Visit PolishHardwoodFloors.com. What is your initial impression of the site?

My initial impression is that your brand could use a Logo. Something with color that really identifies who you are. It feels like you lack brand identity.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?

The picture slideshow has good pictures but it is kind of distracting. I wish you made this slideshow with a clickable option to manually scroll through the pictures if we wish to. But I didn’t think the picture of the guys with the masks on buffing or sanding the floor should be in this slideshow. The finished products pictures are more appropriate. The pics of the guys working don’t have the best lighting and look like the resolution is not as good.
What type of services do we provide?

You install, and supply hardwood flooring services.
Based on the information available on the site, if you were looking for hardwood floors, would you hire us? Why?

Yes. The finished product photos really impress me. The only issue is I have no clue what you charge and assume you want to talk to the person on the phone, and 1 on 1 before you quote. If money was not an issue, then yes, I would consider your services.
Please comment on the various elements of the site, including, background color, images, fonts etc.

Your site is very black-and-white. On the Contact Us page, I don’t like the dark red font underneath the showroom address. Use a brighter red font.
On the homepage, I like the testimonials. However, paragraphs are rarely read in its entirety. You don’t need the “Welcome!” on your homepage. Now instead of a paragraph, pick out the words that emphasize or sell your brand and use them because people do not see them within chunks of text. For example pull out “exceptional craftsmanship”, “competitive prices” and “fast project execution”. If you want to talk about your history, then put that on an About Us page.
Visit the Blog. Is the text easy to read? Any other comments?

Yes, easy to read. I like all of the content you provide.
Please share any additional feedback you may have.

Already addressed above.
I think you should brainstorm about creating a company logo or mascot for your brand identity.
For example, you are in the hardwood floor business. I can picture a woodpecker, like Woody the Woodpecker as a mascot for your business.
What is your initial impression of the site?
My initial impression of your site was that I liked your home page slideshow. It does a nice job of showing off your floors.
Â
However, I also noticed right away that you’ve chosen a black background. I’m not all that fond of black backgrounds because I think they give off a “heavy” feeling that’s not suitable for most topics. But if you really want to use black, you should at least make sure all your text is bright white so that it’s readable. As it is now, you have some scrolling text in gray, and it’s very hard to see against the black background.
Â
The next thing I noticed was that you have a glaring error in your first paragraph of copy. The third sentence starts, “We pride in what take we’re doing…” Obviously, you mean to say, “We take pride in what we’re doing…” Errors like that can make a site look unprofessional.
Â
Finally, I noticed that the scrolling gray text is all testimonials. While it’s okay to have some testimonials on the home page, I felt like there was a lack of basic selling points. For instance, I would’ve liked to see a few bulleted points that really sell your company, something like:
Â
–Polish master craftsmen in business for ____ years
–Only the finest (whatever kind of wood you use) from (wherever you get it)
–Original custom designs–if you can dream it up, we can do it
–Painstaking restorations that preserve authenticity
Â
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
What do I find bothersome? The gray text on the black background. The small grammatical errors throughout the site. The fact that there’s very little actual copy on your site, which means that I don’t learn much about your company. The music playing on various pages (I don’t really like music that loads automatically). The kind of odd scrolling feature on some of the gallery pages, which I’ll talk about more below.
Â
What do I like? The slideshow on the home page. The beautiful and extensive galleries of images throughout the site. The blog, which seems useful.
What type of services do we provide?
That’s easy. Hardwood floors! 🙂 You offer custom designs and restoration as well as standard installations. You serve both private and commercial customers.
Â
Based on the information available on the site, if you were looking for hardwood floors, would you hire us? Why?
I would certainly contact you for a quote and more information about your company. Your work looks beautiful. Whether or not I would hire you would depend on your pricing and how I felt about your company after further contact.
Â
Please comment on the various elements of the site, including, background color, images, fonts etc.
I think I’ve already said quite a bit about the home page. The slideshow is lovely. The copy is okay with the exception of a few small English language errors and the gray text, which is hard to read on a black background. However, I’d love to see you add a few basic selling points to differentiate your company from your competitors. Another minor point: I think you should reorganize your navbar so that About and Blog appear closer to the end of the bar, probably between Commercial and Contact Us. Eyes read from left to right, and the About page and Blog page are probably some of the last pages visitors will want to read. They’ll probably want to go directly to your image galleries in Hardwood Floors, Custom Design, and Restoration, so let those pages be first.
Â
Speaking of image galleries, you have an amazing portfolio! I love how you present it in Hardwoord Floors, Custom Design, and Restoration. I particularly like how the customer’s address and materials used pop up when I roll over the images in Hardwood Floors. However, I do have a few suggestions for these three galleries. First of all, I would love it if the photos automatically enlarged when I roll over them. As it is now, I have to click on each one individually. It’s not that big a deal, but it would be even more convenient if the images could expand automatically. Second, I really don’t like how the gallery scrolls when I use the arrows on either side. Instead of scrolling smoothly, the images sort of swing and jump into place. I find that really disorienting and hard on the eyes! Third, I don’t really love sites with music. I just find it a little annoying to have to listen to music over and over as I click through the site. A good rule of thumb is that unless your site sells music, you don’t need any music playing. 🙂
Â
Your Commercial page is set up a little differently than the other image galleries. I like that each series of images is accompanied by some brief copy to give some facts about the space and what was done with it. I wish that that other galleries had some more copy of this nature, too.
Â
Your contact form looks fine. No problems there.
Â
Your About page really helps to personalize your site and give more insight into your company since there’s so little information about it throughout the rest of the site. However, I just want to caution you that there are some little grammatical errors here and there on the page. This is the case throughout the site, actually. What I see most commonly is that you leave out articles like “the” and “a.” It’s a minor issue, but it occurs regularly, so just make sure you have a native English speaker review these pages and make corrections.
Â
I’ll cover the blog below.
Â
Visit the Blog. Is the text easy to read? Any other comments?
Yes, the text is easy to read. I still don’t necessarily love black backgrounds, but I can certainly read the bright white and bright blue text. I like that your blog is integrated into your site rather than hosted somewhere else like Blogger or WordPress, and the blog articles themselves look really informative and helpful. Once again, though, I just want to remind you to have a native English speaker review these articles before you post them. There are some small English language errors and awkward constructions that probably only a native speaker would catch. Your blog is totally understandable, but it will look that much more polished if you clean up the small errors.
Â
Please share any additional feedback you may have.
Your site is very visual, and that makes sense since you’re artisans. You have an extensive portfolio, and the photos are gorgeous.
Â
However, I come away from the site feeling like I don’t know that much about your company. The About page gives some insight, but it doesn’t feel like enough. For instance, on the About page you mention that you offer a warranty on your products. I’d love to know more about that. You also mention that each project is personally overseen by Greg Heichel. That’s great, but I’d like to know a little more about him, too. What are his credentials? Who did he study with? What about his team of workers? Are they certified craftsman also? How about your materials? Where does your wood come from? And I see you offer custom designs. Will you be open to my ideas if I have my own design in mind? I just feel like I can easily see your work, but I don’t know that much about the company behind it. I think adding a little more copy throughout your site could work wonders in this regard. For example, I’d love to see a page called “Why Polish Hardwood Floors?” or something similar that would really play up the ways in which you stand out from your competitors and sell your company to me. Tell me what’s special about your company. Is it a long tradition of Polish craftsmanship that emphasizes care and detail in a way we don’t in the States? It is your dedication to customer satisfaction (with accompanying warranty)? Is it the quality of material you use? Tell me about it. 🙂
Â
In conclusion, I think your lovely photos would convince me to call you for a quote in and of themselves, but I’d feel even better about your company if I felt like I knew more about you and your work philosophy before I even pick up the phone.
Â
Visit PolishHardwoodFloors.com. What is your initial impression of the site?
I think the site looks professional and but it needs a bit of color.

What do you find bothersome? What do you like?

I can’t say bothersome exactly but having the floor flashing so close to the text was a bit distracting. Also I think the letters of reference are a nice touch but the grey lettering makes them harder to read. The speed at which they move does not seem constant and I don’t see a way to manually make them go slower or faster. I really like the check out our references likes on the bottom of the home page. It shows real confidence. The blue button/link on the bottom of the picture pages is nice but instead of having little bumps it needs arrows. It currently looks like you should click on it. I actually had to figure out I was suppose to move it right. The music is nice but I think it needs to be changed up so it doesn’t get on peoples nerves. One thing I don’t see is a reference to any professional organizations you belong may belong to. I also don’t know if you hire subcontractors and how the long it takes to put down hard wood floors and can I get your company to install pergo if that’s what I want. All these questions and the answers so go on FAQ page.
What type of services do we provide?
You provide hardwood floor installation to both residential and commercial customers. You also offer hardwood floor customization and restoration services.
Based on the information available on the site, if you were looking for hardwood floors, would you hire us? Why?
Yes, your references seem impecable and I like all the pictures although some of them appear a bit dark. The pictures of your work are quiet impressive. Those alone would make me want to talk to you.
Please comment on the various elements of the site, including, background color, images, fonts etc.
The font is basic but I it is fine. The blue button/link idea mentioned earlier. Some of the pictures are very distorted when enlarged. I really like the way the pictures kinda swirl around when use the blue/button link. I like the black and white but just a bit more color besides the blue button and grey lettering would be good. Do you have a logo that you use one letter head? If so I think the logo should be here some where. It offers consumers constancy. The red on the contacts use is very muted. You moving to a new location. How exciting. So why is it not just as exciting on the page?

Visit the Blog. Is the text easy to read? Any other comments?
The blog is easy to read and I found some useful idea’s there however I think there needs to be a link to more info. Different types of woods are briefly mentioned and explained but I think there are many others. It could also just say something like consult a professional to find out what would work best for you. A video showing how to get rid of a scratch would be very useful and appreciated. More blue equals more eye catching.

NY has residents from all over the world so why are English and Polish the only languages? I believe I have addressed everything else earlier.

Visit PolishHardwoodFloors.com. What is your initial impression of the site?
My first impression of the website is, it looks very professional and clean. I can pretty easily find contact information, the blog and information about restoration and installation of hardwood floors. It appears there are reviews from previous clients, and the homepage seems to include links to reviews on third party websites.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
I like the large white font on the black background, it’s easy to read and see. I like the site can be read in either english or polish to make it easier on some potential visitors to the site. I did find it bothersome that there isn’t much information on restoration of floors besides the photos that cover the page under that tab, as well as custom floors and custom design.
Perhaps along with the photos it would be a good idea to briefly explain your service, and what a floor restoration could do to the value of a house, and why it’s important to restore or install wood floors. Perhaps a bit of information on the process, even briefly so a potential client feels more comfortable contacting you. I think the music should be taken off the site, a lot of people do not like hearing music when surfing, it can be distracting to the information being relayed.
What type of services do we provide?
From the About us page it appears you offer custom wood floor installation, restoration services, wood flooring sales services, equipment repair services, floor repairs and conservation. The information is all taken from About Us, it might be a good idea to offer a separate area for each service you provide and give more of an explaination of each service for the potential customer.
Based on the information available on the site, if you were looking for hardwood floors, would you hire us? Why?
I think it would be unlikely that I would hire you based on the information on the site. The main reason being, there isn’t enough information for me to decide why I should choose you over another company that relays more of what their services entail. I like the look of the site, but I would need more than images of before and after shots to make a purchase like that from an unknown company I haven’t used before. It does help that you have reviews from clients, and show some of your finished products, but I do think you need more information about your actual services on the site.
Please comment on the various elements of the site, including, background color, images, fonts etc.
I do like the background color of black with white font. It makes your text stand out and provides a professional and clean look. The pictures are of great quality and help to make your finished projects pop and stand out. I like that the text is easy to read, with the colors not hard on the eyes at all. The site is pretty quick to load, and the banners lead the potential client to clearly defined areas of the site.
Visit the Blog. Is the text easy to read? Any other comments?
I found the text on the blog easy to read, it appears pretty bold and large on my computer screen. The blog appears to have some good information on picking wood for flooring, cleaning hardwood floors and fixing scratches. All these are helpful and informative, and are well structured and thought out. It might be interesting to add a section to your blog where people can post their own questions, or even interact with you. It might be interesting to have previous clients speak about their projects and what they had done and their experience with your service.
Please share any additional feedback you may have.
I did enjoy browsing the site, but did wish there was more information on your services instead of the photos. I did like that there is information in the blog, but it is possible that a potential client will not take the time to read the blog, and will want to have an idea of what they can expect before contacting you.

Visit PolishHardwoodFloors.com. What is your initial impression of the site?
My first impression was that the site is ways to dark. Having said that I understand that having such a dark background makes the pictures pop on the page. I really liked the pictures on the site because it really showcased what the site does.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
As I stated above I’m not a fan of such a dark back drop but it does work in a way to make everything else stand out. I liked that your homepage layout being quit simple and well organized. I liked the contrast of gray but I would have liked it lighter making the fading into the black more pronounced. I liked the “welcome” on the homepage it made me feel like I personally invited into your site. Many times companie forget about those warm touches. I lked the about page, it was informative and seemed sincerely devoted to great service. The florring tabs were just exqusite and unexpected. I liked that I could read what type of flooring was in the picture that made potential ording easy. Â
What type of services do we provide?
Your company does hardwood flooring, restoration, custom design, palace floors and commercial projects.
Based on the information available on the site, if you were looking for hardwood floors, would you hire us? Why?
Based on your site I would definitly hire your. Your work speaks for itself and one can tell that your companies is into quality work and customer appreciation.
Please comment on the various elements of the site, including, background color, images, fonts etc.
After having visited your site the black has grown on me and I no longer feel it was an offset choice to make. There is no visual competion of color on your site making your eyes focus on any other color except those on the pictures. The font was fine, and easy to read. I liked how I could see the images all at once or make one picture larger to focus in on it.
Visit the Blog. Is the text easy to read? Any other comments?
The blog is very well written but it is a little long. I think that it would be better if it was broken up to sections and one can click on them to read what ever text they would like.
Please share any additional feedback you may have.
There seems to be a typo on your description content. You said, “we pride in what….” maybe you forget to put the word “take” in the sentence. Other than that it well written and gives a touch a background into your company.
On the about page you put, ” After moving to US in 2003…” I would insert the word “the” after the word to.
“As our client base grew, we branched out and opened new division – wood flooring sales.” I would insert the world “a” after the word opened.Â
“We’ve always been employing people with great wood knowledge and expertise,” I would suggest We’ve always employed people with great knowledge and expertise.Â
Visit PolishHardwoodFloors.com. What is your initial impression of the site?
Simple layout, could add into more features to make it more attractive.
Add a logo and favicon, also maybe an easy taglilne to remember for reinforcing your brand.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
I don’t like the black background. If you’re selling floors I assume customers like bright, sparkling and clean floors. Black does not give us this feelings. You may change the background to brighter colors.
On the black background, it’s difficult to read the comments with dark grey fonts. Also the comments is Comic Sans MS! Never use Comic Sans MS on a professional website unless your target audience are children. That’s a kid’s font. For graphic and design website like yours, you can add in more italic, and use serif fonts. Try Garamond, Georgia and other fonts to see which go best with your design. I’m sure that you can find a better font other than Arial. You surely want to match your fonts with your beautiful floors, don’t let the fonts spoil the website.
The flash is nicely done and it gets the sole attention. But if I were you I would not use flash, ajax and javascript can do the same job and it doesn’t require users to have flash installed. Now you have done the flash for your website, don’t forget to save this as video and post it on youtube.
I also love to read your blog, this shows that you’re a real professional and that will gain you recognition from your audience.
The hardwood floor installation page is fancily done by LiveShare. That gives us pictures of what you’ve done. I don’t think the music is necessary though, we maybe listening on our own music when browsing your page.
What type of services do we provide?
Hardwood Floors installation, design and restoration in New York.
Based on the information available on the site, if you were looking for hardwood floors, would you hire us? Why?
Yes, simply because you’re professional, you can add more portfolios which you’d completed.
Please comment on the various elements of the site, including, background color, images, fonts etc.
Apart from what I’ve said, be consistent in your site. You’re using Arial on your frontpage in description. And all of a sudden on the contact us page georgia is the main font? Stick with 1 font only, and on special dialogs which you want to stress like the comments, the quotations, you can try another font to create a distinction apart from the major passage and the special paragraphs.
Also on the contact us page, red fonts do not go well on black background. You can clearly see this one. Make sure your fonts stand out from the page and is easy to read.
Visit the Blog. Is the text easy to read? Any other comments?
I like the blog very much, it’s easy to read, size of font is well-selected. But if it is a blog I’d like to know when it is posted, so that I know is the article is new or not.
Please share any additional feedback you may have
On the portfolio page with LiveShare, instead of naming it as custom design 1, 2, 3, 4, etc, create a name for it in english. Custom design 15 has no meaning. But “four-pointed 5 inch stars tiled on dark brown square tiles” is more meaningful than custom design 15.
Finally about your company. Is your company named as “Polish Hardwood Floors”? This sounds more like a product to me. When I first visit your website I thought you’re selling Hardwood Floors from Poland, ie, Poland people’s (Polish) Hardwood Floors. Later after reading startuplift description page I see that Polish is not poland people but the meaning of “make it smooth and glossy”. Then is the website should be selling “Polished Hardwood Floors”? You still may want to put your company name up instead of just the product you’re selling. If customers want your service, they want to know more about the company before they select you. There are quite a lot of similar companies selling hardwood floors services, why you? Tell them in the website why you’re better than others, maybe in quotation, services, final result, etc. With your company also named in your website you will have logos, which helps to promote your company branding.
Visit PolishHardwoodFloors.com. What is your initial impression of the site?
My initial impression of the site wasn’t great at all. The site looks amateurish, to say the least. The design of the site is too gaudy in my opinion. The designer has tried to incorporate a lot of elements. The font looks too childish. Also, a whole lot of space is unused on the homepage. The layout isn’t attractive at all.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
What i find bothersome-Â
–The font is atrocious. A site that deals with wood polishing should not be using comic sans ms in my opinion.
–Lots of space is wasted on the homepage.–the site doesn’t have a logo.
–The music is unnecessary and shouldn’t have a tab on the side.
What i like –
– The flash media makes the design presentable.Â
–The site gives an option for a custom design.
–A blog is included about the site. This will help new users greatly.
What type of services do we provide?
You provide supply, installation and polishing of hardwood floors. These could be listed more explicitly on the site.
Based on the information available on the site, if you were looking for hardwood floors, would you hire us? Why?
Yes. Only because the designs available on the site are very appealing. This has got nothing to do with the site.
Please comment on the various elements of the site, including, background color, images, fonts etc.
I have already commented on the colour scheme of the site. The homepage could do with a lot more work. The color scheme is decent but the fonts make it look bad. The other pages are reasonably well done.
The music provided on the other pages is slightly unnecessary.
The flash usage is very attractive. The designs are presented very nicely.
Lots of space is underutilized everywhere. Some sections also look very cramped.
Visit the Blog. Is the text easy to read? Any other comments?
The blog i very easy to read. It is a really good feature on this site. I really like the information provided on the blog. It is nicely categorized and very informative.
Please share any additional feedback you may have.
–the comapny could use a logo.
–The site doesn’t have to waste so much space.
– The blog could have been slightly concise.
Â
Visit PolishHardwoodFloors.com. What is your initial impression of the site?
My initial impression is that the site looks professional. The slide shows played the important part to attract customer attention. The homepage looks a little empty for me. You can add a trademark or logo above the welcome greeting. I suggest that for the background color, it should be a color which is similar to the wood. This will make the site looks more professional and interesting.Â
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
When i click on the hard floor and custom design navigator, there is no content inside, i only can hear some music sound. I don’t find anything bothersome at your website. What i like is that your contact us page is very informative which displaying the location of your outlet and also allow people to directly send any question to you. This is very convenient for the customer. I also like your commercial page which displaying the location that you cover. The screenshot that you displayed is very important for people to gain trust and confidence toward your service.
What type of services do we provide?
You provide a wood floor installation for houses or shop and also providing the floor  maintenance or repair service.
Based on the information available on the site, if you were looking for hardwood floors, would you hire us? Why?
No, i would consider and try to contact you first before making any choice. I would like to know more information such as the prices and also approximately how long does the installation take. Also i would like to go to your outlet to see some sample of the wood floor. Check the quality of it.
Please comment on the various elements of the site, including, background color, images, fonts etc.
The site is simple, which i think it is not attractive enough, i suggest you can put a video of how you guys works during the installation make it fast forward and display the result to make it more professional. I have mentioned about the background color above. The font and images have no problem. Also you can add sample of the wood floor on your site to allow visitor to see whether the wood floor is suitable for them or not.
Visit the Blog. Is the text easy to read? Any other comments?
yes the text is easy to read and it is fine. I suggest that you can allow people to leave a comment on the blog and you can respond to it. This will make you more interactive with the visitor and it can create a good customer relationship. Visitor also can view the comments given by others as a reference.
Please share any additional feedback you may have.
For the homepage, i think you can add a listing of what is the benefit of your service, what people can get from it. It can make it clear that what the site is about when they first visit. Also you can add the pricing on your site or maybe you have packages for it, so you can state the price for each package. People who interested on it will definitely look for the price. Also you should connect your site with some social network to help you to market your service. People can like and share it with their friends.
Visit PolishHardwoodFloors.com. What is your initial impression of the site? The slideshow of the floors were amazing. Beautiful, quality floors and great presentation.
Â
What do you find bothersome? What do you like? The main page could use a click option for the slides, it should be optionable because it can be a bit distracting. I like the floor designs, attention to detail and the atmosphere of each room design.
Â
What type of services do we provide? Floor installation and services.
Based on the information available on the site, if you were looking for hardwood floors, would you hire us? Why? Absolutely. The work that your company do is very high quality and stunning.
Please comment on the various elements of the site, including, background color, images, fonts etc. A video of your work and explaination of services would be an excellent touch. Also, i am not a fan of the background color. The site should be vibrant and black is not a good choice.
Â
Visit the Blog. Is the text easy to read? Any other comments? The text is nice, very easy to read and the font sizes are perfect. Really like the site.
Please share any additional feedback you may have. I hope that your company considers a video introduction showing samples of your work. Besides what i mentioned earlier, i believe your company does excellent work and will get very far.
Visit PolishHardwoodFloors.com. What is your initial impression of the site?
I like the the set up of the homepage. I like the slideshow that featured all the different wood floor designs that are provided by your company. What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
As stated above I really like the slideshow, I thought this was a clever idea. What I wasn’t too found of was the gray text against the dark background, that was apparently testimonials from satisfied customers. I did like the white text at the left hand side and the top menu bar.
What type of services do we provide?
You are of course a hardwood floor provider who will also install the hardwood floors.
Based on the information available on the site, if you were looking for hardwood floors, would you hire us? Why?
Well, since your service is only provided in New York at the moment, and I don’t live there I will have to say no. However, if your company ever branched out into my area I would consider it, because you obviously have quality materials, and you provide professional installation.
Please comment on the various elements of the site, including, background color, images, fonts etc.
Once again not too fond fo the background color with the gray text. I think displaying testimonials is an important feature, however as this stands a visitor could ignore this part of the homepage because it sort of blends into the background.
Visit the Blog. Is the text easy to read? Any other comments?
Yes, the text is very easy to read on the blog. White goes very well with a black background. The information is also very basic and to the point.
Please share any additional feedback you may have.
I do suggest making the testimonials more clear. This is the only thing that I can find that needs work on your website. The rest of your website is very well done.
What is your initial impression of the site?
The layout is contemporary and sleek. I like how the homepage has pictures and customer comments that change every few seconds. It’s seems to be a very user-friendly site, which is a huge plus for me, and of course it’s valuable to others as well.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
The photo galleries bother me somewhat. The pictures are gorgeous with outstanding quality and clarity, and the variety of flooring and rooms shown is spectacular. However, simply the layout is a bit of a turn-off. It’s a nice attribute to be able to zoom in on particular rooms, but it’s difficult to get a clear picture of some with the set-up of the zooming tool. I think a standard scrolling screen would do better, with an opportunity for guests to click on a specific picture to enlarge, and have the ability to zoom in to particulars from there.
While it does prove somewhat bothersome, I also love the photo galleries! As mentioned above, the pictures are remarkable, and they show a great variety of the type of work that you are able to do. Many people may want a traditional hardwood floor, then, after looking through your galleries, find a design they didn’t realize was available and decide they want something more intricate. Keep up with the pictures.
The “About” page spoke volumes about your company. I love it. Something as simple as an honest story can persuade people to use a particular company, and yours is one of those stories.
What type of services do we provide?
You sell and install hardwood flooring, both residentially and commercially. You can install traditional plank flooring, but you’ll also do strip, parquet, mosaics, and custom work. You also offer flooring restoration.
Based on the information available on the site, if you were looking for hardwood floors, would you hire us? Why?
If I lived in the area, maybe. There’s nothing on your site that indicates a price range. I understand that there is a big variable, depending on what work needs to be done before installation, what kind of flooring is chosen, etc. If there was a way to offer a ballpark range of pricing, that would be very helpful. That being said, if your prices were comprable to another installer, then yes, I would hire you.
Please comment on the various elements of the site, including, background color, images, fonts etc.
Overall, I liked it. However, the white font on a black background can be a little strenuous on the eyes if someone is looking at your site for a long period of time. The font, the layout, and the links, in my opinion, were all great.
Visit the Blog. Is the text easy to read? Any other comments?
The blog is wonderful. It’s so helpful that you included it. Some of the topics that are included are of vital importance, yet could easily be forgotten by someone like me, who knows only the basics of flooring. Discussing subfloors, moisture, maintenance, and repair are so important. But seeing that you also cover do-it-yourself tips was one of the things that really won me over. It makes it seem as if you understand that not everybody is going to be able to afford to buy and new floor AND pay for installation. You will very likely win over customers by offering such tips – they know they can buy from you without feeling pressured to pay for your company to also do the installation work. Very good blog.
Please share any additional feedback you may have.
Most everything has been covered already. I like your site and find your business to be very intriguing. The only thing other than layout that bothered me about the pictures is the fact that you give the addresses where the buildings are located. If you laid flooring in my house, I wouldn’t mind a picture going on the site, but I definitely would not want my address posted for the world to see. Maybe you have permission to post addresses; if so, then that’s perfectly fine.
You service only a very small portion of the US. That’s understandable, but if I had to nitpick, I would suggest offering advice to those of us living outside of your area. Would someone in Ohio be welcomed to contact you with questions? Could they order samples from you?  Order flooring from you and have it delivered? I understand the shipping fees on such an thing would be enormous, but some people might be interested nonetheless.
