Socioclean.com is a site that monitors your incoming posts and other aspects, which come from your visitors on your Facebook account. It does not invade personal information, such as private messages. It just monitors messages that can appear on your main board, which could do harm to your reputation. It is the user’s responsibility, however, to remove the posts. Socioclean leaves this to the discretion of the account owner.

What do you find bothersome? What do you like?

I like this site very much. I think it is a wonderful idea. However, one thing that bothers me, in fact it is a pet peeve of mine, is that the “contact us” does not include a telephone number. Just having an email support address is not very comforting when you are having a problem that you need help with.
What do you think of the sign up process?

The sign up process is quick and easy. No hassles. I like that.
Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?

I would sign up for a free account if I was in need of one. At the moment my participation is not heavy on Facebook.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?

It is a little above others. I like the clean, neat logo and simple colors on the site. Crisp and clean.

Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.

It is very comforting to know that you can rely on a site such as yours to monitor what is posted on your account when you are away.  Thanks!

  2. Visit https://www.socioclean.com Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
Socioclean’s homepage says it is to scan, clean and secure social networks
Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
I like the colors used, and I like the visuals on the homepage are nice, like the social logos in the washing machine, works well.

In the “About Us” page there is a grey box with a paragraph that needs to be re-written, because there are grammatical mistakes, starting with “Socioclean’s unique service…   then…   Through Socioclean, platform users are… (or remove the word ‘platform’ altogether)

What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
I was reading the blog, which is a good fit with your site, but again the grammatical errors need to be corrected to look professional.  New users want to think the services are top notch and they are getting their money’s worth.  I would either hire someone to edit your website and blog for grammatical errors, or find someone who will do this for you.  I could tell by reading the blog that the author is not from America.  And the blog author signed his name, and it is Indian.  Most people will not have a problem with this as long as the English is correct (meaning you need to fix the grammatical errors)
What do you think of the sign up process?
I submitted an email and password and received an email back.  I tried logging into socioclean at the link provided (a green back ground login screen) and then it said it needed to connect to my facebook account.  Socioclean is then asking permission to have access to all of my account information.  I honestly do not trust this service to just have access to my information and accounts.  It is hard to trust a service that does not look professional.

Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?
I went through the process of signing up but I do not like giving access to all of my information and accounts.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?
The homepage to Socioclean looks professional, but the login screen and beyond do not and I am skeptical about using this service.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
I really wish there was a way that your service could initially take the user’s facebook and give suggestions to improve their profile without granting access over to you.  It is hard to trust a service/website that you do not know.  Second, I would highly recommend fixing the grammatical errors on your professional site on the About Us tab and the grammatical errors on your blog.

  3. Visit https://www.socioclean.com Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?

It’s a service that provides monitoring for a person’s social networks.  It’s all about protecting a person’s reputation.  It scans things such as messages and photos.  It only scans or monitors things that others can see.

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.  What do you find bothersome? What do you like?

I signed up for an account.  It sent me an e-mail with a link that I need to click on in order to finish signing up for my account.  When I clicked the link, it asked me to connect to my facebook account.  I don’t have a facebook account so I am unable to sign up for your service.

On the home page of the site, it has logo’s of different social sites such as twitter, facebook, etc.  but yet you have to have facebook in order to use this service.  I would have never known by looking at the home page and logo’s that I would have to have facebook.  I would think that any social networks would work.  After all, the home page states “Connect to all major social networks including Facebook, Twitter and Myspace to safeguard your publicly available information.” but thats not the case.  I think the site should state only facebook users can use this service.

I do like the page layout and colors of the site.  I think “FaQ” is very helpful.

What do you think of the sign up process?

The sign up process is easy.  I like the fact that you send an e-mail to the e-mail address to be verified.  I think that’s important since the service is based on people’s private and personal social life.

Again, I do not like the fact that a person has to have facebook in order to sign up for this service especially since it advertises a number of social networks.

Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?

No, I could not use this service.  I am connected to a number of social services listed but facebook is not one of them.

How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?

I think this site is a great idea and I can see it being very useful to a lot of people.  I cannot tell you how it compares to other competitors since this is the first time I have seen a service such as yours.

If there is or will be others competitors that provide the same service but allows the clients to sign up through other social networks, then you might end up losing clients or losing possible future clients.

Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.

I think this site a good idea and I think this site could become really popular if you don’t limit it to signing up with only facebook.  I know that in this review I have stressed a lot on the sign in facebook bit, but thats because that is going to be a deal breaker with a lot of people when considering using your service.  I was looking forward to using your service and also having my teenage kids use it but again, we can’t due to not having facebook.  I think when signing up you should give the client a choice in what network they want to use to sign in with and not just limit it to facebook.  If you choose to stick with signing up with only using facebook, then I think you need to state it on the home page.

If your sites becomes really popular and you change the sign up process with just facebook, you might be able to partner up with these social networks and they can offer your service to their clients.

  4. Visit https://www.socioclean.com Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?

I really like the layout and the colors that are used. It isn’t cluttered and has plenty of info on the homepage. I like the site.

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.

I like how you have an “about us” section. I think this section is very important for any website. I like how you stated why you founded this website. Maybe, you can go into a little more detail on this page and explain it a little better.

I also like the FAQ section. It answers a lot of questions that a person may still have. I also like how the answers are short and to the point. this lets a person go over the questions and understand the process before actually signing up.

The blog is a great touch as well. A lot of sites have blogs now and I think it is a great idea. Hopefully you keep up on the blog and keep adding entries or the blog would be pointless for the site.

What do you find bothersome? What do you like?

I don’t like how you have the news feed in the sign up area. If someone doesn’t want to sign up, they are not going to be able to read the news feed and the headlines. I think this needs to be on the homepage or another page where people will know it is there.

I also don’t like how if you press login, it takes you to another layout page all in general. The colors don’t go with your website at all. The only reason why I knew I was still on your site was because it said Socioclean on the top left. You need to make the login page the same as the rest of your website.

I like the about us, FAQ, and the layout of the page as I mentioned above in the other question.

What do you think of the sign up process?

The sign up process seems pretty easy. Just put in my email and get a link to finish the process. I don’t think you can get any easier than this.
The only part I don’t like is that you have to be granted access to my facebook account. I don’t like to grant access like that to my facebook account.

Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?

I think I would give it a try. You hear so many stories about how work places and other people are finding out information about you on the internet. It is worth trying it out to see if I like it.

How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?

I am not aware of other sites that offer this concept but I think it is a good idea. There are tons of people out there that are concerned if the info they have on their facebook or other social media is inappropriate or not.

Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.

Add a phone number where people can contact you instead of an email. It is more comforting to know that there is a number that you can be reached at and not just an email.

  5. Visit https://www.socioclean.com Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
It looks like the site has to do with protecting your websites like facebook and myspace. The site will either keep the profile safe from things or it may help keep ones computer safe from things that happen on their social networking site.
Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
I enjoyed looking at this website; the colors fit perfectly together. The colors are not to much, they are very easy on the eyes, however they also caught my eye and made me want to look at the site longer. This site is very simpe and organized everything is put into categories on the tabs either at the top or bottom of the page. Their is not random information just sitting in the middle of the page.

What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
I didn’t really find anything that i thought was bothersome. The only thing i could find was i thought they could explain the reason for this site a bit more specifically for everybody else to be able to understand what this site is really about.
What do you think of the sign up process?
The sign up process is extremely simple. All you must do is enter a few simple things like your email and passwords. It is even easier than signing up for most websites. Other websites always ask for more personal information about you whereas this site the sign up literally take thrity seconds, if even that.
Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?
I would sign up for a free trail if I were worried about losing my job because of what I post on facebook. It seems like an excelent way to help people out with life when they let something slip not knowing it could actually harm them in the future with either school or a job. I am somebody who watches what the have on their facebook so it wouldn’t really be necessary for me to use this site at the moment.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?
I have never seen another site like this so it makes it very good. Must people would want to use this site in a heartbeat but since their aren’t very many sites like this it makes it easier for this site to get loads of people using this one in order to protect their life with academics, sports, and/or current and future jobs.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.

  6. ·  Visit https://www.socioclean.com Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
    ·  The website is to scan, clean and secure your social networks. I also liked that it piqued my interest to find out more about this site
    ·  Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
    ·  I like how any questions that I might have concerning this site is at my fingertips.  I do not have to look for anything.  The FAQ’s and the About us tabs tells the potential user everything that they will need to know about this website.  I also think that the “Try it free” is in a good spot that the potential user will see it right away and might entice them to sign up.
    ·  What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
    ·  I like the fact that you include a blog within the site, but I had issues reading it.  Some of the sentence I have to reread to understand the meaning.  I think rereading the blog, the writer will see what I mean! I also like the color of the site and I think that the bubbles make a great touch with the name.  I also think that the News on the signup page should be moved.  If someone is going to sign up, they will probably not read this information.  This is something that you want the reader to see and hopefully have make the decision on whether to utilize your services or not
    ·  What do you think of the sign up process?
    ·  The signup process is fairly easy. The part I do not like is giving them access to my accounts.  This is something that should be not be given out.  Sorry, but with all the hacking of accounts and identity theft, someone should not have to access to any type of accounts that are not theirs.
    ·  Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?
    ·  I would probably not use the site.  For me, there is nothing on my facebook or any other site that would get me in trouble with my employer.  My facebook  is only family pictures and do not even talk about work related things. However, for some people this is a great idea because of the topics that they discuss or comment about co-workers and the manager team that might not be nice!
    ·  How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?
    ·  I am really not aware of any other sites that provide these services.  I do think this is a great site for some.
    ·  Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
    ·  Like I mentioned above, I think this will be a great site for some that use the social network to talk bad about people they work with.  I just not sure if I like the idea of giving access to personal accounts.  Some people might feel the same way

  7. Visit https://www.socioclean.com Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
I think the site is about protecting a person’s identity or personal information when communicating using social media.

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
At first glance, I like the name chosen for this site and for what it does. I like the colors, the look and the funny washing machine idea washing all social networks. I thought that was a great idea, funny and creative.
Overall, the site is clean looking, not cluttered or disorganized and it does not look amateur. It is trendy looking enough to be used alongside social networks.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
I don’t find anything bothersome. I would just recommend adding more information in the “about us” section such as the founders and who came up with the idea and why just to give users a more personal touch with the site and its service. It helps users feel more at ease and would be more inclined to use a service knowing who the people behind are.
I would recommend having a “demo” video next to “try it free” or quick little shot at how it works before asking people to “try it”. Some people are more encouraged to try something even if it’s free after they actually see how it works.
What do you think of the sign up process?
First, I’d like to say I like the “news” box. I think it’s a great idea, but, also add news on other networks and I would actually suggest having a flash banner with news on the front page for users to see and know immediately the benefits of sociaclean.
The sign up process was very easy, however, the instructions in the email were confusing. For example, when I signed up I entered my email and chosen password. But, when I received the activation email I was instructed to use my email as username and enter an  activation ID assigned by the site. However, when I clicked on the given link and followed those instructions I was told it was invalid information. So, I then tried my email again and my original password and it worked. I suggest fixing the instructions to avoid signing up confusion.
Once I signed up I was confused as to why I had to keep typing in current password, new password, confirm password. I also did not understand how to add other social networks besides facebook.

Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?
I would if I had a lot of contacts which I would then want to monitor my account, but, at the moment I don’t really have the need to keep my facebook clean. Although, I found the sign up easy once I tried it I wasn’t very impressed by how it works. I found it very limited, not very much was offered and I was still confused how I can connect with other social networks. Much about the process once I was logged in was not quite clear, for example, when I clicked on “profile” to go to my profile and see it I was taken back to that same box that asked for current password, new password, confirm new password, which is confusing. I actually forgot which passwords I used it asked me so many times.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?
I haven’t seen any services such as sociaclean so I think it is a great concept and idea to sell. It’s innovative, creative and unique.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
I would add videos or a step by step demo how this service works because after the sign up process using Sociaclean became confusing. Not much else was offered and it left me wondering how to connect with other networks.
Also, I would would add a “help needed?” link once signed in for those who are having a hard time using it or having problems with the site. There was no help offered once signed in.
Eventually you will want to add “testimonials” or what people have to say about SociaClean.

  8. ·Visit https://www.socioclean.com Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?

This website is about being able to protect your social networking content.
Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
The site at first glance is fun, vibrant and just well put together. I like like the play on colors with the blue (water, clean and pure) and the bubbles also give the feeling of something clean. I like the how the companies logo looks like it’s inside of a wash machine door. That was a nice subtle touch, without getting to cheesy with it. I like how short the page is meaning you have put your info straight to the point. There was no need to search all over the page to figure out what your service is.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
I did not find anything bothersome about the sites home page. As I mentioned before I really like the simple layout and color usage. The “faqs” page is fine, it’s simple  and easy to follow. The “about us” page needs more information. When was it founded and by who. It’s seems so vague that people may not feel as secure. With so many scammers having a detailed “about us” page may make consumers feel more secure. You have to remember you want to protect people so you should go out your way to give information. The “try it free” page is the only page thought the layout was not attention grabbing. There is a big space at the top right of the page but then you have all this great info to the left in a box. This box you have is the meat and potatoes of why you want people to sign up. I would definitely revamp this page.  I don’t like the “please” inside the sign up box it’s sound desparate. Lastly a how to video is always good, as long as it’s short and simple.
What do you think of the sign up process?

The process was fine as far you only asked basic information. What I found confusing was when I checked my e-mail I was given and activation ID and upon clicking the page it didn’t work. I just used my password I signed up with and it worked fine. Then I was told I need to access my account through facebook. I personally don’t have a facebook account so then I would need to sign up for one. I found that troublesome.
Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?

I would sign up for this service if there was a lot of traffic. I’m still not quite sure how this service works in reference to other social networking sights. Also when I clicked on my profile page I was taken to a page asking to do a password change. I don’t understand that process especially when I entered a password on the sign up page.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?

I’m not aware of any other business providing this type of service so I am unable to compare.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.

Again I would revamp some of the page, add a how to video and clean up the sign up process.

  9. @zeke2100 – Thank you for the helpful feedback.  You brought up some valid concerns regarding how socioclean works. I hope my response below helps ease some of your concerns.
To access your accounts we actually leverage the facebook functionality “Flink” (Facebook connect) – Flink is a facebook supported and approved feature for 3rd party applications to access account information to enable the use of their service. Similar functionality is available for other social networking sites as well, commonly used for apps, games and other web 2.0 related programs (i.e. Farmville, texas hold’em).
Also socioclean does not store any account information what so ever. But we understand your POV and we may have to better highlight this information during the connection process.
Again we at socioclean are against the “big brother” method employed by similar services – we only manage the connection behind scenes but the actual service is self-governed so only you – the user sees the results of the scan. You run the scan, we provide the analytics (i.e. trends, illicit words) and you make the necessary cleansing updates to your profile. Your data is your property and we do everything to make sure the scan is carried out in the most secure and safe way.

  10. @Sierra12346 – First thank you for taking the time to review and provide feedback on socioclean.
We’ve initially rolled out the service only on facebook because facebook houses the largest number of social media users on the web – it also give us a good platform to work out any kinks/issues before we roll out to the other social networking sites. We plan to rollout functionality for twitter next, followed by MySpace – the launch date for twitter users is the first week of Jan 2011.

  12. Lyndzeb
We are currently updating the “about us” section to provide an additional leave about the detail. Also you are 100% right about the location of the news feed – we are currently updating the site so the news feed is visible before the sign-up page.

We’ll also try to post more real-life work stories of social media mishaps on the website – we currently post them regularly on twitter. Great feedback! Thank you!

  13. kybocskay – thanks for the great feedback – we should have more detail on our about us page pretty soon. For more updates and detailed information on social media, please follow-us on twitter (socioclean).

  14. Thanks for the feedback Orchid7! You hit the nail on the head – we are currently working on a video to better explain the concept and also provide a walk-through. The video should be up early Jan. Thanks!

  15. Latasha – great suggestions. I’m not sure why the activation email didn’t work – we’ll have the technology team look in to it right away.

  16. Thanks Shae! – The phone number on the contact page is something we may need to re-visit.

During the creation and go-live of the site we didn’t see a need for the phone number but the traffic over the past month has increased (1000 + registered users) tremendously and it may be time for us to post a phone number to better support our users

  17. I’m glad to hear that.  When you start twitter, I will be joining.  I think your service is going to be very useful for me and my teenagers.

  18. Visit https://www.socioclean.com Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
It looks like it is to help maintain information put on all social network sites. Making sure you don’t put out too much information that could harm how perspective employers may see you.

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
I like that it helps maintain what you put on your sites also that it analysis what you have so you don’t share too much information. I don’t like that it seems controlling
What do you think of the sign up process?
It seems easy to sign up for, pretty basic.
Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?
Possibly if I wanted to make sure my profiles were appropriate for a job I may be applying for.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?
I have not seen anything like it before
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
It’s an excellent idea as long as it doesn’t take away your personal individuality

No need for Team AND About Us to be in Nav Menu. Boil it down to one tab. The color scheme and overall branding reflects your startup’s purpose beautifully.

What do you think of the sign up process?

Like I said, I wouldn’t sign up unless I knew more about what I’m signing up for.

Same answer. Need to word your Q’s better.

How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?

I don’t know of any competition. You should list competition when asking for feedback.

Visit https://www.socioclean.com Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
The site appears to be a program geared toward evaluation of subject matter of profiles on social networks to produce a refined version of the original profile.

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site. What do you find bothersome?
Upon first glance, a person could mistake the program to be a virus scan. Also, the banner “Understand and Protect your Social Reputation” may make patrons feel they don’t need the program if their profile does not contain explicit material.

    What do you like?
I liked the exposure of the importance of being cautious of the content displayed on social networks and the consequences of negligence to do so (possible job loss and deterioration in reputation/social class).

What do you think of the sign up process?
I like that the signup process is quick, consisting of only 3 steps, and doesn’t require personal information such as full name and place of residence.

Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?
I honestly don’t think I need the program; my page doesn’t contain inappropriate matter (to my knowledge).

How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?
There’s competition? This program is quite unique to me; I’m unaware of any similar services being offered.

Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
I suggest the site include information on how the program can be beneficial to people like myself who feel they do not need its services because of absence of inappropriate content by providing information on and examples of content that can be offensive unbeknownst to the owner of the profile.

  22. I found the use of that much bright blue distracted from the site. Also, it would help to write somewhere exactly what is supposed to happen. I did like the graphical layout, but with a different color scheme that might affect this. I take care of my social networks already so it wouldn’t be something I would use.

  23. Visit https://www.socioclean.com Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?

Socioclean is all about protecting your social networks like Facebook, MySpace and Twitter according to my first glance at the site. It acts as a monitor to keep those who might wish to harm your account and/or reputation on the site. Since it is just a monitor and it alerts you to potential threats you do have the final decision about removing potentially threatening posts or whatever else Socioclean catches.
Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site. What do you find bothersome? What do you like?

It is free. That is a big plus for those using social networking. I can appreciate the need for such a service due to the hacking, spamming and other harmful things being sent around on various social networking sites. Everything appears to be very clear about what this service does and it is very easy to navigate and gather information about them. I really did not find anything too bothersome. There is a valid address and a contact email, which in today’s world is acceptable. I see no real need for a phone contact number even though it might be wise to provide it for further validity.
What do you think of the sign up process?
The sign up process is easy and quick which is perfect for those of us that like things easy.

Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?

I use Facebook and Twitter quite a bit and am likely to sign up to protect my accounts. I can usually spot a problem on my own, but extra protection these days is a good thing. I feel it would be more efficient for my accounts. I do know that no matter how good you are at maintaining and utilizing proper privacy settings on these accounts, there are still those that can get in there.

How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?

The sign up is easier and faster, the site is easy to read and understand and I think the overall feel and content makes you feel good about the service.

Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.

I appreciate developers that care enough to offer such a great service for monitoring social networks. Thank you Socioclean!

  24. Visit https://www.socioclean.com Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
My initial thought was that you had another virus scanning product.  It required more then the 10 seconds to realize this product was for social networking.

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
I really like the use of color and the layout of the site.  It is very calming and uncluttered.
There needs to be more detailed infomation regarding what you are providing.  The description below the sign up box felt like they needed to lead to a little more information.  I was interested in seeing what information was going to be provided, and was disapointed when it was not a link to another information page.

What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
I didn’t care for the news during the sign up process.  It was an instant distraction from what I had initially focused on doing.  Love the continuation of the peaceful colors and content throughout the site.
What do you think of the sign up process?
The sign up process was simple and typical of many.
Would you sign up for a free trial/free account? If not, why?
I like the product you are offering, but in a world with so many scams I would like to see more detailed information before signing up for the free trial.
How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors?
I do like the site from a useful and visual standpoint.  I think the product is a good product to offer and could become a very needed product as time goes on.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have
Great simplification of use for the site, but need a little more detail and information that will calm concerns.  You are offering a product to people that you are hoping are concerned for their internet safety, so your clientel is immediately a group of people that are onguard.  I would believe if you direct information toward calming any concerns about giving information to your company, then this would lead to immediate trust in your product also.

  25. Socioclean was found to keep social reputation clean in this growing world of social networking.   That is from your website.  What does that mean?  Are you trying to say:  Socioclean was founded to keep social reputations clean in this growing world of social networking.   Is that what you want to say?

Or:  Socioclean was developed to keep social reputations clean in this growing world of social networking.

What you say on your site does not make sense.
