It looks like a website that lets you shorten your urls

    What do you find bothersome?
The website is very simple but taking into consideration the kind of site it is I’d say it’s perfect. There is nothing on this website that I find bothersome. What do you like?
I like that the website looks neat and in order, There’s no visible errors. You can make money with it!
What do you think of the sign up process?Would you sign up for a free account? If not, why?
The sign up process was very simple, takes under a minute to complete so I think it’s perfect. Doesn’t waste your time asking irrelevant information.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like bit.ly and adf.ly?
They are very similar except that this design looks a lot simpler, yet more mature and serious.

I think you should add a facebook like and follow us on twitter button. Also I think there should be a little more information about how this works on the website. Maybe a short video explaining the process.

  2. Visit https://nov.io . Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?

My initial impression on visiting this site is, it allows users to create shortened links to specific articles or websites on the Internet, place the links wherever the user chooses and then pays the user for the link. At first glance it seems that a user can make $5.00 per 1,000 visitors, as well as gaining a percentage of any referred user the original person gets to sign up makes from the site.

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.

The homepage is simplistic and easy to understand. The information any user would be looking for on what the site does is included on the homepage. Just from looking at the homepage it appears a user can create a shortened link without making a profile, but if they wish to be paid they must register. Clicking on the FAQ gives the user a more detailed idea of what is involved in creating the links and how they will be paid by the site. I would suggets putting the FAQ link in a banner heading as well as at the bottom of the page, or perhaps an About US detailing the idea behind the website and how it is different from tinyURL or bit.ly. It would appear one of the other differences between this site and others like it are, a user may not link to certain sites using this service, and this is due to the ad placement.

The site is clean and simple, it’s not an eye catching site, but it’s functional and straight to the point. I would also suggest perhaps having testimonals from existing users, and perhaps more about the benefits of registering with the site in eye catching colors. I would also add how does the site pay their users? Are there different plans, like Paypal, Check or something else? That should be on the homepage or even the FAQ.

What do you find bothersome? What do you like?

I didn’t find anything bothersome except for not being able to find how the site pays their users. It was an easy site to navigate and find the information I needed. I liked that it was easy to understand how the site works, except I would perhaps make it more noticeable on the homepage than it is at present. I would also suggest paying on all ads and not just the ones relevant to a particular country. I believe this would be a bigger draw, as the Internet is international and it’s possible a visitor clicking on a link will not see an ad relevant to them. Perhaps general ads could pay less, but it would still keep people creating links if they are seeing results.
What do you think of the sign up process?

The sign up process was quick and easy, it didn’t take too long and didn’t require any unnecessary information.

Would you sign up for a free account? If not, why?

I would sign up for a free account. I think it’s not only a good site to create shortened links, but I like the idea of being able to make money from any links I create. I think it could end up being a very popular idea and be the go to site for creating shortened links; if the site promotes the fact that they pay per link unlike other sites.

How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like bit.ly and adf.ly?

I believe the site compares very well with other similar sites, and has the advantage of paying for links created and clicked on. The site design is similar in its simple, clean design, and quick easy link making. Where the site stands out against its competitors is, it pays the user to create and paste links like normal.

Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.

I would suggest creating a banner or colorful links on the homepage describing how a user can make money by creating links. Bring the FAQ up from the bottom and create an About Us page about how the site works. I would suggest letting the visitors know how the site will pay, by which method and finally making all clickable ads payable, even if the generic ads pay less than country specific.

  3. Visit https://nov.io . Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about? I thought that the website was about shortening links for money

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
I like that the main page is very simple. It has a professional appearance. What I find bothersome is the tag line about earning money. From that, I am hesitant. It makes it seem like earning money is easy and right away my guard is up. I wish there was more information up front so I wouldn’t be so skeptical. I like the colors. They are inviting and not too harsh. Color scheme is coordinated nicely.
What do you think of the sign up process?
I feel that the initial sign up is easy. I like how you don’t have to go to another page you can immediately complete your basic sign up from the home page. The second page where you can update your account information is easy as well. Very quick and efficient
Would you sign up for a free account? If not, why?
Yes I would to try it out. Since I shorten links frequently and have a large readership, I would try it out. It’s extra money.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like bit.ly and adf.ly?
I think that it is competitive with them. This process seems simpler that theirs and better for the end user. I like the simplicity of the campaign and cluterless site.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I think it’s a great concept and now am curious to try it out. I think you will have success with this site. I would maybe have graphics showing how you can make money (step by step) to appeal to the visual learners

  4. Visit https://nov.io . Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
Your site allow people to earn money by sharing their url links on the internet.
Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
I like that you have such a short homepage and that it is so simple to understand and follow. Your is very basic in that anyone could get to your site and quickly understand what’s going on. The colors and layout of your site are simple but with a such as this is works just fine. I would have like to see your faqs, payout rates and contact tabs near the top of the page because those are key elements to your site.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
As I stated before I understand that your site is simple in terms of what it does but I just find it to be boring visually. There seems to be nothing to draw you in with. I would have like to see the font a little bigger and a wider use of space on the page. I would like to see some testimonials especially when you have a site that boast earning money. There are so many scam sites so I think you need to do something to insure people that this is not one of them. For a person such as myself I don’t understand what it means to shorten links so it would be nice to see a sample of that or a quick how to section. I like that I could immediately click on the payout rates info under the why choose us section. Again for a lay person the usage of the language, ” Interstitials CPM and Top Banner CPM confuse me.” What is CPM? You want to make sure you leaving no guessing for the user. Anyone should be able to jump on your and quickly debunk anythig they don’t understand others you may lose users that way. I really liked the faqs page. It was straight forward adn I like that your warn users about possible changes and that you don’t shy away with the non uses of your sites such as posting on adult pages. I would have liked to see a home tab and a tab or section that would allow me to sign up on any page of your site. It’s not fun having to keep hitting the back key to get to the homepage.

What do you think of the sign up process?
The sign up process was quick and easy but I would like to have had confirmation sent to my email address. I also like what when sites send your username and password just in case someone forgets they can always refer back to it. On the second page of sign up I see that you have a business and personal account. Is there a difference in the two? Either way you should inform people that they have an option. Can someone a personal and business account? I like that you have a two step sign in process as not to overwhelm the homepage with information.

Would you sign up for a free account? If not, why?
If I understood exactly how your site works then I would sign up for a free account. Again testimonials go a long way with a site such as this.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like bit.ly and adf.ly?
I think that it compares well with the others site. Again I would have liked to see a betters usage of color but the simplicity of your sites is betters and you get paid for regular shorten links.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I just think you need to address the color, a how to section and a “key” to explain any terms someone might not be familar with. I have explained this in the above section but reiterating some of key elements I think need to be adjusted. I just feel if you think you have a great site just because the premise is simple don’t be afraid to visually draws users in.

  5. What do you think the site is about?
Just from looking at the home page? I’m not sure. I don’t understand what kind of service you’re offering. Are you saying that you’ll pay me to post short links to your site or to sites that partner with you on my various personal accounts (like an affiliate program)? Are you saying that you’ll enable me to reduce my own URLs to short links that will redirect to my own site so that I can more easily post my links on the Web for potential customers? I don’t get it just from reading the home page.

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
As I said above, I don’t understand the purpose of Nov.io just from reading the home page. I usually don’t have any trouble figuring out what a web site is about within the first 30 seconds, so this stands out to me as a problem. I tried clicking on your short link example, but that took me to a page where I had to wait five seconds for an advertisement to load. Well, the ad never loaded. I was then offered a button that I could click to skip the ad, but when I tried that, I was redirected to Google for some reason. I tried this process twice, and the same thing happened the second time. So, my first issue with the home page is that it doesn’t adequately explain what a short link is and why I would want to use it.

Second, your home page is extremely plain. The font is small, and there are no visuals. There’s nothing to stand out and grab my attention or get me excited about your service. You don’t necessarily have to have visuals, but I’d at least like to see some bigger, bolder text with some bullet points or other more professional, appealing design features.

You don’t really have a lot of informational pages up yet, so there’s not that much to review, but I checked out Payout Rates, Contact, and FAQ. (I wish that all these pages were included on a navbar at the top of the home page, by the way. They get somewhat lost down at the bottom of the page.) Anyway, the chart on the Payout Rates page is nicely organized, but I still don’t understand what I’m getting paid for. I’m supposed to be posting links to your affiliates around the Net? Displaying them on my own site? What exactly? The Contact page looks okay. I don’t love captchas, but I understand why you use them.

I was hoping that the FAQ would address my questions about Nov.io, but it wasn’t as helpful as I expected. After reading the FAQ, I understand that Nov.io shortens links that the user supplies and then displays an ad every time the link is clicked. What I still don’t understand is what kind of link you want the user to supply. A link to the user’s personal web site? A link to an advertiser or affiliate that the user works with? Maybe this would all be clearer to me if I made a living as one of those link spammers you see on YouTube and such. As it is, I don’t advertise my site that way, so I don’t really understand how Nov.io’s services would work for me. Also, I find that the FAQ raises more questions for me than it answers. For instance, first it says that earnings depend on link clicks. But then it says that earnings depend on how many visitors actually watch the video ad. So which is it? And then apparently I can’t set up a test link. So how am I supposed to know if the link works and if I like the way it displays and so on?

What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
What I find bothersome is that I don’t get a real understanding of the service that Nov.io provides and how it would benefit me. I don’t understand it on the home page, and I don’t understand it even after digging further into the site.

I can’t say that I really like anything about the site right now. It’s pretty bare bones, so there’s not a lot to focus on.

What do you think of the sign up process?
I easily found the registration on the home page. I liked that once I signed up, I was able to sign into my account right away without having to confirm from my email or anything like that. Once I got into my account, I was faced with an “Update Your Account Details” form that required a lot of personal information from me, so I didn’t proceed beyond this point. Unfortunately, I was unable to access any of the other pages in my account without providing this sensitive information.

Would you sign up for a free account? If not, why?
Well, I did sign up, but I think what you want to know is whether I would use Nov.io. The answer is that I might if I really understood how it worked and how it could help me as a web entrepreneur.

How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like bit.ly and adf.ly?
I had heard of adf.ly but had never checked it out before. I hadn’t heard of bitly. It seems that both bitly and adf.ly have attractive home pages with nice color, cute visuals, and more well-defined text. In this respect, they have a leg up on Nov.io. However, I don’t find that either site does a better job than Nov.io in explaining the purpose of short links on the home page. In this regard, all three sites are deficient, in my opinion. However, when I dig further into adf.ly and bitly, they both have FAQ pages (called Knowledge Base and Help, respectively) which give me a clearer picture. After reading these pages, my impression is that these link shortening services are designed for people who either want to post spam links around the Net or post outbound links on their own sites and track them. I have to say that both adf.ly and bitly do a better job of explaining this than Nov.io. In fact, adf.ly and bitly are better sites all around. They have quite detailed FAQ pages, and bitly, in particular, presents a lot of additional information in the form of technical help pages, company news, and so on. Adf.ly is less extensive but has a nice user forum. In terms of selling points, Adf.ly offers payment for link clicks just like Nov.io does, but it looks like Nov.io has better payout rates. Bitly doesn’t seem to pay at all. So you definitely have an advantage over both adf.ly and bitly in that regard.

Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
My overall impression of Nov.io is that your service offers a better incentive for participation than either of your competitors due to your high payout rates. However, I don’t feel that you do a good job of selling your service. Your home page is very plain and unassuming, especially compared to your competitors. Notice how they use color and cute logos and make their text bigger and bolder. They also include a number of informational pages that help to explain their services and how users can benefit. They provide technical help, company information, and, in some cases, a way for users to interact. I find that Nov.io is lacking in these areas. It would benefit from a much more detailed FAQ, an about page, a help page or forum, and perhaps a blog.

I also have to say that all three of the short link services I have seen now (Nov.io, adf.ly, and bitly) all fail to communicate their purpose right upfront. I had to dig around at each of these sites before I really understood what short links are and how and why they’re used. At Nov.io, even digging around didn’t really help me understand it. I feel like Nov.io and the other sites assume a certain basic knowledge of short links and link marketing that many people don’t have. It seems to me that you could potentially expand your client base if you didn’t assume prior familiarity and took the time to really explain how and why short links are used and who can benefit from them. For instance, I would love to see your home page have a prominent section that says something like:

    What are short links?
Short links are brief versions of full-length links. Short links are much faster to post and great when space is limited. Plus, now you can earn advertiser dollars anytime your short link gets a click!

    Who can use short links?
Anyone! You can create a short link for:
    –Your web site URL
    –Your affiliate and advertiser links
    –Your Facebook and Twitter links
    –And much more!

How do short links make money?
Your short links will display a brief ad before redirecting to your specified URL. Every time the ad gets viewed, you’ll earn cash!

  6. Visit https://nov.io . Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
As i have personally used adf.ly service, so i understood within seconds of my first visit to your site that it provides Url shortening service which is paid as well. But a newbie who is unfamiliar with these services will certainly be in some confusion for some time at very first visit.

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like
I don’t personally like the look of your site, it is too simple. If comparison is made with adf.ly and bit.ly , your site doesn`t looks attractive. Especially the space left for that light blue background is bothering me.
The sign up process is well put together at the home page making it much easier to join.It is yet simpler but straight to the point. One more thing I like is the Proxy traffic deal offer at the payout rates list. I think it means that your site is offering for proxy traffic as well, it’s a new thing for me to know. The example short link worked just fine and took me to google.com after I skipped the ad.

What do you think of the sign up process?

The Sign up process is very much easier by putting it on the home page and skipping irrelevant details. People will find it convenient to register withing seconds.

Would you sign up for a free account? If not, why?

The only thing which is attracting me to sign up is the $5/1000 visits, which is the best rate you are giving when compared to other giants in this field.Members of other sites will definately give it a try including me.
The most important factor in this case is the positive feedback among community of social networking sites, for example, i will search for people that are using your service to know whether your site is a legit paying site or a scam and certainly most of others will also have the same mindset as mine.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like bit.ly and adf.ly?

When compared with bit.ly, your site has a long way to go to reach the state of comparison with bit.ly. Bit.ly is much advanced site, it has the sign in option from facebook and twitter as well making it to stand out from the rest, along with having many more advanced integration as well.
When compared with adf.ly, your site simply lacks an eye catching design but the $5/1000 visits is one thing that would consider to be the smarter move by your site. Adf.ly pays through both Paypal and Alertpay, while your are only paying through Paypal.

Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.

First thing first, make an attractive web design or template for your site so that atleast a visitor feel attracted to your site on his/her very first glimpse. Some good looking graphics will force the visitor to pay attention to the site and he/she will be wondering about the content of your site.
You should define privacy policy of your site.
Sign in with facebook and sign in with twitter options will be very much helpful if integrated to your site.
Addition of Feedback section will give your site a positive approach.

  7. Visit https://nov.io. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?

Honestly, my first thought was that the site might be some sort of Spanish dating site, since “novio” means a boyfriend or male romantic partner in Spanish.

After viewing the page for a few seconds, it appears that the site allows users to shorten Web links, and provides some sort of financial incentive for doing so, although how that works isn’t entirely clear to me.

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.

I like the simplicity of the home page, although I can’t help noticing that the layout of the page is extremely similar to that of the Facebook home page — not a criticism; just something that sticks out.

I appreciate that you provide a sample link on the home page to show what the service actually does, although it’s a little strange that the link redirects me away from your site and onto the Google home page. Don’t you want visitors to stay on your site? A better alternative would be to have the link load in a separate window.

Also, on the copyright line on the bottom of each page, I find the link to the site’s home page to be redundant and unnecessary, especially on the home page.

What do you find bothersome? What do you like?

On the home page, I don’t understand the purpose of providing a form on the page to shorten URLs before I’ve registered for the site, or can anyone — even non-members — shorten URLs with this site? That isn’t clear to me.

I like the simple, muted colors, and the low-key, uncluttered design of the pages. The links included in the description on the home page don’t stand out very well because they’re not bolded or underlined to make them look like links, but I like that the links to all the important pages on the site are clearly placed on the bottom right of each page.
One thing that you might want to emphasize more on the home page is how you make money from this service, and how users make money, and the role advertisements play in it. This is covered on the FAQ page, but I don’t think a lot of people will bother going to that page to find the information. It would be best to be direct and honest with your potential users, and clearly state on the home page that clicking on the shortened links will redirect users to a page with advertisements, and that users will receive a small portion of the money you earn when someone views the ads. It seems misleading otherwise.

It would also be helpful to note on the home page that you pay users via PayPal. This information is buried on the FAQ page, but it’s important enough to post on the front page.

What do you think of the sign up process?

The sign up process is simple and straightforward, although I find it strange that I have to log in to the site separately, after I’ve already registered. Is there a way to automatically log me in to my account after I register? Also, I find it strange that I didn’t receive an email confirming my registration. That’s just something I’ve come to expect when I sign up at a Web site.

After registering for the site, I logged in to my account, only to find that I’ve been directed to a page that asks me to submit even more information. That was unexpected and a little frustrating.

Would you sign up for a free account? If not, why?

Possibly. The process is easy enough, and the site seems trustworthy enough — especially with the link to the “Terms and Conditions” page nearby. I might spend a few seconds to sign up for the service, just to see if I could make a little money with it.

How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like bit.ly and adf.ly?

Both bit.ly and adf.ly appear much more legitimate than this site, to be honest. Bit.ly doesn’t appear to offer incentives for their links, but adf.ly includes the PayPal logo prominently on their home page. Both of those sites also have a high-quality, “friendly” feel to them that this site — while simple and professional — somewhat lacks. Both of those sites also do a good job of appearing user-friendly, and give the impression that their service is genuinely helpful for users, while this site feels a little like a thinly-veiled attempt at making a quick buck.

Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.

On the Account Information page that loads after I log in to my account, there are several issues I find. Most frustrating to me is finding that the “Home”, “Referral”, “Tools”, “Withdraw” and “Account” links on the top right of the page don’t work, and simply redirect me to the same page. Very strange. Also, when I’m any page of the site while I’m logged in, clicking on the logo on the top left redirects me to my account information page, when I expect to reach the home page.

In the information fields on the account page, “Zipcode” should be labeled “ZIP Code”, and the sentence above the password forms is poorly formed. It would be better as 2 sentences: “You may update your password here if you wish. It’s good practice to change it regularly.” Also, the Payment Processor selector on the page seems unnecessary, since PayPal is the only payment option.

Elsewhere on the site, the Payout Rates page seems a little complicated for the casual user to understand — too much marketing jargon on there, and you might want to make it more clear that the payments listed are for every 1,000 unique visitors who view an ad from the shortened URL, just to be honest and give users a realistic idea of what to expect.

Also, why are there no Facebook, Twitter or Google+1 buttons on the site? Social networks are a great way to promote a site like this.

Overall, a greater attention to some details and making a concerted effort to show that your service is helpful and that you legitimately “care” about your users would go a long way in making this site a success.

  8. Visit https://nov.io . Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
Well, it feels like tinyurl, only you earn money for it. It sound great.

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
I like how simple it is. There’s hardly anything to talk about. Right at home, there’s everything you want: the big bit where you put in your url, your log in, your sign up, bits of text. It’s simple, great, and easy to use.
Sometimes, though, it looks too simple. Maybe you could add a navigation bar? It’s always reassuring to see one.

What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
I really don’t find anything bothersome. It’s a great site.
I like everything about the site, the simplicity, the aim, the service, everything.
Of course, that was before I tried logging in.
I found that after I log in, I had to submit all this data about where I lived, what my phone number is, all that stuff. I certainly did not like that. It was an internet based service, and I saw no reason why you needed all that data. I was miffed off, thinking it a scam, I left the site.

What do you think of the sign up process?
The sign up is simple and great. I did not like what happened after I tried to log in. It asked me for some more information that I saw no reason for them to want. Being an internet based service, it shouldn’t require addresses and phone numbers, and it makes it look like a scam, taking too much info from me.

Would you sign up for a free account? If not, why?
I already have a free account, as I just signed in then. I will not use it, because I am afraid why they want so much information from me. Take that all out, or make submitting them optional, and I might consider using your service.

How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like bit.ly and adf.ly?
I checked adf.ly, and last time I checked (which was just then) and I don’t think they require that sort of information. I don’t know, because I haven’t got their e-mail yet. They are a competitor with you.
    As for bit.ly, they’re terrible.

Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
So really, it was a nice site expect for that unexpected part where you wanted my additional information. Take that out, and you’ll be the perfect site, and I’ll join you people.

  9. What do you think the site is about?

The site is about giving you a way to shorten your URL links on a website.

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.

I like the fact that the registration is simple. But I would like to see more flashy graphics and eye catching colors.  I think the What is Nov.io and Why choose us? should be placed within borders like the Shorten, Register and Login buttons.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
What I find bothersome is that the page is to dry; it’s to flavorless, dull.  But again I do like the simple registration.
What do you think of the sign up process?
The sign up process is perfect.  It’s not frustrating or irritating.
Would you sign up for a free account? If not, why?
Yes.  I would sign up for a free account.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like bit.ly and adf.ly?
I think the site is fine other than changing the schemes of colors and add graphics like bit.ly and it should probably be featured on social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.  I’m not a fan of adf.ly; it’s not very appealing to the eye.
