First thing I see is a simple (but aesthetic) design layout and large words about efficient project starters for questionnaires. Made me curious so I scrolled down, seeing the example, and am able to read more about what Osmosis is for. The tabs cycling through different aspects of the website is both really cool and helpful.Â

2) Think of something you want to find on this website. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?
I’m looking for pricing. All I had to do was click the pricing link at the top or scroll down a little past half-way to find well-priced options. Nothing is confusing at all. I really like the website layout.
Â
3) Are you encouraged to (create a new account, subscribe, sign up for a free trial, etc.)? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
No, because I currently have no need for the Products. But, if I do in the future, I believe Osmosis is where I would go. Definitely will recommend this to a few web dev friends of mine.

I actually could not find another company like Osmosis, which is a really good thing (i.e., Osmosis seems to be incredibly marketable and helpful). All I really found were “how to” sites and random templates that would still require me to do the bulk of the work. Â So I would definitely prefer Osmosis.

All-in-all, I think this website shows much promise! It looks incredibly helpful and, while I am not a web dev, it seems like it is an excellent price-per-month that would save a lot of time and money.Â
The only thing to consider would be put $_/ mo. after the pricing. I figured it was probably  a pay-per-month deal, but I wasn’t entirely sure if it was a monthly price or a yearly price. And seeing the three prices, then $99/ mo. for unlimited everything at the bottom made me wonder if there was a different pricing set-up.Â
Having the free trial is a phenomenal idea. I think many developers are going to take advantage of that.Â

1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
My first impression was that you have a detailed site initially itself. Lots of information, scrolling down the page, eye-catching color. The only problem is that after spending a minute or two watching your very attractive home page presentation, I can understand what osmosis is. It looks like it has something to do with website creation. I don’t know what is “tailspin design†is. I don’t understand what’s meant by “Email isn’t optimal.†I can see that I’m going to have to dig much farther into the site for that.
As I scroll down, I’m surprised that you chose to put the pricing information on the home page. That’s unusual. Since you offer a sign-up for free trial, I’d make sure you advertise that on your home page, but I’d move the rest of this pricing chart to a different pricing page. I can’t able to access Web Development Questionnaire.
2) Think of something you want to find on this website. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?
What I wanted to find was more information about the service you offer since it is clear from the home page. I clicked on your invitation to learn more about Osmosis about halfway down the home page. …Ok. Now I finally understand what Osmosis does! It appears to be a Website Development Project for each business. The various pages under “Osmosis†explain this very well in easy, digestible bites with accompanying screen shots, and I love that I can click on the screen shots to enlarge them. Honestly, this is all set up beautifully, and I’m impressed with the range of features you offer. No, nothing was confusing except not able to view the Web Development Questionnaire.Â
3) Are you encouraged to (create a new account, subscribe, sign up for a free trial, etc.)? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
If I needed an online web development service, I would definitely sign up for this. This is truly one of the most powerful, feature-rich services of its kind that I have come across. Your fee structure seems quite reasonable, although it’s a shame that certain features are only offered with the more expensive plans. That’s might not too helpful for small businesses that would like to use those features but have a dozen employees or less. Nevertheless, I can see that this would be a great investment for mid-size and larger businesses, and certainly the free accounts provide a lot.

I searched on “build design briefs.†The first result returned was a service called Web designer depot. I was surprised to see it since I really wasn’t aware that anything like this existed. Web Designer Depot home page presentation is very different than yours. It’s much briefer, and the look and feel is more strictly business, whereas yours is friendlier and more casual. You’ll notice that they have a tag line which instantly communicates what Web Designer Depot does. It’s “7 Basics to Create a Good Design Brief.â€Â
There’s no guesswork involved. Also, you’ll see that they don’t display their pricing chart on the home page. On the other hand, their home page seems very generic. I like that yours has “personality.†Web Designer Depot is another very feature-rich service. Trying to do a side-by-side comparison here, I think it offers all or most of what Osmosis does as well as some apps that Webdesinger Depot does not. For example, whereas Osmosis seems aimed at Website Design projects, whereas Web Designer Depot has apps for IT, accounting, and other departments. In addition, they seem more focused on Objectives and Goals than Osmosis does; they have an entire section under their home page devoted to Basic parts of a design brief. However, even though Web Designer Depot seems to provide a little more than Osmosis does, I prefer Osmosis method of presentation. Webdesigner Depot doesn’t include screen shots in its list of features except Objectives and Goals, and I really like that you do. The visual aid is helpful in understanding how Osmosis is organized. On the other hand, I like Webdesigner Depot’s “Categories†tab, which has a drop-down menu with 10 pages, each one aimed at a different company division to explain how Webdesigner Depot’s can assist in its particular role. I’m support Osmosis need pages of that sort at this point, but it’s something to think about for the future.

Osmosis looks like an excellent service, although after comparing it to Webdesigner Depot, they may have the price advantage. Right now, I think the most useful thing you could do would be to redesign your home page. It’s “pretty,†but I had to dig deeper into the site to understand what Osmosis is, whereas it was pretty obvious what Webdesigner Depot was as soon as I read the tagline. I like the home page slideshow concept, just not the execution since it doesn’t explain anything concrete. Your “Osmosis†Home page does a somewhat better job of this, but it’s not until the visitor reaches “Support†that everything becomes clear. My suggestion is that you revise the selling points in your slideshow to make them less vague. “Communicate each and every point in different sub-pages where your work is being done, stop point everything in your homepage†is just about meaningless. But “employee activity streams keep you in the know about progress on group projects†is much more informative. If you can condense the main features of Osmosis in one- or two-sentence selling points like this, I think your home page will be much more effective. Then just move the pricing hart where it belongs–under “Pricesâ€â€“and I think you’ll be good to go. Good luck!Â
1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
At first glance I thought the site was bright and clear with a simple logo, to be honest though not sure about the grey background, found it a little dreary. I thought the name ‘Osmosis’ maybe could have been larger to stand out. The yellow central logo ‘tailspin design’ seemed to detract my eye away from the company name.Â
2) Think of something you want to find on this website. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?Â
I wanted to see what the prices were for the questionnaires. I clicked on the link ‘pricing’ on the homepage and found the breakdown of each different package, starting from Freelancer up to the Team package. I found the information as to what you get for your money very clear and straightforward.
3)Â Â 3) Are you encouraged to (create a new account, subscribe, sign up for a free trial, etc.)? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
Yes I would join possibly, but perhaps give people a free trial of say one questionnaire, or 5 days access -Â some sort of incentive.
4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?  Â
I had a look at Fluidsurveys.com, a nice bright sight, at the bottom of their homepage they were advertising clients they had obviously worked with (good idea) and were also offering a free trial, plus 25% off yearly plans. If given the choice, I think the bargain hunter in me would most certainly try the free trail from Fluidsurveys.com rather than Osmosis.
5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
Osmosis looks very professional from the homepage but perhaps, as I said, offer an incentive (if there was one I didn’t see it). Plus I would change the homepage to have a bit more info about what clients Osmosis deals with and some examples like Fluidsurveys.

1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
I see that I can “Cut project start times in half with reusable and easy to build design briefs and questionnaires.” and I see that there is a free trial. Both of these things are attractive. I also notice that there is a chat facility, which is a big plus, in my opinion. In my past experiences, I have found live chat to be a very useful tool, and have noticed that those sites which have a live chat tend to be better-run and have better customer support than those without such a feature.
The home page is long, and requires a lot of scrolling to fully read, but I don’t think this is necessarily a drawback. All the important links and information are near the top. I’m not sure about the color scheme. It is unobtrusive, perhaps even a bit too unobtrusive. The light grey background could use some more color to set it off or make it more exciting somehow.
Â
2) Think of something you want to find on this website. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?
I want to find more details about the free trial, so I will click on the button labelled “Sign Up for a Free Trial.” I clicked on that link, and it brings me to a signup form. I don’t want to signup quite yet; I would like more details about the trial first, so I will click back to the home page and look for information there. Well, I have clicked around a bit, and I don’t see any more information about the free trial, so I could not find what I was looking for.
Â
3) Are you encouraged to (create a new account, subscribe, sign up for a free trial, etc.)? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
If I owned a company, I would be interested in this service, but would like to know all the details of the free trial first. Am I able to access all the functionality of the site with the free trial, or are some features unavailable? Oh, I have an idea, I will ask my question in the live chat and see what they say. I started chatting with Dominic in the live chat, who informed me that everything is available during the trial, except custom domain name. This is very good to know, and so I am encouraged to sign up for the trial.

4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
OK, I am going to go to Google and enter “client support web tools”. The first link brings me to Zendesk. Their website appears to have more “stuff” than Osmosis’ website, and there are multiple screenshots of the Zendesk solutions in action. Their page does have a similar neutral-toned background as Osmosis does, however Zendesk has a lot of colorful images displayed on top of it, making the page seem more interesting. Zendesk offers a 30-day trial, and seems to offer more features than Osmosis. Although many of their products are priced higher than Osmosis’ products, they do have a $9/month plan. I would be likely to take advantage of Zendesk’s 30-day free trial, if I were looking to purchase these products.

I think the home page could use a little bit of sprucing up. Perhaps the free trial could be extended a bit. I think Osmosis could benefit from having a few more images of their product in action, or perhaps a description or video showing the whole process from a client posing a question, to the issue being logged in the system, to resolution and any followup on that problem. In some of the images that are on Osmosis’ website, it is unclear what is happening. There is one image with a list of colors. It is unclear who is choosing these colors and for what purpose. I don’t know who is using that form, client or vendor or who.
Â
I had a few first impressions of the web site. I noticed the free trial option, which always keeps my interest. I was also intrigued by the part about email not being optimal. This really made me curious. It peaked my interest. The pricing information was readily available without even clicking on the price icon.Â
Â
I wanted to see the customer testimonials. I found them readily. However, I wished that there were more of them. I am someone who always needs to read every review on amazon. I didn’t think three was enough. It made me feel like this company is too new and not well enough established yet. Also, the pricing info was a bit unclear bis this a one time fee or a monthly fee?
Â
I was definitely encouraged to create an account. A free trial offer is always tempting. I wish a bit dissappointed when I clicked the tour button. I wanted more- I would have lived if there was even a five minute video.Â
I did a web search and found Vandeleg Design. They offer a similar service. When I compared the two, Vandeley seemed more affordable, but less user friendly. I think whether I was willing to spring for the difference would depend on the volume of my business. The free trial offer would make me likely to give your service a shot. Overall, it’s tough to say, because I’m still a bit unclear on your pricing.Â
Thanks for the opportunity to provide feedback on your site. It seems like an exciting business model with lots of potential. I did my best to provide some useful, constructive criticism.Â
