  1. 1. First impression – I like that you have games on your site. You use their brands to build your credibility.

Why is your site brand “treet.me” but your button on the games spelled “treat me”. I think it should be consistent and not different.

Your homepage does not tell me exactly what Treating is or what it does.

    2. I clicked a purple box to Treat me, however nothing happened. Confusing as to what you offer.

    3. Still not sure what treating is. Gonna click the FAQ. The FAQ explains my question but these answers need to be on the homepage, or at least the first two questions.

    4. Xpango seems to have more emphasis on mobile phones and other electronics, whereas your site seems to only have video games.

    5. The Live Chat is annoying because it asks me for help, but I ask if it is a real person and it doesn’t reply. If I am told it is a live chat, yet no one is there, that is misleading. I don’t want to talk to a bot named “Andy”

Then got a return message: Your chat session was disconnected because it was idle for too long.

If you have to log in before clicking the treat button, that needs to be spelled out on the homepage. As is, clicking treat me does nothing.

Why do you say twice, “We’re in private beta!” Get an invite to share your treat?  Duplicate box?

It says you have DVDs Blu Rays and Albums, but your homepage only shows video games. That is misleading.

  2. 1) Visit https://www.treet.me. What is your initial impression of what you see? Are you immediately drawn to login with your Facebook? Why or why not?
The very first thing that I thought upon looking at the site was the site name and the logo with the word “Treats”.  Not knowing what the site was about, I thought it was for homemade dog treats.  My eyes played tricks on me and I saw the logo as a paw print rather than three bodies.  Then I saw the familiar X-Box logo and games, so it made me reexamine the site.  I am protective of my Facebook account, so I generally shy away from anything that requires that login.  I was taken back by the weird wording of “request a treat to them today”.  Who is “them”?  What am I requesting?  But it did cause me to look further down at the actual “how it works” section.  After reading this section, I was still a little leery in that my friends are required to accept a random offer or purchase in order for me to receive my desired “treat”.  Can I choose the offer?  Is it something I, myself am interested in trying or have tried?  Do I have a say in what is being offered to my friends?
    2) Select a treat that you want. Did you find something you wanted? Was it a pleasant experience? I think that the treat selection is great because I own an X-Box 360.  I noticed that in the “How does it work?” section that it mentions the newest video game or latest album from your favorite artist, so I assume there will be a greater selection when this site is out of beta.
    3) Are you encouraged to share your treat with your friends? If not, why?
I mentioned above that I was curious about the “offer” that my friends would have to purchase or try.  I like to keep my friends and not make them feel like I’m using them to get free stuff.  There is a fine line between helping each other out and using your friendships for selfish gain.  But if the offer were something that I use or have tried and want to suggest it to my friends and I happen to get a “treat” if they try it as well, then I think that would be a good win/win.
    4) How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like http://www.freebiejeebies.co.uk and http://www.xpango.com?
I like that Freebiejeebies has a testimonial tab for me to read others thoughts about the program.  I find freebiejeebies vague on how you are obtaining “free” things.  It mentions on it’s home page that you provide customers to companies.  It is much more vague about how you actually accomplish this task.  The interface on freebiejeebies is quite boring and prefer the fun interface of treet.me.  I really like the intro video on the expango.com.  The fun animated characters make it seems effortless and fun.  I also preferred the tabs with each prize and the point system was clear.  The interface was much more enjoyable and fun.  The pictures of the prizes were much more professional and made the products appear new.  The Freebiejeebie photos of the prizes looked like someone had taken photos of the products in their garage.  Who knows if the “prizes” were real or refurbished.  The photos of the games on treet.me. were clear and didn’t make me question their quality.
    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I think that treet.me is on the right track.  I like the way in which you presented the “treats” with the “7 friends” and the “treat me” buttons.  I like this way of presenting the available treats the best out all the competitors’ sites.  I would love to see an introductory video added and I would eliminate the “request a treat to them today” reworded.  I’m not sure as well if I can be a part of the offers and be included in the 7 friends count towards my own treat.

  3. What is your initial impression of what you see? Are you immediately drawn to login with your Facebook? Why or why not?
My first impression is that I don’t really understand what “treats” (or “treets,” as you call them) have to do with computer games. I guess I get it–you’re treating people to a free game. But the association isn’t strong enough for me to readily connect a site called Treet Me with games. Also, it took me a second to realize that the logo I thought was a paw print was really supposed to represent three people! The “paw print” combined with the word “treet” actually made me think this was a pet-related site for a few seconds.

My second impression, if you will, is that I like the bold blue and purple, although they don’t suggest gaming to me as much as colors like black, red, orange, and yellow. I’m not a gamer, but I recognize some of the games you listed, so I know they’re games people like to play. However, I have to scroll down below the fold to figure out how I can access the game, and I’m immediately disappointed that I have to convince other people to sign up for stuff first.

So, no, I’m not immediately drawn to log in to Facebook. I’m immediately drawn to find out what your site provides and if I want to use that service. In this case, the answer is no since I’m not a gamer and also don’t want to have to sell my friends on stuff they don’t want.

Select a treat that you want. Did you find something you wanted? Was it a pleasant experience?
I started to answer this by saying, “Well, I’m not a gamer.” But then when I clicked on “Treats,” I saw that you had movies and music, as well. When I returned to your home page, I also realized that you stated this right in your tagilne. However, I completely overlooked it. I don’t know if that says something about me or something about the way the site is constructed. When I landed on your home page, my eyes went straight to the video games, and right away I thought, “Oh, a gaming site.” I’d suggest that you mix up the home page a little more–have maybe one row of games, one row of movies, and one row of music. That way people who don’t read carefully (like me!) will immediately see that this is more than just a gaming site. All that said, when I finally went to pick out a movie or album, I saw that your selection was very limited, and I didn’t particularly want any of the ones you had.

Are you encouraged to share your treat with your friends? If not, why?
No, because I don’t feel right about pushing my friends to buy stuff so I can get something for free. I might feel differently if the arrangement was that we could all get something for free. Otherwise, I’d just be annoying my friends with no benefit to them.

How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like http://www.freebiejeebies.co.uk and http://www.xpango.com?
I was afraid to look at that Freebiejeebies site because it got such a poor Web of Trust rating. Xpango looks like it’s more geared towards electronics and hardware. The site looks much more professional and more “finished” than Treet Me. Also, I like that Xpango allows users to earn credits by completing “Offers” themselves and by advertising with referral links, not just by referring friends. In addition, Xpango doesn’t appear to be tied to Facebook. That’s great for people who either don’t use Facebook or don’t want to use it for a service like this.

Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
Home Page: I already mostly covered this, but I’ll add that I think you should take “How does it work?” off the home page. It gets lost below the fold. You don’t have a lot of tabs up top, so you could easily add a “How It Works” tab and move this info there. Your Twitter feed is also just about invisible. I’d move it up into the left or right margin. In addition, I almost missed your “Feedback” and “Live Support” buttons. They’re small and oddly placed. I’d put a “Contact” tab at the top and have options for live support and feedback on that page instead of here.

Treats: Again, I think you could use a better variety here. Also, your standard greeting on this page to those who haven’t signed in is, “Hi null.” That made me laugh. I suggest you only activate the greeting if someone has signed in.

FAQ: Copy doesn’t read as professional work, but it’s completely understandable and gets the job done.

Other issues: Once I’m off the home page, clicking the treet.me logo in the upper left corner doesn’t take me back there, and I have to use my back arrow, sometimes repeatedly. Please make your logo link to your home page.

My overall impression is that this is a very new site, probably operated by just one or two people. It doesn’t feel slick or professional, but I think your audience will probably be young and won’t mind.

Personally, my main issue with Treet Me is that it only works if you’re on Facebook. For those of us who choose not to use Facebook or who only use it for professional reasons, using your service is not an option. Again, that may not be a problem for you because your intended market is probably quite young, and most people in that demographic do use Facebook for personal reasons. However, you should just be aware that you’re automatically eliminating anyone who doesn’t.

My other issue with Treet Me is the method used to earn treats. I really don’t want to earn a reputation among my friends as that annoying person who’s always trying to sell them on retail offers so I can get this or that thing I want. I prefer the Xpango method, which allows the user him-/herself to accept the retail offers or even advertise them online through referral links. Other possible ways to earn points that would be more to my liking: completing surveys, registering at web sites, and friending, tweeting about, reviewing, or otherwise plugging products or companies. These are all methods that would rely on me to take some action, not my friends.

Anyway, good luck! I think you can have a viable web site with a few changes in tactics.

  4.
    1) Visit https://www.treet.me. What is your initial impression of what you see? Are you immediately drawn to login with your Facebook? Why or why not?

While the colors were nice. I felt it was a little too simple and really doesn’t make me want to look at the site. I really had no idea what the site was all about and trying to understand is not easy. As for logging in with my Facebook it is not something I like to do much. If there is a way I can have a sample of how the treats work I might be more inclined to join with my facebook. I do like that you are bale to share with other social networks. But can only login with FB to get to the option of sharing with the other social networks. I think have just a general sign up and then link with FB, Twitter, etc.

    2) Select a treat that you want. Did you find something you wanted? Was it a pleasant experience?
I did not select a treat as I had to login with my FB account. now if I was about to look at treats and see what was available and what needed to be done to earn that treat would be nice. I don’t want to join something I know very little about. Also I have friends in other countries will they be able to use the offers to help me get my treats? One thing to consider is letting people look at what treats are available and if they want to add it then have the log into FB that way if there is nothing they want they are not required to login.

    3) Are you encouraged to share your treat with your friends? If not, why?
Not at this time. I would like to know what the offers are that my friends would be getting I don’t want to send friends offers on things they would never use it’s no good to them and doesn’t help me get my treats.

    4) How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like http://www.freebiejeebies.co.uk and http://www.xpango.com?
Well I think what makes it different from the other 2 sites is that its only geared toward movies, music, and games. It doesn’t include much more then that so if I am someone who like movies this could be a good way to get movies along with helping out others with various discounts.

    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I like that this is going after a market that likes to get things at a discount or free. It needs a little polish. I think really having a way of looking at what is available maybe even a short video showing how it works would help. As I still am trying to understand.

  5. 1.  Initial impression is good-  Simple and good color combinations remind me of movies, music…
Spelling of Treet and Treat should be consistent.  Or possibly  Tweat.me?  There should not be duplicate treats shown.  The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and MDNA are up there twice making me think there
aren’t very many treats available.  Maybe have Friends Needed instead of just Friends  by the treat to better convey the message.  I think “Ask For a Treat- Get the Latest Games, DVD, Blu rays and Albums” is shorter and more concise.  “How Does it Work”  needs to be higher up on the webpage, so readers can easily find out how this works
I’m not immediately drawn to sign up on Facebook, because I’m still not sure if there are enough treets that would interest me.  There are only 4 shown on the webpage.
2.When I Select a Treat it does nothing.  I guess you have to sign up on Facebook before you can see all the treats, which I feel is a BIG drawback.  I am reluctant as I think most people are, to sign up for something I’m not sure will have something I’m interested in.
    3. Yes, I would be encouraged to share my treat with others if it was something I wanted.  The # of friends needed is low and I think most people would think they could get that with maybe a few personal facebook messages…
    4. I like the website compared to xpango which to me is too cluttered and I don’t even want to read thru all the page to figure out how it works…  Your website seems similar to freebiejeebies.  It is simple and I like the freebiejeebies changing pictures.  But you have a better, simpler explanation on what you are.
    5. I think the biggest drawback on the webpage is the few treats that are actually shown.  Initially, it looks like you only have 4.  You must read the FAQ’s or go ahead and sign up on Facebook to see all the treats or know that Recently Shared Treats is showing just a Sample.
I went to Live Support Online and it kept saying “just a moment”

Maybe combine some of the answers on the FAQ-Like How Does it work and How is it Free

    How does it work?
Share your treat on Facebook and when the number of friends next to the item use an offer, you’ll receive the treat – FREE!

Also, shipping and destination-  We offer WORLDWIDE shipping FREE

  6. 1)      Visit https://www.treet.me. What is your initial impression of what you see? Are you immediately drawn to login with your Facebook? Why or why not?
Your site looks very well done and professional. I really like the color choices and the layout is crisp and clean. I like that you put a simple three step system of how your site works because otherwise it would be hard to understand. Yes I would be drawn to login in just to see how your site works. I am curious to see how the offers work and what you have to do for that to count to be counted to get the user closer to getting a treat. I wonder if people would have to sign up for credit cards or order something in order for me to get a treat. I also wondered how are the number of people determined for each treat?  The only thing “downfall” is that users may not want to open a Facebook account to use your site so an online community of your own may be a nice idea.
    2)      Select a treat that you want. Did you find something you wanted? Was it a pleasant experience?
I really liked that you had a full selection of treats to choose from. Putting them by type would allow for users to go right to what they were looking for. I think that users should be able to browse the selection of treats to get the whistles wet because users hate logging into sites only to find that it was of no use to them at all. The experience was pleasant overall.
    3) Are you encouraged to share your treat with your friends? If not, why?
I would be a little hesitant because of the offers that come into play with a site like yours. I have done plenty of survey sites for cash in the past and the expecting and then cancelling of offers was a real pain. When I would sign up for offers I would get bombarded with offers from them and third parties and I would not like to use my friends in such a manner. If the others were ones that my friends or myself would use then everyone would be happy. The fact that someone I know would possibly have to share personal info with a random company to get me a “treat” is not to comforting.
    4) How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like http://www.freebiejeebies.co.uk and http://www.xpango.com?
    http://www.freebiejeebies.co.uk
I liked how I could sign up with their website and that they were upfront about how a user would get a free gift. Your site looks more professionally done then theirs which lacks the “fun” appeal that your site has. I like that they had testimonial right there users to see. People want to see real success they put it right out there for others to see. Having various page for users to go to can seem little burdensome making users shift between this site and the next. I would much rather have everything on one site.
    http://www.xpango.com
I really that this site had a video that showed exactly what they do a in a fun way with lots of details. A user would definitely know what they are getting into when it comes to the offers. I like that a user could build credits off of those people they referred and they the user could also  complete offers to get their own treats. It’s quite different when you are solely depending on other people to get items for you and with this site you contribute to your own prize. I like that you can sign up on the site and also share via the social networking site. They also take the guess work out users can be sought after from anywhere and they can deliver anywhere free of charge.
    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I don’t understand why you have a duplicate box on the homepage about being in beta and sharing treats. I was not to keen to see the same prized listed on the homepage under the recently shared. I know there must be more treats than having the same ones. Doing this does not the show the range of treats that your site can offer. I think that your site should not only be limited to those of facebook and that you as a user can only get treats if others complete the offer. I think that you need to go into more info about custom treat? Can a user switch to another treat they want and still have their friends previous help go towards the newly chosen treat? What is your resolve if a treat has arrived and it is damaged or broken? Great site just needs a little tweaking.

  7. 1) Visit https://www.treet.me. What is your initial impression of what you see? Are you immediately drawn to login with your Facebook? Why or why not?
While I liked ‘the Look’ of the site, I don’t like that you have to log in via facebook. I never do that and with no other option I would pass on joining.
I originally thought that the site was for pet treats as the logo of the 3 little people figures were not clear and at first I thought it was a paw print logo.
I think that you should be consistent in your spelling of your brand name. Use treat or treet ,but not both easier to remember a brand if it is always spelled the same.

    2) Select a treat that you want. Did you find something you wanted? Was it a pleasant experience?
I didn’t select a treat as I want to be able to browse and see what it is all about without using facebook to log in. I would think a genera login with thee ability to share with your facebook and twitter and such would be better an more of a draw.
    3) Are you encouraged to share your treat with your friends? If not, why?
No, I don’t like to use my facebook for spamming my friends feed, as they would all delete me very quickly
Also, just because something interests me doesn’t mean it interests them.

    4) How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like http://www.freebiejeebies.co.uk and http://www.xpango.com?
I like that on those sites you have a general login and don’t have to use facebook to login
I also like their clearer faq section. Even like Xpango.coms video that explains pretty clearly what they are and how they work. Your faq section is not that informative and I don’t feel the need to look into it very far as fasr as treats go because I like the need to know stuff to be front and center, not something you have to dig for
    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I think with a bit of tweaking and some more of the important info being displayed on the front page and a general login to get into the site it is a great idea!

  8. 1) Visit https://www.treet.me. What is your initial impression of what you see? Are you immediately drawn to login with your Facebook? Why or why not?
My first impression is honestly – WOW this looks cool. I am intrigued right off the bat. I am drawn to login with facebook because it looks interesting and I want to learn more.
    2) Select a treat that you want. Did you find something you wanted? Was it a pleasant experience?
Yes I did find several things I wanted and it was a pleasant experience. It is a simple process.
    3) Are you encouraged to share your treat with your friends? If not, why?
Yes I am encouraged to treat with my friends.
    4) How do you think the site compares to other similar sites/competitors like http://www.freebiejeebies.co.uk and http://www.xpango.com?
I don’t think it does compare, I think this is completely different.

    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I am excited to see where this goes in the future.

  9. Hi, my name I Sarah and I went to the treetme website. When I first went to the site, all of the different products caught my attention right away. I was drawn to look more into what the website was about. All of the different products that where featured made me want to go on facebook and get started right away.

The item I liked was the ipad. I currently don’t have one, and I am planning on getting one soon, so I was drawn to it.
I am encouraged to share the treetme site with my friends on facebook because it is a way I can get what I want without paying much. I think my friends will find this site interesting also. We can all help each other out to get what we want.

From my experience with other sites like this, it is really different from the other sites.  It doesn’t automatically tell you how many offers you have to complete in order to get the product. It tells you to go to your facebook, unlike other sites like this one. The site has a variety of products for a person to choose from, which can draw different types of people.

  10. First impression – Why is there so much very dark purple on the left side? In general, I think a website like this, which is intended for fun, to surprise someone with a nice “treat” should have brighter colors.

Another impression was that it was a little busy, but genius to product place the way you have. I did not want to sign in w/ facebook but that’s only for personal reasons.

    CONSISTENCY = CREDIBILITY

Things really ought to be spelled the same from one page to the other; color schemes, font sizes, etc also apply.

Also, I had to look for over thirty seconds (which is a lifetime online) to actually understand what you did. You can address more info on the front page, maybe in a white bubble, maybe write it in all that purple space.

I’ve never used Xpango.com, and I think I may be the only person in the Western Hemisphere without a smart phone.
I never like the live chat things; I’ve tried to use them on all sorts of websites, from medication, to purchasing a car, to arguing with the electric company to anything. Usually the answers are very slow from “Jesse” or whoever that faceless not-human being is on the other side. Furthermore, the answers are incredibly “form-letter” ish- that’s not good.
If you have to log in before clicking the treat button, that needs to be spelled out on the homepage. As is, clicking treat me does nothing.
I also noticed that while several video games were featured, and that will definitely appeal to the younger crowd (and make you the bain of every parents’ existence, lol), you also mention movies/blurays, but I didn’t see any listed. If those were listed, it would be a much more likeable site by parents and girlfriends everywhere.

    🙂
