1) Did the look and feel of the homepage leave you wondering what the service does?
Yes. At first, I was wondering what is the service offered. I though about calls, since it’s one of the first words that popped, while reading.
Even after reading the second sentence, it’s not very clear for me.
After reading second time both sentences, I understand that it’s a shared system for schedules and change of data for restaurants.
2) Is there too much/not enough text on homepage?
I think it’s enough text on the homepage More text would be too much for the homepage. Unless the text changes with different information.
3) Is the signup call to action fairly obvious?
Yes, once you look on the page after contact. It could be a bit bigger than the rest of the contact details.
4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
I think I would prefer the one found with the search engine (found hotschedules). The website looks a bit more elegant and the text on the first page is more comprehensive and clear as to what services they are offering.

Homepage text can be changed a bit, thus that it clearly explains what is the service offered.
Perhaps some questions similar to this: “Searching for a great restaurant staff schedule software? Look no further!”
Perhaps some changing of the colors used. It would look a lot better with more vivid colors (not extreme though).
The contact email address is blue on blue. It’s hard to see it and it’s a bit tiring for the eyes. A different color would help.
1) Did the look and feel of the homepage leave you wondering what the service does?
Yes it did. I thought from the home page that this site was for record keeping. I had to click on “Learn More” to realize that really it is for scheduling.
2) Is there too much/not enough text on homepage?
I believe there is not enough text on the homepage. I really did not see enough information on the home page to understand what services are provided. I would add some of the descriptions to the home page that you have on the “Learn More” page.
3) Is the signup call to action fairly obvious?
Yes it is quite obvious. I like that it is very easy to sign up, just entering an email address to get started.
4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
I compared the site. https://www.schedulefly.com .
Well, the home pages on both are very similar and I also had to click on a different page to get a better understanding of what services they provide. I liked that they have a nice screenshot of what the schedule looks like on their “Learn More” page. But I absolutely loved your prices compared to theirs.

I really was quite pleased to see that there is a 15 day trial, a 60 day money back guarantee and no contracts. All of this is quite appealing to me and I would certainly sign up for this.
1) Did the look and feel of the homepage leave you wondering what the service does?
Yes it did. The homepage only gave me a slight idea that it’s time/record keeping service.
After browsing more of the homepage, I think the page doesn’t really highlight that it’s service is meant for restaurants. Or that it’s a “Restaurant Scheduling Software”.
2) Is there too much/not enough text on homepage?
I think there isn’t enough text. While I was looking at the homepage I felt like there isn’t much info provided or that the page is unfinished.
When I visit a site, I usually expect to find the key features at the homepage, especially if it’s an app. Maybe if the line “No More Calls About The Schedule. No More Overtime. Fantastic Record Keeping.” was further explained/expanded on, the homepage will be a lot more informative.
3) Is the signup call to action fairly obvious?
The green button is eye-catching but I thought “Lets do this” meant it was a contact form.
4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
So I landed on https://www.shiftplanning.com/
I prefer ShiftPlanning. It is a lot more credible/professional looking. Looking at their homepage, I was able to get a quick and clear idea of their services. They even have a preview of the software which is a big big plus.

The homepage isn’t really appealing to me. The colors/layout is too simple making the page look unprofessional.
Also at the homepage, I found the line “Thousands at restaurants like these…” confusing. I was wondering which restaurants it was referring to and then I saw the logos. It might be better if they were grouped together in a section.
I feel like the site doesn’t highlight enough of it’s software. The video is a nice touch but it would be really nice if there was a demo or more images/screenshots of what the product looks like.
All in all, I think ShiftZen is a useful app but the site doesn’t showcase it enough. Tweaking the colors/layout and especially the provided info/text will definitely improve it a lot.
