About RentalSpot:
RentalSpot was founded on one core premise – vacation rentals should always be free to list.
We should not have to pay to list information about our own vacation rental homes. Rental properties should be easy to list and easy for renters to find using maps. Every vacation rental owner or agency should add the free RentalSpot.com listings to their marketing toolset.
RentalSpot.Com believes that:
- Listings should always be free as this will attract the most listings and so create one place where a user can find the most complete inventory of houses. We will never charge for the basic listing of a rental property.
- Maps should be the primary way of finding houses – location is what users care about most.
- There should be easy ways to communicate among users and owners to help narrow down the best rental property.
- The community should act as the police force to ensure fraudulent or inaccurate listings are quickly exposed.
- Coordinating among family or groups should be easy so that planning a vacation together is fun.
The site should be fast and clean – Any ads or promos should be very understated.

It is about locating and listing available vacation rental homes.
Search for ‘Disney World’ by using the search box on the home page. Review the search results and comment on the various elements of the results.
This is impressive. Searching for Disney World brings up all available vacation rental homes in the area. You can search in a number of ways including distance, price, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, varying views, such as beachfront, lake view, lake front, ocean view. You can also search using pools, pets and hot tubs. The detail option gives in-depth details including contact person, pictures and reviews.
Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?
I would definitely sign up for a free account. This is an awesome website and very helpful.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?
This site involves great detail and gives its user everything it is looking for if searching for or listing a vacation rental home.

Great job on the site. I really enjoyed visiting it. The layout is well done. Color is a little boring. You could use a little more to liven it up. All in all the site is beautifully simple, easy to navigate and easy to understand.
Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about? From my initial glance at the homepage, I am assuming this site to be a way to list vacation rental property as well as rent vacation rental property.   I am guessing it to be a way to make reservations to rent property for a vacation and/or list my property if I wish to rent it out to those that are vacationing in my area.
Search for ‘Disney World’ by using the search box on the home page. Review the search results and comment on the various elements of the results. I entered the search term “Disney World” in the Search box on the main page of the website. It took approximately 5 seconds for my results to be displayed. My results were 36 properties.   The results were displayed with the nearest property to my exact destination point listed first, with the farthest being listed last.   I then Clicked for Details and a window opened with the owner’s description of the property, including the price listed. The results again, were nearly instantaneous.  Everything I needed to know about the property, including square footage, and a phone number was listed.
Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why? I would definitely sign up for a free trial and account if I were in planning a vacation in the near future. I would much rather search a site such as this, as compared to somewhere like Craigslist. This gives me plenty of details, including a phone number for contact.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors? As stated above, I think this site is a fantastic site to be able to view everything in detail about the potential property I am planning to visit. I have experience working with travel agencies and I would definitely feel comfortable using this one.
I appreciate all the details being made available to me in my search immediately. I am able to find everything I need to know about the property, including what items are included in my rental. Everything seems to be organized exactly as I would expect it to be in my search.   I also appreciate the fact that it is free to list properties.  Any potential questions I could have had are answered directly under the FAQ tab.  The fact that the one cannot just list a property without it being reviewed is another plus for me. I would definitely recommend this site to my friends and family.

· I believe that the site was about finding the right vacation rental property. I guess you can list your rental property and get a wider audience and the same holds true for people looking to rent the homes, they will have a wider selection
· Search for ‘Disney World’ by using the search box on the home page. Review the search results and comment on the various elements of the results.
· Wow, I came up with 36 rental properties near the Disney World area ranging in size and cost. I viewed some of the rentals and it had most of the information needed about the home. They even provided pictures of the home. The map also provided you on the locations of the homes alone with where Disney World is located.
· For me, I would not sign up for this website. I am not one that is traveling a lot and looking for places to stay. I think this is a great website for traveler, but not for me. Maybe later in time, but not at this moment
· I am not familiar with other sites, but like I mentioned above, I think this site has everything the renter would need to make a decision. This site does offer a wide variety of homes that could fit anyone’s taste. I also think that if you are going to pay for this service, the renters and homes would be monitored to ensure that the home is really the home being offered.
· I like the blog that you have listed but I also think a FAQ would also benefit the newbie looking for a place to rent. I did see that you have some information under about us, but someone may not look there. You may have one, but I did not see it on the home page.Â
Visit https://rentalspot.com. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
The site looks professional and has the right amount of color that makes the site stand out. I really like the white background with the borderts and all the tabs/buttons red. There isn’t too much red to overwhelm the reader.
The site looks clutter free as well. Appears to be the right amount of information on the site.
Search for ‘Disney World’ by using the search box on the home page. Review the search results and comment on the various elements of the results.
I really like the layout of the result page. It makes it easy to navigate and search what you are looking for. I like how you can narrow your search with the columns on the left because some people are looking for something specific and do not want to go through lists of vacation rentals that do not have that feature.
I also like how you can click on the house and it shows you on the map where it is located and that you can click the numbers on the map and it will show you which house rental it is.
Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?
I wouldn’t pay to use this site because there are other sites that you can use that enables you to search for the same thing for free. I don’t think I have to pay to search for a vacation rental.
I am not sure if I would sign up for a free account. I do not take that many vacations that I need to sign up for a vacation rental website. I do not want to have to login and register in order to produce results. I might want to sign up for a free account if I took vacations regularly and want to stay in a house. When I go on vacations, I stay in hotels. However, I would definitely use this site. This site offers tons of information that is easy to find and use.
If I was a person that actually had a vacation rental, then I would sign up for a free trial/ free account. I like this site and would want to advertise my house on here if I had one.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?
I think that this is a great site and I like it better than similar/competitor sites. I like the look and the feel of the site. This site makes it very easy to find the vacation rentals that you want and lets you narrow down the results or broaden your results on the following page.
I really like the colors that you have used and I like how you used the right amount of color to make certain sections pop.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
I like the about us section. I like the layout a lot. You don’t have too much information on the page to distract people or deter them from your site. I like the pictures that you show on the about us section. It help adds to what you are talking about.
I also like the “what’s the catch” section. I think that section is good to have because people want to know why something is free or why the site is there. I think you did an excellent job on the layout of the website in general.
I think my only recommendation is to put your facebook and twitter badge on the homepage as well. Just having those badges on the contact page might not attract the traffic that you want to your other social media pages. People might not think to look around to see if you have a facebook or twitter. If you put it on the homepage, they will know for sure.
Again, great site!
Visit https://rentalspot.com. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
This site is about finding the perfect vacation spot for you. The tag line at the top of the page says just that “The fastest way to find the right vacation property rental.” It is kinda like hotwire or expedia except instead of hotel rooms this site has actual rentals for your vacation.
Search for ‘Disney World’ by using the search box on the home page. Review the search results and comment on the various elements of the results.
It gave quite a few results when i typed in Disney World into the search box. The search gave a variety of different rentals; each one was different which makes it easy for a family to find the perfect place that fits their needs while on vacation. I like how there is a button at the bottom of each house saying save and details; it sucks having to go back and find the house after looking at all the other rentals. This button makes things on the site so much easier.
Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?
If I was someone that went on vacation a lot then i would definitely sign up for the site. It is nice to stay in a rental when you are going on vacation with a group of people. This way you dont have to get more than one hotel room you all can just stay in a rental by where you wanna go.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?
I haven’t eveer come acrossed other sites that help you find rental properties; I have only visited sites that help find hotel rooms. Compared to those kind of sites I would say that this site is better because it actually lets you stay in a house; not just be coupped up in a small hotel room. It makes it a lot nicer to just relax at the times you and your family or friends aren’t going anywhere.

First, I feel this vacation rental specific website has a very simple yet pleasant look. It is also easy to navigate and search. Upon searching for “Disney World” vacation rentals I got 36 results for very nice housing rentals. This took a mere few seconds.
I will certainly use Rental Spot the next time I want to find great rentals for vacations. The reason for this is that I really like the fact that it gives you homes to rent as opposed to hotels and other lodgings. It would be more like having a home away from home while you are getting away from it all. I am into personal comfort and amenities.
Besides the ease of navigation and jiffy quick search results this site also offers Google maps for fast location identification. I think that is a big plus. I really like the fact that you can look at the details without navigating away from the complete listing of search results. That is very convenient. I would not only use this site for myself, I would also recommend it to other.

This site is about finding and listing vacation rental properties. This site allows you to: post properties for free, do map-based searching, save rentals and to plans rentals with friends.
Search for ‘Disney World’ by using the search box on the home page. Review the search results and comment on the various elements of the results.
Well as soon as the page comes up their is a vast amount of information to look at. Even though there is a lot of information it’s not overly complicated. I really liked how the map highlighted the houses and their location in relevant to what was searched. I appreciated that the hoses were listed with pictures. There was so many ways to narrow down a search and that was really helpful.
Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?
I would rather sign up for a free account. I couldn’t see paying for the possibility of renting a vacation spot. If you absolutely want to charge people you could present a booking fee of some sort.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?
As I was not to familiar with other vacation rental websites I took a look at some others. I was pleasantly surprised to see how simple your best site is compared to some of the others. Your color choice is vibrant and like how short the pages were. Some of the others sites lost my attention when I had to scroll a million miles to see all they had to offer. Now I see why your company may want to charge. Maybe you could charge vacation rental owners a listing fee in addition to the booking fee I mentioned earlier.

I loved how you guys detailed the “o” i spot. Very nice website.
Visit https://rentalspot.com. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
I think that site is about renting vacation properties in the U.S. It is probably a site that gives you the best vacation property match based on desired location.
Search for ‘Disney World’ by using the search box on the home page. Review the search results and comment on the various elements of the results.
The results provided are very satisfactory to my search. I was impressed by the variety of features to search a vacation property on the left hand side of the page. I also liked the map feature give a potential client the “bigger picture”. The sort option by price and distance is a good idea because those are the main concerns a person looking for a rental looks for. I expected to see prices since that is one of the sort options, however, I did not see any and also the price per week bar was a bit confusing. I chose various price ranges and no results for my ranges were given, hence, defeating the purpose of the price bar.
I liked finding my chosen properties on the map with a picture and details, to give me an idea exactly of their geographical location in comparison to the destination (disney world). I would have liked to see more information on nearby restaurants, attractions, beaches, etc., included in the details box and/or pictures of the neighborhood or a google earth view.
Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?
Yes. I would sign up because I find it very convenient, thorough and I like the properties advertised. It is very user-friendly, easy to navigate and other than the price missing, I found it actually fun to browse and answered almost all my questions.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?
I’ve only seen one or two other sites like RentalSpot and I think RentalSpot is more advanced with their mapping features. However, RentalSpot does not give the pricing information others provide. This site is also using wrong colors and needs more pictures of their properties featured or advertised in the main page that I have seen other sites do. People always want to see pictures, gallery, tours to get an idea of what to rent.
Other competitors have connected with facebook via facebook application to allow fb users and their contacts to book a rental and at the same time advertise via word of mouth.
I have seen other competitors retain a customer base and keep them “in the loop” by offering a free newsletter subscription via email.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
Give prices. People want to know how much rentals are instantly or at least a range. Also, include seasonal deals if any and/or low vs. high season pricing.
I would change the colors of the website. I don’t recommend red as is mainly to call attention to various aspects of the website not to be used as the main color. It can be too vibrant and irritating to read. I suggest creating columns, boxes, lines to divide content to make it easier to read and it gives the visitor better direction within the website. Add a “contact us” section with all information available for a client to be able to contact RentalSpot: phone number, contact form, email. Add facebook and twitter for updates, deals, sales, etc.

RentalSpot is designed to help users find rentals in various locations. it is an ideal website to use for individuals who are looking for specific homes to rent. the website is laid out so that site users can type in their vacation destination and receive detailed information about rental homes in the area.
When I first arrived at the home page I felt that it was organized in a way that would help me search for rentals quickly and easily. There were specific destinations towards the bottom of the page of popular vacation sites. There was also a big area at the top of the page to search.
When I typed the destination “Disney World” into the search bar I received information about several rental properties in the area. I could further narrow a search by checking specific information that I was looking for such as properties with a home, WiFi or that are handicapped accessible.
I would be willing to sign up for a free trial With RentalSpot as long as I could be sure that I could back out of a long term commitment if I changed my mind. I feel that the information in the website is very useful so it may be worth signing up for a free trial. However, there may be users who are weary of doing this. For this reason, it is good that users have the option to sign up for a free account. I feel that many people would be comfortable enough signing up for a free account.
I have not seen this much detailed information given from competitor websites. I believe that this site is easy to navigate and search results can be saved and easily accessed. In addition, it is easy for a user to place their own listing by following directions at the top of the page.
Overall, I liked RentalSpot and would use it in the future if I was looking up information about rentals in certain destinations. I think a website like that is needed because all the information can be found quickly and easily.

Clear. Concise. Nicely formatted. I like the homepage for those reasons.
Search for ‘Disney World’ by using the search box on the home page. Review the search results and comment on the various elements of the results.
I like the search results both in Disney World and in my own home town, New York City. I am currently in Denver, CO and can find a place to stay for New Years! Cool!!!
Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?
I would sign up for a free trial account. I understand that a business runs on money and word of mouth so I would prefer it over other sites that seem to lure you in then keep you on a contract for longer than you need it for.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?
I don’t really know of any other competitors other than Craigslist. This site doesn’t seem sketchy like CL does.

None. Great Job!

I think this siteis GOOD but i don’t really know of any other competitors other than Craigslist.
Visit https://rentalspot.com. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
The site is used for finding a vacation home rental for people vacationing, or listing a vacation home rental for people that own properties.
Search for ‘Disney World’ by using the search box on the home page. Review the search results and comment on the various elements of the results
The search returns a map for the location of properties. The map could be somewhat usefull for Lake Type properties. For other type of properties the map may not be found usefull because the traveler has never visited the city before and a map would not do him/her any good because he would not feel oriented with the area anyways. The filtering by stars results does not return properties that have not been rated which could be worked with to return those type of properties so the user doesn’t miss out on nice properties. Everything else seems to work alright.
Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?
I would sign up for a free trial because it’s an extra resource to list my vacation property and have a higher chance of getting noticed and keeping my property booked through out the year. From a vacationer point of view I would sign up because based on the properties I seen the properties look nice and are luxury.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?
I think the site is very comparable to some of the well known rental sites in the industry. Some of the features on the site such as the ratings, the detailed description, and the map give it an advantage over some of the other sites.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have
Other positives of the site include the phone numbers and contact owner options which are an easy way to get things done fast by a person looking to rent. Therefore those are also positives.
First of all i found the home page to be very helpful, and everything seemed to be as it should. The color was fine, I think that Red is a attention grabber at least it works on me. I thought that the home page was easy enough for anyone to search destinies and it was very helpful.
I then searched for Disney World and quickly found 36 results. I found accommodations anywhere from 2 bedroom housing all the way to 6 bedroom housing.I also found locations from 20 miles from Disney World, to just 1.5 miles away. Most all results had private pools and garages.I also found there are 11 properties that are equipped for handicap people.
If i traveled or took vacations than i would definitely sign up for a free account. For the traveling person or families, you simply could not go wrong with a free account. You can also receive seasonal benefits to help with vacation savings.
I think Rental Spot is superior to its competitors because for starters it is completely confusion free, everything is already laid out before  you’re very eyes. There is no part of this site at all confusing. Its 100% free and that is its edge.
I think that Rental Spot is the ideal web site for the ideal American family and traveler even if its for work related reasons you have to travel. Its free, its simple and it offers all the insight on any destination in the U.S.If you have a peace of rental property that you want to advertise than you can do so here for free.So as you can see there are several reasons to choose Rental Spot for your needs.
