Note to Feedback Providers:
Please note that startups are looking for in-depth feedback that gives them thorough, insightful and actionable input. A ‘superficial’ submission that does not add value, is not thorough (i.e. written in a hurry, with poor grammar, punctuation etc.) and does not offer any constructive feedback is not particularly helpful and will therefore be rejected.

  1. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?

My first impression is that there is a big fun photo of a bi-plane and that Trveler was probably chosen because the Traveler domain was already taken. (Seriously, that was my thought and wondering if there was a better option.)

I am also wondering what is meant by spontaneous travel. If I get 2 options a week and only 1 trip, doesn’t that mean that there is plenty of time to prepare? So what makes it spontaneous?

Another thought I have is: will most people be able to take a trip every 3 months? Can these be weekend trips? This is answered below.

The information on top (above the fold/scroll) does get me curious enough to want to see more.

As I scroll down and I am disappointed because I wouldn’t really get 2 options a week. There are only a total of 8 options and they don’t start until the second month. In this day and age where integrity and “under promise over deliver” are keys, I would be cautious on this is phrased.

Do I get anything the first month or the third month?

A video instead of the large photo would provide greater information and would keep people visiting longer than the 6-second average.

What I want to find are sample packages. What packages have you had before? What made them spontaneous? What ratings did people give them, any feedback?

This is something that I would want to see before I signed up even for a free trial. These days many people are reluctant to sign up on a site that they aren’t familiar with because of identity theft. I won’t to know that you are real and that it is worth my time to explore the free trial.

Also, is there any networking on your site? Are there any groups or connecting with others who are booking the same packages?

    3) Are you encouraged to (create a new account, subscribe, sign up for a free trial, etc.)? Can you tell us why (or why not)?

I would want to see more information before signing up for a free trial, such as a video of how it works and of previous trips, as mentioned above. I realize that there are sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn that don’t provide such information, but 99.9% of people registering the first time are already familiar with these sites.

    4) Does the idea seem appealing to you?

The basic concept seems appealing. The price is reasonable.

I’ve shared most of my thoughts already. I would really like more information upfront. What have some of the previous packages included: location, hotel, any site-seeing or special events, how were they spontaneous? Does the site provide any preparation for its members? Are there networking opportunities on the site? I think, that a video instead of the large photo (as attractive as it is) could provide some of this information and “About our services” page could provide the rest.

  2. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?

My first impression is a bit blurred, I think because of the large background picture of the plane behind the test. It was sort of hard to see and understand that it was a plane until I stared at it for a few seconds, then came back to read the text on the top. The text makes it very apparent what this site is for, subscription based, spontaneous travel.

The icons below do a good job to let you know what you are in for; get ready, be surprised, be spontaneous, and enjoy.

But after my initial look of the homepage I am left with quite a few questions and feel a bit overwhelmed by the research I may need to do to see if this is something that would work for me.

    2) Think of something you want to find on this website. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?

I want to try and find out what happens if I schedule a trip last minute and then I need to get out of it.
I was able to find the FAQ questions very easily on the top right hand navigation bar, the answer stated that they would ‘figure something out’ but that seems to ‘iffy’ to me. I’m not sure what that means or if it would be ‘figured’ out to my liking.

    3) Are you encouraged to (create a new account, subscribe, sign up for a free trial, etc.)? Can you tell us why (or why not)?

Once you click on a package you’re interested in you are encouraged to create an account.
I would imagine they want you to start an account so they can contact you easily, however I would be hesitant to start an account right now just because I only know a few details. I would be interested in hearing/seeing more specifics about some trips that have been offered, do you go out of all cities etc.
Until I know all pertinent information I really wouldn’t want to share my account info with this site.

    4) Does the idea seem appealing to you?

This idea does sound appealing to me, I like the idea of being spontaneous and surprised and having something to look forward to.

    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.

While I like the idea I do feel like there are not enough examples of trips or information for me to commit a monthly payment to this site. I need more information and details. Possibly a step by step scenario so I know how the travel works, how I get to the hotel, when I travel and how soon after I choose my selection etc. I do feel like if there were examples of City excursions then I’d have a better feel of what I was committing myself to.

  3. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
Hi, the site that I am reviewing today is ‘Trveler’. This is a travel website which offers you to take a trip every 3 months with the options of 2 cities per week at a reasonable rate.
My initial impression is really positive. The website looks very professional. The layout is very good too. It has all the information required. As we scroll down the page it builds your excitement levels. Be Ready-Get Surprised-Be spontaneous-Enjoy is the best portion of this page. It explains everything about the site and any other thing required. There is information regarding the packages you offer too, which is great. The testimonial portion is a good addition and the fact that it changes with time is an excellent touch. The only thing I feel that I could do without is the huge portion left out for the social media. The three emblems at the bottom of the page should be sufficient in my opinion. You could also add the top cities portion with the first image. What i’m trying to say is, behind ‘Travel Every 3 months, Get 2 Cities to Choose From Every Week, Starting at $129 / month’ you can have photos of the top cities which changes every few seconds or behind the testimonials. This would help the website homepage get shorter.

    2) Think of something you want to find on this website. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?
I tried to register on this site. There is a very convenient option for that. All you need is to scroll down the home page and select amongst the 3 different travel packages or i could simply click on the ‘register’ at the top of the page.
The information asked for the registration process is pretty basic. Username, name and hometown. So, the registration process seems pretty basic and I have no qualms whatsoever.

    3) Are you encouraged to (create a new account, subscribe, sign up for a free trial, etc.)? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
Yes, I would definitely like to create a new account on this page.
The website looks trustworthy. The packages offered seems reasonable and the offers seem exciting. So I think I would like to create an account and get travelling.

    4) Does the idea seem appealing to you?
Yes, for a avid traveler such an system seems to be attractive. There are many places you don’t visit because you don’t know about them. So this gives me an opportunity to explore new places and make more plans. Hence, I do feel that the idea is appealing and would love to see it pan out.
However, since I do not know much about the offers I would like to see that I can put in my preferences as in interests and therefore get more offers according that. So that I something I would look at.

    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I would like to say that your logo is absolutely fantastic so kudos on that.
I wish you all the very best for your endeavors and thank you for giving me an opportunity to review your site. It was a pleasure.

  4. 1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
My initial impression of the website was definitely positive. I really liked the idea and concept of the website. The layout of the website is quite modern and simple. I also liked that there is a floating Menu bar and that the website is linked to various social networking websites like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. I think linking social networking websites helps reach more prospective clients and also keeps the current clients updated. It helps them create a rapport with the company and also keeps them involved. I love the colours which have been used on the website and also the pictures. The little icons here and there and the pictures are really very high quality and makes the website look much more appealing. Including testimonials is also a very good idea because those are words from people who are using the service or have used it in the past and if they are satisfied, it will help a lot of people with their decision-making. It acts like the last push one needs to complete the transaction. A lot of space has been dedicated to each information. The name of the airplane companies which are involved has also been presented in a nice manner. I think it would be good if you do something like when I put my cursor on a particular logo, the colour changes to the original logo. I think that will make the website a little interactive. I also liked how the packages have been displayed. There is no confusion as to what each package includes or how much it costs. It has been presented as clearly as possible. Overall, I found the website easy to understand.

    2) Think of something you want to find on this website. Now try to find it. Did you find what you were looking for? Was anything confusing?
I wanted to looks for 2 things. 1) Frequently Asked Questions i.e. FAQ, to learn a little more about the website and the common problems involved, and 2) Contact/Feedback tab. I found both quite easily! There was no confusion.
Both the FAQ and the Contact option can be found on top, in the Menu bar. FAQ can also be found at the bottom of the page. I opened the FAQ page and I liked how the questions have been highlighted using the colour blue but to be honest, the presentation was not that appealing. There is a space after the first two questions and not after the rest of the questions. I think that should be corrected and a space should be left after each question to make it a little more presentable. Also when I clicked on the “Select a package now!” button, I was taken to the registration page instead of the package information page. But I did like the colour used for the button. It is hard to miss and looked really nice.
When I clicked on the Contact option, a pop up opened. I like that there is a contact option because that way I know that I can seek help if I have some problem or confusion. But I don’t like the idea of a contact form because I never know when I’ll be hearing back. I always prefer a feedback tab, a chat option (which is the best because we can talk to a representative immediately), an email id or a phone number.

    3) Are you encouraged to (create a new account, subscribe, sign up for a free trial, etc.)? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
I would love to create a new account and sign up for a free trial. It is because I found the company to be trustworthy and I really liked the concept very much. I love to travel and would always be travelling if I could. By using this website, I think I’ll get to see more places and experience new things because I would be prompted each week with 2 travel package options. So, it will be more likely for me to plan a trip more often. A free trial would be great to get a feel of the package and understand more clearly haw and what the website provides.

    4) Does the idea seem appealing to you?
Yes, absolutely! I love the idea!

    5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I think the website looks great and the idea definitely is. I’ll appreciate if you can add a video tutorial because, although, the FAQ includes a lot of information, it would be nice to hear and see it from your perspective. I have always found video tutorials to be helpful and engaging. I’d also love it if a little information is provided about the company on the homepage or maybe a About page is added to the website. I also think that the first picture on the website which has some information written on it should be replaced with a slide. That way, a lot more information can be provided by using the same amount of space. And it also makes the website a little more lively. For the Top Cities section, maybe the names of the cities can be changed to links, which open pages with some information about the particular city, some pictures of tourist attractions and comments from people who have visited that particular city by using the website’s services. Overall, I really liked the website and the concept and I think that making a few small changes would make the website even more better.
I’d like to thank you for providing me this opportunity to help you. Good luck with the website! Thanks.
