About PartyTell:

PartyTell is an entertainment source for events and parties going on throughout the USA. We offer promoters and event planners the option to list and promote their events for free through our website. We make it easy for local residents or visitors of a city to find out what is going on in that city. Users can find events by simply choosing a city and state, in which the name of event, name of venue where event is taking place, physical address, age limit, celebrity guests, and additional information is given. Links to postings on PartyTell are able to be shared through social networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as e-mail.

PartyTell does not send out unwanted, annoying messages. Users are able to go to our website, search areas they are interested in finding events in, and events and parties going on in that area will appear. They also have the option of following our state specific social networking pages (i.e. Twitter.com/Partytell_GA) which gives links to events going on in each area.

Not only can events be viewed on our website, but they can also be viewed through our Partytell iPhone/iPod app. As easy as it is to view events through our app, promoters and event planners can also list events through our Partytell PRO app.

  1. Visit https://www.Partytell.com. What do you think of the design?

When i first visit, i can easily get to know what your site is about which is posting and finding party. The design is simple and straight forward, which is good. People can directly search for party when they browse your site, it convenience for the members. I think the design still need to be improved if you want make your site more interesting and attract more members sign up. For the party searching area i suggest that you can create it in a box which the box look 3D or have some interesting design, e.g color lining.

    7. It is very easy to search and it’s convenience which i really like it. Only that the design look too simple which i dont have any impressive feeling toward your site.

Search for the state of California – city: All Cities. What do you think of the design of our event listings?

It’s simple and also look comfort. It look tidy and also easy to find out. The design is ok, but if you want make it more interesting and attractive you can change your background with some colorful image which is related to the party feelings.

If you were a promoter or event planner, would you list your event on Partytell? Why or why not?

Probably i will. Because i dont get a strong feeling to sign up for your site when i visit the site. Which mean the design is not attractive enough. I suggest that you can create a slide shows above your party search feature in your home page. In the slide show you can insert some introduction about your site. Which include how your site works, a step by step instructions. The slide shows doesnt have to be long just about 5slide will be enough. Also explain the feature that you have such as not only can search for party, also can search for promoter, musicians. This will make your site looks more interesting and also look more professional.

If there are any features you would add or change, what would it be?

I think you can add a party notification in the area member live. This could make them easily know when there is a party around their area. Also i suggest that you can add a free sign up icon at your home page. When people saw the free sign up they will eventually gt interest in continue browsing your site. I like that people can post comment on a party that people created. i think that you should ask for member to register for free first then choose their package. In this way you can keep in touch with your members even they dont use your site. you can mail some good feature that you newly added in your site for your members to know.

    Any additional feedback/comments?

The design of your site is simple which is good, but it’s not interesting enough. I suggest that you can change your site layout into a party related layout. E.g having a background picture which contain DJ playing music. In this way, when people visit your site they will have the party sense. Which is important. Make your site look professional in the service that you provide.

The design is ok. Nothing spectacular here. The website gets right to business with the Select a State form and the long list of states. Seems a bit redundant here why you allow the user to select the state, and then having all the states listed out. As far as usability and aesthetics is concerned, you should not have more than 9 items listed on a navigation menu.

Convenience = 10 – easy to use and find location, Visual = 2, not very appealing.

Search for the state of California – city: All Cities. What do you think of the design of our event listings?

Done. Events are listed, and event pics are there, but the visual is very basic. Nothing fancy here.

If you were a promoter or event planner, would you list your event on Partytell? Why or why not?

I would simply because of more exposure, but I would not rely on this site solely to get the word out. Would use Facebook or Twitter for that.

If there are any features you would add or change, what would it be?

Wish there was more to this site as far as graphics and visual. It seems kind of boring. I don’t think anyone would want to go to a “boring” party.

The three columns were nice. I thought that the right column was a little odd because there were a lot of people saying, “Post your parties/events at https://www.partytell.com…. Your party will be viewed on our website & iPhone/iPod app.” Some of the advertisements popped because they were in a different color. For instance, the Photo Linkage ad had a pink background. The colors on the rest of the page didn’t seem very exciting.

I clicked on the city and state closest to me and found no parties. It was pretty easy to use. I simply chose the state from the drop down menu followed by the city from another drop down menu. I’d give it a 9 because it was easy, but not a 10 because there weren’t any parties.

Search for the state of California – city: All Cities. What do you think of the design of our event listings?

I liked the design because the posters the event creator made were visible. They added color to the page and were very interesting to look at. I also liked how all the details about the party were visible- I’d be hard pressed to miss the venue, the date, and the city of the party. I clicked on the Cinco De Mayo link and viewed more specific details. I think this is great that you didn’t choose to have the specific details about the party on the main page because I like seeing the long list of parties. Then, I when I chose a party that I was interested in, everything else I wanted to know became available.

If you were a promoter or event planner, would you list your event on Partytell? Why or why not?

To answer this question, I went to the Post Party part of the site. It appears to be pretty straight forward. You even put the level I’m using to fill out the form and the option to upgrade at the top. This was important because I wasn’t sure, until this time, how much it would cost to promote my event. I clicked to change my package and saw that there were three levels, two of which were free. Now, if I was in a hurry to promote my event, I would like to have a ball park figure as to how much it would cost to get the Golden Package. However, I suppose that if I wanted my event done well, careful planning would be in order and waiting to get the quote would be worth it. I also think it would be good on your contact for to give some sort of estimation as to how many business days it takes for you to get back to me.

So, in a nut shell, I’d say yes, I would promote here. It’s pretty easy to get started.

If there are any features you would add or change, what would it be?

As I said above, as a paying customer for the Gold Package, I’d like more information about how much it costs for the package- not exact, but ball park. I also would like to know how long it takes under normal circumstances to get back to me and start discussing the specifics of my Gold package and how long it takes to have my fliers and other perks ready since some people don’t like to waste time with new companies that they’ve never heard about.

I might change the colors to reflect the “Party/Event Theme” so that it would appear more exciting. It seems a little boring.

    Any additional feedback/comments?

I like what you have to offer, especially since it is free and that an event would be posted on social media sites and your site for free, if I wanted it to be. Good luck! Looks like something people will use!

  4. Visit https://www.Partytell.com. What do you think of the design?
I find your website to be unorganized and unprofessional. Let’s start at the top of the page. You have a small little strip of text that tells what your site is about but its highly unnoticeable and it overlaps the word directory. There is a great lack of color and the placing of ads are very distracting. The ads are so much more bold that they grab my attention more than the your information in and of itself. The ads should either be made smaller or placed at the bottom of the page.  At the top of the page you have party tell in all lower case then you have it with the P and the T capitalized. As you move down the page you mention the gold and silver package but you make no mention of the anywhere else on the page. I can only assume that is under the  pricing page. It seems that it would be more organized to have that information placed on it’s own page with from a tab placed at the top of the page. For this is to be a club website nothing about it seems exciting or fun.

Rate the convenience of our event search on a scale of 1-10.
I would have to rate it a 8. The drop down boxes were easy to use but the scrolling can be a little mundane for some. It would have also been nice to possibly enter a zip code for quick search information.
Search for the state of California – city: All Cities. What do you think of the design of our event listings?
I thought the layout was simple, plain and needs more color. I like that you provide basic information and that when clicked on I get more information. I like that you have space for a club to add a picture but it’s really hard to see on the first page. I also like that you allow for additional information but I feel there needs to a limit to how much information you can list. Visually I think it’s more pleasing and that most people probably dont’ want to know that much about a clubs history.

If you were a promoter or event planner, would you list your event on Partytell? Why or why not?
I would be a little hesitant to sign up on your site because it doesn’t seem to be lively and happening. On the other had being that I could advertise for free on you twitter and facebook page what would someone have to lose by doing so.
If there are any features you would add or change, what would it be?
It would be nice to see a special promotin section if a club was having a special event.
    Any additional feedback/comments?
As I stated before I see that you mentioned the silver and gold package on your homepage but when I clicked on the pricing page I see that you have a bronze package. Of course there needs to be consistency about your webstie offers. I think that you should change the pricing to packages to be consitent with the rest of the language on you site. I must say that I don’t understand why you even offer the bronze package. I can’t see why anyone would pick the bronze over the silver especially that  both are free.  You also have overlapping issues with this page over the word directory. On the gold package you have that the price depends on the number of flyers but I don’t see why you can set a price range. Ex. 1-25 $10.99 26-75 $15.99. I would think that the price would weigh more towards the design and not necessarily the quantity. I think that you need to empahsize that you can desgn the ship flyers. I’m sorry to say but from the looks of your site people might want to turn else where for their designing needs.  I would have like to see some the key information at the bottom of your page listed at the top such as: about us, contact, advertise and submit club. If you want to sell to people I find it crucial that you have more than an email box for people to contact you. I don’t understand you have the club tab at the top of the page being that it’s the same information that is listed on the homepage. I also think that you need to add hours of operation to the club information area.

  5. # What do you think of the design?

I guess its pretty straight forward about what its for.  But this is suppose to be a party website, all about finding parties in your area.  Instead of making it look like an online directory the minute someone goes to it, how about giving a little of the wow factor.  Make it look like this is a party place.  Yes, its pretty obvious what the website is all about, and for that I give you credit, however, graphics can also sell a website, and grab people in so a little more punching up of the homepage wouldn’t hurt.

Rate the convenience of our event search on a scale of 1-10.

I will give you a 10 for service, however for design more like a 5.  Remember to get people to use your service the design of your website can factor in.  Simple is good, but not too simple.

Search for the state of California – city: All Cities. What do you think of the design of our event listings?

Was there a design, it pretty much looked like the homepage, with the exception of the listing of events.  Which I have to admit was pretty nice, I like the way the event was named, the place, the day and the time were all there.

If you were a promoter or event planner, would you list your event on Partytell? Why or why not?

I might consider it because I do like the way you list the event. It’s pretty simple and straight forward to where a person wouldn’t have many questions about where the event was being held or the time.  However, I would be concerned about the fact that the website comes across very generic and it might not be something that would attract people to go to it to find the party listing.

If there are any features you would add or change, what would it be?

I think by now its pretty obvious that I would change the home page.  Give it more graphics, more fun, more of a look of a party website.  It’s not a bad idea to have it be known that this is a directory of party events, but lets make it feel like this is what its for.  Party’s are suppose to be fun, so make your homepage fun to go with the them.

    Any additional feedback/comments?

I think you have a good product, and that your listings are very well done, as well as simple to understand.  I just think that the website was created a bit too generic for what its main theme is suppose to be.
Also list the three different package on the homepage, people need to know that there is also a bronze package that is cheaper to buy, you could also consider maybe the free trial as well.

  6. What do you think of the design?
The design is very simple and direct, encouraging users to jump right in. However, I’m not loving the three-column layout with ads in one column and what looks like ads at first glance in the other. (Yes, I know you actually don’t have ads in the right column, but I initially dismissed that column as just more ads, so that should tell you something.) As a general rule, you shouldn’t put ads on your home page anyway. Also, the site seems very plain for a site about partying! I would expect a flashier background showing smiling people at a club or something like that. Right now, the site just doesn’t seem fun, and fun is what you want to convey at a site about parties and clubs. I also have to say that because of the prominent ads and lack of embellishment, the site currently makes me think of some kind of spam site, which isn’t good. Since your main goal is to be a directory, I would keep the search boxes on the home page, but get rid of the three-column design with ads and put up an eye-catching background that suggests clubbing and partying.

I tried searching for both parties and clubs, and I searched on both a small town in my state and a large city. I got no results for the small town in either category. For the large city, one party turned up but no clubs. Your site must not be anywhere close to ready yet because I know that the large city certainly has plenty of clubs. I clicked on the one party you listed for this city, but I can’t say anything about the listing appealed to me. There were no details about the party, no pictures of the venue, no discounts or coupons, really nothing enticing.

If you’re asking me how easy it is to conduct a search, well, it’s very easy–8/10. (I’m taking away two points because your back button didn’t take me all the way back to the main search page, only to the most recent results, and I ended up having to backarrow my way through.) But if you’re asking me how good the results are right now–1/10. If you can’t find a decent listing of clubs and parties in New York, where else are you going to find them?

Search for the state of California – city: All Cities. What do you think of the design of our event listings?
First of all, the images associated with the event listings took awhile to load. Second, what I don’t like about these listings is that you don’t show which city each event is taking place in until I click on the specific event. If I do a search for “All Cities,” I want to be able to skim the page and see right away which events are taking place in cities near me. I don’t want to have to click on each one to find out. Third, these listings provide more detail, which the listings in the New York category lacked, but I’d still like to see some pictures of the venue and such. I’ve been to sites like this before, and many of them have photos of the venue, a link to the club’s web site, and special discounts.

If you were a promoter or event planner, would you list your event on Partytell? Why or why not?
It would depend on how much you’re charging. I see from your pricing page that you haven’t decided how much to charge yet. If I had to pay anything, I wouldn’t list right now because I think the site doesn’t look that professional, and I doubt you’re getting a lot of traffic yet. Certainly I would want to know how much traffic you do get if I was going to pay for this.

If there are any features you would add or change, what would it be?
I already gave you some comments about the home page. Another thing I’d add would be that if your target market here is promoters and event planners, then you need to sell to them. Right now, you only have a tiny invitation to submit a party all the way at the bottom of the home page. There’s a slightly more prominent, highlighted invitation for promoters, DJs, and so on to get listed in your directory, but it’s also in small print and not all that obvious. When you redesign your home page, I’d include big, bold print above the fold that says, “Promoters, event planners, and DJs–Get listed FREE in our directory! List your event. List your services.” Something like that.

I’d also suggest changing the order of your tabs from left to right, and this applies to all pages. Tabs should be “Home,” “Party/Club Search” (or “Party/Club Directory”), “Party Professional Search” (or “Party Professional Directory”), “Submit Listing,” and “Pricing.” The “Submit Listing” page should allow visitors to submit a listing either for an event or for their own services. Also, if you’re going to be charging for this, you’ll need a contact page and probably an about page to help inspire confidence and trust in your organization. Oh, wait–I see that you do have those pages. They’re at the very bottom of your home page, so I almost missed them.

As I said before, the listings themselves need to be more colorful. They need to include photos, links to the venue and possibly to bands playing there, maybe reviews of the venue or the last event held there, stuff like that. And certainly you need to make event locations visible from the main results page of an “All Cities” search, as I said already. It would also be great if you could provide some coupons, discounts, or even just a way to RSVP for these events and get on the guest list through your site.

I have to say that your party/club directory is nothing new. I’ve seen lots of sites like this, many of them “prettier” to look at. What is new, I think, is the professional directory of party planners, DJs, and the like. Honestly, I think this directory fills a needed niche much more than your event directory, and I wonder if you might consider redesigning the site’s main focus to be on this professional directory. This is the first time I’ve seen a site that would allow me to search for a party planner, DJ, or professional musician in my area, and this could really help people who are planning weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, bar mitzvahs, and so on. You should really give professionals in your directory the opportunity to include links to their sites, though. Before I even contact a professional, I generally want to see their web site and samples first.

    Any additional feedback/comments?
I think I’ve said it all!

  7. What do you think of the design?
I think the design of this website is too simple and plain. In other words, its a bit boring and hum drum. I was expecting more glitz on the website, instead I see an all white background with simple font type with too many ads on both side of the page. It needs more of a party flare to the site. The background should have some sort of party atmosphere so it will attract more audiences and make them want to post their party events on the site. I feel it may need a splash page animation and have an enter button to go directly into the search engine of the party events for different locations. Once they click on the location, then the ad would be more useful for the next page hopefully pertaining for that specific area of business. Like I said, the site is too dull and needs a little more of a “wow” factor on the page and more lively “party” feel.

Rate the convenience of our event search on a scale of 1-10.
I would have to give this site a rating of 6. When I searched California for the listing of parties, I was a bit lost. First, all the events were not alphabetized. Second, if I was to visit California, I would like to see where and how I would be able to get to the event.
The description of the party event was so scrunched together and it gave me a headache trying to read what it was all about.  The one thing I did like about the listing of all the events is they had the original poster shown, however I have to say the event information is lacking organizational attributes.

Search for the state of California – city: All Cities. What do you think of the design of our event listings?
Like I said about the California party search , it can be better. I wouldn’t want to sit there and try to figure out where exactly the event is located.

If you were a promoter or event planner, would you list your event on Partytell? Why or why not?
Not at this time. I don’t feel it is getting a lot of positive feedback and I would feel people would have a hard time finding my party event.  Once they upgrade the event information and possibly add a “google map locator” on the site itself then possibly I may plan an event and advertise it with Partytell.  Until then they need to organize the event information box and add map app or locator on there.

If there are any features you would add or change, what would it be?
Yes, they need to add some kind of find map request or how to direction to get to these events. They also need to work on the event information box. They don’t need to scrunch all those information in that tiny box. I am sure they can make it look more pleasant to the eye and not give someone like me a headache where i have to go reach for my glasses and try to make sense of what will be going on. I also suggested in creating a “party” feel splash page before entering the site. Usually when one is throwing a party, you normally hear music or see lots of people before entering into the actual event. True??

    Any additional feedback/comments?
I will  have to return to the website again to see if they have made any changes to improve their site. Until then not at this time.

  8. Visit https://www.Partytell.com. What do you think of the design? From my first look, it does not seem to be too professional looking.  I immediately do not like the gray box with the gray font.  It looks very cheap to me for some reason.   I would like to see everything made a little more bold and bright.  Otherwise, the website appears to be set up in an easy format.   The website doesn’t really say “PARTY” to me.

Rate the convenience of our event search on a scale of 1-10. With 1 being hard and 10 being easy, I would find it to be about a 9.

Search for the state of California – city: All Cities. What do you think of the design of our event listings? The design appears to be very easy to read.  The colors are bright, enticing and bold.  Your pictures, however, are loading very slowly and are very out of focus on my end.

If you were a promoter or event planner, would you list your event on Partytell? Why or why not? Yes, I definitely would list my event if the pictures were adjusted- maybe the pixels, size, etc.

If there are any features you would add or change, what would it be? Like I stated above, I would definitely choose a different color for the fonts, maybe a black and maybe enlarge the fonts to bring everything into a little more bold, eye catching focus.   I would also definitely enlarge the Title and too, brighten it up.   Overall, the website is good, but could be better.  I would like to see it look a little more professional.

Any additional feedback/comments? The few lines of instructions you have at the bottom of your landing page should be brought up to the top so that everyone immediately knows how to use the site and what it’s about.  I would definitely enlarge the fonts on that page.

Upon further going through your website,  on the Terms of Use page, I would definitely enlarge your fonts and make the page a little longer looking.

Overall, I would go through the website and “professionalize” it up a little bit.  It really doesn’t look to professional and to me, that makes me hesitate to list or buy.

  9. * Visit https://www.Partytell.com. What do you think of the design?
The design is a bit dull. The blocks on the left don’t help much. On the contrary, they work against the design. The black square of the iPhone application looks too strong, and the Photo Linkage ad, with its soft pink background, kills it in my opinion.
The blue submit Club link doesn’t match really and it doesn’t stand out enough.

    It lacks the wow factor.

On the positive note, it is easy to use and very clean and elegant and the contrast is high.

    * Rate the convenience of our event search on a scale of 1-10.

I would give it a 10. It is very simple, easy to use and perfect to use. Right now I can’t think of anything that I would change. Its simplicity makes it perfect. It could have a link to an advanced search feature though.

    * Search for the state of California – city: All Cities. What do you think of the design of our event listings?

Nice to look at and simple yet I would probably need a bit of more info right there such as the exact location of the venue. I know that it is challenging design-wise because too much information will make the page look too crowded but I think the location is something important.

    * If you were a promoter or event planner, would you list your event on Partytell? Why or why not?
That’s a tough question. I’d probably would but then again, I miss some more info. Apart from listing it… What else can I do? Can I promote it? Can I get messages from people interested in my event?

    * If there are any features you would add or change, what would it be?

Eventually, I would need to search for an event on a particular frame of time, something you can’t do now. Therefore, an advance search feature could be nice. You could also add a sing up page to personalize the service, so I could have a calendar to bookmark any event that may be of interest for me, and of course the essential social buttons so I can tell all my friends in facebook, twitter, etc, about the event that looked so promising, etc.

    * Any additional feedback/comments?
Right now it looks a very simple and straight forward service but it does have a lot of potential to present additional services such as ticket sales and discounts for different venues and other forms of promotion.
Also, it is very easy to miss the links to sign up and list parties.

Rate the convenience of our event search on a scale of 1-10.

Rate the convenience of our event search on a scale of 1-10.

  12. Visit https://www.Partytell.com. What do you think of the design?
It is simple and clear–too simple for a party website, sort of boring and not attractive enough.
Partying is for fun, I think it’s better to redesign it so that users will experience the fun and eagerness of a party.
Simple design like this doesn’t attract me.
Rate the convenience of our event search on a scale of 1-10.
I assume the event search you mentioned means parties searching. I found that I can find parties based on my location easily, by the section “Find parties going on in your area”, so I’ll rate 10.
Search for the state of California – city: All Cities. What do you think of the design of our event listings?
The images are too small, I hope you can either make it bigger or allows us to see the full screen of poster image without clicking into the detail of the parties. Also I think it’d be useful to search parties by date and prices, apart from the search by location only, that way I can see which one I can join regarding on my budget and schedule. Sorting the events by date, time and prices are necessary in displaying the list generated from the search.
If you were a promoter or event planner, would you list your event on Partytell? Why or why not?
No, I’m not attracted to it.
If there are any features you would add or change, what would it be?
Need to work on the layout. Use a modern and more attractive one. Hire a graphic designer or web designer. The color, fonts, spacing, all of them have to be reconstructed.
For example in the party detail page, “Venue: MyHouse HollywoodDate: 04/15/2011”, “Venue: Some place” doesn’t feel tidy and readable, you can use some tables to separate the fields and labels, use larger fonts and create different visual appearance on the fields and labels, so everyone can see it clearly, for example the fields are bolded or larger or different color while the fields are not.

The very important element, price is missing, other missing element of the party table in the database are website of the party(in case those big ones have), number of people joined in, maximum number of people available, number of drinks / service available. I think number of people participated and maximum number available are important because I might want to join a party which gets me to meet more people, right? You can then put the number of people joined on the sorting page where I can search which one is the most popular and has vacancies so I can book one of them too.
Another issue I found on the detail page of parties is that there is a comment box. What I guess is that users can post comments BEFORE they go to that party? And upload a photo of the party. But aren’t we’re searching for upcoming parties? If yes then besides saying “I’ll go” or “I won’t go” are there much to tell? Or I can post my hot picture and tell others that I’ll be going then that would make dozens of people following me to this party in order to meet me? Is that what it is here for? I’m uncertain, just make sure what you’re adding on make sense 😉

    Any additional feedback/comments?
Whole layout has to be reconstructed.
I’m sure that some parties aren’t allowed for some type of people, for example under a certain age? If then I think it’s necessary to mark those adult events. Then that makes me think is this site suitable for underage teenagers? If so are there some kind of verification have to be made before the actual use of the website?
I tried out to add a party. I think more verification has to be added to ensure useful party information, for example, why am I allowed to post a party which happened last year? The added party has to be approved by the administrator. I think the server backend or client side could help the him to do the job much easier by filtering which information provided doesn’t make sense. This is very important when the site gets larger, you don’t want to hire someone for 10 hours sitting there to approve parties. You know the application more than I do, these are some of the problems I think don’t make sense, but it may be the way you want it to be when designing how to use the website.
The Directory is quite useful and I think it’s a good idea. If we want to hold a party we can search one nearby and contact them—- only if we learn more about them, so maybe a page of their individual profile when I click on one of them?
I think most of the essential elements of partying are found in partytell, but they have to be redesigned and relocated for the better terms of use. What I mean redesign not simply means the layout graphics and css of each page, but also what to put on the menu bar and where to locate the linkage, eg I don’t think the PRICING should be aligned on the menu bar, and for the CLUBS tag it is just a table copied from the HOME page, then is the CLUB page necessary? Redundancy creates confusion and tires users. What should be listed on the index page is not founded, but something I’m not interested in — the followers you have per state are there, I really don’t think you should put this on the index page, instead, people visiting your website would like to know what upcoming interesting parties are there, you can stick some upcoming featured parties from the big states, it would be much more interesting than letting me check how many fans you have in my state.
I also find it awkward for us to tell the application over and over again our city of state. You can track user’s IP and ask them for their location of interest once they hit your page, then all the settings would be based on the user’s state of interest, just like other sites where they can choose the countries or change them whenever they like. It will make the website much more user-friendly.
In fact for this kind of web application it’s best to be coded as a facebook app. Connections are all in facebook and for those who parties, facebook; also they tends to follow what their friends do. It’s easier to advertise and ask others to use this service because many elements already exist. You can also create a facebook application and hopefully draw users from facebook to your website.

  13. Visit https://www.Partytell.com. What do you think of the design?
First thing that I noticed, is that you got too many ads… Both on the left and right side.
You should put all of the ads in one place not everywhere.

Secondly, I would say that you did not introduce your website properly. I can see the “Find parties going on in your area” and the “Find clubs and hotspots!” but what about a more general slogan ? You should put it on top just beside your logo. The slogan “Find a party. List a party” that you put in the title page is perfect for this. It is catchy and immediately tells me what your website is about. Put it into your website main page.

I think that the “Contact Us” link should be on top, as well as “About Us” and “Faq”, those links are important to show that you are not hiding anything.

Now about colour scheme, I don’t really like your use of light grey. I find it boring and unattractive. You might want to change it for a brighter colour, even a darker grey would be better. Your logo has red in it but I can’t find the red anywhere on your main page? You should stick to the colour scheme that you chose, your website should reflect your logo, so put in a  bit of red!

    7. Because it takes time for the “Choose a city” to update when I chose a different state. A better option would be to include a list of checklists at the bottom of “Choose state”, in this way the user can select multiple areas as well.

Search for the state of California – city: All Cities. What do you think of the design of our event listings?
It is pretty basic and easy to understand. But what if a state has 500 events? And some start at 3 while others at 9 and I want to look for the ones starting at 4? You should add this option in the research tool. Maybe include it in a filter would be best actually.
You might want to include more information if possible, for example, the cost of entry or if it is free.

If you were a promoter or event planner, would you list your event on Partytell? Why or why not?
Yes I would, if I am an event planner I want as many people as possible. And what is the risk of using your website? There is absolutely no risk so why not?

If there are any features you would add or change, what would it be?
As said earlier, a filter for the time.
    Display the cost of entry.
    Any requirements? Such as dresscodes.
Enabling the selection of multiple cities at one time for search.

    Any additional feedback/comments?

Why does the “golden package” has a ? in the costing?
Couldn’t you put parties into a “hotspot” selection?

  14. Visit https://www.Partytell.com. What do you think of the design?

I think the design could be improved a lot. At present it’s not enticing and it’s very plain, bland looking. This doesn’t excite me at all or make me want to party.

The logo doesn’t stand out at all or sell the brand/service, it lacks originality.
There is way too much grey and not enough color.
The navigation bar is too plain and simple.
There is no introduction as to what this service/site is all about, you are just thrown straight in. It would be nice to have a short sentence under the logo like “PartyTell, your entertainment source for events and parties happening throughout America”.

8, it is convenient and easy to use. There is no need to sign up which I think is great and makes this site more convenient than similar sites that require a sign up/sign in process. However I think it could be improved. I think it would be good to add a date field, which would be an optional field you could fill out. Because often I travel to another city and would like to know if anythings happening around a specific date. I wouldn’t want to scroll through a list of events to have to find one that falls on a specific date or month.

Search for the state of California – city: All Cities. What do you think of the design of our event listings?

I think it’s to simple, boring and plain. Again not enough color. The information fields like Venue, Date, Time could be in a larger text or stand out more. I also think you could add another field called Event Type or Genre. Because I have no idea what the event actually is until I click on the event to take me to a more detailed page. I would like to immediately know if it’s something I would be interested in before I waste time going to another page. Something short and simple like Rave, Dance Party, Band, Live Music, Hip Hop etc.

I also think you can make improvements on the actual event page. To start with the posters/flyers aren’t big enough to be able to read all the writing and see all the details. The images need to be much larger in the pop up window.

The “Description” of some of the events is very hard to read and follow. Also a lot of them have a contact email so why not make this another field “Contact” instead of it mixed in with the description.

If you were a promoter or event planner, would you list your event on Partytell? Why or why not?

I probably would because it’s free to list an event.  Free promotion is hard to come by, so that is one positive thing going for this site. Although I think a lot more event planners or promoters would feel more comfortable listing an event if the site looked and felt more professional.

If there are any features you would add or change, what would it be?

    Color Scheme.
Party notifications, I think it would be cool to be able to be notified when there is a new party in the users area via email or sms. This could be something optional that users who wanted to could sign up for.
Add an optional date field into the search.

    Any additional feedback/comments?

I had a quick search on the internet to look at other related sites and I found one which I think you could attain some ideas from for the home page. Now before you visit this site bare in mind this is for male (gay) parties. I don’t particularly like the events actual pages as they are plain and lack information but I do like the home page. As you can see from the home page it’s exciting and immediately tells you what the site is all about. There is still advertising but I think it is displayed in a much nicer more professional manner. Just having a nice bright color and some pictures really brightens up the page and makes it enticing. https://www.circuitpartyguide.com/

  15. What do you think of the design?

I believe the design overall is okay, but almost overcrowded so everything is very small.  Perhaps you could do a little bit of difference in some of the design to give more room on the first page in larger type to attract the viewer.  Also, it is a bit boring and I think the partytell logo should be a little larger and more party, party, party looking.

Search for the state of California – city: All Cities. What do you think of the design of our event listings?

I liked the design.  However, I feel that each even listing should tell what city it is located in.  Only a couple on the first page did so.  I would not want to live in a large state like California and have to click on every even just to see where it is located.
If you were a promoter or event planner, would you list your event on Partytell? Why or why not?

Since I know what you do, yes I would list my event as long as you made a few changes like what I just mentioned in the Calfornia-all cities.  I realize many people may just want to look in the city where they live but they may enjoy grazing through the all cities and being able to quickly see events that are not too far away so some promotors may not even be looked at. For me to list an even I would definitely want this change.
If there are any features you would add or change, what would it be?

I think what I have already mentioned would be what I would change
    Any additional feedback/comments?

Just a little more catchier first page on your website and perhaps remove some unneeded info and enlarge some of the other.  Hurt my eyes.  But I really think you have a hit on your hands with a little more refinement.  I have not seen anything quite like this before and I feel it could be very very useful to many people.  Good luck!!
