What do you think the current version of the site is about?
The current version of the site SEO GADGET appears to be about building great keyword research
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware?
Definitely come up with a list of selling points that shows why your site is better than the companies that you have identified as your competitors.
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be?
Well for people who use SEO regularly, it doesn’t take long to jump right in. However, new people to SEO will need more time to learn it and utilize your site. I recommend giving a 15 day free trial.
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc.
Actionable suggestions: First, your tagline “BUILD GREAT KEYWORD RESEARCH†does not seem to flow easily when I say it. The rule is: If you have to say it in your head more than once, it is not simple enough. Something is wrong with the grammar. It needs to say either: RESEARCH FOR GREAT KEYWORDS . The problem is you have two verbs in your tagline. You need to either use BUILD or RESEARCH, but not both in the way you currently have them. If you use them both they need to be together like: BUILDING & RESEARCHING GREAT KEYWORDS. I recommend you fix this right away because it is not correct grammar usage.
I also am not fond of the word, BETA. If you beta test something, people think that it is only temporary. But you don’t want to give that idea to people that your service is only temporary. You want to give them the feeling that you will be there through the long haul (regardless of what your intentions are).
Next, on your homepage you have a lot of categories (5, with a lot of words) It is information overload. And then the icons are below. Instead, you need the ICONS above the categories to help identify them, and then prune down your categories but either providing detailed information on other pages, that are linked by category buttons. I actually thought your bright blue tabs were links to other pages, but they were not. I recommend getting rid of the category details below the buttons, and have that information on another page, not on your homepage. Your homepage needs to be designated for selling points to get customers, and I would not buy just based on your excess of information. It is information overload to prospective clients.
I also recommend having a tab for “Pricing and Signup†link at the top of your page. This is usually the first question people ask IF you convince them your product is good enough to buy.
Lastly, I like the content provided on your blog.
I would really recommend streamlining and doing something to increase your call to action on your homepage.
What do you think the current version of the site is about? I think it about keyword research. A way for one to research potential keywords that can give you great search engine rankings.
Â
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware? I might suggest you add a video that compares your product to another. Maybe explain why I would chose your service over another.
Â
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be? I would think that one would be able to get the full effects from this trial within a month. I would suggest you offer the first month free as a trial.
Â
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc. I think it would actually make more sense to say “How to Build Great Keyword Research” or even “Building Great Keyword Research”.   I would suggest maybe a revision of this: With SEOgadget keyword research, you can build actionable research to help discover opportunities in your market. Integrate with Google Analytics | Get search volumes from the Google Adwords API | Rank checker | Categorise keywords easily | Build amazing client reports. To me, that just doesn’t quite seem to say anything amazing to make me want to continue on. If you introduce it on more “How to do”, I think it would be more appealing to me to continue on.
Â
I like the explanations on the About Page and think that this information should be more of what is contained on the landing page.
Â
Everything else looks really good. It’s easy to maneuver and self explanatory.
Â
What do you think the current version of the site is about?
My first impression of your site is that it is an SEO tool for keyword research, one that combines several steps of the SEO process into one tool.
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware?
Actually, I think that your homepage has a perfect mix of design and copy. Â Without overloading the page, there is plenty of information to make it clear exactly what you provide. Â Your benefit statement is clear, and it’s clear what steps are necessary – very effective.
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be?
I would recommend 30 days, for two reasons: 1) 30 days provides enough time to run an initial report, implement changes based on the data you provide, and verify results.  If your product produces information that generates results (and I expect it will, which I will elaborate upon later), after 30 days, you should definitely have a good conversion rate of trial users to sales.
The thing is, while your service is extremely convenient because it puts into one place things that take several steps (and a lot of time – I frequently create SEO plans for clients as a marketing project manager, so I know firsthand how much work is involved), most of what you offer is available elsewhere for free (analytics, keyword research).  To demonstrate the value of your product (which for me is time saved, which = $$), you have to give a trial long enough to see results.
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc.
I am extremely interested in your product, and plan on signing up and testing it out for myself. Â As I mentioned, there is a direct benefit to me, as a very busy project manager and copy editor. Â Often, for my website projects, SEO is a secondary thought, and it really shouldn’t be. Â Keyword research alone takes hours of my time. Â To shave ANY time off of my SEO process will directly impact my productivity – very exciting!
I think your FAQ is slightly confusing. Â I’d rather see some standard FAQ responses, then the community tool for answers below (or linked in the sidebar). Â Relying entirely on the community for answers is a bit annoying.
The design of your site is clean and simple – excellent for my tastes and browsing needs. Â Your copy is clear and concise. Â One thing I see frequently is copy overload. Â You definitely avoid that, and the copy you have included is very effective.
I was slightly confused when visiting your blog. Â The nav on your blog doesn’t match the nav on your product website (I understood after a few seconds of clicking around that you offer several products, and this is more of a “corporate” blog). Â While this isn’t terribly confusing, the blog navigates to a site that does not link back to the product website very easily. Â My recommendation is to create a separate blog for each product (with links back to the corporate blog), or, open the blog in a new window. Â My concern is that visitors will be annoyed at the disconnect in navigation and instead of figuring out how to get back to the product site, will simply give up (web visitors are so very fickle!).
Overall, though, I’m very intrigued by your product. If you end up offering the free trial, I will definitely be giving it a try.
Â
What do you think the current version of the site is about?
Just from looking quickly at the homepage, I gather that your site helps webmasters improve SEO by providing a one-stop service that aggregates data pertaining to keywords, search engine rankings, Adwords performance, and so on. It might be worth mentioning that I got a much clearer picture of what the site is about from the “Key Features” you listed above than I did from your homepage. That’s not to say I didn’t understand the services you offer when I looked at the homepage, but the details you added here on StartUpLift provide a much fuller explanation.
Â
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware?
For one, I’d like to see a video demonstration of your services. Second, I’d like to see a true FAQ page rather than just a support forum. The support forum is a great idea, but it’s really not the same thing as an FAQ. An FAQ lays out direct answers to common concerns so that users don’t have to search around for the information they need. A support forum is a big help when users have exhausted the FAQ, but most people would ideally like to find their answers on one straightforward page before they have to resort to posting questions to other people or conducting lengthy searches. Also, I think you should have Pricing & Signup as a tab at the top of the homepage as well as a link at the bottom.
Â
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be?
No less than 30 days. It’s common for webmasters to assess traffic, earnings, etc. on a monthly basis, so I don’t think a shorter period of time would be adequate. And 60 days would be even better; that would allow webmasters to compare data from month to month.
Â
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc.
Although I understand the service you’re offering when I look at the homepage, it just doesn’t seem persuasive to me. As I see it, what you’re really offering is the convenience of collecting all this data in one location. That’s your unique selling point. To me, that’s not emphasized enough on the homepage. I’d like to see some big, bold print informing me that your service is going to SAVE ME TIME AND EFFORT by synthesizing all the data I need IN ONE PLACE. That’s what’s going to sell me on your site as a webmaster. The same goes for the About page. It doesn’t really SELL as much as it presents information. One of your first lines says, “With SEOgadget keyword research, you can build research projects to find the answers you need to make good decisions on your search engine optimisation campaign.” That doesn’t grab me. I can do that anywhere. Again, I want to see your unique selling point upfront–how your service will benefit me. And that selling point is time saved and convenience.
Â
I also checked out your blog. To me, the content seemed less appropriate for a blog than it did for a user guide or tutorial. Which makes me wonder…DO you have a user guide or tutorial? What do you have in place to help people understand how to use your service?
Â
Finally, I looked at the Pricing & Signup page. Here, I was somewhat concerned that your pricing plans aren’t detailed enough. You mention how many keywords are covered in each plan, but is that really the only difference between each level of pricing? You might want to add a list of all the services you provide under each plan with a check mark next to each included feature. Also, this is the first time I realized your service is only for a British audience. I hope you’ll consider expanding to North America and other countries as well. I haven’t seen a service quite like yours before, so there’s a very big market to be tapped.
Â
Â
Sorry, one more thing: I didn’t see a Contact page. If I’m going to be paying money for a service, I want to know that I can contact someone directly if I have problems. Again, I know you have a support forum, but that’s not the same thing. You should really have a designated customer service address and preferably a phone number too.
What do you think the current version of the site is about?
This site is about expanding ones ability to research and build client reports by intergrating tools such as: google analytics and api, rank checker, and easier catergoriizing. This wants to help optimize how people search to have more concise outcomes.
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware?
1. A how to video is always helpful in explaining what your company does.
Of course the video should be short and right to the point.
2. The support/ faqs page is nicely separated into easy to follow sections but it has no actual faqs listed on the page. I really like those pages because they allow a user to quickly find what they want without trying to browse through the entire site, call or email the company.
3. There also needs to be a way to contact the company, whethere it be via email or phone support.
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be?
I think that the trial period should vary depending on which level you sign up on. I see a 30-60-90 trial period. Again being that I’m not sure exactly how your company works this seems like a good amount of time for someone to get comfortable and really maximize one’s time with your service.
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc.
The sight is very imformative but it lacks the user/ site interaction. There’s nothing that quit grabs me and make me want to sign up other than an obvious need for such a service. I really liked the simplicity of your website and your color choices. I think the contact information nees to be shifted to the top of the screen instead of the bottom. It was quit easy to navigate through you sites pages. None of the pages were terrilby long to look at and the words were chosen nice so that the lay person could understand what your company is. I aslo see that your company offers positions that should be highlighted somewhere ulness your purposly want that imformation to be sort of hidden or sought after. I like that you have levels but maybe you can add something other than a word count that separates them. If that is the only things that makes the levels differnt then your information is fine. I like that you optimize each page with a easy to read larger font.
What do you think the current version of the site is about?
It’s about “Keyword Search”. You use SEOgadget to build great Keyword Search.
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware?
A video on how to use the service is always helpful. You need to explain to people what makes your service better than others and why people should use your service over others.
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be?
A 30 day trial is most common and I would stick with that. 30 days is plenty of time for people to know if they like a product or not.
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc.
The whole “Support/FaQ” really confuses me. If I type in a question, who answers it? Other clients? I would not want my questions answered by a client, I would expect a professional from your company to help me or answer my questions. I noticed that someone asked a question a month ago and no one has replied yet. Why is that? Every question asked by a clients should be answered within a 24 hour period and they should be answered by professionals from your company.
You need to have a video on how your product works, so people have an idea. One of the people who stated a question on the “Support/FaQ” page was asking what is he suppose to do after he signed up.Â
You need to have something eye catching on your web site. Why should someone use your service over others like yours? What makes your service different than others?
You should get a “facebook” and “twitter” account and post the links on your site. I understand that “facebook” and “twitter” are social sites but they are the most used sites and are good for promoting businesses and services. There is no better way for promoting than taking your business to the most used sites. I noticed that when I clicked on a few of your tabs, it looks there were a few icons to these and other social sites but I’m not sure if thats what they are. If so, then those icons need to be on your “home” page for people to see and you need to state which icon belongs to which social network. Type the name of the network below the icon.
Another suggestion is finding a site that is like yours but doesn’t provide the same services, and team up with them. Have them put a link of your site on their website and in return you do the same with their link on your site. This will bring in new clients.Â
Overall, your site is easy to understand and easy to navigate. I think you should just make a few changes in which I mentioned above.
What do you think the current version of the site is about?
It’s a tool for keyword research.
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware?
As it sits,I would have left almost as fast as I got there. Add some videos that show it in action,or at least some screenshots of the program. I would want to see without a doubt that this is a powerful tool that I would want to use over the program I already use and am comfortable with. What makes this any different than any other keyword tool? I’d say add a page for comparisons and don’t be frugal on it,keyword research tools is an extremely competitive market and you really need to show why a customer would want to choose your product. Videos, comparison charts, screenshots, feedback, I think you’ll want to utilize it all. To add value to the product I’d recommend some free tutorials of the basics of SEO so that a customer wont feel like they’re walking into the free trial blind and worried that they might not be able to get the hang of it before the time is up.
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be?
In my opinion I don’t think that a timed trial period is the way to go with something as advanced as SEO. I was looking at your signup page and the levels. my recommendation is that instead of a timed trial, add a free level to your subscription, with a fully functional program, so they can fully test it and learn about it, but greatly limit the amount of keywords and campaigns. If you do stick with a timed trial I would recommend at least 15 days. And for both of these ideas, tutorials are an amazing added value that could be the difference between a customer going somewhere else that has support and sticking with this program.
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc.
I know this site is in beta, and I think there are a lot of things that need to be taken care of. The first thing that you see when you go to the site is “Build great keyword research”,now I really suck at grammar and english in general, and I don’t usually ever care about it in any site I look at, but, that phrase made me raise my eyebrow and grated on me, it just doesn’t work or make sense to me. I think the site needs a revamp to look more professional, the first thing I thought when I went there is that I went to a badly made affiliate’s sales page, I’m sorry to be so direct about it, but that’s exactly what I thought when I went there. On the issue of looking professional, when I went to the sign up page I notice that all you except is credit card’s, I’m sorry but I would never input my card number on a site that looks like this one currently does. About the FAQ, I’d recommend writing one up and hosting it on the site, it keeps people on your site, it looks better, and it’s what the average person is used to seeing, clicking on FAQ and getting sent somewhere else might confuse some people, BUT, seeing as you already have an account set up with getsatisfaction.com I do recommend setting up a forum link and using Getsatisfaction.com as a forum. A forum is a very often overlooked and simple value add on. As for the interface, everything works and the site is very navigational. I think the colors are nice and work good together, but once again, the site just doesn’t provide a professional look at all. One thing I do really like is the blog, there’s a lot of information in it and I think that if you just transfered some of that info onto a separate information page on your site, the value would go up quite a bit. You need to put some more information on the different levels of membership. Also, just as kind of a side note, if your going to market to the United States, dollar signs in prices are always nice to see. In an overview I think the site needs to be put on the drawing board and enhanced big time, the perceived value needs to be upped a lot before I think it will start converting. The major strong points I can see are the blog and the fact that you already pretty much have the starts of a forum. In any case I hope this review helps and I thank you for letting me review your site.
Dustin

What do you think the current version of the site is about? How to achieve to ranking on search engines and track how the site is doing. How much it is search…..
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware? An interactive program that lets you walk through a “sample” of how to list your website on a search engine.
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be? 21 days. Two weeks to see how software is working to help website stats and then a week to use the software to go in and increase rankings.
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc. I would not use a fully functional trial for any period of time. That does get your software out there but, it also allows for potential misuse of the final product. Leave some features disabled that are an obvious plus for the user. Those features could be the ones shown in the interactive content.
I do want to add that perhaps the URL could be shortened. That is a little longer than what is recommended and might be a little difficult to remember.
I did not find any broken links.
Â
I would also like to see an audio presentation for the visually impaired users to your site.
What do you think the current version of the site is about?
As the title suggest it is about SEO tool about keyword search using some integrating tools as google analytics, rank checker etc.
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware?
It’s needed some visual help like adding an informative video to convince people that what you offer is really worth to try  and this tool it’s different and it’s better than other keyword tool services.
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be?
I think the best choice would be a 30 day trial but with fully functional program, so the client can see all the features of this service and has plenty of time to get use to it and after that they will more likely willing to pay for further use.
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc.
First of all i think that the name of the site was chosen properly, it indicates the service you provide. Beside that I think that the concept of this website is good, keyword research is something that is very needed this days, it is good that the site has a blog but my opinion is that you should make an account on some popular social site like twitter and put your link there.otherwise the site is easy to navigate and the interface looks good.
What do you think the current version of the site is about?
It appears to be a tool to help you target specific and new keywords that your target audience may be using to look for your (the customer) products and/or service, which will help you with your SEO and rankings.
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware?
Product features and Product pricing comparison with other similar products and companies are always beneficial for people searching.
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be?
I would recommend to offer at least a 15 day trial to make sure your potential customer has enough time to get familiar with the program and have time to give it a try and see results.
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc.
I think the website setup looks clean and easy to navigate. I do see the pricing link at the bottom, but originally was looking at the main menu for pricing. I would add a main menu item for pricing. When you add your free trial, I would make it very noticeable on the home page as well as noted on all other pages.
Â
What do you think the current version of the site is about?
I think that the current version of the site allows a business to determine which keywords and search terms site are driving visitors to their site. I also think that it allows a business to create targeted SEO marketing campaigns to help drive more business to the site. Finally, I think that your software/services make charting, exporting, and importing keywords and search terms manageable and easy.
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware?
I think that your site is well designed and visually appealing – two important components of a good website. However, I think that the overall mission, and message, is lacking. You have some good content in the blue boxes on the homepage, but, for someone unfamiliar with search optimization and such, what you do is unclear. I want to know what you mean when you say “get keywords dataâ€,  and “build amazing reportsâ€. Build amazing reports showing what?  Keyword usage, site traffic, popular terms?? You’ve done a nice job of summarizing each service on the homepage, but I want more. When I click the “about†link at the top, I’m brought to another page that tells me almost the same exact thing as the homepage. You might consider breaking each service up. Add a link at the top that says “Our Servicesâ€, or “Our Productsâ€, and for each major topic (i.e. Integreate with Google Analytics, or Get accurate search volumes and rankings for your keywords) have a separate page.  Explain in greater detail how the customer can achieve that goal. I highly suggest adding in a short video for doing this – 1 minute for each, with voice and animiation. It can be simple, but will help a great deal with comprehension, I’d imagine (for me anyway!).
 Â
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be?
With other products I’ve tried, a standard trial lasts anywhere from 1 week to 1 month. Personally, I believe an ideal trial time is 2 weeks. 1 week seems to short, and if the consumer is busy for that given week, they won’t discover all the capabilities of your products, and this could lead to a missed opportunity. Anything longer than 2 weeks, seems, from a business standpoint, to be offering free services for an unnecessarily long time. You want to turn that lead into a sale!
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc.
As I said before, I think your site has many good points. The design and product overviews are great. There are a few things that I would add, including more content on secondary pages (you don’t want to crown the homepage anymore, it looks good and clean currently) and videos to help with understanding.
I also like your blog, very much. It has great pictures, and seems fun. However, the term “Blog†seems so informal. I’d suggest you change this to “News†– it sounds more professional.Â
I would suggest adding social media icons to your site – social media is everywhere, and you want to show your relevance. Besides, it can help you connect to the largest social network in the world.Â
Also – before signing up and paying for anything, I need to know more about what each plan means. What’s the difference between a plan with 1000 keywords, and one with 5000 key words? I think adding in the videos will help consumers understand the difference here, but until then, signing up for anything makes me nervous!         Also, do you have to pay first to receive the 7 day free trial included in the packages? It seems to me that the 7 day free trial should not be a part of these pricing plans – that should be an entirely separate option for those who want to try it out, without buying anything. Also, define what you mean by small projects – large projects. I thought that your products and services were for an entire business, not simply independent projects.Â
Finally, as you get them, I would add testimonials and current clients as evidence of a happy client base. This will help to add validity to your products, and your business.
You’ve done a nice job with this site – keep up the good work. Thank you for letting us review, and best of luck!
What do you think the current version of the site is about?
When i first visit, I thinking the site is about research for great keyword. U site is simple which is easy to understand. I suggest that u highlight the title of each categories which is integrate google analytic, get search volume and etc. These title should be highlighted so visitor can easily see it and base on the title they can understand what is the site about.
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware?
I migh add a slideshow by showing to the visitor how it works and the process. But the slideshow must design in a professional look and make sure when people first visit ur site they will saw the slideshows. Then i will design the Menu bar in a more attractive and interesting way. Design it in a way that attract visitor to click on it. Then u can show the sign up feature directly in front page which is letting the visitor to enter their email address. This look much more convenient.
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be?
I think it should be at least 2weeks. So that people use it and know how it works and people can judge for the services is good or not.
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc.
The navigation is nice. It’s clear. ur site is simple which is easy to understand. If u add the slideshow which will be perfect. The color u choose i think maybe u can make the color darker. If ur site looks professional people will have more confidence on ur site. U can add a contact us feature in front page at bottom. Which allow people to directly enter the question that they want to ask and send it directly to u. This i convenient and can help u improve ur business.
Beside that, u can u should add some badge about the payment method. Like paypal or any other payment method.
Ur layout does look professional. And ur site is also easy to use.

What do you think the current version of the site is about?
I think that the current version of the site allows a business to find the most suitable keywords to advertise its product or service throughout the internet.Â
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware?
The website is well designed with harmonizable colours and letter which are giving attention that maybe there is some interesting to read.
But the expressions in the blue boxes are not the easiest one to understand. Could not it be explained more understandable for everybody who is not familiar with this expressions?
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be?
I think that after a 30 day free trial period everybody could get a feedback whether your website is useful for their business or not.
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc.
I think that you should much more detailed explained the different levels of sign up and the conditions are not so clear for me with the 7 days free trial period too.
But to see the whole picture, the website seems to be really proficient and well-designed with almost enough information.
What do you think the current version of the site is about?
It seems that you’re trying to make a search term/keyword discovery tool with reporting. By integrating with Adwords/Analytics, you’re making it clear that this is an add-on service to Google’s existing tools, but you believe that the reporting features, keyword discovery, and rank checking exceed the abilities of what Google has to offer, and you’re willing to prove it. By having the “client data”, I can tell you’re also trying to market to SEO/SEM firms who want to use this for their clients, which is a good idea – though SEO/SEM companies have some of their own tools, if this functions as well as you market it, it would be a good one-stop dashboard, reporting tool, etc for that style firm.
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware?
For each of your key features, it would be a great idea to be able to click and get a demo, or click and get an overview of “how” it works, and not just the end result. This makes the information readily available without cluttering the screen. Additionally, a quick “how it works” video below/next to the overview could be useful. It would allow for branding (have one of your developers in a SEOGadget shirt, for example) explain how the product works and why it is worth what you’re asking for. Or even a demo, product showcase, etc would really help sell your services and help reassure potential customers that you are what they’re looking for. On that note, why are there no screen shots of the interface? Part of what is going to sell me on a tool is the UI, and that way you can show off how (I hope) easy to use, robust, polished, etc it is;
Also, there should be a more clear call to action, instead of “view pricing”. Maybe, “Supercharge your search phrases for under $xx/month” or something similar. There just needs to be something on the page that immediately builds value, conveys that you’re the authority, and that you want to actively sell this service.
Finally, it looks like you made an article in your blog on how to use your keyword tools. Awesome! Create a link to that on the home page with the header “How to Get Started” or something similar!
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be?
Most companies will go with 10 to 30 days, and I would agree. For a website owner/operator, aggregating data, researching keywords, and then implementing these keywords to market to search terms will take time. Additionally, there needs to be -some- period of time for it to show results. For the SEO/SEM firms (the extra client reporting features, client management, etc) a shorter period would suffice, say 5 to 10 days. Make sure to market that in the call to action, as well.
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc.
1. CSS – I like the use of the link:hover feature. Why not do something similar for the button on the bottom? Maybe a slightly enlargened arrow, a pop in/out effect, etc.
2. HTML – Each “header” should have an h tag deliniating importance. Right now, all of your header tags are h1. Why not show importance/dominance in the code but then just fix the size through CSS? That allows search engines to determine different levels of keywords and to simulate reading the page.
3. Logo – I’m fine with the Beta, but maybe there should be a roadmap, or link to a roadmap, so potential customers can see everything you have planned. That way, they have something to look forward to. However, the font on your logo is a bit too thin – on my browser, the image looks choppy (firefox 3, Unbuntu Linux, 17″ widescreen display 16:9).
4. Blog/Media/Interaction – It looks like you’re using WordPress for your blog, which is good. I’m fairly sure WordPress has a widget/export that you can use to display blog content on another page. Why not put that on the right side (or somewhere similar) on your website? Dynamic content = less updating while looking more active.
5. Grammar – In your “Pricing…” button, it should be Sign Up, not Signup. Sign up doesn’t seem right, either – Join Now or Get Started seem to have a more active connotation.
6. In “About”, it should have information about your company, not just a regurgitation of your services. You should be able to establish yourself as an authority to potential customers in 0-1 clicks.
7. Testimonials/Case studies?
8. I’m not crazy about the Byline First, company second approach you’ve used with your Meta Header, when combined with a lack of a favicon. There needs to be some branding immediately visible from the browser title bar/tab bar.
9. Finally – in the pricing section, I like that you’ve added the “good for…” indicator, but what about customers that aren’t sure? Is there a way to contact you by phone or via on-site chat so you can help me determine my needs? It’s those little things that help reassure customers that you can not only provide a service, but back it up. And, it will help you sell your services to potential customers who aren’t sure.
Overall, I really like the visual design of the site, and your use of color. It’s very bright, very slick, and the little things like the outline of your logo in the header give a very polished branding indication. However, other little things (mentioned above) detract from the overall level of confidence I’d have searching for SEO/SEM tools. It’s clear you guys really know your stuff when it comes to marketing and consulting; it’s okay to puff out your chest a bit on the brochureware or other landing pages. If anything, it shows your customer an image of the company behind the product.
What do you think the current version of the site is about?
I think the current version of the SEO Gadget is about building great keyword research, so that you can find better more efficient ways to market your business and obtain better PR for your website.
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware?
I think there should be some kind of animation with each grouping of topics listed which would allow the user to see how it works. The description is helpful, but most users would appreciate being able to see the site in action. By just viewing it, it seems that you can only do a search by signing up first. You should allow users to try it out without needing to sign up.
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be?
For the free trial, you should make it last at least 14 – 30 days. This would allow the user to see if using your new keyword tool is actually providing accurate results to them. Any trial period less than that would not be very helpful, because you may not be able to track all the results necessary to see if it is working.
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc.
The navigation needs some work. I found the site to be difficult to find out more information. There is no real direction on the site that tells you where to start. Going straight into pricing and signup is not the best way to portray your site to viewers. As I said before, you need to have a way for users to try out the site first and see how it works. More users will be inclined to signup and start paying for the use of your site, if they already know what they are getting and do not have to guess.

What do you think the current version of the site is about? I think the current version of the site is about the steps in completing the SEOgadget keywords using various procedures. Per the website, the procedures are Google Analytics, Google Adwords, Search engine rankings, categories using data.
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware? I would not add anymore information to this particular page. If you add any more content or rich media I believe you will begin to overcrowd the site.  With the site as it is now, it is very inviting, and it draws  your eyes into the page.
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be? I would not go below a 7 day free trial. This would allow your new client time to figure everything out, get started and to view how well the program works for them. Once they get started and they begin to draw in more clients they will want to keep the program.
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc. I would add a link so if someone click on one of the topics, such as “Integrate with Google Analytics” they can get more information on what that is.  Some people have heard about Google Analytics, and they need to do it, but even reading your description they still may not understand exactly what it is. Maybe even give a few examples of the keywords that you may suggest. Do this with each one of the categories. I believe this shows that you aren’t just wanting to sell, but you care about you clients. You want them to understand what they are purchasing before they do so.
I would not make any changes to your sign up page. Good      job!
With the sign up page, possibly consider adding a secure       payment link or clause. Just to comfort the minds of your clients. People are hesitant about entering in Credit Card numbers, especially if they are in the US and you are abroad.
Very appealing to the eyes though! I wouldn’t suggest making any changes to this page, just adding a Secure Payment Clause or one of those buttons. Maybe the payment processor that you are using will have a payment button one there you can add to your website.
I would not suggest any changes to your Log in page.
Your invite page is very inviting. I wouldn’t make any changes there.
I have a great appreciation for your support page opening up in a new window. This will allow your client to refer back to you website to make sure they are referring to the correct problem. The only thing I would add is a statement instructing the client to type in their question. I would place this statement right under “Community/Overview”. When you first go to the page, you are trying to figure out what exactly you need to do.
Would it be possible to have your blog page open up in a new window? I view your blog as a different part of your website. Also, you may loose a customer if they can’t get right back to where they left off. They may be considering using your service, but just clicking through your website to see what you are about. If they can’t get back to where they are easily, they may move on to another site.

What do you think the current version of the site is about?
It is a keyword research project tool that connects with Google Analytics and gets the information from Google.
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware?
Certainly, I would add some video showing how the program works and what benefits it can provide, or some presentation, tutorial, tips and tricks… any kind of information that may help to make the most of the application.
But what I think that a presentation or tutorial is a must because it seems that the tool is based on Google’s tools. And that makes you wonder why you should be using this applications instead of Google’s webmaster’s tools and, of course, keyword search tools, plus the analytics, reports, etc. It is importantto make people understand why this application provides added value and that it is worth to pay for this extra value.
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be?
Only SEO Marketers could benefit of a 7 day period since they’re doing this every single day. But for small companies, not to mention solo business, 7 days is simply not enough. They will need at 15 days and could benefit of 30 days trial period.
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc.
The navigation is easy but the information is not sufficient on the interior pages. As I said previously, it is just simply that I can’t see why this tool could benefit the customer instead of using Google services directly. The “About” page doesn’t provide any further detail or explanation so it looks like it is there for not particular reason.
Maybe, although I’m not sure of this, one random testimonial could be added there. All testimonials seems to be on the main area, but one could be included in this particular page. The reaon that I’m a bit uncertain is because the design is really good and balanced, and adding too much it would make it look crowded.
In the blog area, those big links to different services should appear in the each service page. It is a bit confusing to have to back to be able to see the information of the next service.
What do you think the current version of the site is about?
Building keyword research to provide better search engine rankings.
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware?
Currently the content and the graphics are crisp and clean. I would add a short simple video or provide a link to a video demonstrating or explaining the positives of using SEOgadget. I would also provide brief, current, written testimonials from clients with examples of success in each area. The testimonials can possibly be integrated with Support/FAQ or have their own section. The FAQ section is very informative but is lacking in general FAQ’s for people to quickly read.
Blog was helpful but cumbersome with the large pictures. Contact phone number is needed.
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be?
The free trial period should be 3 weeks. A shorter time period might not provide information needed to thoroughly assess what your company has to offer. A longer time period might cause procrastination.
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc.
Displaying what people are saying on Twitter is a great idea to provide up to date thoughts and opinions. Providing more user interaction will help keep the user/possible client interested and want to know more about your company and services you provide.
If you are going to market in other countries, provide the prices in that countries currency.
What do you think the current version of the site is about?
I think this is a service that tracks the efficiency of keyword and google searches to help optimize web presence.
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware?
I would give some real-time examples of the service in action with some very common search terms…I clicked on the icons below each of the boxes and they were not active. Â I think you should provide links to pages with examples of each function. Â You should also consider linking to a facebook account so interested parties can interact with satisfied customers, ask questions and check for updates & tips. Â
We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be?
I think you should consider a 7 day trial period. Â I feel that the user will have time to try out the service, see what you have to offer and how it fits their needs.
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc.
I feel like you should give illustrations and real-time examples of your service, Â The “About” page, in my opinion, loses my focus because its long and monotone. Â I would suggest some type of color to visually break up the display of information. Â I also don’t like the fact the FAQ support page appears to be hosted offsite…I would rather see consistent display of information across all pages. Â The logo should remain consistent throughout all pages.
What do you think the current version of the site is about?
Creating words to increase search engine optimization for client website
What content / rich media might you add to the brochureware?
Not everyone that is going to stumble across your website will know or understand the “lingo” of the online world. If you desire to have the novice and the seasoned professional as your clients, consider dumbing down or over-simplifying some of the information. There are a ton of people looking to get into the online world that have none or very little experience. If you can help those people become successful, you can have life long clients and great referral pool.

We are planning a free trial period of X days at signup. How long do you think this period should be?
If you are looking at a specific time period, you should consider the satisfaction time. Every products or service sold has 2 phases (satisfaction and remorse). By offering a free trial period, you may be able to gloss over the buyer’s remorse (in my industry this usually becomes evident within the first 72 hours). If success comes within the free trial, continued patronage is most likely.
Please share any additional thoughts or comments on navigation, interface, usability, etc.
Provide more examples of how each of the benefits will positively assist the client in driving business to their website. For instance, when the potential client clicks on the “Check Search Engine Ranking”, provide a screen shot of what they could expect to see.
