  1. 1) Search for “Setup Society” in Facebook on your desktop (Internet Explorer not supported). Go to the app and allow the various requested permissions. Were you hesitant about giving those permissions, and why?
Giving the first set of permissions to access my information was ok with me. It was the second permission which stated it was going to post for me which kept me hesitant. I was unsure of what was to be posted if I were to use it. I was worried about the privacy issue about attempting to set two people up and it appearing public on their facebook, I feel that information like that should be kept confidential. However, I read your help guide which reassured me that when choosing specific people to set up, it will only appear in their notifications. If you can relay that message during the second permission, then people interested in using the app will be less hesitant to accept.

    2) Once the app has displayed, what is the first thing that you notice and what does it make you think about the app?

The first thing I noticed were the blue writings in the my stats and my achievements sections. As I read through them it seemed very bland and involved a lot of stat tracking. Shorten some of the phrases that are blue and make them personal. Ex: Successful Matching of Friends is easier if it said Friends I Matched and Current Setups would reinforce the person into using your sight more if it said My Setups. Reason being is because people love simplicity and ownership. If a user successfully sets up two of his friends, seeing it under a title of Friends I Matched would provide a higher sense of self gratification because it displays a sense of ownership and its also simple to read.

    3) Without any instruction, please try to figure out the process of getting set up. Was it exactly what you were expecting and if not what were you expecting?
Figuring out the process seemed easy enough, it was simple and well explained. It was very similar to what I expected. You post to your friends wall that you would like to be set up, and if they help you it brings in more people to try the app. Very good idea. However, nothing stands out

    4) How do you rate the intuitiveness of the process is Question 2 and how could it be improved?
Put a focus on the logo, its very classy and appealing to the eye. Maybe try putting it in the middle background. Work on the color coordination for each section. Finally, like i said before, shorten the phrases and make them personal.

    5) Again without instruction, please try the process of setting up a couple of your single friends. Was it exactly what you were expecting and if not what were you expecting?
Yes it was exactly what I expected after answering Question 3.

    6) How do you rate the intuitiveness of the process is Question 5 and how could it be improved?
There is a lot of potential with this section. The app shouldn’t have a request to apply on the post or notification to the friends your setting up, but rather it should have just a link to your app saying something like thank you and if they have friends they would like to set up they should join. I see potential in after a successful setup. The people who were successfully set up will be more willing to give your app a try and set up friends of their own.

    6) Wait 24hours. Did you receive any response or feedback from anyone and why do you think that is?
No I did not receive any feedback or responses, my guess is because this targets a specific audience, people who like to play matchmaker, you will most likely get people who want to match their friends but once they do it. It’s not likely they’ll do it consistently.

  2.
1.Were you hesitant about giving those permissions, and why?

No I was not hesitant about giving this app permission. I am used to having apps on my facebook and already knew i would want to see the app.

    2) Once the app has displayed, what is the first thing that you notice and what does it make you think about the app?

The first thing I noticed about the app was the background. Its all gray with this subtle patchwork texture. With purple writing showcasing the name of the app, the feelng I got from it was this edgy young feel. Kinda like some one who wants to be this motorcycle bad girl type.  The interface to the app seems very simple to use for the novice computer use.

    3) Without any instruction, please try to figure out the process of getting set up. Was it exactly what you were expecting and if not what were you expecting?

The first thing I did was click on the “Get setup” button. A little window popped up telling me that my post was successful. It had three extra buttons for getting more setups, inviting friends, and a home button. I was surprised and delighted by how easy it was. I was expecting to have to fill out some profile and create a bio about myself and interest.

    5) How do you rate the intuitiveness of the process is Question 2 and how could it be improved?

Question number 2 seemed somewhat random. I think that there is nothing that could be improve the question. It was pretty simple just give your first impression of the app.

    4) Again without instruction, please try the process of setting up a couple of your single friends. Was it exactly what you were expecting and if not what were you expecting?

It was not what I was expecting, I thought that I would just pick different friends and set them up with different people on the app. I didn’t know that I would be setting them up with different friends on my friends list, so that was unexpected. I did however like the random friend selectm which made it a little more interesting.

    5) How do you rate the intuitiveness of the process is Question 5 and how could it be improved?

I think that alongside with setting up your friends with others on the list you should be able setup your friends with different people on the app.

    6) Wait 24hours. Did you receive any response or feedback from anyone and why do you think that is?

No I did not, I think the main reason why is because I did not update my profile on the app. I f I add more to and put more setups out there I think I would have got more responses.

  3. I must admit that I was a little skeptical at first when I saw that the activity would be in my friends’Facebook News Feed and on my Timeline.  But after getting started I decided to go ahead and give it a try.  The main reason is I don’t want everyone in my business and then you have those friends who can be quite outspoken and try to put you on “blast” as they call it these days.

Searching for Setup Society was quite easy and I found it without any problems.  Going through the various request was simple and yes a little hesitant as I indicated above.

Once the app was displayed it was quite interesting.  It was visually appealing and pretty straight forward. The first thing I noticed was the stats section, sort of missed the menu bar above.

The first thing I did was click on the Get Setup menu option and was a little surprised that I had to choose from my list of Facebook friends.  I was not expecting that, I thought maybe it would just be a group of other people who signed up with Setup Society.  Nevertheless as I scrolled through my friend’s list I really did not have too many friends that I wanted to ask, seeing as how most of them are single too.

As far as the process I think it is pretty straight forward.  I’ve joined dating websites before and your choices are limitless, with this process you are pretty limited to your facebook friendlist.  Maybe giving the person the option to use their friend’s list and groups they are apart of might broaden the choices some.  Not sure how that can be programmed in.

In trying to setup my friends the process was relatively simple and the same as the get setup process.  you click the icon and your friend’s list comes up and you select the people you want to setup.  It was pretty much what I was expecting after going through the get setup process.  I am not sure that my friends would want me to do that without their permission though.  So I can only assume it sends them notification but still I would not do it without asking first.

The process again is simple, I am thinking a better process might be to give  people the opportunity to join setup society on their own, then you can see who on your friend’s list wants to be setup and perhaps if someone is a member where you have a mutual friend as well.

I did not have any responses after the 24 hour time period however, I got a couple of responses and likes from the post on my timeline.  But not help or setups was received.  I find the concept pretty interesting however.
