  1. Visit https://www.sockemtome.com. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
Easily understandable, a subscription sock purchase site.

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
The home page is great.  Straight and to the point.  The process is explained, payment options, subscription options. Very nice.  Your tabs at the top are great to immediately get further information.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
Initially, the only thing I find bothersome is the fact that on the home page you are not aware that your offers are for a basic general country location.  I think it may be helpful to visitors to know that in certain areas, the shipping is included in the price, however, for shipping to other world locations you must email for price.  I really like the straightforwardness of the site.  The info is there, easy to find and you seem to answer questions that your target customers would ask.  This is a great plus as you are targeting the consumer who doesn’t have time to shop, mate or mess with sock purchasing.
    Is the buying process straightforward?
    Most definitely.
Would you buy a trial (one-off sample) if given a $10 voucher? Why / why not?
I would because some consumers are very particular about socks and may not want to purchase a subscription to your service with sampling the sock.  I would want to wear them, wash them, dry them etc, to verify that the feel and quality are to my liking before I purchase a subscription.
Is the discount voucher process straightforward (use code ‘startuplift2011′)?
It seems so, however, I did actually try to use the code and it said invalid.

I would rank these in order as 5,4,3,2,1.

Overall, the concept and site is wonderful.  As I ordered my list of improvements in the last question, in my opinion, only 5 and 4 need to be considered.  The socks seem a bit overpriced, however I’m not native to your region and your target customer may well be able to afford these prices.  Especially when the trade off is not having to shop at all by using the subscription service.  As far as the product offering it seems to make sense to me that your target customer doesn’t have or want to make the time to shop for socks, they would be interested in having an option to purchase sport type socks for other than business activities.  The value proposition could maybe be shown as a chart listing sock prices, time spent shopping for them, transportation costs, etc.  I was impressed with simplicity of the site, very easy to navigate and find everything you may want to know about the socks, the services, the payment methods.  The only downfall in my opinion was not having region specific info on the home page for those customers not in your area.  Seems as though the site was very well thought out and implemented.

Visit https://www.sockemtome.com. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?

I think the obvious is that it has something to do with socks.  I think your site sells socks and has a subscription packages to test and get recurring pairs.

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.

Ok.  I like the green background.  I think the logo looks good and I like your homepage.

What do you find bothersome? What do you like?

I think a small change I would make it to change the “simply great socks, no fuss” to “Simply Great Socks! No Fuss!” I’d make it two small complete sentences rather than a sentence fragment.  It feels more complete to me.  I think I would also make your tabs: Home, Products, Blog, etc. a larger font and thicker letter captions.  I think it would look better and be easier for those who have issues seeing.  (After all, it seems like the elderly would be part of your target market)

    Is the buying process straightforward?

Yes, it seems very straightforward to pick a subscription package and check out.

Would you buy a trial (one-off sample) if given a $10 voucher? Why / why not?

If given a voucher that covers the entire price, including shipping and handling, I would be more than happy to try your product.  I would not be interested in trying a pair and having to pay for a trial pair.

Is the discount voucher process straightforward (use code ‘startuplift2011′)?

I did not go pay the initial PayPal/credit card screen because it appears that the price is $15 and the voucher would only be for $10.  And I have no idea how much shipping + handling is.

Rank the following in terms of what improvements would you most like to see, from the following:

Improving payment mechanism, such as an alternative option to Paypal  (5 – least important)

I like Paypal, coupled with Credit Cards, I don’t see any need for other alternatives.

Differentiating product graphics on front page.  (1 – put selling points on homepage -see my answer below)

To be honest, I only see one true picture of the product, assuming that the feet on the homepage are wearing your product.  Other than that, the subscription package icons look ok.

Animation slideshows on front banner, or better graphical work. (4 – like static pictures just fine)

I don’t see any animation on your homepage.  Graphics are decent.

Better explanation of value proposition. (3 – value proposition is ok)

I think the value proposition could be improved.  I don’t see the need for your product over going to my local mass merchandiser and buying an economical package of socks for cheaper than 1 pair of Australian socks that I honestly know nothing about (other than what you tell me).

Cheaper/different product offering. (2 – this would be a good idea)

I think I touch on cheaper options in the answer above.

Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.

Actionable suggestions:  I think I would rather see the actual product on your subscription boxes.  If the subscription is for one pair, I would like to see on pair displayed.  3 pairs, I would like to see 3 pairs laid out.
As I touched on earlier, since your product seems to be priced higher than other options, I would think that more wealthy people and or elderly that do not mind spending their money would pay for the convenience of having socks shipped to them vs. buying them in a store.  That being said, I would encourage you to make your font larger on your homepage.  I am referring to the text under “Recent Blog Posts” and the tabs at the top of your page.
Question:  Your mission statement is: to make men’s lives easier.
First off, that sentence just doesn’t sound right.  Men is plural, and adding an s just doesn’t sound right.  If you have to say it more than once out loud or in your head, it is too complicated.  I would suggest re-wording it.  Maybe:  “Making life easier for men, one day at a time” or something to that effect.
Next question about your About us page:  Why are your selling points under your About us?  You want your selling points on your home page.  If a prospective visitor comes to your homepage and leaves, they will never see your selling points.  I’d heavily recommend moving your reasons why to buy to your homepage.
It also seems that a How it works page needs its own tab and does not need to be in the About our Service section.
I was thinking the About Us tells (your mission, who you are – a group of people and your origin if applicable, your history and how you got started)
From How is works and below in your About Us Section seems more appropriate for a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page.
I really think you should consider moving the pictures: No more frustration, no more surprises and no more odds socks, to your homepage along with your selling points.  It is really good and I don’t know why it is hidden in your About us section.  Had I not clicked on it, I would’ve never seen this…and it’s great!
Lastly, I think you are selling yourself short to limit your product to men.  I am assuming that it is just as easy to make women’s socks as it is to make mens.  (Just add a pink color line).  Why sell half as many of your product, than if you were to market it to women as well?  I would consider changing your mission to helping all people, not just half of all people.

  3. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
It seems to be a site that sells socks via regular subscription deliveries.

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
My first thought was that I liked your direct, no-frills homepage.  However, it never states upfront that this is a service especially for men.  I think that needs to be clearer right on the homepage.  My second thought was that you need a sign-in for customers who have accounts, and my third was that your pages are somewhat slow to load.

When I went to your Products page, I would have liked to have seen some label info about the socks such as what color they are, what material they’re made from, who the manufacturer is, etc.

Next, I visited your blog.  I thought the homepage tab for this should’ve been further to the right since eyes read left to right, and the blog is usually one of the last things a customer chooses to read.  No comments really on the blog itself.  It seemed pretty standard, albeit very brief.  It could use some more entries.

Then I checked out the Our service page.  I really think you should move the homepage tab for this page farther to the left, immediately after the Home tab.  Again, eyes read left to right, and this is one of the first pages potential customers will want to read, I think.  This page is basically well done.  It makes a good case for why customers would want to use your service and answers most common questions that they might have.  However, I also noticed that this was the first time you mentioned that you only sell men’s black business socks.  Again, I think this needs to be more clearly communicated right on the homepage.  Otherwise, it’s too easy to overlook.  Also, I think you might want to add your contact info to this page.

Finally, I clicked on Our socks.  Ahhhhh, at last I know more about your product!  Needless to say, I don’t think you should be “hiding” this info under the very last tab.  This is important stuff!  This is your product!  At the very least, I would move this tab much farther to the left on the homepage so that it attracts more attention.  But, ideally, I would eliminate this as a separate page and combine it with your Products page.  I think this info should be available right alongside the packages you sell.  It’s just more convenient that way.

What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
I like that the site is simple, relatively direct, and easy to navigate.  Your copy is pretty good, but you need a proofreader to go over it one more time, fix spacing issues, and check for correct usage of commas, hyphens, and that sort of thing.  The only thing I really find “bothersome” is that it takes so long to find any label info about the socks themselves.

    Is the buying process straightforward?
Yes.  It’s very similar to most online buying processes.  However, I think it’s odd that the secure purchase page has a headline that says, “River Equity Group Pty Ltd ATF River Equity Group Trust.”

Would you buy a trial (one-off sample) if given a $10 voucher? Why / why not?
Maybe, but I’m not sure I’d want to purchase after that because I think your prices are quite high.  Three pairs for $35.00?  Nine pairs for $90.00?  I could do way, way better in any department store.

Is the discount voucher process straightforward (use code ‘startuplift2011′)?
I didn’t see anywhere to enter a discount code.

Rank the following in terms of what improvements would you most like to see, from the following:

    Cheaper/different product offering.
The socks are just too expensive!  I also think you might have more success if you offered a wider selection of colors and styles.

Animation slideshows on front banner, or better graphical work.
That could be attractive and eye-catching, although I wouldn’t say it’s absolutely necessary.

    Better explanation of value proposition.
Not really.  You already explain it pretty thoroughly.

Differentiating product graphics on front page.
Not sure what you mean.  They seem pretty well differentiated to me.

Improving payment mechanism, such as an alternative option to Paypal.
I thought you already offered credit and debit payments as alternative options?

Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
I think you have a decent website.  As I see it, the main problem here is going to be convincing men that they should pay double or triple what they currently pay for socks just to have them delivered at routine intervals.  It’s not like socks are difficult to shop for–just about every department store has a huge selection–so I’m not sure guys are going to see the value in this at such high cost.

  4. Visit https://www.sockemtome.com. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
Like the name of the website suggest and after a quick look, yes, it’s obvious what the site is about, it’s about selling quality socks at affordable price
Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
What can i say about the site, the first impression was a pleasant one, the chosen color is good, isn’t overwhelming and it’s not monotonous either. But what I liked about the site, I find it original with expressive pictures on the main page.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
There was something bothersome, there were a few pictures about the socks and the pictures that I’ve seen were all presenting black socks , I assume you have other colors too, but is nowhere mentioned the color, only the size.
    Is the buying process straightforward?
Yes, I think that the buying process it’s easy and understable ad I think that Paypal is the most used online payment process
Would you buy a trial (one-off sample) if given a $10 voucher? Why / why not?
Yes I would be definitely interested in buying a trial sample because I would consider that I can try the product and in the same time I’m getting something in return.
Is the discount voucher process straightforward (use code ‘startuplift2011′)?
I didn’t see anywhere the code so I didn’t used it and can’t answer to this question
Rank the following in terms of what improvements would you most like to see, from the following:
Improving payment mechanism, such as an alternative option to Paypal
I give it a 5 as not important – because I find Paypal a very good option, it’s the leading online payment processor worldwide
Differentiating product graphics on front page.
It looks OK to me, you have one picture there and it’s pretty differential – 4
Animation slideshows on front banner, or better graphical work.
I didn’t noticed an animation on your site but I don’t think the site needs one, better a funny video commercial that catches the eye -3
    Better explanation of value proposition.
That is needed in my opinion, you have to explain why it’s better for me to buy socks from you when I can achieve them at better price from elsewhere -1
    Cheaper/different product offering.
Well that would be important, not for me because I prefer quality but for many of us the price really matters and a little diversity of products wouldn’t hurt either -1
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
I think that the name of the site was chosen properly and I find that the site has a pleasant interface with good colors and visible fonts, another good thing that you have blog and twitter account that’s a smart move to get more clients. I didn’t liked that the products are not presentated in different colors and styles, it seems like you have one product in different sizes and that’s it… Otherwise I think that the webpage is very original and easy to navigate.

  5.  About sockittome.com I think more info should be given about these socks. What bothers me is that the price you ask is rather high as far as socks go, and you really don’t say much about the socks, what makes them better than other socks.I would not purchase the trial size for $15.00 I would try them with the $10.00 vocher.  Because of the $10.00 vocher price. As far has the add gos it is straigh forward it tells its readers what it is selling.code stattuplift2011 I think using paypal is a very good alternative option to improving payments.I think you should show norephotos of the socks and what makes them such a great socks to buy. Need to explain why they are such a great value for the  person  interested in purchasing these socks.I think the price should be a little cheaper. The name is great.

  6. Visit https://www.sockemtome.com. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?

It is about socks. It is a great idea to have in the home page the products for sale. But it is not clear what means “subscription”

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site. What do you find bothersome? What do you like?

I found the page is really boring, the selected colors do not lead to any action, do not give confidence about the quality of the socks.

The value proposition has to be writing as a positive statement. Avoid “No more odd socks. Ever”

There is no need to show the feeds from tweeter in the first page. It could be harmful. The great news is one international user, if it is no funny and few people is  buying, I will not buy.

Green color is not suitable to show comfort and quality.

The product offer in the first page is good but there is not an explicit statement of what I am saving with subscription.

    Is the buying process straightforward?

No, despite one understands they are selling socks; subscription is not a suitable word. When I buy a subscription in fact I am buying a defined quantity of socks.

Would you buy a trial (one-off sample) if given a $10 voucher? Why / why not?

No, I would rather prefer a money back warranty. If I do not like the socks, it does not have any sense to have a voucher to buy something I am not going to buy.

Is the discount voucher process straightforward (use code ‘startuplift2011′)?

I did not find any discount voucher process.

Rank the following in terms of what improvements would you most like to see, from the following:

Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.

There is no clear value proposition. The business is base on the hypothesis that the most important problem to solve is “odd socks”. But that problem really matters to men?

There are some market issues to address such as:

    How often men buy socks?

If the socks are to be expensive why I should have to buy them?
What are the main drivers to buy socks?
What are the main troubles men have when buying socks?
What is the buying experience you want to share in the web page?
What is the main differentiation from the socks we can buy in any store?
Why all black? There is an elementary fashion rule: sock color should fit pants color.
Why not to focus on wearing occasions. It is different to go with shorts or with pants,  formal or informal, jogging or just home stay. Wearing occasions could be more exciting than a standard sock. Take in account seasons and weather.

  7. Visit https://www.sockemtome.com. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about? It appears to be a site that offers socks via a subscription service.

Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site. Well starting with the download time, all pages appear to open instantly.  No waiting for pages to load.   I like the style of the website, colors are very clear, bright and eye catching.     The pages are very clean looking, fonts are the perfect size.   Contact information is up front and plain to see on the landing page.  The landing page makes me want to proceed into the website.   Ordering seems to be very easy, self explanatory.   All link seem to be functioning.  Shopping cart is functionable.

What do you find bothersome? What do you like? I do not find any part of this website bothersome.  As mentioned above, these are all great features.   I like the ease when using this website.  I think it’s very functionable, flows well, attracts attention, overall, a great idea!  The site is very easy to navigate through.  I like the information on the About Our Services page.    Great amount of refund time.  I would feel very comfortable ordering.

Is the buying process straightforward? Yes.  My order was placed and when I clicked on the Checkout link, I was instantly taken to the Paypal page.  It’s very self explanatory.

Would you buy a trial (one-off sample) if given a $10 voucher? Why / why not? I would consider buying 1 paid for $5.00 after the $10.00 voucher in order to try it out.  I think socks are an item that everyone needs to buy anyway, so why not?!

Is the discount voucher process straightforward (use code ‘startuplift2011′)? I did not actually proceed to through the Paypal screen, which I am assuming to be the place to put the code in.  I would like to be informed of the cost of actual S & H before I would sign into my account.

Offering different options to customers other than Paypal, will always be more beneficial to the potential customer.   By offering credit cards, and even personal checks, you are opening your market up to a greater audience.

The more information as to why the customer needs to purchase from your site, the better.

I feel that your site is already attractive.  I can’t think of anything that would make it more appealing at the moment.

Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have. I think that this is excellent work.  I love the website, I love the product and the value.  The ease of navigation of the site is commendable.  Great work!!

  8. Visit https://www.sockemtome.com. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
It looks a sock subscription service for premium made socks which get delivered to the customer’s home.
Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
The site seems fairly simple, I didn’t find anything complicated to understand, easy to navigate. I like the name of the site it has a bit of humor to it which lightens up the feel of the site. I don’t like the green background with a white front page because I find it too contrasting. Is there a “contact us” link or a customer service number? I would add a customer service number to the main box on the front top page.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
Again, I found the color contrast bothersome, there is no customer service number or chat. I didnt’ see any color variety or styles or pictures in the “products” link. Do they only come in black? I like the simple concept, easy to navigate, the plans are explained well.
Socks are in AU size, are these the same for U.S.?
    Is the buying process straightforward?
Yes. It is very simply explained and straight-forward, however, it seems this product is for the Australian market. Do you ship worldwide?
Would you buy a trial (one-off sample) if given a $10 voucher? Why / why not?
Yes, because I am curious why these socks are so different that it has a delivery service. Also, it targets a very common problem: holes on the toe.
Is the discount voucher process straightforward (use code ‘startuplift2011′)?
I did not see an option to enter this code in the shopping cart, but, I am familiar with how discount codes work. The code field box is usually located in the shopping cart page. I did not proceed to buying the socks, but, if I do soon, where is the code entered? Where do you advertise special deals on the site?
Rank the following in terms of what improvements would you most like to see, from the following:

Improving payment mechanism, such as an alternative option to Paypal
I don’t have a problem with paypal. I don’t think it’s necessary to add an alternative payment method as I find paypal more secure than using any other credit card online or even a bank card.

Differentiating product graphics on front page.
Definitely add more graphics, more site appeal with special effects since the product is unique yet so simple. Make the site more attractive to highlight the product.

Animation slideshows on front banner, or better graphical work.
Just better graphical work, maybe have a demo video comparing sockemtome socks from other brands or types. What makes this product unique? Show it, demonstrate it, explain it.

    Better explanation of value proposition.
    Same as above.

    Cheaper/different product offering.
I would a section for periodic special offers, and/or a less expensive package or trial. What makes this sock so special I want to pay $15 a pair when I can get a whole pack for less? (anticipate those questions by delivering a proactive approach)

Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
Add color variety, styles, explain why these socks are a “no fuss” sock, add a zoom in feature to take a look at the fabric closer. Have promotions on facebook, for example, have a “refer 20 fans to the page and receive a free pair” promotion…it creates a fan base and the word spreads around.

  9. Visit https://www.sockemtome.com. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about? It appears to be a subscription for socks to be delivered to your home.
Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site. I like the simplicity of the site. It used color in a reserved manor, nothing overly done. It was well laid-out and direct. Easy to read and navigate to the things that I needed to know.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like? It bothers me that under the products page there is no picture of the actual product being sold. It seems rather odd. Also, there doesn’t appear to be any customer service contact number.
Is the buying process straightforward? It is if you are familiar with pay pal. There should be other payment options.
Would you buy a trial (one-off sample) if given a $10 voucher? Why / why not? I might try a pair on my husband if given a voucher. My husband seems to always be wearing holes in his socks. Also being the one to do the wash, I am tired of trying to match them after they lose their shape and color. This website is for socks and socks only so they must be rather good at what they do.
Is the discount voucher process straightforward (use code ‘startuplift2011′)? Very irritating and misleading. I looked all over and found no mention of using a discount voucher. Normally you find a box labeled such at checkout but nope, nothing.

Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have. It is nice that you dedicate yourself to the quality of a single product instead of stretching yourself thin. However, its a bit strange that you don’t offer then in any colors except black.

The page setup, colors, and graphics are well put together.  At a first glance, the “One off trial: 1 pair” link, I am not really sure of what that means.  It is confusing.  What does that mean:  “One off”?  I am thinking maybe it means if you lose 1 of the pair that you bought for $12.00 they will replace it?  But, for how long?  I had to click the link to understand that.  Maybe the trial information should be placed on the homepage.  Then you could have a link to the rest of the options you have to purchase socks.

What do you find bothersome? I have a 22 inch monitor and I am having to scroll down to see the information.  The initial view that I get after clicking one of the links on the homepage has part of the sock graphic cut off and I have to scroll down.  The Sockemtome.com graphic in the upper right corner is too big.   What do you like?  I like the layout, graphics, and colors.  I just think that some of the items need to be scaled down.

Is the buying process straightforward? Yes.  I would just place some type of verification of the site security on that page.  I like the fact that you can use your PayPal.  Isn’t there a logo that you can download from PaPpal aside from the one that you have that shows the security?
Would you buy a trial (one-off sample) if given a $10 voucher? Sure. Why / why not? Simple.  $2 for a trial on these socks!  Where can you buy a good pair of socks for $2?  It would be worth trying.  It seems like a great value.

Is the discount voucher process straightforward (use code ‘startuplift2011′)? Yes, it was very easy to use.

  11. Visit https://www.sockemtome.com. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about?
The website is selling black socks only to men. simple and straight forward
Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
I think logo on top left corner is too big. can be moved on the left side of the website, anyway is a big empty space there. the search box can be moved in the same row with the ‘home’, ‘our socks’, etc tabs and all the tabs moved to the left. this way, the images with the options of buying would appear right away and you do not have to scroll down to see the orders.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
green color of the website looks very environmentally friendly. I am not sure if it ‘captures’ a business man. another color more elegant would sell more socks. there are typos: words that appear twice, one after another. this has to be addressed right away. it  gives buyers a negative opinion of the website (if they cannot spell right? how can they do quality socks?) Logo looks ok. instead of the triangles i would change it into a curvy shade in form of an “S”. Why a subscription? there are so many subscription to magazines, newspapers, etc, would a business man remeber he bought a “subscription” of socks that will arrive in 4 months? I do not think is relevant.
    Is the buying process straightforward?
The buying process is easy and simple: choose one of the options, go to cart, enter info and pay. could not be more simple than that. description of your order is awesome, especially for a subscription. it tells you exactly what and when you get it.
Would you buy a trial (one-off sample) if given a $10 voucher? Why / why not?
I would buy a trial for 2$ (12-10) just to try and see the quality. if i like how they feel and the fabric, probably would buy more. I do not like it that it does tell me the percentage of cotton (95%) polyiester (5%) etc
Is the discount voucher process straightforward (use code ‘startuplift2011′)?
it would be better if the website would ask me about the voucher when i enter the address info, and not on the second page of the paying process.
Rank the following in terms of what improvements would you most like to see, from the following:

Improving payment mechanism, such as an alternative option to Paypal
Great option! I use paypal for all my online purchases to airline tickets and everything that can be paid with paypal. i think this is the best option. i did not see the security icons like (verisign or others @ the bottom of the page) (rank 10 of a scale of 10, 10 being the best)
Differentiating product graphics on front page.
What products? there is only one product. ooo, you mean the subscription options? whould be better if every options would have a different image of the socks. right now, all look the same. rank 4 out of 10)
Animation slideshows on front banner, or better graphical work.
what animation slideshows? nothing is moving on my screen. do i have to press anything for the socks to move? (rank 5 out of 10)
    Better explanation of value proposition.
The explanation of value proposition is great. everything you get is extreamly clear! (rank 10 out of 10)
    Cheaper/different product offering.
Nothing for women and kids? a white line of women socks would be a great idea. these socks are pretty expensive… until i see the quality, it is hard to leave so much money onthe table, i mean on the internet, for some pair of black socks that i can pick them up anywhere (rank 5 out of 10)

Why only black socks? why only for men?

  12. Visit https://www.sockemtome.com. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What do you think the site is about? When i first visit, what i tot was the site is about selling socks. I saw ur title which is sockem to me. That make a clear view about ur site. First i tot this is a general socks store which is selling all kind of socks for mens and women.
Now go back to the site and comment on various elements of the site.
okay, first, ur site is simple. Which is easy to understand. But u can add something more about ur socks quality in the home page. too simple could make people feel it is not professional enough. You should highlight the home, our socks, our services, etc to let people see clearer that is a menu bar. It can attract people attention to click on it. Above the menu bar i found that i feel empty about it. If u want ur site looks more attractive i think u should advertise or design something about ur socks at there. I found that ur search feature always showing the same result. I think u can exclude the search feature when u have nothing much to show. Because it may make people feel is not the result that what they looking for when they use the search feature. This may make them leave the site.
What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
Nothing much is bothersome. The thing that i found i not really like is ur site showing the price in just few seconds when people visit ur site. One pair of sock costing $12 may make people feel it’s too expensive if they doesnt know ur socks quality. This maybe will just cut off their interest and leave the site. U should show more detail about ur socks before showing the price. Ur payment method, the paypal logo and all the credit cards should be shown at bottom of ur site. It feel weird showing in the middle of ur site when people not even know the price and ur sock quality. I also found that ur navigation ‘about us’ content is same with our service. I think u might use the same keyword better than using a different keyword when the content is the same. U should mention u r selling men’s socks in the home page. Because it may confuse people. I tot it was a general socks store at first. What i like about ur site is it is simple and easy to understand what ur site about. I can easily get the information about ur sock. But u can improve more to attract people interest and to market ur sock with the above suggestions. Ur subscription package impress me. I think this is a good idea and a good service. U send people socks in a period of time in a year to replace their old socks. But u should add some detail about ur subscription before u listing down it. People will confuse with the subscription keyword. I also confused at first until i click on it i just realize how it works. U can explain it like, ‘we offer a after 4months new sock delivery if u subscribe the subscription package’. U can use a better sentence to explain it, my sentence is not that good.
    Is the buying process straightforward?
Yes, it is straightforward. It’s easy for people to make a purchase.
Would you buy a trial (one-off sample) if given a $10 voucher? Why / why not?
For me no, because i still have to add $2 for it.If u want to promote ur product. U should make it free. People see the free word they definitely going to try it. However, if u do not want to free it, u can still stick with ur market idea which is also a good way to attract customer. U can display ur promotional package in the front page if u have.
Is the discount voucher process straightforward (use code ‘startuplift2011′)?
For now i dint see any option or any promotion for the voucher. If in the future u wanted to use the way u mention above it would be ok. Make it simple. I suggest u just cut off the price into only $2 for trial. if it is for marketing purpose. It is more convenient for the customer. Instead of entering code.
Rank the following in terms of what improvements would you most like to see, from the following:
    1. Differentiating product graphics on front page.
I think this is more important to let the visitor know exactly the detail of ur products.
    2. Animation slideshows on front banner, or better graphical work.
This is a more convenient way and attractive way to attract customer. I think u can combine this with the differentiating product aspect. U can differentiate it with a slide show. people just have to view ur slideshow to understand. It look more professional and interesting.
    3. Better explanation of value proposition
A better explanation can make people feel u r serious and professional in doing this business. u can make ur customer feel more secure.
    4.Cheaper/different product offering.
This is least important. if ur product is good in quality, people willing to pay in any price to buy ur product but make sure is in reasonable price.
    5. improving payment mechanism, such as an alternative option to Paypal
For, any alternative option of payment will be ok if i wanted to buy the product.
(Im ranking from the number 1-5, which is 1 is the most important to 5 is least important.)
Please share any additional feedback/comments you might have.
I think u can expand ur business if u can. U can sell not only men socks. Maybe u have ur personnel reason for only selling men’s socks. Other than this, in order to attract visitor interest, u can have a promotional package for all of ur packages option. Even a little promotion is ok.  Just to make people feel it’s worth to buy. And about the slideshow i mention above. Make people have confidence and feel professional about ur business.
