The only problem is that this is not emphasized effectively on your homepage. Remove the paragraph and say something like: “compare services quick and easy”
Does the site/content give you the confidence to sign up via one of the links published on the site?

No. The homepage as presented does not convince me that you are a premium service. It gives me the impression that you are new to having a website.

Looks like you do provide comparable services and prices.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like http://www.broadbandgenie.co.uk?
Broadband genie has more colors that are appealing to my eyes and graphics that are crisp and high-quality. I think you need to incorporate these features into your site as well.
Are there any features that you feel we could add to Landlinesaver to enhance our customers experience?

Maybe a live online chat with a representative?
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.

Like I said earlier, way too much text on your homepage. You need selling points, and not paragraphs. No one who is new to your site will read all of that. They will pop onto your site, figure out what you do by the first 5-10 sec. glance, and then leave. You need to streamline your text down, and use colors that are more appealing to the eyes.Â
The only graphic (above the fold) I see is your logo. I think you need some more graphics before scrolling down for the eyes to see that will represent your brand well. If you eliminate the wordiness of your text, you will have more room.
There is no need to list out the telephone providers on your homepage. This is doing nothing for your brand, other than telling us that you know who they are. Anyone can google this same list.Â
Visit https://www.landlinesaver.co.uk Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
This site seems to be about landline phone and internet services packages in the uk. I really don’t even understand what your site is about in totallity being that is not clearly stated. I would just liked something that was more clearly stated.
In your opinion, was the loading time of the site faster/slower than average?
The loading time was faster than average.
Did you notice any text/graphics that appeared displaced, if so please include the name and version of your browser in your comments.
Nothing seemed out of place.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
As I stated before I didn’t understand what your site was about in totallity. I see that on your homepage you have the statement, “Impartial phone and broadband comparison service.” I believe that this is what explains your site but in the midst all of the other information on your site it seems to get lost. At first glance I didn’t know if that was your “mission statement” or is that was just a header for something to read. That being said if you want that to stand out as to what your site is about then you need to declutter your homepage. Visually it is just alarming to the eyes. I really didn’t know what to focus on first. After reading that paragraph on the homepage this is all I need to see as a descriptive of your site, “Landlinesaver could help you make considerable savings by providing you with exclusive telephone and broadband deals from selected providers. So before you switch let us help you compare the market and find the cheapest phone and broadband provider!” This is short, simple and to the point. I think that the rest of the information is relevant but not necessary in that spot.
There seems to be a lack of color on your site. Color wise it seems to be a little mundane leaving the orange to be the only pop of color on the site. You have a cool logo that is red so I find it odd that the color wasn’t used anywhere on your site. I’m also not a fan of to much underling. When you have headers like those above your phone and broadband packages thos are fine because they are clear markers to a catergory. I think that with this site the underlining seems to gnaw at me to much is that there all that orange color.
The words Telephone Providers needs to be capitalized on the homepage. The pages under this section are well organized and gives just enough detailed information about each company.I was really fond of the blue shading. I think you have a good use of tabs but again they could have been a little more colorful than just black and white.
I find no need to have the compare phone and broadband packages section plopped right there in the middle of the page. I think a homepage needs to be an overview if you will of what your site offers. I think that a new tab in which you might say compare packages would be fine. I think the text box right under that needs to be moved up. It has nice comprehensive info that is releveant to any user. I like that you have articles, updates and tools on the side of the page. Again another area of helpful info that doesn’t bog down the user.
Under the Phone + Broadband bundles tab there is alot of information so I am glad to see that I can easily sort througth it all in three easy steps.
Under the Mobile brand tab again their is alot information to view. But this sorting on this page is not so obvious on this page. The most obvious is the sort by providers. So it would nice to let users know that can sort by any of the other headers on this page. I only noticed it when I clicked on them and saw the sorting message.
Nice Telephone Only Packages page. Clean, precise and good of use in three steps.
The Broadband Speed Test tab had a nice grapic and was really easy to read. I like that here you took the time to give more detailed information. Cool, “named and shamed.” In the last two paragraphs of this page I would consider put a space in between. It made for easier reading and the later just seem like a summary and not a extension of the previous paragraph.
Nice basic contact page.
Does the site/content give you the confidence to sign up via one of the links published on the site?
Perhaps. I like that I can easily compare companies so that in and of itelf is real gem. On the other hand I think that you have some layout issues with everything being to jam packed and not clearly stating what your site.
Please use the postcode availability checker (example UK postcode:BS31 2PU) and offer any comments that you feel are relevant regarding this experience.
I like how fast the results came the nice tidbit of info to the bottom of that. Nice map. Again as I stated before the sorting is not so obvious. I would like to have the option of comparing by clicking and choosing on those I would want to see instead of just sorting the whole list. Under the select packages sort why is the broadband package box already checked unlike the phone and tv box? That was a little confusing.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like http://www.broadbandgenie.co.uk?
I like that their site is visully eye cathing in color and the slogan is general but it was easily understandable. I think that you site looks more trustworthy, give better detailed info and just overall has a more professional appearance.
Are there any features that you feel we could add to Landlinesaver to enhance our customers experience?
I would like to see a rating system of the best deals offered on your site. Having the ability to sign up and have deals sent to your email of the company(s) of your choice would be nice.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I would like to see: a fresh layout with out so much clutter, more color, addition of tabs to declutter if nessary and a distinct place to sign up.
Perhaps. I like that I can easily compare companies so that in and of itelf is real gem. On the other hand I think that you have some layout issues with everything being to jam packed and not clearly stating what your site.
Â
Visit https://www.landlinesaver.co.uk Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
Â
I am assuming this site helps users locate the most affordable home phone and internet services in their area. Basically, you compare rates from different companies and choose the plans that are right for you.
Â
In your opinion, was the loading time of the site faster/slower than average?
Â
I felt like the site was loading at an average to fast rate of speed. It took about 1-2 seconds for each page to load on IE 8.
Â
Did you notice any text/graphics that appeared displaced, if so please include the name and version of your browser in your comments.
Â
No text was displaced for me on this site, using IE 8.
Â
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
Â
I don’t like that this site isn’t for people in America. It is for UK only, apparently. I’m sure there is one for the US, too, but I am unaware of it. I would find something like this to be useful, if it applied to me. The site is simple. There is no guessing about what to do, and results come up immediately. I like that it isn’t too busy or confusing, and that it is also unbiased.Â
I am unsure as to why “Impartial phone and broadband comparison service” is off center and bold on the main page. Shouldn’t that be up under the site logo, instead of “Why Pay More?”? I thought it to be very out of place/format. I also believe that the main paragraph on the first page includes some unnecessary information, like the exact price of Virgin Media broadband. Costs are constantly changing, so that part of the site will have to be constantly updated. Why not just write, “Providers such as Virgin Media and Plusnet offer affordable bundle rates!” Or something like that?
The telephone providers section seems a bit underdeveloped. The lack of capitalization and random green color should probably be changed.Â
Â
Does the site/content give you the confidence to sign up via one of the links published on the site?
Â
Yes. I mean, all you have to do is find the company/rate you prefer, and click “Order Nowâ€. Then, you are transferred to the provider’s website where you complete any purchases, securely.
Â
Please use the postcode availability checker (example UK postcode:BS31 2PU) and offer any comments that you feel are relevant regarding this experience.
Â
I just used the postal code provided in this example, because I do not live in the UK and am not familiar with UK postal codes. Quickly, several options for phone/internet service for that particular area popped up for comparison.
Â
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like http://www.broadbandgenie.co.uk?
Â
I think broadbandgenie is nicer in appearance than landlinesaver. I mean, the concept is the same, but the sites look different. Broadbandgenie also includes mobile phone plans, as landlinesaver does not. However, broadbandgenie had some unnecessary links on the page that kind of distorted the concept. Like, “Dongles, Free laptops, special offers, free gifts…†What is a dongle?
Â
Are there any features that you feel we could add to Landlinesaver to enhance our customers experience?
Â
There should definitely be a mobile phone plan feature, not just landline and broadband internet. A lot of people don’t keep landline phones anymore, they’d rather have a smartphone plan. So the owners of this site should consider adding the feature to locate and compare cellular services. I know it is called “landlinesaver†but landlines are losing popularity. At least, here in the US they are…
Â
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
Â
I found landlinesaver to be a really interesting site. I wish I had been able to find a site like this when I was searching for cell phone service last year, and maybe I wouldn’t be paying so much money every month! A lot of my friends and relatives are constantly debating over who has the better rates and where they should go to get service plans. They’d most likely find a site like this to be very handy.
What do you think the site is about?
Looks like price comparisons of telecommunications providers and their various service packages.
Â
In your opinion, was the loading time of the site faster/slower than average?
At least average, maybe a little faster.
Â
Did you notice any text/graphics that appeared displaced, if so please include the name and version of your browser in your comments.
No, I didn’t notice anything displaced. I use Firefox 3.6.15.
Â
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
Bothersome:
1. The home page has a crowded feeling. It opens with a long, chunky block of text and moves on to a lot of dense, small-print text. I would suggest redesigning the home page so that it’s simpler and more succinct. You could start with a headline like “Save Money on Phone and Broadband Service–Compare Rates.” Then you might follow that with several short and sweet selling points such as those currently under “New Phone Line,” “Broadband Speed Test,” and “TV Phone + Broadband.” After that, you could wrap it up with the four sample comparisons currently under “Compare phone and broadband packages.” I’d totally eliminate the extra copy in the intro paragraph as well as all the links and additional examples at the bottom of the page (i.e., anything below the three selling points). All that is just too much.
2. The generally verbose copy. Much of the site has a lot of wordy copy (e.g., the “Broadband Speed Test” page, the individual pages for each telecom company listed in the home page sidebar). Often paragraphs aren’t separated with adequate spacing, adding to the “crowded” effect. It’s just a lot to read. I’d suggest doing some editing, maybe breaking up blocks of text with bullet points.
3. The inability to arrange search results by cost. Price tends to be the deciding factor behind the choice of a provider for lots of people, so I think many of your visitors will want to sort by price.
Â
Like:
1. The overall concept. A telecom rate comparison site is always useful.
2. The broadband speed tester. That’s a good idea and potentially very helpful. I know there are a lot of consumers out there who aren’t getting what they’re paying for in terms of promised broadband speed.
3. The many different ways to compare telecom packages–by landline only, by mobile, by bundle, and by individual service provider. I particularly like the individual provider pages accessible from the home page sidebar. They’re a little too wordy, but they lay out each provider’s plan selection really nicely. However, I wish I could access these pages from the search results charts. That is, I wish when I clicked on the provider name in each search result, I’d be taken to one of these pages that lays out all the provider’s plans. As it is now, I’m taken directly to the provider’s web site, but I feel like I’m not ready to go there yet. I want to see the more detailed info you display on each provider’s page first. (Sorry. I guess this last is more a “bothersome” than a “like”!)
Â
Does the site/content give you the confidence to sign up via one of the links published on the site?
Yes, as long as I’m redirected to the actual provider’s site when it’s time to sign up. I’d just want to check their site and make sure that the plan info listed on your site is up to date. Sometimes prices change very rapidly.
Â
Please use the postcode availability checker (example UK postcode:BS31 2PU) and offer any comments that you feel are relevant regarding this experience.
I assume you mean the search box in the upper right corner of the home page. I used the example postal code you provided since I don’t live in the UK. This quickly pulled up a comparison chart with about fifty telecom plans. Some suggestions for the chart: 1. I found the provider logos in the leftmost column to be a little too small to see all of them clearly. 2. I was surprised that when I clicked those logos, I was redirected to the provider’s web site. I was hoping to see more details on each phone plan rather than be directed off site. 3. I would’ve liked the option to sort by monthly or yearly rate rather than just by provider.
Â
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like http://www.broadbandgenie.co.uk?
BroadbandGenie also has quite a crowded home page–more crowded than yours, in fact. I like how their home page opens with four main comparison options, but then it gets mired in too many telecom package examples and an extremely long FAQ section that should really be on a separate page. In comparison, your home page is much more readable.
Â
In terms of search capability, I like that BroadbandGenie offers a lot of different sorting options for search results. However, the way BroadbandGenie lists results is less readable and less detailed than the way you list them. So I like your listing style better, but I just wish you offered more sorting options like they do.
Â
BroadbandGenie is also currently a more extensive site than yours. It offers smartphone reviews, a news page, and a forum, none of which your site appears to have right now.
Â
Are there any features that you feel we could add to Landlinesaver to enhance our customers experience?
Yes. I think you could add the search filter options I mentioned above, and I think your search results should link to those detailed provider and plan information pages that currently only seem to be accessible from the home page sidebar. I also think you could add customer ratings and reviews. It’s always educational to hear about the experiences of actual customers. You might also take a tip from BroadbandGenie and expand to include smartphone (hardware) comparison charts.
Â
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I think that’s about it.

Visit https://www.landlinesaver.co.uk Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
When I initially went on the site, the first thing that came to mind, was that this site had something to do with saving costs on land-lines via the implementation of some form of internet service.
In your opinion, was the loading time of the site faster/slower than average?
On average I have approximately ten (10) tabs open, and I must say, your site did load noticeable faster than the other sites.
Did you notice any text/graphics that appeared displaced, if so please include the name and version of your browser in your comments.
Using Google Chrome and everything seems perfect.Â
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
The site is well laid out and structured so it is very difficult to find anything bothersome, the only issue I had was that at first glance, the hope page seemed a bit cluttered, but in all honesty it works for me, as the homepage proves me with everything I need to know about your site and saves me the trouble of having to extensively navigate the site, everything I need to know is right there in-front of me..
With that said, I like everything about the site it is well structured, easy to navigate, I especially liked how the tele providers were alphabetically listed on the homepage.Â
Does the site/content give you the confidence to sign up via one of the links published on the site?
Most definitely, the information you provide is very precise and detailed, and the prices also seem reasonable.
Please use the postcode availability checker (example UK postcode:BS31 2PU) and offer any comments that you feel are relevant regarding this experience.
The online search was rather quick. I especially liked the fact that you listed all the available services and the pricing and what each has to offer, which made the listing seem very detailed and professional.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors likehttps://www.broadbandgenie.co.uk?
The fist thing I notice is that the abovementioned site took a significantly longer time to load than yours. The second thing I noticed is that their site was also cluttered, but because they had utilized more media (pictures etc) it was more appealing than yours, which consist mostly of text.E.g: where your tabs are plain and simple their’s are more dynamic, as where you have a tab that says home, they literally have a tab in the shape of a home. Where you tabs are all perfectly rectangular their’s are of different dimensions etc. The other issue is that I found their site easier to understand and navigate and the way they promoted their product was much more dynamic than yours
Are there any features that you feel we could add to Landlinesaver to enhance our customers experience?
Well the homepage opens with a long paragraph about how LLS could help people save. Well we live in a new age where people enjoy reading less and would much rather have some form of mead. As such instead of opening with a long paragraph, why not open with a video with a female telling how your company will have people save; and additionally you could also have testimonials.Â
Additional comments?
For the most part the site is very professionally done, well structured, easy to navigate and detailed. Â At first glance the homepage seemed a bit cluttered, but I would not list it as a negative, as it does what it was intended to do. It gives the details of you company and saves potential customers of the headache of exhaustively navigating the site to find information, everything one needs is directly infront of them in the homepage.

What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
Front page is very cluttered. Makes me not want to read anything. I like the color scheme and the layout. I also like the ease of ordering the services provided.

I’d be willing to sign up with the links provided.

I love the ease of this great feature.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like http://www.broadbandgenie.co.uk?
They both seem like great sites but your site looks more attractive. Their homepage has way too much going on. Your home page has less clutter. I’d prefer to use your site over theirs.
Are there any features that you feel we could add to Landlinesaver to enhance our customers experience?
You seem to have it covered with the features you offer.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I somehow forgot in my original review to include my results for the Postal Code search.
I searched various postal codes from around Britain to see how the information changed. Primus offers the lowest monthly rates, as well as a fairly decent data rate for Buckingham Palace. The PO Code for Saint Helier (Jersey Island) resulted in the map pinpointing its location in northern India, though the information did show up there. Besides that, everything directed me (map wise) to where it was suppose to go geographically.Â
I cannot say I saw any change in what is offered through the country.
The postal search was easy.
Also, noted that you could sort by Speed, Download Limit, etc. However, having the ‘Sort By’ attached to Providers gives the impression that one can only sort that way (as it originally had for me). Maybe have the ‘Sort By’ separated from the rest of the headers and in bold.
Note: I did write this a day after my original post. I feel that it is fair that it is not included as part of my overall review.

This is a phone service website that offers different network of phone providers. The website apparently will help individuals to choose a provider that can give them the best deal possible.
In your opinion, was the loading time of the site faster/slower than average?
I found that the website to load rather quickly with a DSL connection.

I found the text and graphics not to be displaced. The browser I am using is Internet explorer 8
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
I like the fact that the plan is outline very well on the home page. Its simple to figure out what this website is all about and even about the different packages that are provided. I do have to admit though that the home page does seem a bit crowded. I think when it comes to a home page, there needs to be a balance of information, too little can be a turn off but so can too much. Perhaps it wasn’t necessary to place all the different service plans to the left but just have a link that will outline the different plans to individuals. This is just a suggestion on how to take care of some of the clutter on the home page.
Does the site/content give you the confidence to sign up via one of the links published on the site?
I think the services are well outlined, and if someone were looking for a service provider, I think they would consider using this website. I have to admit that if I lived in the UK I would definitely consider using your website to find a phone provider.

Well the results came up quickly, I liked how the different service plans came up and how an individual can compare to find the best price possible in their area of the UK.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like http://www.broadbandgenie.co.uk?
After viewing this website I must admit that I prefer landline saver. Why, because I found that this website seem to be promoting Sky over the other providers, maybe this wasn’t the intention but this was the one I was getting. Where as with Land line it seem very impartial, giving individuals the freedom to choose.
Are there any features that you feel we could add to Landlinesaver to enhance our customers experience?
The only suggestion I could make to help enhance customer experience is to simplify the home page, just a bit so that it doesn’t look so congested. Also, add some graphics, these can help grab and individuals attention and pull them into the website. Other then that I was quite impressed with the over all website itself.

I think it’s a site where one can compare the offers of different telecommunication companies.
In your opinion, was the loading time of the site faster/slower than average?
It was average, maybe a bit faster (under 1 sec, but not instant on 5 Mbit).

Everything looks good. Using Firefox 6.0.
However, the BT Broadbank link (at the bottom of the left menu, through TradeDoubler) seems to be attached to a tiny arrow image, I’m not sure it should be like this.
Also, the speed test’s help pop-up window is set to screen height, which means it’s bottom is under the taskbar.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
The home page lacks a concept. Some text, some offers here, a search box there, than some more offers and some random links to sub-pages, etc. It should really be more organized.
I’ve found it a bit strange that the company pages (from the left menu) tend to have different formatting and colors. While most pages are just somewhat different, Primus’ is completely, giving only an offer page and having no left menu either. It’s also not made clear anywhere what exactly should I expect to find on these pages. or by what criteria are the offers selected to be presented there (all providers have more offers in comparison lists than on their sub-pages).
It’s hard to really compare offers in the lists without visiting the provider’s page for more details. To make it even worse, many “order now” links only take me to the providers page and not to the specific offer’s.
So there are comparison lists for different categories, which are nice, but they only include the very basic details.
I really like it that certain pages remember the post code used last, however it would be even better if the site would “globally” remember it, and automatically use it in all lists (currently I can use different post codes at different lists and they are stored separately).
I also like that the site doesn’t seem to have sponsored offers, which could distort such comparison lists.
Another thing I like is that lists can be sorted by different properties and that sorting can be only from best-to-worst, so I cannot accidentally sort them in reverse order.
I really don’t like the speed test however. Having to give details like post code and e-mail for it is not good. And why ask the provider when it can be told from the IP? By the way, the help on speed test says that telling an e-mail address is not compulsory, while it is a required field.
Does the site/content give you the confidence to sign up via one of the links published on the site?
All the links I’ve checked redirected me to the providers’ websites, so I see no trust problem there.

It works fine, provides a good amount of hits even in rural areas. Although I don’t understand why can’t one search for only TV or phone offers.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like http://www.broadbandgenie.co.uk?
I think your site looks better. Your comparison lists are also easier to view and use (broadbangenie’s lists are very bulky forcing users to scroll a lot). However it also has a nice FAQ on what to look for, and I really like it that they openly tell that it’s an affiliate site, and that they make money if I use their links.
Are there any features that you feel we could add to Landlinesaver to enhance our customers experience?
As I mentioned above, a small summary on what each detail means, and tips on what to look for if I want to use it to (…).
I’d also like to get a package details link to all offers (especially in comparison lists), to save me all the clicking around while trying to find out the details. And I really miss an option to compare two – or maybe more – packages in-depth (basically the ability to compare their details pages).
A print/email button would be also nice on the lists (currently only the home page has those, while that’s about the last page someone would want to use them on.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I think the home page needs to be re-designed (content-wise) because it’s quite chaotic. It also has things that are in the top menu, in which case instead of linking them twice, you should tell the users what can they reach from the top menu.
Minor typo: On AOL’s page the sentence “You could save over £136 per year by switching…” missed formatting on the ‘Y’ (just like it’s pasted here).

I think the site allows you to compare phone and broadband packages. From the web address “.co.uk” I assume this service is for within the United Kingdom.
In your opinion, was the loading time of the site faster/slower than average?
I thought it loaded very fast, I would say faster then average.
Did you notice any text/graphics that appeared displaced, if so please include the name and version of your browser in your comments.
I was using Mozzila Firefox 6.0 as the browser and I think I noticed some slight text out of line but I think it is supposed to be intentional as mentioned below. Apart from that everything seemed as it should and not displaced.
About 3/4 of the way down the page there is text “BT remove new line fees” followed by “100Mb rolling out” and “Sky TV Packages”. When I first looked at them they looked out of line but after a second look it seems that you have intentionally centered them. I thought they would look a lot better lined up with the text below them “Primus cheapest UK line rental” etc.

HOME PAGE:
Liked
– How fast the page loaded.
– Home page clearly explains what the site is about.
Disliked
– The home page seemed a little messy and unorganized.
– Lacked a theme or color scheme.
– Looked boring and didn’t catch my attention at all.
– Too much information, search box, packages, providers, links to all sorts of other things etc. It was a bit too much to take in at once. Would be nice to see the concept and some eye catching images then all this information on other pages.
PHONE & BROADBAND BUNDLES PAGE:
Liked
– That you could sort out the results by speed, download limit, monthly fee etc.
– Seemed a little more vibrant than the home page.
– That you could specifically search by postcode and narrow down the right plans for your area.
Disliked
– That when you click “Order Now” you are redirected to the companies website but not necessarily to the plan you picked. A lot of the time I clicked “order now” and just ended up on the home page of the service provider. Seems like a bit of time wasting having to go to another website and find the same package/plan again.
– That you were redirected and lost the page you were on, I would have rather had the providers page load up as a completely new page.
– The information could be a little overwhelming for some people. Speed and download limit are still foreign to a lot of users and people still aren’t too sure what they require. It would be nice to have a page that explain what type of speed and download limit users might require.
MOBILE BROADBAND PAGE:
Liked
– That this had it’s own separate page.
Disliked
– Again like the phone & broadband bundles page when you click “order now” you aren’t necessarily taken straight to the plan.
Â
TELEPHONE ONLY PACKAGES PAGE:
Liked
– That you could search for different packages like weekend and evening calls, anytime calls etc.
Disliked
– Again same issues as the other pages.
BROADBAND SPEED TEST PAGE:
Liked
– The free broadband speed test.
– Liked that after the speed test it came up with the speed’s from other companies.
Disliked
– Not too sure how accurate the speed test is as I put in false information and I’m not in the UK but it still displayed results. This concerns me as if someone accidentally supplies the wrong information they could get a false reading.
– I also felt the “results explained” didn’t really explain much.

Not 100% I think I would still have a little look around. I think it narrows down the choices more than anything for me personally.
Please use the postcode availability checker (example UK postcode:BS31 2PU) and offer any comments that you feel are relevant regarding this experience.
I have mentioned some of the things I disliked about the pages up above and I used the postcode mentioned when having a look over the pages. The main thing I found off putting was that when I clicked “order Now” I wasn’t always taken directly to the plan. I was often just taken to the companies homepage and I felt like…………here we go, have to do this all over again.
I also felt there could have been some information on the page explaining how much speed etc a light internet user would require ie checking emails once a week, not playing games etc to a heavy internet user who watches videos and plays games online. I think this could really help users gain the best plan that actually suits them. I think a lot of people would just be overwhelmed with the choices and not actually sure how to compare all the data.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like http://www.broadbandgenie.co.uk?
I think their homepage is very cluttered also, although their bright colors are more inviting. I think your plans are much easier to read and view than on broadbandgenie site. I also found your site easier to navigate. However I did like the fact that they had a lot more helpful information on how to select the right broadband deal. I felt broadbandgenie was there to help me rather than just sell me. Overall I wouldn’t say their site out shone yours by any means but I think with some improvements you can make yours out shine theirs.

A help section or page that explains how to choose the right plan and what all the technical stuff means would be great.
