About miiCard:
For the first time you can prove ‘you are who you say you are’ in a purely online world. Whether you’re buying or selling, meeting new people or applying for a bank account online, miiCard helps you create trust when you need it most.
While other digital ID services prove something about you, such as your address or credit rating, miiCard proves ‘you are actually you’ to the level of authority of an offline passport, driving license or photo ID, purely online.
Visit https://www.miicard.com. What do you think the site is about? The site appears to be about a digital product that is used to guard the safety of your identity and prove that you are whom your personal information states that you are.
Where do you think miiCard would be useful? It may be very useful in online banking transactions and purchases. Â Who would use it? This product could be used for everyone from homemakers to business executives and owners.
Are you encouraged to register for the beta? I am very interested in the beta but, with some reservation. Reservations being that “trying out” a product with your identity is a big risk. Betas are where the faults and holes are found in applications/products. The risk seems very large and that a consumer might be putting themselves on the front line for identity theft while this is being tested. If not, why? N/A
Is there anything missing or anything you don’t like about the site? I was looking for something that described why this service would be different or better than just using your credit card. Which is something that you already had to prove whom you are to receive the card.
Do you know of anyone who would be interested in using or writing about this new service? I do not know of anyone that might want to use this new service. People are so concerned about identity theft. The majority of business owners and consumers that I know would not feel comfortable about trust their identity to a new service such as this that does not appear to provide anything much different that what you already have to do to shop online, access your bank account, and so forth.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have. Thank You! The service seems like it has many great attributes. My concern is when you begin to store your social networking accounts with your financial accounts. That is something that would not do due to the lack of security within social networking sites. But, others might find it useful. I have not registered for the beta but, I do think that I will. I am interested in seeing all that the service has to offer. Good Luck!
Visit https://www.miicard.com. What do you think the site is about?
Well I have been on the homepage for 30 seconds or more and it is not extremely clear just because of everything going on the homepage (no clear plan for your eyes to follow). After going through all the info, it has to do with digital security and identity protection online.
Where do you think miiCard would be useful? Who would use it?
Well it says something about digital passport and digital identity, however I personally don’t see the need for it and I think you need a stronger case or argument or better selling points to convince people that we need your service.
Are you encouraged to register for the beta? If not, why?
No, not encouraged to use something that I am not convinced I need.
Is there anything missing or anything you don’t like about the site?
The busy-ness of your homepage. You need to clearly outline what you want the visitors to see, and in what order. You can’t simply put everything on the homepage and expect it to be clearly decoded by visitors.
Do you know of anyone who would be interested in using or writing about this new service?
Well you say in the scroller that people on Ebay could use it, but I’ve bought on ebay and haven’t the need for it. Maybe if I was selling on ebay it would come in handy.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I see your selling points in the white section, but my eyes don’t want to naturally read it, because it is in the white section in black font, and is “de-emphasized” compared to the text in the light blue section. Honestly my eyes don’t naturally want to even bother reading the white section because it looks like a paragraph of text and most people will do just that – gloss over it and not bother reading it.
This is a problem because your selling points need to be read. I suggest getting rid of the “Trust me… and the sentences below it, and make the selling points in a different color, larger font.
The scroller at the top is kind of distracting. “News” should not be the first things read on your homepage. Your selling points should be. News could be on its own tab or on a blog page.
The Tour page begins by saying #1. Register. Well, I thought I was taking a tour? No one wants to go through the trouble of signing up, just to find out that your service does not add value to their life. Convince us first, then ask us to register.
I think your homepage needs something more. Some pizazz, maybe real high-quality photos. The colorful graphics alone on the homepage doesn’t give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. I feel more like this is a generic website, and nobody’s home.
Visit https://www.miicard.com. What do you think the site is about?
Instills trust by enabling people (1) to prove their identity and (2) to confirm the identity of others they are seeking to interact with
Where do you think miiCard would be useful? Who would use it?
I can foresee many possibilities, many of which have been mentioned already. And there are a couple that haven’t. Unfortunately, there are predators on the internet. They seek to build relationships with those who are unsuspecting including children and teens. They use gaming, dating, and social networking sites. What you are doing, that people are connecting and building relationships with a person whose identity has been verified. This might also prevent spamming and scamming on these sites by people who set up multiple personas.
Are you encouraged to register for the beta? If not, why?
Yes and I would like you to prove the viability of your app first. The site says, “You can’t trust anyone online.†For better or worse, that includes miiCard. And given the nature of your website proving the trustworthiness of you site is imperative. It is not only proving that you are who you say you are, it is proving that your product does what it says it will do.
Using your product to prove your trustworthiness, most likely will not help until you have already been proven trustworthy—obviously a “catch 22.â€
Testimonials from trustworthy people would be a good way to do this. The written word can be manipulated, so videos would be preferable. I saw you have “As seen on . . .†on the site with some very impressive names New York Times, Wall Street Journal. Frequently these are ads and not articles. Links to these pages might help.
Is there anything missing or anything you don’t like about the site?
You have a great idea, but there is no hook to grab people, to compel them to stay on the site. For instance, “every 40 seconds, someone’s identity is stolen on the internet†or “are you afraid to make a purchase on eBay, because the seller has no track record?†or “Are you afraid to let your children use the internet because of predators?†something that grabs your audience.
Do you know of anyone who would be interested in using or writing about this new service?
Most likely, once you address the above issues.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have. Thank You!
The graphic on the home page is confusing. I suggest you make certain it is extremely clear, that people “get it†immediately. Attention spans are very short these days. If you do not make it clear, people will go on to the next site without giving you the time you deserve.
I can see where using your site is “safer†per your home page. But why is it faster and easier?
Visit https://www.miicard.com. What do you think the site is about?
It is like a identification card that used to identify who i really are in the online world. It helps people to gain trust toward one another by proving the approved and trusted identification. Also, it is for people to make sure they don’t easily get fooled or cheated by other person.
Where do you think miiCard would be useful? Who would use it?
It would be useful when it comes to social network or buying and selling products online. We all have to interact with one another when we wanted to buy or sell anything. Online shopping store would be very useful for this miiCard service because people will not easily get cheated and seller can make their customers feel more secure when dealing with them. People who selling product that have miiCard would be a huge advantage in gaining customer trust. It is very useful to avoid cheating or fraud. It makes online more secure when everyone having a miiCard.
Are you encouraged to register for the beta? If not, why?
To be honest, no, because i don’t think it will be useful for me right now as i don’t buy thing online often, but i can see the future for this service, if everyone is having a miiCard it would be a very secure place for everyone to shop on the internet. I might intro this to my friends who often shop online.
Is there anything missing or anything you don’t like about the site?
The page is simple and easy to understand. The layout looks interesting. i don’t find anything that i don’t like here. I suggest you can display the screenshot of how does it look like when i have a miiCard, how can i show my miiCard to others. I still don’t know how does the miiCard look like. I’m also wondering what if people can make a fake miiCard and used it to do something illegal. You can explain more on the security of your service.
Do you know of anyone who would be interested in using or writing about this new service?
There are some people might need this service, but i not sure if they are onto it.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have. Thank You!
I think i have mentioned most of it above, Overall it is a well presented site. I suggest you can list out some serious criminal or any illegal action taken by peoples around the world, so that you can let the visitors know it is important to have a miiCard. Also you have to state that which bank is available for this service as some bank might not know about this. You have to be clear for everything as this is about privacy and security for personal protection. You have to make people feel that they feel secure to use your service. Good Luck.
What do you think the site is about?
Sounds like you provide a digital ID card. That’s about as much as I can figure out from just the home page.
Â
Where do you think miiCard would be useful? Who would use it?
As you say yourself on your home page, it can be used for online shopping and sales, social networking, financial applications, personal service providers, and anything or anyone else that might require verification of identity. Who would use it? Anyone who wanted to take advantage of any of these things in a more secure environment. I would think it would be particularly appealing to people who’ve had problems with fraud or ID theft in the past.
Â
Are you encouraged to register for the beta? If not, why?
Not yet because I don’t know how much it’s going to cost. I know that if I register now, I can get six months of service free of charge, but what’s the charge going to be after that? If it turns out to be too expensive, I’ll have set up this whole account for nothing. Also, those six months won’t do me any good if no major businesses are accepting miiCard yet.
Â
Is there anything missing or anything you don’t like about the site?
What’s missing is pricing details. I’m definitely not going to sign up for something when I don’t know how much it will cost me.
Â
Do you know of anyone who would be interested in using or writing about this new service?
I think a lot of people I know would be interested in using this as long as it’s accepted at most major business web sites and isn’t too expensive. I don’t know anyone in the press, so I can’t help you with publicity unfortunately.

Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
Home page: Attractive use of color, although I’m not sure the image in the upper right corner communicates anything about a digital ID card per se. I like your scrolling selling points in the upper left corner, but I don’t care for how they scroll; the movement looks too jumpy. If I were you, I might move your five selling point icons above the copy, but otherwise this page has a great layout. Copy is friendly and easy to read with the exception of the first bulleted point, which is awkwardly worded. I notice that other pages on the site emphasize that users who register now will get six months of service free. How come this isn’t advertised on your home page? That’s a good deal.
Intro video: I feel like you need a shorter video with more of an advertising/marketing pitch. What you have now is informative, but I fear a lot of visitors won’t want to sit through a seven-minute conference presentation. I’d suggest you put together a short (three minutes or less), professionally narrated video that illustrates what miiCard is, how it works, and what you can do with it.
Why miiCard?: Good persuasive copy, straight to the point.
Tour: The slideshow at the top of the page is a nice summation of your service. However, when I read the word “tour,” I expect a video or at least a number of different screenshots. So this tab is kind of a misnomer. I think I’d rename it “How It Works.” The rest of the copy on this page does a good job of explaining how miiCard is verified while also reassuring visitors about privacy and security concerns. However, there are a few small spelling and grammatical errors and some awkward phrasing here and there, so you may want to have a copy editor go over it.
Blog: Impressive. A lot of start-ups don’t put too much effort into the company blog. This one looks very polished–well organized with good use of images.
Register: This page might be a little long. I feel like you’re still trying to sell us on miiCard, but folks who are at the Register page are already sold. Also, what goes in the box next to the “Register” button? My email? You should specify.
Online Trading: A solid sales page with friendly, persuasive language. Again, you could have a copy editor reword some clunky phrases and fix a couple spelling errors. I like that you use the right margin of this page for testimonials. your Facebook feed, and so on. Actually, I wonder why this stuff isn’t also in the margin on the home page.
Social Networking: Same as above.
Safer, Faster Internet: Same as above.
Financial Products: Same as above.
Professional Advice: Same as above.
Help & Support: This is kind of a misnomer again. These are really FAQs. They’re pretty well written, though. Glad I can at least submit a request for assistance if I need to.
Business: Another good sales pitch, this time to businesses. I’m glad you’re targeting businesses because miiCard won’t be helpful to users if no companies are accepting it. One small concern, though: When I saw this tab on the home page, I thought it was going to take me to an about page regarding the miiCard team. I suggest you rename it “Partner With Us” or something similar.
Developers: Good thought to target them as well.
Contact Us: How nice that you have a phone number and physical address as well as an email! That helps to inspire trust.
Â
In summary, you have a pretty nice site. The copy is friendly and persuasive (although it needs some light editing) and really sells me on how miiCard would be useful to me. The layout on all pages is attractive and easy to follow. However, I strongly recommend that you 1) replace the conference presentation video with a real intro video that’s short, sweet, and sales-oriented and 2) create a pricing page so users know what they’re getting into before they sign up.
Â
One more word of caution: Although your site pitches the product well, you may find it hard to actually make sales until a number of major businesses are accepting miiCard.
Visit https://www.miicard.com. What do you think the site is about?
From the first sentence that I read I was able to understand that the site had to do with online identity.Â
Where do you think miiCard would be useful? Who would use it?
I am certain that miiCard would be something that anyone and everyone could find useful at some point in their life. Â Much like some of the payment services that are out there now, it is something that will have a wide variety of uses once more companies start to use the service as a means of identification.
Are you encouraged to register for the beta? If not, why?
I am very interested in registering for the beta with one exception. Â The only thing that prevents me from registering is the fact that the beta of anything is where all the kinks get worked out. Â That makes me feel as if there is a possibility that my personal information could be at risk until after the beta phase. Â Even the six months free for those who sign up for the beta isn’t quite enough to make up for the possible risk of personal information not being thoroughly protected until all the bugs get worked out.
Is there anything missing or anything you don’t like about the site?
I am not too fond of the way that it looks to have the (aka My Internet Identity Card) in parentheses. Â I think that it detracts from what is being said by having the parentheses there because it leaves me wondering why they are needed in the first place. Â I also believe that somewhere on the homepage it needs to state that personal information is not given out to the sites in order to prove your identity. Â It needs to state that the identity is proven through only the information that you are willing to share with different businesses so that there can be no assumptions that the site and it’s administrators are the ones who decide what of your personal information gets given to the different places that you may use miiCard.
Do you know of anyone who would be interested in using or writing about this new service?
I know many who would be interested in using the service if it was going to be something that was provided for free. Â Paypal is a basically free service that helps to protect your information from identity theft and they only take a percentage of money that you are paid through them, but allow you to pay for products and services through them without any associated fees. Â A system that charges a flat monthly fee is not something that a lot of families can fit into their budgets at this particular time due to the fact that the economy has not completely recovered from the severe decline yet.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have. Thank You!
While a 2-step verification process is great for security purposes, there are a number of people who choose not to have text messaging on their phone plan. Â These people are not likely to want to change their phone plan just to get a service that they are having to pay for. Â It would be better if there was another option to the sms message.
What do you think the site is about?
I think this site is about getting an online identity. I’m not so sure it’s a good idea. People aren’t always honest and I think having a site to get an online identity is like getting a fake ID. I sure wouldn’t trust someone with one of these.
Where do you think miiCard would be useful? Who would use it?
It seems like it can be used for anything. I still am not sold on the idea.
As for who would use it, I think some bigger businesses might have one or two to sell their products and maybe some small business owners. I think that’s it.
Are you encouraged to register for the beta?
I am encouraged to register for the beta. It’s placed in a spot where I cannot miss it.
Is there anything missing or anything you don’t like about the site?
I think I made myself clear in the first question. I don’t think having a digital identity is a good idea. As I said before, some people aren’t honest to begin with.
Do you know of anyone who would be interested in using or writing about this new service?
I don’t think so.
. What do you think the site is about?
This site obviously wants to build on trust through its community of registered members. Online fraud and theft runs rampid so security is key.
Where do you think miiCard would be useful? Who would use it?
Miicard would be useful for “mom and pop” online businesses. People that are looking for bargains, I myself would like to make purchases from these types of websites especially hard to find items.
Are you encouraged to register for the beta? If not, why?
No, I would not register for beta. The majority of online companies that provide such services as buying and selling already have something similar implemented, so this is not a new idea.
Is there anything missing or anything you don’t like about the site?
The site aesthically is pleasing to the eye, very simple. However in my opinion, I dont see any sort of benefits from joining. Miicard should offer some kind of member rewards or rewards program of some sort to really encourage new registration.
Do you know of anyone who would be interested in using or writing about this new service?
No, not at this moment.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have. Thank You!
Personally I think this would take off if they hooked up with companies that are already huge, but as a stand alone service or product i dont see the urgency or need for people to actually sign up for this.
Visit https://www.miicard.com.
What do you think the site is about? It is a service that offers a way to prove your identity. Just like you would if you was offline face to face with someone. This would be useful to many people, businesses and online merchants.
Where do you think miiCard would be useful? I thing it would be very useful when shopping online, applying for credit and using secure sites that need your true identity. I think large and small businesses and personal users would really enjoy using a service like this.
Who would use it? I think eveyone would use it. People who shop online, apply for credit, businesses, loan officers, dating sites, and so much more. This would be a service I could see everyone using often, Â just like a cell phone.
Are you encouraged to register for the beta? If not, why? Yes, I am . I am very interested in this service. I look forward in reading about it more.
Is there anything missing or anything you don’t like about the site? Maybe a little more information about the service, and examples of who and where to use the service. Other than that, I think the site is nice, clean and bright and nice in color.
Do you know of anyone who would be interested in using or writing about this new service? Yes, I know a lot of people who would be interested in this service, and finding more information about the service.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have. Great service and website, Thank You!
Thanks for the feedback and great point about the beta. I’ll be sure to improve our communications around this and how we’re making it secure. Also noted your concerns around Social Networking and will work on making this clearer.
Thanks,
Cassie @miiCard
Great feedback on design and messaging which we’re using to improve our site just now.
Thank you,
Cassie @miiCard
Thank you for the feedback, particularly your points around building trust for miiCard. I’ll be sure to get those links to our press coverage up very soon (they are news articles and not advertisements).
Thanks,
Cassie @miiCard
Â
Thanks for the feedback – you’re spot on about needing to show the product and app images will be added soon (we’re just finalising the user interface now). You’re points on needing to be clear about security, trust and privacy are also appreciated.
Â
Thank you,
Cassie @miiCard
Thank you for the comprehensive feedback – really appreciated. Pricing page will go up next week. For info it will be charged at USD $20 (£12) per year, or $1.99 (£1.50) per month (with cancel anytime, no lock-in terms).
Thanks,
Cassie @miiCard
Thank you for the feedback, I understand your reservations around the beta and will tighten our messaging around the security of our beta release and work on clarifying that is the identity validation and only the information you choose that is shared with participating vendors.
I understand from our development team that 2-factor authentication will be available through a call service as an alternative to sms. This will be a future development but should help those who do not have text plans, thank you for making me aware of this.
Thanks,
Cassie
Thanks for the feedback. We understand miiCard won’t be for everyone, but it is a service that will help those who do want to prove their identity online to do so. Fake identity and ID theft exists offline as well as online, miiCard offer a good measure of protection for those who want to build trust and accountability with those they are interacting with online. We’re working hard to build trust and credibility around the brand which is what many people understandably want to see.
Thank you,
Cassie @miiCard
Thanks for the feedback. This suggests we have a lot more to do in communicating miiCard’s USPs more clearly.
Â
Thank you,
Cassie @miiCard
Thanks for the feedback – we’ll be sure to add some visual examples of miiCard in use soon.
Â
Thank you,
Cassie @miiCard
