1) My initial impression of the homepage is that is it is a little bland. It needs to be spiced up with a little more content.
2) The way the site works is clearly defined on the homepage. It leaves no need for guessing.
3) I’m not encouraged to join because I live in an area that doesn’t have many residents, and we’re very far from any farm or butcher. Taking that into consideration I’m sure a website like this will do well in large urban areas, and areas located near meat farms.
4) I prefer this one to others that I found with a search engine because this site looks to be the easiest to use.
5) I highly suggest sprucing up the homepage. Add in some extra content so that it doesn’t look so bland. A more eye-catching homepage would likely reel in more customers.

Â
First impressions on visiting the site is that it looks rather plain. This isn’t a bad thing, however, as it is not overwhelming or have any annoying or confusing banners or colour tones.
Â
Site text is clear, easy to read. Colours are dull, but very easy to look at. I am not straining my eyes because of the colours on the page.
Â
Everything is well laid out–your FAQ is easy to find, as is the sign in/register, and your About Us, Privacy Policy and EULA.
Â
2) Do you get a sense of how the site works from your first look?
Â
As noted, site is easy to read and scroll through. While it is clear what you are offering as a product (more or less buying meat products in bulk from a wholesaler and dividing it up for those who have purchased it).
Â
3) Are you encouraged to (create a new account, subscribe, sign up for a free trial, etc.)? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
While not overly interested in the product you are offering, I did sign up using Facebook (fast, easy). Mostly did this out of curiosity to see how quick and easy it was to sign up. Read your terms and conditions, which were fairly extensive.Â

I could only find local food sharing groups (i.e.: for individual cities). Most of these were, literally, limited to their respective communities, and while having a strong online aspect, usually involved persons getting together to share what they have purchased, instead of purchasing from a wholesaler online and splitting it.

Your FAQ is interesting, with a good mix of humor with the answers you are given.
Â
It is a bit confusing how things work in ‘buying’ meat. The menu (for example, for ‘David Straschewski) seems to be missing a few menu headings. Clicking a few of the meat types doesn’t seem to bring anything up (except a new web page with ‘How is that?’ on it). Nothing is there to really take me through step-by-step telling me what each thing means (i.e.: is 2.25/lb the price, or the amount still available to order? What is Dibs? A ‘bid’ price or ‘offer’ price? Where do I put my order down for how much I want? Maybe a tutorial would be nice).
Â
After signing up, I noted some issues with your saluting man image and your meat split image. They’re position is set based on their distance from the edge of the web browser. This creates the problem that, if one narrows their browser window too much, the saluting man image covers the FAQ and Your Account links.Â

I know a few good farmers, and we buy from them as a family. Also, your services do not seem to be offered in Canada.
