Uses current social media avenues to get into a game of golf

I think it scares a lot of golfers away. I think that the graphics could be softened up a bit, more rounded corners maybe a light green background. Also, I think you should have a check box with a default check that says select all. Then check boxes for individual social media buttons. For example if you unchecked the default box and only checked Facebook and Twitter it would automatically open up your Facebook, make your selections then the program automatically closes your Facebook account and opens Twitter (with next buttons). Then a finished button.
I’m not much of a golfer but all of my bosses were. I would definitely have pointed this site out to them and they would have loved it. It looks a little archaic and needs to be made softer and a little more fun (user friendly).
Â
If you plan a round how does that experience match or deviate from the expectations you had from the first page and explanatory video (or the how-to videos if you chose to watch any)?
Not sure how to answer this one.
Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated! Is there anything else you’d care to share about Teeboxer? I think it’s a great concept and with better graphics like perhaps making the start here button a golf ball. It just needs to be made more visually appealing and more user friendly. Maybe presenting the social media networks in a different way would be more appealing. I think the site is absolutely wonderful for golfers.

Â
On my first visit to the website the video draws my sole attention, as it dominants most area of the frontpage. But before I click to watch it, I then look at the description, scroll down to learn more about the features of the website, if they’re not showing what I am interested in, I won’t even bother to load the video.
Â
You have a professional video, but even other features you put on your frontpage are important because if those elements are not what the users want, they won’t even load the video (as most videos takes time to load and play). Especially now your target audience are busy golfers, who don’t have any time to lose!
Â
Watch the explanatory video (main video at top of first page.) What do you think Teeboxer does and would you want to use it for that?
Â
Teeboxer helps golfers to plan and schedule golf games.
Â
For the video, the background music is so loud which it covers the introduction for a few moments and make it hard to be heard. To me, this is a cowboy-feel video, grassy land, background music and even the narrator speaks like a cowboy! If you feel it cowboy too and that’s what you want for the site, it’s okay, but in my opinion I don’t think it matches your site very much.
Â
I know that you want to keep the video short. But the demonstration inviting a friend, creating a game, select a timeslot, facebook, etc are shown too fast in the video. I would say select only a few of them and slow them down.
Â
I also noticed the first 23 seconds of the video is skippable as you have the mark set on 00:23 on the video. If you think it is skippable too, delete that. If this video is located somewhere else on the page you can keep it, but you’re putting this video on the most important and expensive space of your website. I would not put anything unworthy over there.
Â
If I were the web designer, I would not put a video on that spot but use words and graphics to present what Teeboxer is. Viewing that video takes more than 2 minutes(for loading and play); if I use text and graphics audiences will learn more about the website within 1 minute after the page loads. Also, remember some browsers cannot load video… So, I think what you can do is put in text and image to tell people what Teeboxer is, and at the same time include a button where you can click on this introductory video if they want to see more.
Â
From what I learned about Teeboxer, it’s an innovative application. Personally I don’t play golf so I won’t use it, but if it’s for planning badminton, football or basketball play, I definitely will use it. I have never seen applications for sports games planning, it would be interesting and the market will be huge! The best thing is that we don’t need to have accounts in Teeboxer if we’re only participants. So if I want to arrange a game and I know this application, I create one and then all of my friends(Facebook), colleagues(LinkedIn), partners(Salesforce) could be invited. Create a game and then Teeboxer will be able to find some of my friends to join me.
Â

Â
Steps are easy and clear. But there are too little course for us to choose from in respect of the whole country. Also, if I can’t find a course, I can’t get the list back, please fix this error(FYI I use the word “japan” for testing).
Â
I find the 1, 2, 3 step easy, but on the next page it is confusing I don’t know what to do. I see that I can select a preferable time slot, where I learned it from the video. I like the way where I can check the weather before I select a date. That’s very detail planned. So we can have a couple of “tee times” on the right. But I don’t know how to use the box on the right. I suggest using some tooltip for first time users like me to help them learn how to use each part wisely. You can also put a small walkthrough on this page so that when we’re in doubt, we can refer to that.
Â
If you plan a round how does that experience match or deviate from the expectations you had from the first page and explanatory video (or the how-to videos if you chose to watch any)?
Â
For only the creating part, it went okay and I can plan one from the listed location and time shown, also, I work out all the features mentioned from video. I’m interested in what do it do when multiple people join it. You said the participants could just join one without an account. And I found out that we can post something on the tee time wall. That’s for sure I’m not posting and talking to myself. The communication part between creators and participants are not that clear for me.
Â
Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated! Is there anything else you’d care to share about Teeboxer?
Â
Include a tagline, or put more descriptive wordings on the title, that helps in SEO and search engine result(a must for including the word GOLF in it). We don’t know what Teeboxer is before we enter the site, same as the search engine.
Â
For your frontpage, I won’t center all the elements if I were you. Now you’re using only half the width of the page, ie many white spaces on both sides, I would centralize your video part and add text and graphics as I said above, and for the rest of the page I will pile it up on two columns, the wider column will be the features, the right part will be of the telephone and the account and terms. Whatever I say, your website at this stage still doing fine and readable. But users are lazy and they don’t want to scroll up and down all the time, especially when they’re viewing your website on phones and on small screens. Make the website more userfriendly for busy people;)
Â
I found you’re using the word “tee” throughout on your site, eg, “tee times”. But I don’t get what a “tee” is. I think more effort has to be done on promoting the phase.
Â
Some navigation suggestions:
-your menu bar is confusing. If I want to go to support -> submit a request I have to click on the support page, then submit a request. Try if you can improve the menu bar by drop down/cascade menu bar.
Â
-I’m on the page mygold->news, when I click on Teeboxer logo I expect to land on the my golf-> welcome page, why not? The logo should point us back to the frontpage.
Â
-You have done something on the mod_rewrite so that I can’t bookmark any pages in the site. Fix this, this is important.

The video with the blue sky is the thing that my eyes look at – because really the colors are dull and there doesn’t appear to be anything else above the fold other than navigation buttons and a “Get Started” button. So I want to click on the video first.
Watch the explanatory video (main video at top of first page.) What do you think Teeboxer does and would you want to use it for that?

Yes. Here are my thoughts. The video is very good, but the voice over is mediocre. You need to increase the volume of the man’s voice, because he sounds very monotone and I can’t make out some of the words he is saying over the instrumental. That is my only issue with the video, but I think the video quality is very good and is well done. Tee boxer is an app for scheduling tee times for golf. Yes, I would use it for that.
Click Get Started. What’s your first reaction? Would you want to continue using this quick-start and/or Teeboxer at this point? (Many people exit here so any thoughts would be really helpful.)

Get started, first reaction is that I can either sign in or leave site. I think your main hurdle of people leaving is that they just weren’t compelled to jump on board and try your service, even though you advertise that it is free. If you don’t sell it well on your homepage, you won’t get people to sign up. So I think you need your homepage to be a better salesman. You need to add a little more than a video to your homepage space above the fold to display you are a high-quality brand.
If you plan a round how does that experience match or deviate from the expectations you had from the first page and explanatory video (or the how-to videos if you chose to watch any)?

Did not plan a round. I don’t golf.
Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated! Is there anything else you’d care to share about Teeboxer?
Actionable suggestions:
1. It appears that there is some text above the video but below the words “Get rounds together faster, stay in touch with partners and courses, and find new ones”
But it is only the tops of letters. Unreadable. This appears to be a glitch.
2. Add more to your homepage to project you are a premium brand
3. I don’t think it is necessary to say “watch more how-to videos” when you have one main one up. You could put this link on a media page or a how to page. Your main video should do the selling and remove any un-necessary clutter from your selling space on your homepage.
4. Your navigation buttons should go all across the top – look more symmetrical
5. I can see the top border is not perfectly straight. it is out of alignment by the “sign in via” tab; glitches like this and the one mentioned in #1 will show you are not a high-quality website.
6. I think your selling points should be above the fold, and you should lose the rest of the stuff.
For example: Plan Faster, Everything in One Place, Plan with new Partners, Plan with everyone, and plan anywhere need to be to the right of your main video, and then you can get rid of the Plan Golf Faster above the video. That is a selling point and does not need to be mentioned twice on your homepage. Get rid of the rest of the stuff, and have all of your vital info above the fold. Not necessary to make anyone scroll down. If you want more detail on them, allow the selling points to be linked to other pages.
7. Make your motto more concise. “Get rounds together faster, stay in touch with partners and courses, and find new ones” just doesn’t roll off of the tongue. You need something quick and memorable. Something like: Golf now. We’ll give you the wow. or  Golf planning made easy.
8. Don’t understand why your “News” button and your “Partners” button have the same content.

Thanks for the help kconroy—especially your comments on the social media button and sign in/connection process; very helpful! I’m curious about the comment on the quick-start page scaring golfers away, do you think it scares them away due to graphical aspects you mention, e.g., sharp corners, or do mean something else about the page scares them away, e.g., because it’s too complex, or because everything is one page instead of a wizard with one step per page, or because… Thanks again!

Honestly, i dont feel anything that draw my attention. i first click on the play video button. I cant really figure out what your site is about at first. And it looks wordy beside the video which is not attractive and interesting for me. At here, i would suggest you change the site layout to a more interesting which contain a more colorful page. After i scroll down and read all the feature that you listed i can understand that it’s a application which allow people to communicate with each other easily for the purpose of setting up a game allow people to see it and join it with the feature of stating the time date and weather.
Watch the explanatory video (main video at top of first page.) What do you think Teeboxer does and would you want to use it for that?
After watching the video, i know that teebox provide a application that allow people to create a golf game for people to join and it allow people to check for the weather. I would like to comment about the video. I think the video can be improved. honestly, the video is a little boring for me which it is not interesting or impress me about your service in the video. the sound is too soft. You can use a soft sound but i suggest with a louder sound which can keep people alert. The explanation was quite clear but it’s too fast. I suggest that in the video, you can directly showing the layout of your apps and explain how it works in a clearer and slower way. Show only how it works to impress the viewer.Â
Click Get Started. What’s your first reaction? Would you want to continue using this quick-start and/or Teeboxer at this point? (Many people exit here so any thoughts would be really helpful.)
My first reaction is click on the facebook option for login. I think the main problem people exit from here is because you ask people to choose a courses and also time and date at the step. If a person who do not have any plan in planning a game, and the site asked to make a plan, which the person doesn’t know when. At here the person will think that he dont have a plan for it then they will also think they do not need to use this app for now, it may lead him to leave the page. I suggest that you cut the step of choosing courses and also time date. You can allow people to directly go into the main page of the app which is their profile after they chosen a option for login. Then you can have  a simple pop up instruction telling the beginner what to do and the creating a new game feature located at where. This will make them feel more comfortable and flexible which they can create a game when they want not directly after the login. Also i suggest that when they click the get started you can directly display Choose a option to sign in without the ‘forget…’ sentence. This will confuse the visitor. Also you can change the get started keyword to sign up for free. it will attract people when people see the free word. which you can highlight it. Also add a different color for different step in the registration steps which will look more interesting and professional.
If you plan a round how does that experience match or deviate from the expectations you had from the first page and explanatory video (or the how-to videos if you chose to watch any)?
I would like to see a more interesting layout of a homepage and with a more professional look. your site page is too plain for me which it does not look anything special about it. The color is very important. I suggest you provide a different color lining when it goes to another category such as if you have five features, you can explain the five feature in a five different color background. Also the video is not that clear and it make me feel it is not a professional site. I have a idea which i think you can change the video to a slideshows which explain the feature on it or the step by step how it works. Make sure the design of the slideshow look interesting and attractive if you want to create a slideshow. For the menu bar i suggest the font size should be bigger. You also can add a listing which state why people should use your service and how it can benefits them. This can make the visitor agree with what you stated and could attract them to sign up for it.Â
Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated! Is there anything else you’d care to share about Teeboxer?
I think i have mentioned most of it above. I like the service that you provide to us which is useful and convenience for people who like to play golf. Also you can add some user testimonial for the visitors to see, it might convince some of the visitor to sign up. I suggest that you can have a small message box which allow visitor directly send an email to you regarding the question that they want to ask which will be convenience for them and it benefit you and also the visitor as they can get their question answered and you can make them feel you are professional in it and you can solve their question to sign up for your service.

“and even the narrator speaks like a cowboy!”
LOL that’s just the way I talk—hadn’t noticed I sound like a cowboy though, good to know! You make a good point about the feel of the application v. the feel of the video, I’ll have to think that over a lot more.
Â
Thanks a lot skyeechee! All your comments and advice are very helpful; and every one is a todo item now to look into further, thanks! And, yes that menu bar drives me nuts too—even though I’ve only myself to blame for it.
Since you were wondering about planning rounds with others who don’t have accounts—and this needs to be made much clearer in the application—I wanted to respond to your curiosity here: if you add other players to a round, e.g., and send it to them, Teeboxer can recognize them and let them make changes without requiring they sign in so people who aren’t going to want to sign in or create an account etc. can still participate fully. In other words, only people (signed in and not signed in) you’ve added to your round will be able to participate in planning and only people who are signed in and in your social network will be able to join a round you’ve opened up to others to join. This stuff gets a bit complex and the objective in Teeboxer is to make it “just work” without people getting into the details—and so your point is great that it’s still confusing.
Â
PS A tee is the small wooden or plastic stand the ball is hit off of from the starting area for each hole. In golfer speak, we tee up the ball then tee off—from the tee box or teeing ground. And a tee time is the name for a golf groups reservation and also the time of that reservation, e.g., we reserved the 8:15 tee time.
Okay, I agree with the other tester to somewhat of a degree on the video. If they’re in their office on the computer they may watch it. However, if you’re gearing this to mobile web like iphone, blackberry, they’re not gonna watch it. In answer to your question about wizards, I hate them. If it came up as a wizard I would get out of the program fast.Â
Just make it a little more golf looking with colors, a few pics or icons but not to many. Keep it pared down but right now it’s too paired down.
Really put yourself into the shoes of a mobile user. They’re on a train or something and someone sends them the link to this great site. make it as quick and easy as possible for them to sign up. Try to make it a little more intuitive without the user having to press this and that and going from next screen to next screen.
Not sure if it’s possible but if you do the check box thing and say I pick facebook and twitter, Could your program open these two apps up simultaneously?
Visit https://teeboxer.com – what draws your attention, where do you want to click first?
The video of course, and I have to admit that I was amazed that I could actually view it. You see I am having problems with my Adobe Player, and when I go to a website that includes a video I find that the majority of the time I can’t view the video due to this issue, so the fact I could see yours is something that I commend you for, a problem with Adobe Player won’t stand in the way of someone viewing your video which is definitely a plus.
Watch the explanatory video (main video at top of first page.) What do you think Teeboxer does and would you want to use it for that?
Apparently Teeboxer is a social media website for golfers, to schedule their golf games and to interact with other golfers. The video is well done with its graphics, very clear and crisp.
Click Get Started. What’s your first reaction? Would you want to continue using this quick-start and/or Teeboxer at this point? (Many people exit here so any thoughts would be really helpful.)
I can’t see get started, maybe it has to do with my pixel resolution, which I don’t want to change for just one website. This is s drawback, I found that the homepage doesn’t look complete because of this issue. So this is something to take into consideration, because someone with my pixel resolution may have the same issue, and may just exit from the website without looking into the benefits that it has.
If you plan a round how does that experience match or deviate from the expectations you had from the first page and explanatory video (or the how-to videos if you chose to watch any)?
Well I’m not a golfer so I wouldn’t know how to go about doing this to be honest with you. From the looks of your layout this maybe something that would be simple for a golfer to do.
Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated! Is there anything else you’d care to share about Teeboxer?
Only that I think it’s a great idea for those who are golfers. It’s a one stop place to interact with other golfers and plan their schedule. I just think a few things need to be taken into consideration that were listed above.
What draws your attention, where do you want to click first?
The video for sure.
Â
Watch the explanatory video (main video at top of first page.) What do you think Teeboxer does and would you want to use it for that?
Teeboxer appears to be an app that allows golfers to plan games with their friends and associates using existing social networks.
Â
Click Get Started. What’s your first reaction? Would you want to continue using this quick-start and/or Teeboxer at this point? (Many people exit here so any thoughts would be really helpful.)
First of all, it took awhile for this page to load. I tried it twice to make sure it wasn’t just some issue with my Internet connection at the moment, and it wasn’t. It’s a little slow.
Â
Second, my first thought was that I didn’t get why some things on the page were grayed out. Specifically, the info in parentheses at the top of the page is grayed out and so is the entire box in step 2. Combined with the plain, blank white look of the page, it contributes to the impression that the site is unfinished, somehow not quite ready to go. I also don’t care for your aversion to capital letters. The use of all lowercase letters in many of your headlines, titles, and instructions makes it harder to read and also contributes to the feeling that this page is somehow unfinished. This may be why visitors are exiting at this point.
Â
Another reason why visitors may be exiting is because they’re expecting more info rather than an immediate registration form. Or, they may just want to get a feel for what your site is like but aren’t yet ready to start scheduling a game.
Â
As for me personally, if I was ready to schedule a round of golf, I see no reason why I wouldn’t go ahead and get started at this point. I would probably do it even though the page looks unfinished, but I think that could potentially scare away other users.
Â
If you plan a round how does that experience match or deviate from the expectations you had from the first page and explanatory video (or the how-to videos if you chose to watch any)?
I didn’t try to plan a round, partly because I’m not a golfer and partly because I don’t really like giving out information about my other email and/or social media accounts. I’m very concerned about privacy on the Net, so I try to keep such information sharing to a minimum. However, I’m aware that most people aren’t as concerned about that as I am..
Â
Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated! Is there anything else you’d care to share about Teeboxer?
Sure. I’ll start with the homepage. To be honest, I think it could use some work. There’s something about it that looks hastily created and amateurish. I think part of the problem is the vast amount of white space. The video is a very nice focal point, but the rest of the page is so plain. There are no other colors, no other images. Your logo, header, and tabs are very small, almost like an afterthought. And, interestingly, you try to sell your service right here on the homepage instead of trying to draw visitors deeper into the site. I suspect that some people don’t realize that all of your “meaty” info is farther down the page. Their eyes go to the video, then the “Get Started” button, and they never know there’s more below the fold. Then I suspect they click through to the registration form and feel like they don’t have enough information about your service to start using it.
Â
My recommendation would be to shorten your homepage. With the exception of maybe a brief, bulleted list, move your selling points to another page entitled something like “What’s Teeboxer?” or “How It Works.” Your video works as a central image, but at least add some color to the background and enlarge your header. Would love to see an image in the header, too–maybe a golf ball on a tee.
Â
Regarding the copy you have now on the homepage (which I think you should move to a separate page), I’m not crazy about your use of all lowercase lettering. I find it harder to read, and it looks more casual than your service warrants, I think. The copy itself is okay, although I think you should avoid reusing the word “automatically” so many times in the first section. The screenshots are okay, but if you moved all this stuff to another page, you could make them a little bigger, which would be even better. One more thing: Why are the first three sections aligned with the image on the left and the text on the right while the fourth section has the image on the right and the text on the left? Then the last section has no image and is inexplicably centered. It’s better to be consistent.
Â
Your homepage video looks very professional. The videography and graphics are great. But the screenshots flash by so quickly that it almost hurts my eyes, and it’s definitely hard to get a look at them. Also, the music is a little too loud. It drowns out the voiceover somewhat. And speaking of the music and voiceover, I find it interesting that you would choose a bluesy slide guitar and a voice talent with such a homey, Southern accent. I don’t really associate golf with the Deep South. When I think of golf and typical golfers, I’m more likely to think of classical music and a professional, even upscale speech pattern. Someone speaking Standard American English or even British Received Pronunciation would probably sound best. Of course, I don’t know your target market. If most golfers actually live in Mississippi, then by all means keep it the way it is.
Â
My last comment on the homepage is that it wasn’t until I scrolled all the way down to the bottom that I learned this is not a totally free service; you start charging after three rounds of golf a year. I feel like you’re trying to hide that from me by planting it all the way at the bottom. Many people would never scroll down this far.
Â
Let’s move on to the page I landed on when I clicked “check out the options.” By the way, how do I get to this page other than from this small link at the bottom of the homepage? You need to have a tab called “Pricing” in your header that links to this page. As I said, most people will not scroll down to the bottom of the homepage, so pricing info needs to be more accessible. Anyway, the first thing I notice about the pricing page is that it’s very plain. Again, it needs a colored background at the least. Some images or graphics would be great. The next thing I notice is that I’m confused by your pricing plans. So…if I sign up for a “professional” account, which presumably costs more than a “personal” account since you won’t show me the price, I still have to see ads? Why? And, frankly, I don’t want to have to go through an application process to see what the price is. Just give it to me straight, please.
Â
Moving farther down the page, I see you have some stuff that’s not really appropriate for a pricing page. This info about deleting an account should be part of an FAQ or cancellation page, and the contact form should really be on a separate contact page.
Â
I tried to check out some of your other tabs. The tab called “my golf” redirects to your homepage. I’m not sure why “maps” takes me to a map of golf courses in Texas. The “support” page seems incomplete, both in terms of design and the information presented. The links are too small, there’s too much blank, white space, and there isn’t that much info about how to use your app here. The page called “courses” again seems Texas-centric, but at least you let visitors search in other areas of the country. The “news” page has nothing worth commenting on yet except the weekly weather, which is a nice touch. I see you have two pages for coordinating “partners” and “rounds,” but I don’t really understand why these are tabs on the homepage. These are pages only members would need to view, so they should be accessible only after sign-in. Also, once I click on these pages, I can’t get back to the homepage no matter how many times I click on your logo or backarrow. In fact, quite bizarrely, I can’t get back to your homepage at all, no matter what I do. Even when I reopen my browser in another window and enter your homepage URL, it keeps taking me back to the “rounds” page. I’m thinking you must’ve sent me a cookie and now that I’ve been deeper into your site, it’s reading that and redirecting me back there whenever I enter your URL. That’s really annoying…Ok, it finally let me access another page, this time your blog. Once again, this is extremely plain–no visuals, just a bunch of text crowded together. Not very reader-friendly. Your “press” page seems like it will feature links to press releases. Okay. But why is your “About Teeboxer” section at the bottom? Shouldn’t that be the intro? Your “contact” page looks functional but, as usual, plain. If you want to promote a newsletter, it’s okay to have a separate page, but offering a sign-up on the homepage often works better.
Â
Wish I could get back to your homepage. After reading through your tabs, I’d probably suggest some reorganization on your homepage navbar, but since I can’t get back to the homepage, I can’t comment on that.
Â
My final impression is that you have a good concept, but the execution of it leaves something to be desired. The site is way too bare bones. It needs some appealing visuals, it needs better organization, and it needs to get rid of some glitches. You also need to be more upfront about the fact that this is a paid service. I know you don’t want to discourage new users, but people also don’t like it when they feel tricked. Get them used to the idea of paying right away but frame it positively by including a big, bright button on the homepage that says, “Try it for free!” or “Three rounds free each year!”
Â
Good luck!

Thanks Zeke, great points all. The audio tracks are problematic, need some work there vs. people’s volume settings (especially for older laptops and under-desktops.) Also really see your points about selling above the fold, there’s just not much there unless you’re in a video kind of mood—and usually, even I am not.
Since you saw a render issue with both the nav bar and the text and video overlapping , would you mind sharing your browser version and OS version, and what your browser’s global and text zoom settings are, e.g., WinXP IE8 zoom + 1?
Thanks again.

Visit https://teeboxer.com – what draws your attention, where do you want to click first?
The bright blue sky from the video is catches my attention first. Immediatly want to click on that first to see whats is next. I really like the picture on the homepage being that a great looking golf course is really eye catching to any golfer or golfing website. The only thing that I would change is that I would like to have seen the golf course more clearly. The sky portion of the picture is really pretty but I think that it is a tad bit to large for my taste.
Watch the explanatory video (main video at top of first page.) What do you think Teeboxer does and would you want to use it for that?
First I must say wow, you have certainly taken golf planing to the next level. Teeboxer allows people to organize, create and schedule golf outing with friends, family or a new partner. Your site allows you to either work from your tradtional desktop, laptop or mobile device. It even intergrates golf sharing through popular social networking sites. If I was really into golfing this site would be something that would be really nice. I must say that I don’t understand the old movie clip that is inserted in the video. I like that you have various screen shots throughout the video but I think that it goes way to fast. I understand that the video was a not a tutorial but it would have been nice to those parts more clearly since you have them featured. The voice on the video doesn’t seem to fit it has more a country western voice to it. I do like that it sound relaxed but the again it sounds to country.
Click Get Started. What’s your first reaction? Would you want to continue using this quick-start and/or Teeboxer at this point? (Many people exit here so any thoughts would be really helpful.)
My first thought is that I don’t like that you start your heading with a lowercase letter. It seems like a more relaxed way to get peole to see the info but I prefer a clean and professional feel. I think that the language can be relaxed a change in font would work. I must say that visually these page is really boring. There are no colors that pop and the area of possible sign in a quit small. The line are narrow and have no bold appeal. I see that you say sign in with three easy steps but why even say that at all when you really donn’t even need all of the steps. You said it yourself that you don’t even need to sign in to us teeboxer at all. I understand that you want to give user options but sometimes it can be to much of a good thing. I would want to leave myself because I don’t see how your sites works in choosing the different ways to sign up. Your site seems to make it more confusing as to how to sign in. My question would be if I did create an account to your site how would that compare to just signing in with any of the other options? Most people want just quickly sign in, get some a username and password conformation and have their contacts linked. It would be nice to just sign in to you site and link as many accounts as I want to it without having to sign in various way. Lots of people don’t have the same contacts on every site. I also think that the scheduling section shoud be placed in another area. I almost feel forced to starting setting up places to golf and to pick people to do it with. I would like to see a sction of the location area where I can type in my city, state and or zip and see a list of the most popular courses. In addition adding contact info, rating and prices would be a great addition. I understand that al of this would have more would but I think that it would really boost your staying power.
If you plan a round how does that experience match or deviate from the expectations you had from the first page and explanatory video (or the how-to videos if you chose to watch any)?Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated! Is there anything else you’d care to share about Teeboxer?
I’m not sure if missed something but I don’t see any other how to videos. The experience was very lack luster to say the least. There seemed to be no easy flow as to how the layout was designed. I found myself looking all over the page just wanting to leave. You say that your site is free but then you have an add that says “a year of teeboxer only 49 dollars.” I’m just confused. The site seemed really fun and interactive in the video but as of right now I don’t see that at all. You have several tabs to click on that I just found my randomly clicking on things on the screen. I think that you need to have a flow and direction to your page with I think it lacks. As I stated before the colors are so boring that visually your site may want a person not to even continue on using it. When I think of golfing I see vibrant blue, greens maybe some or orange and red. Because you have a site this is detailed then you should user friendly tabs, videos, a tour, something to show how your site works in action. I site plans to make golf relaxing but instead I found it to be hard.
Thanks, I appreciate the feedback and I particularly like your point about the quick-start being a trap or dead-end for people who wanted to know more but weren’t ready to plan just yet (I hope I interpreted that correctly.) But, all are good points, so thanks again.
Â
Thanks, sounds like Teeboxer was a dead-end for you because of the incomplete rendering of the homepage–sorry about that. If you could provide any information about your browser setup or post a screenshot somewhere it’d be really helpful (I don’t see a way to include here on StartupLift so don’t worry about it if you don’t have another easy way to handle that.)
Â
I’m with you 100% on wizards, and thanks for the clarification about the quick-start issue. Also great points about the mobile—it’s just a whole different user context calling for a different UX.
“Could your program open these two apps up simultaneously?”
In theory it could with some but not others, and your example of Facebook and Twitter is a good example because the sign in/authorization pop-up Twitter has is almost as large as most people’s browser windows. Then others, like Salesforce and Plaxo want the main user window to be redirected to their site and then back to Teeboxer, sans popup.
Â
Thanks, a lot of very accurate points—really appreciate the clarity—lot’s to mull over here.
“I also don’t care for your aversion to capital letters”
Had a good laugh when I read this: you nailed it—wish I knew where I get that aversion from.

What draws your attention, where do you want to click first?  I want to click on the arrow thats what draws me it stands out the most, but the picture itself is not great the characters are too far away form the screen shot. I think maybe a picture of a few golfers on the green itself goin for a putt would work better.                             Watch the explanitory video(main video at top of first page.) What do you think teeboxer does and would you want to use it for that.? I think that this idea is great it cooridinates your family, freinds, all the people in your network and goes to all the different social sites taking arranging golf to a whole another level. The video is informative but it goes to quick and the guy talking has a bland voice im not saying get someone on there being loud and crazy, but a bit more excitement and personality. I think that the site seems a bit plain but easy to go through i would use this site it is a wonderful idea and the fact you can use it on your laptop and phone is great.                                           Click get started.Whats your first reaction? Would you want to continue using this quick start and or teeboxer at this point?( many people exit here so any thoughts would be really helpful.) I think that its easy to go through and yes i would use this quick start it makes it easy, most people like easy and the fact you use quick start is a good eye catcher. I think that also its a bit vague it needs more options for courses and sort of a search engine to help the average joe be more informed on what, when, and where to golf. I think also maybe add some kind of referal sytem to get the best rates at the best courses.            If you plan a round how does that experiance match or deviate from the expectations you had from the first page and explanitory video(or the how to videos if you choose to watch any)? Thank you for your feedback its much appreciated! Is there anything else you’d care to share about teeboxer?  I think the concept is great the social networking is great, but the site seems to plain not enough colors. The guy talking is not exciting enough but dosnt need to be to crazy lol, although the setup seems easy it can be a little confusing the vidoe is all over the place and way too much information at too fast of a pace. I als see that you say its free and for the most part its true but a year subscription is offered and that would be ok if there was an incentive offered.

First of all let me say, the website looks simple and realy cool.
The olive green colour used at the top is an absorbing colour, something like the lighter shades of turqoise blue may be more appealing. A description of your website in words may be more helpful because in a later stage if you want to expand this to third world countries like india, where internet and broadband are still scarce, i think a description in words may be a little helpfull.
Am in a dilema where to click first 🙂 We need to scroll the webpage to see all the information, I would suggest to reduce the length of the webpage, coz there is a lot of unused space on both sides, try to utilize that space more efficiently, or unlike leaving those space blank, u can atleast provide a graphics such as a line drawing of a man playing golf which can make the website look more appealing.
Watch the explanatory video (main video at top of first page.) What do you think Teeboxer does and would you want to use it for that?
Am sorry, the video did not stream in my computer, will check the technical details and will let you know.

I would like to suggest a different interface. Always try to lead people with a little curiosity.ie, if u see all the three steps in a page including the courses people may leave without registration being completed.Apart from this, you may take the registration one at a page, login > selection > etc
If you plan a round how does that experience match or deviate from the expectations you had from the first page and explanatory video (or the

The how-to videos may be given as thumbnails. ( may be the thumbnail contains a girl playing golf, exploit the curiosity of human mind 🙂 )

NOting much 😉
I’m very happy to have a reply after I posted a comment. Most would just say thank you, some even don’t border.Â
Yes to me you sounds like Heath Leger in his cowboy role.Â
I have checked a few other comments out here and seems that they have some problems on the alignment and layout. I am using Chrome, and I don’t have much problem; you can run a browser check at browsershots.org/
Have you ever thought of using your appication on varies sports activities too? Or you would like to focus on golf as start?

Well it obvious to me that the video is the first thing I want to click on. Its placement is smack dab in the middle of the page and the picture grabs your attention.
Watch the explanatory video (main video at top of first page.) What do you think Teeboxer does and would you want to use it for that?
Teeboxer is an application where you can link all your favorite social sites together and set up a tee time for you and friends. I have seen a lot of “link together apps” coming out lately and I am glad to see one with an actual purpose! I have never actually played golf but my twin does and I am telling him right away about this one!!!
Click Get Started. What’s your first reaction? Would you want to continue using this quick-start and/or Teeboxer at this point? (Many people exit here so any thoughts would be really helpful.)
Well my first reaction was to look for the registration link. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there is no registration! All you have to do is click on your social network and log in using that, its so cool! Because there is no registraion and your email is optional I would absolutley use teeboxer. The one thing I hate when using new apps is that there’s a long registration and then you start recieving emails constantly from them. With teeboxer I dont get any of that hassel. Great job!!!
If you plan a round how does that experience match or deviate from the expectations you had from the first page and explanatory video (or the how-to videos if you chose to watch any)?
I did not plan a round of golf but I looked over the process very closely and I found that the planning of a rould was much simpler than anticipated! The feed pops up on my facebook page very quickly.
Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated! Is there anything else you’d care to share about Teeboxer?
Like I said earlier I myself don’t play golf but my twin does so while I was giving feedback I called him on speaker and gave him your site addy. He is so excited about this! Hes already planning his next round as I type LOL

Plan golf faster gathers my attention first but the video is where I want to click first and the get started is where I want to click second.
Watch the explanatory video (main video at top of first page.) What do you think Teeboxer does and would you want to use it for that?
I think the video is cool, but I also am a little intimidated by it. It looks like there is a lot of setting up to be done. Back to the question: From the video I think Teeboxer helps you to set up a tee time and through itself and much use of the social networks it alerts your friends, etc. of the game time and to invite them wherever they are. I don’t play golf myself but this looks like a good way to get a game set up. It looks like you could use it to schedule many different types of activities.
Click Get Started. What’s your first reaction? Would you want to continue using this quick-start and/or Teeboxer at this point? (Many people exit here so any thoughts would be really helpful.)
My first reaction is WOW they want a lot of info up front, since I am not really sure if I am going to keep using this service I don’t want it all connected to my social accounts right now. This could be why people exit here. They don’t take the time to read that you can use the service without signing up your social accounts.
I took the time to keep playing along with the scenario and skipped to step 3 and set up a tee time. This all went ok but thinking to myself that if I skip using the social aspect how is this really any different than just sending emails? I do however like that when you click on details and other links that it shows the weather reports for the days you may be playing your rounds. When I tried the share link on the right half of the page in the upper half it brought up a pop up window that I could not dismiss /cancel I was stuck on it unless I chose to incorporate a social site. I also liked the map feature but you could make it better if you could route your own directions to the course and print it out.
If you plan a round how does that experience match or deviate from the expectations you had from the first page and explanatory video (or the how-to videos if you chose to watch any)?
I would say that the expectations from the intro video to the set up procedure were the same. Trying to set up a round was intimidating because of the constant pursuance for you to sign up the social pages. Personally I would not use this service because I think you can do the same with texting and emails with today’s smart phones.

I am ultimately not too familiar with this subject but I do prefer to have a look at blogs for layout recommendations and interesting subjects. You actually described a topic that I quite often do not care considerably about and created it pretty fascinating. That is a wonderful blog that I’ll take note of. I by now bookmarked it for long term reference. Lung Cancer Symptoms
