  1. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?

I like the homepage. My first impression is that it’s very professional and well designed. I really like the layout. I also like how up at the very top you have the about us, contact us, site map etc. Usually one has to scroll all the way to the bottom and I find it more convenient personally.

When I first arrived there was a chat box that popped up that I found a little annoying as I moved about the site. I did revisit the site a second and third time and didn’t have the same issue, so I may have clicked the chat tap on the right without realizing it. I do like the chat tap there though. It’s in plain site and is easily accessible. I don’t have to hunt all over the place to ask a question.

I also enjoy your color choices. I like that it’s bright and engaging.
    2) Think of something you want to find on this website – An engagement ring. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?

I found it very easy to navigate the site. Everything was very well laid out and easy to follow. I like the dropdown boxes when you scroll over Shanore Collections and Tara’s Diary Collections. I found it very easy to find what I was looking for. I also used the search function and found that that worked very well. On other sites it can come up with weird results, but yours is very straight forward.
    3) Are you encouraged to purchase or make an enquiry ? Can you tell us why (or why not)?

If I were interested and looking for Celtic Jewelry, I would definitely be make a purchase or inquire. I like how you have the Chat Tab on the right once again. It’s very easy and convenient. The payment options are plentiful and the shipping and delivery are very well explained and laid out. It also is a site that overall looks very trustworthy and professional and inspires trust.

I went to https://www.celtic-weddingrings.com. Immediately I liked your sites color much more. It reaches out to me and feels better. Your site feels more like an experience, if that makes sense. Whereas I feel there site is more of a store feel. I don’t care for it as much because all I think about immediately is oh I’m here to spend money. With your site, in my opinion, once again, it’s more engaging in terms of having a pleasant experience. Part of that is the layout and part is there color choice. They went with a very traditional green, which I like, but it really darkens the feel of the site. I like how you lightened it up.

Overall, I really like your site. I think it’s very engaging and trustworthy and professional.  Contacting you is very easy with the chat box and your contact info is easy to find on the first page. Again the shipping and payment information is very straightforward. Overall, your site is very easy to navigate. Overall, I would recommend your site to someone I  knew was searching for Celtic Rings and will certainly keep you in mind.

Thank you and I hope this helps.

  2. 1)      Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
Homepage looks sleek and nice. Only obvious error is the one misspelling of Jewelry at the bottom of the page. Question: Is this misspelled on purpose to pull in search engines of people misspelling the word?
    2)      Think of something you want to find on this website – An engagement ring. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?
I typed “engagement ring” in the search bar. At first it did something weird and populated something odd for 5-10 seconds, then actually changed to engagement ring results. The loading page or whatever I was seeing threw me off, because I was like: “those aren’t engagement rings!”
    3) Are you encouraged to purchase or make an enquiry ? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
I am a male, and really celtic jewelry does not interest me. If my wife asked me to get her something specifically, I might.
    4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service ( celtic wedding rings ) . Compare the two companies. Which one do you prefer? Why?
I only knew to look up “celtic jewelry” and found myself on Shamrockcentral.com. They don’t appear to have a homepage, and get right to their products. I like how you actually have a traditional homepage you can click through. It does more for your brand image. I would rather buy from you, but if they had a comparable product cheaper, I might go with them.
    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
At the bottom of homepage, you have the words:  “Shanore Bridal Jewellery”  The word Jewellery is misspelled here. Please fix immediately
I like how you offer PayPal as a form of payment.
I like your overall look of your homepage and website.

On the “About Us” page, I don’t get why you have the four icons immediately on the page (Shanore products, Tiara’s diary products, Pay Securely, Shipping Info). I feel that these icons are inappropriate for the “About Us” page. They should just be removed from this page.

  3. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
The images on your home page are clear and colourful showing off the jewellery to good effect. I didn’t expect the pop up message asking if I wanted any help and this is a nice feature. There is quite a lot to take in ‘above the fold’ particularly with the drop down navigation menus from the two main collections. I would prefer if these menus showed completely without me having to scroll down the screen. It would also be great if the longer lists of links were alphabetised to help browsing. I was interested to  see the description of your products right at the end of the homepage and perhaps this information is more appropirate on your About Us page ? It would be good to have an introductory sentence at the top of the page by way of an introduction. I liked the amount of white space on the page and also the clearly laid out boxes linking to products, payment, and shipping information. I was surprised to see the pay securely information listed twice right next to each other.

    2) Think of something you want to find on this website – An engagement ring. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?
I decided to search for Cladddagh rings. The search box was where I expected it to be and I typed in my keywords. This brought up a lovely clear result page with links that were easily clickable. I found the photographs really attractive and the page included plenty of white space which allowed me to browse easily. I then tried searching for an engagement ring and this also brought up a clear page of results with great photos of the rings. I clicked on one of the images as I expected this would bring up more details which it did. The zoom function was great for seeing closer detail of the ring. I could see the price however I wasn’t sure if this was in American dollars or a different currency. For me ordering online from New Zealand, it would be good to see several different options for the currencies viewed. Until I clicked on the shipping information I thought this site was based in Ireland (due to the Ireland address mentioned in the contact information), however the mention of Fedex in the shipping details confused me and makes me think that it is an American site.

    3) Are you encouraged to purchase or make an enquiry ? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
Yes I am encouraged to make a purchase due to the very attractive jewellery and although the pieces are not cheap they look as if they are good quality. It would be easy for me to make an enquiry if there was anything I wanted to ask. It would be helpful to see some testimonials / reviews from people who have bought the jewellery.

    4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service ( celtic wedding rings ) . Compare the two companies. Which one do you prefer? Why?
I went to https://www.sheilafleet.com which I found quite appealing, I particularly like the different angles the rings are photographed on. Also the multiple searching boxes at the top of the page allows easier filtering for searches. I also liked the option to select different metals when the detailed view of a ring is shown. It is also a nice touch to see the person who has designed the jewellery. The suggestions of other jewellery to match the selected ring is a good idea to provide some further rings to view. Overall I prefer the Sheila Fleet site due to slightly less information on the homepage which allows easier browsing. I also like the way the pages of results include some small and some larger photos of the rings. It seems to make it easier to view the different styles because they appear a little differently and shows the rings to good advantage.

    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
The load time of your site is a little slow, however there are lots of images so this is not unexpected. Overall I like your site, it just requires a little less information on the homepage to avoid so much scrolling. Also the images of the jewellery might benefit from being photographed from some different angles.

  4.
With this website you have the amazing advantage of using attractive & shiny jewels and metals wherever you want.  Seize this opportunity as much as possible!

    ——————–
    1 – Home/Front Page
    ——————–
When hovering over “Shanore Collections” and “Tara’s Diary Collections” the drop-down screens offer an overwhelming amount of information.  It takes time to read, but it takes a lot less time to look.  Including an icon next to each selection in these drop-downs will not only serve the purpose of giving a taste of what you have to offer, it will also educate the visitor if they don’t know what something is.
In fact, if you really wanted to improve this website, it might or might not be a simple task, but instead of forcing your visitors to only browse one collection at a time, make drop-downs which users can click on to expand and collapse each collection.  Each section would be accessible at once by doing this.  This way, if a customer wanted to compare two items in different collections, they could easily do so from one central page instead of opening multiple instances of the web page.  This would also potentially reduce bandwidth of the site per visitor.

    Chat pop-up:
The chat pop up happens too soon on the home page. Visitors are still in the process of discovering what the site has to offer.  Many websites make this mistake.
    Text at bottom:
The front page has way too much text at the bottom.
Two of the links at the bottom of the home page link to the exact same page you are currently viewing.  This is completely unnecessary and likely costing you extra bandwidth fees.
Also, the link for “Celtic Bridal Jewelry” in this section at the bottom of the home page is not correct and links to the “Celtic Wedding Rings” page.
After fixing this, replace the remaining text with preview icons next to the links to reduce the wordiness as much as possible.
    Top bar:
If the bar at the top including links to “Home” “About Us” and “Contact Us” among others, were to stick to the top of the viewers window, then the additional links to these parts of the site would not serve any purpose being repeated elsewhere.  The visitor would always have them in clear sight.
Also, the gradient graphic at the top of the website is not wide enough for 1080P and above displays.  This is the norm on a lof of computers, especially the ones used by your target market.  I doubt the bandwidth cost of such a small image would make a difference, but if it is indeed a concern, I would recommend simply using a solid color instead.
    Shopping bag:
Next to “your shopping bag” is a picture of a cart.  I like the bag idea because it sounds more relaxed, but if you aren’t going to say “cart” don’t show a picture of one.

The favors and gifts section ( http://www.shanore.com/favors-and-gifts.htm ) is incomplete.

    —————————-
2 – Ease of finding items
    —————————-
Overall it isn’t “tough” to find what I’m looking for, but it’s tough to know it’s my favorite due to the difficulty of going back and forth between many pages as I stated above.

    ————————
    3 – Interest in buying
    ————————
Ultimately, the purchase is going to be made on the quality of the product.  You do successfully display your products effectively and give any interested customer interest in buying by doing this well.  Offering a 3D view of your items would definitely improve the attractiveness of your items though because it would allow you to seize more of the opportunity of displaying the shine and beauty of the diamonds and gemstones.

    ————————————–
4 – Comparison to competitor site
    ————————————–
I went to https://www.celtic-weddingrings.com and immediately your website appeared far more attractive in comparison.  I worry you may be trying to imitate some of their features, but their first impression was pretty poor in comparison.  The layout of their website is unorganized and overwhelms the visitor with way too much information and way too many choices.  They use small images on their home page and don’t seize the opportunity to show large, attractive, shiny pictures of their products.  You do this quite well in comparison.  Congratulations.

    5 – Additional Feedback:
    —————————-

    Single Item Description Pages:
After you’ve made your way to a specific item to view, the layout is fantastic.  This is the section of the site needing the least attention in my opinion.  The ability to mouse over an image and see the zoomed in section you are mousing over is great.  Amazon.com is a gargantuan online entity and uses the same thing.  I did mention the possibility of having 3D views above though, and this is where they would be best to go, but with or without that feature, these pages seem well done and not needing any other improvement.

Hope this feedback helps you out!  Have a great day and good luck with your website!

  5. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?

The first thing I noticed were the two collections being displayed. It’s obvious that this is a website for jewelry (specifically, Celtic). I was really drawn in by the colors and layout–it’s not too much and the colors are  easy on the eyes. It makes for a pretty friendly homepage.

    2) Think of something you want to find on this website – An engagement ring. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?

It was pretty easy to find an engagement ring. It’s clearly marked where the bridal collection is. Once I hovered the pointer over the section, the first thing I saw was the list of engagement rings. I clicked on the first subheading, “Celtic Engagement Rings”, and it took me right to a list of rings with prices and pictures. After clicking on a ring, it came up to the info page for buying. Simple to navigate–it had all the information I needed on the ring, clear options for choosing a size, and a nice large button so I knew how to buy it. 🙂

There wasn’t any confusion, but I think it may be beneficial to have an option  that could narrow the search even further, perhaps by price or metal type or color or style (or all of the above).

    3) Are you encouraged to purchase or make an enquiry ? Can you tell us why (or why not)?

I would definitely make an enquiry. Having the  options of other rings is nice–there is even an option for Valentine’s Day. Which would’ve been nice to have looked at a few weeks ago. 🙂 I also like the available styles in the collections. They are things that I would buy for my girlfriend, even though she isn’t necessarily Irish.

    4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service ( celtic wedding rings ) . Compare the two companies. Which one do you prefer? Why?

I did a google search for “celtic wedding rings” and the first on the list was Glencara.com. Comparing the two for first impressions, Shanore is much cleaner. The green background of Glencara is nice, but it seems to throw “Celtic” at me. It also seems very cluttered. Shanore is crisp and quick to navigate about. The simplicity is nicely balanced with the showing of the merchandise. I definitely prefer Shanore, because it seems much more professional.

    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.

The chat help is nice. It popped up right away in case I needed to submit a question. And it didn’t nag me the whole time. I knew it was there and I could quickly access it if I needed it.

The tab description of “jewellers / jewellery” did throw me off, because of the British spelling. Some site visitors may think it to be a typo. But it makes sense, since this is a distinctly Celtic site. 🙂

  6. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
MY first impression was that it looked well done which may be easier for you because you use pictures of jewelry  , but overall it is appealing  mostly to females it seems because of the color scheme but males would still like it.
    2) Think of something you want to find on this website – An engagement ring. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing? it was easy to find and wasn’t confusing
    3) Are you encouraged to purchase or make an enquiry ? Can you tell us why (or why not)? i would buy maybe a ring or two because they were presented well and i enjoyed looking through the pictures
    4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service ( celtic wedding rings ) . Compare the two companies. Which one do you prefer? Why? I like the style of your website better
    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have. on the bottom you have some lower case “j”s and some upper case. is this on purpose?

    3) Are you encouraged to purchase or make an enquiry ? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
     – No because I’m not really sure that my payment is secured. I see also the payment process images is looks like a normal image. I prefer to purchase an item through the web that uses secure connection like https.
    4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service ( celtic wedding rings ) . Compare the two companies. Which one do you prefer? Why?
    – prefer the site I’ve visited because I see the directly what they are offering. I can also quick links to the different categories of their product. Another thing also is they are verified security.
    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
     – The site is good to sum it up but I have some recommendations based on what I’ve observed in eCommerce sites. The navigation is not that obvious my attention is dragged in to picture. But the picture doesn’t encourage me to buy the product. May you can a button that redirects to your products. Your buttons also is not emphasized.

  8.  1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?My initial impression is that it looks cool website where I can buy handicraft jewelry. It has many designs and the homepage is very attractive. It makes me go and explore more of this website.
