  1. 1. My initial impression was that the website was very easy to navigate and I could tell right away what the company was about. I was immediately drawn to the 4 circles in the upper left hand corner with people’s faces because that was the first thing to load. Also, I think the placement of those buttons is a little off. The faces kind of blen in to the bike photo in the background.
    3. My biggest concerns with the service were with protecting the bike renters/rentees from damaged or stolen bikes. It was very easy to find The “how it works” tab, which clearly explained my concers. Overall, I think this is a great idea, especially for travelers!

  2. 1) My initial impression of the website is half of the picture which shows a guy’s legs with his bicycle. The photo was well-taken. It leave a good impression of first-time visitors visiting the website. I saw the “Rent a Bike” search box and “List Your Bike. It’s Free” search box. It’s quite easy and convenient for potential customers to use these search boxes to find what they are looking for. I’m drawn to click the “How it works” green coloured button. Because I would like to find out more info of this bicycles rental service.

    2) My biggest concerns about the service are the reliability of service provided to customers. Is it really safe to use? Because there are a lot of online businesses, but some of the owners of those websites isn’t trustworthy. They just wish to make money, but they couldn’t care about customers interests. The feel of your website is quite comfortable. If you can provide good and reliable service to customers, everything should be okay.

  3. 1) The first thing that catches my attention once I open the page is the big picture that features a bike and the surrounding street behind it. I was drawn to the box that asks “Where would you like to rent a bike?” and I typed in where I live, just to see if there were any possible rental in my area. There were none so I went to see where the “How it works” button lead. I liked how easily the rental process is explained using simple pictures and a brief explanation. It was also a bit amusing to read the witty profiles that line the right side of the “How it works” page which explain why certain users rent out their bikes. Mainly, I was drawn to exploring the page because I like the concept of renting a bike from someone as an alternative form of transportation. This service would be especially helpful to people traveling to a big city where anything they want or need is in a close proximity or to travelers looking to save money using a bike rather than renting a car.

    2) As far as concerns go, the only one would be whether the people are trustworthy but Spinlister seems to have that covered in the rental agreement that talks about what would happen if property was returned damaged, etc.  Secondly, the site seems more about protecting the bike owners than anything else. Perhaps, if there was a provided form that a renter could print out with a picture of a generic bike on it and before taking the bike the renter could examine the bike for any pre-existing damage, marking the paper and going over it with the owner to clarify. This might prevent any “he said, she said” arguments that might arise.  Other than that, this service is pretty cool and definitely more reliable than renting from some random guy on craigslist.

As a person who’ve lived in cities for most of my life and who sees the many benefits of riding bikes, I think this website is a very cool concept. Similar to zipcar.com, but even more environmentally friendly, the idea of communal ownership of anything is a really appealing concept.

However, they don’t have bikes in many zip codes, and doesn’t own one for cost concerns, it could be really inconvenient.

    2) What are your biggest concerns about the service?

My biggest concern is that, although I believe in community ownership, I don’t believe that all people are good. There should be some kind of deposit, insurance policy, something…

But it’s a great website and a great idea.

  5. 1) Visit https://spinlister.com/. What is your initial impression of what you see? Are you immediately drawn to click any of the buttons? Why or why not?  I see a picture of a bike. Right away I wanted to put information in the box “where you like to rent a bike”  Quickly I wanted to set up account and look to where I can rent a bike

    2) What are your biggest concerns about the service? Well what happens if the person does not show up with the  bike, or the change the wheels of the bike or color. What happens if the person got into a car accident or arrested on the day they rented the bike do they still get charge? Or what happens if the bike gets stolen. I’m just saying there are a lot of things that can go wrong. Un-lesss you put some type of gps device on the bike that the person does not know about

In my browser window, I only see the picture and the “Where would you like to rent a bike?” It is obvious that it is a search feature because of the magnifying glass, but I am not exactly sure what I will find when I input a place.  I’m not sure if it is for renting bikes in the US or anywhere in the world. Having rented bikes in other countries my first inclination is to put in a city in another country just to see what happens. I don’t get a result so I am curious to see where in fact there are bikes available.  After trying some small cities and towns in the area where I live in the US, I try bigger cities.  It takes me a few tries before I notice the”how it works” button under” find a bike to rent from awesome people”.  I wish I had seen the button in the beginning.  The website’s purpose would have been more clear to me if I had read that first.
I see the Sign Up, Log in, and List buttons in the first minute or so, but because I am not sure how it works I am not inclined to click on them.
    2) What are your biggest concerns about the service? I am not sure how useful it would be if there were no bikes in the cities I was visiting. It would be better if there were some guidelines about how to describe the bike.  I would like to see more details about the bike I was renting.  I like the rental agreement, but I am concerned about payment and what if the bike was not returned in the same condition.  It would be good if there was a deposit. If I am traveling with someone else ti would be great to know how close to renters are to each other.  My concern is if this service makes more sense for a single renter, although there are also rental companies listed. It might be helpful if the website also asks how many bikes you are interested in renting this way it can steer you to a person or business with multiple bikes for rent.
I think it is a great idea especially in foreign countries where it is difficult to rent a car so if you want to explore your local surroundings a bike is a great way to do it.

The picture with the guy standing in middle of a street, it draws my attention to safety, if this service is in NYC or any busy cities. This marketplace should not be confined by location, a better picture that this current one will comfort potential clients, at least won’t kill this good idea to rent a bike, like rent-a-car.

The next action i did was clicked on How it Works. I’m more concern on how the listers are protected in the whole business if there is damage or lost.
    2) What are your biggest concerns about the service?
    a. Is it safe for tourists to go around in NYC by bike?
    b. how is the lister being protected from any lost or damage?
    c.  how is this service being promoted to bring in enough renters? Should it be promoted like Hertz or Rent-a-Car?

The photo is nice but over sized.  The page loaded, and then I had to wait another 3 seconds for the photo to load.  It seems to consume the whole page and makes the rest of the information seem secondary.  The information regarding the product or service stands out because of its location.  However, the “How It Works” information is found after scrolling down.  The buttons are shadowed and blends into the photo which makes it hard to immediately locate.  I was drawn to click one after scrolling and reading other pertinent information and then realizing that they are located on the photo.

    2) What are your biggest concerns about the service?
No concerns.  I am now considering listing our bikes!

The very first impression i got when i have visited the homepage is that this is about renting a bike and traveling. The picture on home page tells a lot about the concept.i really like the concept. Specially for tourist and travelers it works really great.
The immediate action i took is enter my place and finding who are renting cycles. This is to see the how quick the results are on the site which it meant for.
The feature missing on search was auto accomplish like most of the site provides when user type it list all the available options. The thing you could do among with the location u can also show the number of bikes available at that location
e.g when user type xyz location  result would be  u can show 15 with bike symbol.
There is lots of scope of work on usability issue in search result.
    Overall site is cool.

    2) What are your biggest concerns about the service?

My biggest concern is that about the people who are listed are actual and trustworthy and also about the bike details. Ya review of the bike make it more trustworthy.
Another issues is what if the person who listed bike does not show up on that day because of some major issue like illness or something. Is there any backup plan?
    Overall concept is really good.
