What is your first impression of the site? Is it immediately clear what MyPersonalShopper.com is about?
You can guess from the name alone… My Personal shopper, of course it will help me with shopping ! And that idea was further reinforced with the trolley you have as a logo.
Sign up. Do you find the sign up process is easy? Would you consider using the site in the future?
I am sorry to say that I don’t like that method at all. You gave no introduction to the sign up, you basically just asked me, here, tell me your interests, what you like. I actually thought it was a survey, and then BAM! Give me your details ! I don’t like that.
It would be more respectful if you asked “Do you want to sign up?” first, before asking those questions. You should get a “Sign Up” Button. For it to be clear for everyone. Not a “Tell us a little about yourself to get started” that can have heaps of connotations.
How would you suggest we get the press to cover the site?
Ummm… This is a hard question. Get more advertising done online first, then get more loyal recruits. And at one point, the press will notice your website. You could also pay some people to write articles about your website. Or publich an advertisement in the newspaper?
If your website is good, the press will notice it sooner or later anyway. Just do what you are doing !

Not enough images on the homepage. And you used the ticks way too much, 9 ticks adjacent to each other is too much. Reduce this or put them futher apart. Or you could use only 3 big ticks, with “All the best deals”, “Only what you want” and “Easy to use”. And then, provide make them hyperlinks to redirect or pop up the more detailed information.
You could also make your website more attractive if you had more colours in your colour scheme. I mean, it’s green everywhere… You could have added another colour? yellow maybe? The various degrees of green makes the websites a bit boring.
But, I like the style of your website. It is concise, simple and easy to navigate. You do not provide much graphics, but not too much information as well ! Which is good. Unless you have a link for “details”. I like the boxes that you use in your tab links.
I forgot to answer the question “Would you consider using the website in the future?”
Â
My answer is: If I were interested in shopping and if your website became popular and got good ratings, yes sure why not ! But currently no. I am not the type to risk my money on beta website, I would rather bet it on reknown websites that have proven their eligibility throughout the years.
What is your first impression of the site? Is it immediately clear what MyPersonalShopper.com is about?
First impression is that it want to help me shop (and spend my money). What is the catch? Do you charge a small percentage fee for helping?
Sign up. Do you find the sign up process is easy? Would you consider using the site in the future?
There is a “Login” link. I think it would be helpful if it said “Login/Register” since I don’t see registration link. I do not see a registration link anywhere. That might be a problem. So signing up is hard to do since it is not apparent where to register at. The login page does not have an obvious registration tab either. I am assuming the “tell something about yourself to get started” is the beginning of the registration process, but that is very confusing and not very apparent. Wish it actually said registration somewhere. That being said, the said does not give the impression it is a premium product. If I am price comparing, I would most likely use Nextag.com
How would you suggest we get the press to cover the site?
Press – You need to submit your site to a wide range of startup exposure places and most of all, have a premium product so you will get good press. As is, it is confusing and you need to make sure there are no confusing steps (registration) before having real people review your site.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
Actionable suggestions:
1. Overall graphics/font: look ok, not bad, sloppy, and no obvious errors.
2. Registration needs to be clearly labeled.
3. I am assuming you send via email daily deals, refurbished items, clearance sales, etc. – what if people don’t want spam mail. Can you offer a browsing section on your site? Lots of people don’t do email.
4. I would like to see a brand image on your homepage of a happy shopper or smiling face. Something that makes your brand more real, like a picture of your staff or a real person with a shopping cart.
5. I don’t think you should have registration questions on your homepage. This should be on a dedicated registration page. Not appropriate for homepage.

What is your first impression of the site? Is it immediately clear what
MyPersonalShopper.com is about?
I thought several things when I first clicked on your site. One, it was definitely easy to see what your sitea was about. You want to assiting me in finding deals for the things that I like. I liked that the page was sort of short but I think I lacked some information. I was also attracted to the green because after reading your tagline it made me think of saving money.
Sign up. Do you find the sign up process is easy? Would you consider using the site in the future?
I immediately looked for a sign up button but that was not the case here. Some might be turned off by having to enter their personal preferences instead of being able to just sign up. To me its not knowing if the sign up would be a long process. That being said it picking my preferences and entering my personal information was rather shorter than what I expected. When I got to the “clothes” and “stuff” I felt rather limited in my possible selections from each section. You have so many stores I felft that I might be missing out on other deals because I couldn’t pick more than 5 selections. Yes I could see myself using this site.
How would you suggest we get the press to cover the site?
Your site is obviously about shopping so it would be nice to some branding on your site. People are attracted to that. You may want to get on sites like twitter, facbook and myspace and set up pages there. You may also want to advertise in newpapers. If you want to hit a grass roots level you may want to pay some college students to pass our flyers on there campus. It doesn’t have to be much money college students appreciate all they can get. You may want to talk to stores that are lacking in sales and show them how they could benefit from different forms of exposure for added venues of sells.

I was a disappointed in that some of the selections that I chose had nothing to view when I clicked on them. With so much empty space on the left side of the page I would have liked to able to choose more selections. I feel as though if its my store why am I being limited to being able to get great deals. If your going to limit selections maybe you ought to add a quick search tab. I was also wondering why were there so few items under each category. At the most all I saw was 6 and and some others had less than that. When I saw the see more button I thought, thats when I would see products liked the one I clicked on but that was not the case, sort of. I saw more selections but it was from the actual site itself. I think that you really need to highlight why people should visit your site first instead of just going to the regular itself. I see that you e-mail 100 to the person with the best suggestion and it shame that your not playing that aspect of. This make me think of the college student and the social networking sites I mentioned earlier. I think that your site needs to be more fun and exciting.

What is your first impression of the site? Is it immediately clear what MyPersonalShopper.com is about?
My first impression of the web-site is that the colour scheme looks good and the layout is good, and not too cluttered. Overall I had a good first impression of the web-site.
I think the MyPersonalShopper.com web-site is quite logical, and I understood quite quickly what the web-site was about. Basically it enable the user to pick certain brands, and then you create an account and then you have to ability to purchase certain products you have chosen a preference for at a discount. Very good idea.
Sign up. Do you find the sign up process is easy? Would you consider using the site in the future?
I found the signing up process quite easy, and straight forward to understand, enabling me to chosen different products I like and am interested in purchasing. I would definitely consider using this site.
How would you suggest we get the press to cover the site?
I would possible do an event launch where there is a donation to charity, and possibly a celebrity who could use the site, with cameras present, and a interview after promoting the site.

This web-site is a good idea, and has a lot of potential I think. My there might be a scheme, where a tiny percentage of profits (0.05%) goes to charity. Then it could be promoting extensively, as it happens in other business sectors. Good graphics and colour scheme. I would give the web-site an 8 out of 10.
What is your first impression of the site? Is it immediately clear what MyPersonalShopper.com is about?
First impression: I like the home page a lot. The name and shopping cart logo clearly identify that this is a site for shoppers, the tagline reinforces that, and then you have your selling points front and center. The tabs at the top are logical, and there’s no info overload on the page at all. The color scheme is nice, too. It makes one think of saving money.
Â
One criticism, though: I’m not sure I would’ve known immediately that your site basically aggregates coupons and other deals from other sites according to an individual’s preferences. Just from reading your selling points, I get the idea that this is another Groupon or Living Social or whatnot. I need you to say something like, “Create a shopper profile and we’ll find you the best deals on the web for only the products you want.”
Â
Sign up. Do you find the sign up process is easy? Would you consider using the site in the future?
Like most others here, I was confused by the fact that there was no sign-up button. I thought just jumping into questions about my personal preferences was kind of an odd way to start. I’d prefer to set up an account first. Also, I was disappointed that I had to limit my selections to the number you specified. That wouldn’t seem to make your service too useful to me if I regularly shop for a somewhat wider range of products and services. In addition, I was confused about the purpose of the box that said “Type In.” Was that for me to my own product categories? Another thing that confused me was the “percentage complete” bar. When I first saw it on the home page, I thought it was a load bar which meant I needed to wait for something else to load. Other than that, the sign-up process wasn’t bad, and I liked that you award a $100 prize to users who give you the best suggestions for improvement. That’s quite a nice incentive! And the answer to your second question is yes, I might use your service. I’ll have to see what kind of deals you send me.
Â
How would you suggest we get the press to cover the site?
Have you sent out press releases already and had no luck? Be sure you play up in your press releases that your site is the answer to Groupon and Living Social because you don’t just flood users with random deals; you tailor your deals to the user. I would also contact bloggers who specialize in shopping deals and ask them to review your site. In addition, are the businesses you partner with going to help you at all? It’s not uncommon to see established businesses include some promotional literature for online sites they’re partnering with in their direct mail packages or customer handouts. Press releases sometimes announce partnerships like that too (i.e., “Target announces partnership with new daily discount site”). Usually the established business bears more of the cost for that kind of advertising, but it benefits both of you because they want customers to take advantage of the deals they’re offering through your service. One more thought: Have you tried to get the attention of local radio and TV stations? It would probably be a lot cheaper to advertise there than at a national level.

I clicked the “Continue to your store” to see what kind of selection you’d offer me. I was disappointed that several of the categories I had chosen had no deals to offer at all. However, the other categories had a reasonable selection, and they were indeed the kind of products I was thinking of when I chose those categories. I was a little surprised, though, that some of the department store items were so specific. For instance, I was expecting to see something like deals on women’s v-neck tees or a particular brand of jeans or something. Instead, many of the deals seemed to be for a very specific top or a very specific dress. So if you didn’t happen to like that specific item, you’d be out of luck.
Â
Next, I decided to check out the other pages on your site. One thing I noticed right away was that you don’t have a privacy policy or any terms of service. That surprised me because I’m giving you personal information about my consumer preferences, so I’d like to know how you plan to use it.
Â
Anyway, my first stop was at How We Help. I thought you did a nice job of explaining your value proposition here. Again, it wasn’t totally clear to me on your home page.
Â
Next, I clicked Advertise. I really think this tab should be further to the right, maybe immediately before Logout, because all the other tabs are aimed at consumers. If a consumer is clicking through the tabs from left to right, this one, aimed at businesses, interrupts that flow. Anyway, I wasn’t as crazy about this page. It’s quite short and not too detailed. If I was a business, I’m not sure I’d be convinced to contact you just after reading this page. I’d be wondering about your reach. And this is a minor design issue, but when you list the three different methods of advertising–two that you’re claiming don’t work and MyPersonalShopper.com–you really need to set off MyPersonalShopper.com from the others in some way such as by enlarging the font or highlighting it in a different color or something. Right now, a quick glance makes it look like MyPersonalShopper.com is just another choice that doesn’t work.
Â
My next stop was About Us. Again, this page is quite short. It also has some spacing/indentation issues.
Â
Finally, I went to My Stuff and then realized I had already visited it. I really think this tab needs to be first on your home page (farthest to the left). This is where your users are immediately going to want to go when they arrive on the page.
Â
What else? Your copy looks good. No real problems there. Colors and layout are nice. I think it’s worth mentioning, though, that your site slowed down my computer terribly for awhile. I almost didn’t finish this review, it was so bad.
Â
Bottom line: This is a really good idea. But I think you need to make sure people know what makes your site different right on the home page. Don’t make them search for that info at About Us or How We Help because many of them won’t make it that far. Also, I’d love to see you enable users to select more than just three or five items from each category. In addition, I wish we could get even more specific with the items we choose. For example, Macy’s is a big store. Why couldn’t I select just women’s and children’s apparel from Macy’s or just jewelry and bed and bath items? As another example, if I choose Fine Dining as a category that interests me, why couldn’t I also specify the kind of cuisine I like such as Italian, Mexican, and Japanese? That would make your site even more useful, I think.
Â
Â
Sorry! I really need to proofread before I submit these things! When I was talking about my confusion over the Type In box, it should’ve read, “In addition, I was confused about the purpose of the box that said ‘Type In.’ Was that for me to ADD my own product categories?”
What is your first impression of the site? Is it immediately clear what MyPersonalShopper.com is about?
Love it! Customized online shopping with a smooth, professional looking layout.
It is immediately clear, however a user may misinterpret the name to mean that a real personal shopper/assist may be assigned to them and that they would be paying for that kind of service.
Sign up. Do you find the sign up process is easy? Would you consider using the site in the future?
Was a breeze to sign up. I am going to use this site. My only question is for the stores that are both brick and mortar and online-can you use the coupon for both or will that be addressed on the coupon?
Â
How would you suggest we get the press to cover the site?
Try to find a news article about a similar subject and find/contact the writer and ask them if they would like to elaborate on that topic. Worked for my small business locally!

Why is there a limit on category selections? Wouldn’t more be merrier?
