My immediate reaction was one of dread: “Oh, another shopping site…” I was mildly curious as to how this site expected to set itself apart from the infinite number of online retail store sites that now completely clutter the internet. I like that you have an “Our Story” and a blog. Personal touches go a long way toward helping to develop interest in a startup. In addition to compelling copy/sales pitches, you benefit from people being able to see the human side of how the idea for the site came about and what went into getting it live. Connecting with people that way, and through a blog, are solid ideas. People come to sites like these for help selling merchandise, and the advice in the blog may keep them long enough to consider trying your service, which is the whole point.

Not particularly. It’s not a service I need. I like the idea of relationship managers. Correct implementation of that feature may make or break you, but it’s still not a service I would find useful as a writer. I would consider bookmarking your page and keeping it around in case a friens could benefit from your product down the road, and assuming you had developed well and gained a good reputation.

It’s fairly clear, but the sales language is a little vague. Nothing that’s a huge problem. The cursor keeps moving along, so people cant stop on a point and read and consider it without it dragging on to the next point. This could be annoying for someone who doesn’t read fast or wants to consider the current point. It’s not an issue for me, but you’ll get people who feel “awkward” not being able to keep up, and that might translate into being uncomfortable or having an unconscious sense of the services being beyond their capacity to utilize well. It’s a subtle point, I hope I’m articulating it correctly. We can click to the next feature on our own. Either that, or you could set it up to rotate only until we click on something, and then leave it to us. I do understand the goal of the service but sometimes the copy leaves lingering questions and doesn’t really get direct enough to give me a crystal clear idea of what is going to be done for me. I would highly recommend a baby-steps video on the home page. You want to anticipate the needs of professionals and newbies alike, without insulting one or the other, so an optional tutorial that’s dumbed down a bit might be an option.

Your landing page gives the impression that there’s nothing to scroll down for, in other words, the color scheme somewhat hides the scroll bar and the bottom of the page looks to be complete as is, without anymore information lying below. The links on the top attempt to be somewhat clever with a concept that has mini explanations below them. Features (what we offer) for example. However, it sounds silly when you explain that “Blog” means “our Blog,” and “Contact” means “Get in touch.” If it doesn’t work across the board, don’t do it. It seems like it was done on the last two links just so that they all said SOMETHING below them. Not creative. Detrimental. When I click on your logo I can see the clickthrough box show up all the way to the left of the page, that’s sloppy website design. the signup page made me realize that I still wasn’t knowledgeable enough about the product to know exactly what was going to happen next, or what I was supposed to be ready to do. I’ll put out the idea of a simple video walkthrough again. I’d like to see a few testimonials, or maybe a few links to actual sites that customers are using through your service. Visible results and benefits always work to sell product. I also think you should put a focus on defining a problem for people considering your kind of product, and explain how you solve that problem. Let them relate to common issues with web merchandise sites and tell them exactly how you will help them. Compel them to look for more information.
