  1. 1. My overall impression of the site is that it has a very masculine feel based on the color scheme (black, red and grey) and its images. It also seems very hip, young and fresh. It allows you to choose from a mix of workout music based on the exercise you are doing, which is a novel idea.

    2. Done.

    3. Done.

    4. I tried to download an app onto my Android phone, but there doesn’t seem to be an app available yet.

    5. I’m frustrated by the fact that there isn’t an option to buy additional music from DJ Deekron on the website (or at least I couldn’t find it). I wouldn’t be able to unless I scoured the internet for another place to buy it. Also some of the mixes have a long introduction that mentions the sponsors and gives advice about drinking water. This can be frustrating since as a user I would like to get to the music right away. I also wish that there was a way to choose the music based on the genre or have more options other than house/electronica.

I really liked the way that the music was categorized. By organizing the music based on the exercise (such as running music, cardio, power walking, or interval training it makes it very easy for someone that’s new to the site to find music that can help optimize their workout.

I also liked that there are different mixes based on different coaches who are known for different specialties. The fact that there is a bio page with all of the coaches and a list of their certifications is very helpful.

Another advantage is that it is free and offers legal music, so you don’t have to worry about copyright issues.

    6. I would make the website more gender neutral and create an Android app so that you can get more subscribers. Another suggestion is to include more categories (such as kickboxing) in the exercise categories. Another thing I would change is to make it clear what BPM stands for since some people may not know or understand.

  2. 1. It looks like you provide music mixes intended to accompany workout sessions, fitness classes, and so on.

    2. The subscription process worked for me. When I clicked “Subscribe Free” on the home page, I got a pop-up window asking me for a user name and email, and then I got a window asking me to choose a music delivery method. I then got two confirmation emails, one with my user name and password and one announcing that I’m subscribed to your newsletter. I’m not a big fan of newsletters, so I’ll probably unsubscribe from that. Also, I wish I could choose my own password from the outset. I’m not a fan of random nonsense passwords that I then need to change.

    3. I liked that I could search for mixes either by exercise style, BPM, or musical style. I chose to look for a power walking mix. It was easy enough to select mixes to preview, but I found the introductory voiceover for each one to be too long. I like that users can vote up the best tracks. Once I chose a mix, I was able to download it fairly quickly and open it on my computer without any trouble. However, I was a little disappointed that the long introductory voiceover was part of the download. I thought that was just for demo purposes.

    4. Yes, I was able to upload it to a mobile. It played like any other MP3.

    5. Here are my likes and dislikes:

    Likes
    –The variety of search options.
–The variety of mixes to choose from.
–The guided mixes with coaching. That’s an interesting idea.

    Dislikes
–The home page is too busy. I was overwhelmed by all the images and ads.
–The long intro voiceover on every track. I can see it’s a running mix at 150-160 BPM or whatever. I don’t need to listen to someone repeat that info on every track before it gets started.
–The placement of most of your tabs at the bottom of the home page. If you don’t want to clutter the top navbar, consider some drop-down menus. For instance, you might put “The Music,” “The Fitness DJ,” and “The Coaches” under “About,” and you might put “FAQs,” “How to Access Our Music,” “Use Motion Traxx Safely,” and “Fitness Music Articles” under “Help” or “Get Started” or something like that. You may want to move your blog to the top navbar too. Pages like this get lost down at the bottom, and they really are important. For example, until I started browsing through them, I had no idea that a DJ and/or coaches were supposed to be part of each mix. If I wasn’t reviewing this site, I probably wouldn’t have bothered to look through the tabs at the bottom, and I never would’ve known that. You want to sell the coached mixes, correct? If so, you absolutely need to make sure visitors know about them!
–I don’t really like that you automatically subscribe me to a newsletter when I sign up. That’s a bit of a pain. I also don’t love getting assigned random passwords because, as I said, it’s a hassle to figure out how to change them later.

    6. I’d start by de-cluttering the home page. There are just too many images and ads. I’d choose one central image and maybe follow that with a couple of top five lists or category listings to encourage visitors to get started. I’d follow that up by revising the top navbar to include a few more tabs with drop-down menus to encompass some of the important pages that currently get lost at the bottom. After that, I’d redo the mixes so that the voiceover intro isn’t so long for each one. Finally, I’d think about offering mixes both with and without DJing. Even though I liked the idea of DJs and coaches once I read about them, some people might not need guidance in their workouts and might find the interruptions annoying. Those people should have the option of downloading uninterrupted music.

That’s about it. You have a good selection of mixes, and it’s very easy to search for them and download them. I think if you can reorganize your home page somewhat, you might see your traffic increase.

  3. 1. Go to the homepage and give your initial impression as to what the site is about.
I like the website, I think from the pictures to the background its eye catching as well as obvious the website has something to do with working out.
    2. Try subscribing.
Easy process. Love that it even offers apps, its great that you added it to the subscription site so no one would miss it.
    3. Find mixes that interest you and try downloading a free mix.
    Simple.
    4. Open up the free mix on your computer and play it for a few seconds. If you have one, try downloading it to your mobile device or iPod. Play it on your mobile device / iPod. Did it work?

I was not able to since I have a n android.
    5. What frustrated you most about this site? What did you like?

I think the first page was great, but it seemed like it was a little cramped with information. The music page was great to me it was easy to navigate and was not cluttered with so much other information. Except I could not help looking at all the work out videos on the side of the music selection. It really does not have anything to do with the music, yes its working out but it is a whole different subject and it seems like you just cluttered a bunch on to not have empty spaces. Also most individuals look for toggling bars at the top, with you having it at the bottom a lot of individuals will get confused.
    6. If you had a magic wand, how would you improve this site?

I would just change all of the clutter of the ads for the different exercise. As well as the first page make it less fluttered with information. First page should be an introduction about what your offering, not everything on one page.
