miiCard has to do with proving your online identity to prevent fraud. The top half of the homepage really stands out with the blue, and the green “Get Started in 5 Minutes” button stands out on the homepage. The gray “Watch the tour” button seems to be less important because the color is a gray.
I like how you have 6 selling points on the homepage, and a real testimonial. I suggest making the profile picture for the testimonial user bigger. It is hard to see the icon, and I think the profile pic of the testimonial should be easy to see since it builds your brand’s credibility.
I did not immediately notice the comments from The Economist, Tech Crunch and other businesses because it falls below the fold on my monitor.
The “Features” button underneath the testimonial seems out of place. I don’t know why it is here, but it does not feel like it is in an actionable spot. Same with your “How it Works” button. I think you need to reconsider where you have this buttons. If you actually want people to click on them, they need to be at the top of the page.

The Pricing would be the think I would be looking for, and this is in an easy to find location on your homepage. If I sign up now, it is free for life. Okay, so how do you make money off of this?

    3) Are you encouraged to sign up? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
I did sign up for a “FREE FOR LIFE” account, but when I clicked Create Account. It says to now check my email.

LIFELOCK security offers lifetime protection from security fraud, however their services are not free. If you can guarantee my identity will never be stolen, that would make you on par with them.

I would like to know what online businesses require a mii card. How many businesses you have partnered with would tell me how fast your business will catch on.
Right now, it doesn’t seem like you have a big draw or reason to use mii card. You need to promote which businesses accept mii card.

  2. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
Well, this site a great place to visit. Its home page is very explanatory and transparent. Overall good impression!!

    2) Think of something you want to find on this website. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?
Yes I can able to find the information that I want to know. There is no problem. There is nothing confusing if you know how to find for things properly. No room for confusion!

    3) Are you encouraged to sign up? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
Yes I wish to enroll but I am unable to sign up. The reason is that this kind of servcie is not being used in my home country, India. at present. However, it is very ideal for people living in America or Europe where it is very helpful.

    4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
Yes I visited couple of other websites that offer similar kind of service. Eg. https://www.identityservices.govt.nz/English/.
I find miicard site is far better as it is easy to use and follow procedures. I prefer this only.

Well, I find this site is very well designed and impressive. However, I feel it could have been little more simplistic so that new visitors find it more easy to use its features and services. Some of the major benefits of enrolling at this site could have listed on the home page so that even new visitors find it very helpful and encourged to get enrolled.
This is the only suggestion I have for this site. Thank you!!

  3. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
Loved the short video to explain more about your service and I liked the characters you used to visually relate to people. The colors on your site are easy on the eyes to read, too.

    2) Think of something you want to find on this website. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?
I found everything I needed to know quickly and it’s very easy to understand. The FAQ was very helpful, but I think it would better to put “FAQ” as one of the main tabs, perhaps between pricing and blog. The “help and support” has a lot great info, so breaking it down using separate options to choose would be easier. A “Contact us” option would be good, too. Also, “screencasts” at the bottom would be an unknown term for some consumers who don’t know a lot about the Internet. Although, this may not be a big deal because of the businesses and developers your appealing to.

    3) Are you encouraged to sign up? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
Yes, I would because you answer all my questions about your product feeling there’s no secrets you’re hiding..

    4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
I Googled internet identity cards and your listing was 5th from the top. Using the words “verification service” stood out for me to want to click on your link. The other sites felt like they were selling a chance to make your own id cards

    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
The testimonials at the bottom from the Wall Street Journal, NY Times, etc added to the validity of your product.
The for “Consumers, Business and Developers could be better displayed. The “for” looks like it was just thrown up there and doesn’t look like it belongs there.
    Overall, great product and website!

  4. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
The design for the most part looks clean and thought through with a web 2.0 look and feel. I like the different background colors and how the top portion of the site has a capturing blue color as its background. The larger font size for “Prove Your Real Identity” immediately tells the visitor what the site is about if they were previously unsure. I also like the placement of the two buttons leading to a video and how users can sign up quickly, along with the decision to have contrasting colors in the background of the buttons. In terms of the navigation design, I feel like not much thought was given behind this and it should be featured more prominently. The watermarking of the logo struck me as a nice design element that complimented the site’s color pallet. I appreciate the trust logos that are featured in the footer as a visitor to your site. As a first time site visitor, I would have liked the explanation of “For Members” “For Business” and “For Developers” to be placed before the explanations from other sites explaining what the service is.
    2) Think of something you want to find on this website. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?
I wanted to see what having a miiCard would look like and I was unable to find it on the site. I found watching the video to be the most helpful thing in explaining the concept of miiCard. After watching the video, I searched throughout the site to see an example of how miiCard has been integrated with a real life example and I was unable to find that either.
    3) Are you encouraged to sign up? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
Because I was unable to find a screen shot or real life showing of how miiCard has integrated, I probably will not sign up for this service. Also, miiCard did not provide me with enough evidence to show the value of their service and how it could benefit me. Throughout the site, I felt that the concept of the product was pushed, but there was not enough focus on why it is beneficial for the average internet user. I also was unable to find out the price of miiCard, which would certainly be a factor is my decision of whether or not I would sign up.
    4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which one do you prefer? Why?
Another company that offers a slightly similar, yet still different service is Virtrue at https://www.virtrue.us. This online ID platform allows others to verify the identity and information of an individual, rather than the individual presenting the verification that he is who he says he is to others. Virtrue’s site is much cleaner and looks more user-friendly than miiCard’s. Though I do like the design of miiCard’s site, I think the organization of information is much better on Virtrue and much easier for the user to find. The footer on miiCard’s site is much more robust and informative compared to Virtrue’s site which I appreciate.
    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
According to the footer, there is no link provided to a sitemap, so I definitely would create one if that has not already been done. Also, because there are three different sites based on the type of visitor that are combined under the miiCard umbrella, I would work on finding a more user-friendly way to ensure they are easily directed to the right target site. This company is definitely on the right track in terms of design, but overall I feel the UX & IA needs more work. Thank you for allowing me to review your business and your website. I hope some of my feedback is helpful to you and your efforts and I wish you best of luck on your endeavor.

  5. 1) My general impression of the site is very good. I love the fact that without navigating from the homepage i can have a good idea on what the site is about and what they do. Also liked the animation video which i believe tells everything about miicard in just 2 minutes so you don’t have to struggle to check everywhere on the site to try to understand the features. The homepage uses a blue background which i feel is very relaxing to someone visiting the site.
    2) I wanted to find the cost of signing up and the duration for which you pay and the cost of upgrading membership or something like that. I easily found this under the “pricing” tab on the homepage which told me that membership is free and it is forever.
    3) I am encouraged to sign up because the features of the site are quite good and they happen to be free without any “catch”. The testimonies from big name companies also encourage me to sign up as this builds my trust in miicard. The fact that the sign-up process itself seems very simple from the information provided on the homepage where they talk about signing up is also encouraging.
    4) I compared miicard with netidme and i preferred miicard. Firstly the miicard website has a nicer, sleeker feel than netidme. The netidme website had many navigational links compared to miicard which has like 4 navigational links thus i thought it was easier to find information on miicard. To understand how netidme worked i had to browse a good amount of the site whereas with miicard all i had to do was watch a 2 minutes video. So overall i think miicard is a better company judging by the websites.
    5) Overall, i think miicard is a good company with a pretty good website as i couldn’t find any reason to fault it.

  6. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
With my slow internet speed in South Africa miicard was quick to open. First 5 sec was not clear what the site was about. My idea was some kind of greeting card site that sends out cards when you set it up for your company. Scrolling down my eye were first to catch some credibility of people who is using it. This stirred my interest to read more what miicard was about. Once I read the concept was to create trust in the internet when you do business. Still did not see a need for it because I thought Facebook with a history is proof enough. These days hard to trust anyone. When it comes to the internet it can be very difficult.
I like the layout of your first page and personally I would put much less on it.
Find way too many small writing that does not help first time visitors. Also would put a video that automaticly stars playing. Given the option is a good idea, but would give an auto play a month trail and see if sign ups increase.
I like the colors used. it gives a clean feeling.
    2) Think of something you want to find on this website. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?
I thought to find the reason for having such a card…
Found it very difficult cause nowhere was it clear exactly way I needed such a card.
In my search I found lots of great info but never a clear and consise reason way it is needed.
I was not convinced that there is a need for miicard since no website has asked for it and I am not clear
why I should give access to my bank account. It all just did not add up.
It is a great idea but I suggest to give a list of essential benefits why such a card is needed.
The card idea does not add up since on the internet you do not use a card
Is it when you want to buy something (Can’t be cause you just need a credit card)
Is it cause you need to access a restricted website? ( Can’t be cause you just need a Username and password)
So to answer your question: After 8min on your page I still have no clue why I need a miicard even if it is free for life and cause I don’t know the people owning it and I am hesitant to give any personal info esspecially if the word bank is used.
    3) Are you encouraged to sign up? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
No. Sorry maybe I just sound sceptical but the more I look to find benefits I only get features. This just does not add up. Something you need to work on. Give me the benefits that makes sence, cause without seeing the need there is none. I suggest you get clear on the topic of who the partner websites are and why they need your card to be accessed. It all my sound very vain from a guy that still might be living in wild Africa accessing the internet from his mud hut, but truly if you are going to make your card big I guess guys like myself just need to see why in the world miicard will simplify my life and give me more status than my peers.
    4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
After quite a few searches I gave in the towel as miicard is the only one I found with firefox. Google would probably do a better job but through doing it all I actually found the reason for owning such a card as what I failed to understand. On wiki there were truly very important benefits like signing your tax or other important documents with such a card. That gave me a new perspective and get me excited of actually owning one. Very interesting that there have been issued over 89 million such cards and since 2010 that it is growing very quickly. Also that in the USA it is a current subject to make it available as a way to do business. However not the only way. So sorry I did not find any competitor and maybe that is a good thing for yourselves.
    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
Having an online ID card I feel is very neccessary and cause there are such a lot of websites that I don’t think I would in a lifetime be able to get on the ID card system I do see it very nessaccary for certain types of businesses where legal documents needs proof that you are the owner and that you can do bussiness over the internet does not matter where your are. For miicard I still will have to spend time on your website to see exacty how to use it and why I would need one. Maybe the vidoe will clear it up.
Final suggestion would be video on autoplay. Guess that slow guys like myself will catch on more quickly 🙂
