Yes. additional comments :
> its was hard to find freeshop, there is only one theme to select.
> if only one theme is availiable you may give that as default and not to ask user (may be you are building more,i dont know).
> the preview was not good, you may take the user directly to that page.
>the welcome email was packed with full of informations, you may organise a little more and try to include a little less.
>when I start a shop ,there are a lot of products in that already! its a bit confusing!they are not mine!!Â
Did you find the welcome email helpful?
I already mentioned, its helpful but its packed with a lot of informations which make user a bit confused.A new organisational strategy migh help.
What do you think of the shop’s admin interface? Was it easy to use?
The interface is good.(A wikipedian touch 😀 )

1)You must see there are competitors like “yahoo small business” and should day how your website is gonna differ from that, what more you can offer? keep in mind yahoo etc is more experiaced in the field and the brand name itself is a lot for many.
2) the tag “For a limited time only, get 25% off the normal monthly price for the first year. Hurry ends soon.” may be refined.
3)In benefits you may use simple language that anyone can understand, “Powerful low cost eCom solution” this is not that clear, what it is!
4)You may include some testimonials in the home page, which may be helpful.
5)The ‘BENEFITS’ may be more highlighted in the website.
6)follow on twitter, fb etc may be placed on the top of the website.
7)The free shop is hard to find. if you intend to provide a freeshop ,you may notify this on the home page, this can attract many customers to try your service. You may notify this in the pricing also.

It is a site for people to setup a website or page for their business and promote it on the internet.
What is your impression of the website?
It make me feel professionalism. The site content is simple and straight forward, but i lack of confidence on it, which mean that i do not know weather it really works or not. If i can have a free trial that would be great. Maybe you can give 1 month free trial for customer to experience your services to build satisfaction.Â
Do you understand what the website is about?
Yes, it is about helping customer to sell their product and promote it. Allowing customers to create a page or site for selling their product. The site provide various of tools in order to help market the customer’s product.Â
After spending more time on the website, what did you like/dislike about the website?
What i like is the homepage looks comfort to me, the layout looks professional. You stated the benefits of your site and the pricing and take a tour guide is very useful information for the visitors. What don’t like is the no testimonial area, is either you don’t put it or just leave it without a comment about the ‘ sorry, no testimonial here’. I would like to see a testimonial page is for the customers to comment on the site service which people can direct comment on it. And you can respond to it. Also the four keyword in your homepage which is the ‘turnshop setup’, optinmize for SEM’, etc, i couldn’t click on it. i wish i can click on it to have further explanation and further detail about it. I like the concept of your site service and you provide information about how to increase sale etc at the latest post.Â
Please create a FreeShop by clicking the Sign Up Today button then clicking the “Try TurnkeyShop free†link under the pricing matrix. Was the ShopBuilder easy to use?
Yes, the steps is very easy, at first, when i want to choose for the theme, it let be select the theme colors, when i select it, i would want to have a review of how it looks like for example like i select yellow as the theme color, i would like to see a review of how does it look like.
Please provide any additional comments on the ShopBuilder/sign-up process.
The process was easy to understand and use. The free signup and try should be stated in the homepage, so that people would likely to try it as free and they will judge whether they like it or not through there. If people see signup and require a fee they might not be signing up for it. You should put the  free try in the homepage for people to notice it. The process is clear, i dont feel there is anything to add, but i suggest you can make it more flexible like allowing customer to adjust the position of various element in their page, such as the menu bar, the search engine should place at the position that the user prefer. Also you can have a interface that allow user to drag and drop for any additional tools or feature in their page.Â
Did you find the welcome email helpful?
Yes, it provide many information about the website login until the support. it is very detailed and clear about each of the steps.
What do you think of the shop’s admin interface? Was it easy to use?
Yes, it is user friendly and it make me feel comfort.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I think i have mentioned most of it above. i suggest you can create a slideshows in the homepage to make the homepage looks more interesting, the slideshows can contain the steps of how it works or you can include some screenshot of your service, for example the new layout or theme. You can have some short description on it. You can state free to try now at the homepage to allow the visitor to have a try on it. Also The price is acceptable. Also provide more information about how customer can receive their payment and how they purchase your packages. You should list down the methods such as paypal or master card.

What is your impression of the website?
It looked professional and had a very pleasing layout. .
Do you understand what the website is about?
Not a lot on the actual business of what is or what could be a turnkey business or shop, but that isn’t what this site appears to be about. Anyone looking to create a professional, affordable storefront could use this site’s services. Very reminiscent of the standard website building firms such as Web.com, which I like and have used in the past.
Â
After spending more time on the website, what did you like/dislike about the website?
At first, I thought I would have like to have seen more on finding an actual turnkey business because I did not know too much about what kind of turnkey options are available, but that isn’t what this site is about, so I just went with the aspect of creating a website and enjoyed the process thoroughly. I would have preferred to have seen some testimonials or at the very least, some links to the websites who have used turnkeyshop.com’s services in order to see them and experience how they function in “real lifeâ€.
Â
Please create a FreeShop by clicking the Sign Up Today button then clicking the “Try TurnkeyShop free†link under the pricing matrix. Was the ShopBuilder easy to use?
It was fantastically easy to use. If I had a turnkey business, I would definitely be using this service as it made it so easy to create a professional website in a matter of minutes.
Please provide any additional comments on the ShopBuilder/sign-up process.
The sign up process was so easy and I loved that I immediately got a preview of the website I had created in literally just minutes.
Did you find the welcome email helpful?
Very much. I really liked that it covered so many aspects and gave directions on how to get those tips and suggestions within the email. I would have printed it off as it could have served as almost a checklist.
What do you think of the shop’s admin interface? Was it easy to use?
Yes. I have used Word Press in the past and was very comfortable with the design and function of the interface.
Â
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
This is a very well done site and would be fantastic for someone who has the business ready to go and only needs assistance in creating a professional looking store-page. The only thing I would have liked to have seen was the offer of the free option in order to really drive home how easy it was to set up and use. Once I went through the sign-up process, the service really sold itself and I got a better feeling about the website and the service it provided. Everything is clearly laid out and the previews give one a sense of the overall look of the site as well as making it easy to correct or add to the website with little effort. The free option offered a very attractive web-store that would have been more than serviceable and it was good to know that I could upgrade if I wanted to with equally little effort and time.

It’s software for making your business website look more professional(first impression)
What is your impression of the website?
The layout looks professional and up to code. There are bright colors and it catches my eye immediately when looking at it. Each category is big and easy to click.  The product tour page is very informative and again brightly colored and nicely organized.
Do you understand what the website is about?
Yes it’s an E-Comerce website designed to help you promote your online buisness/Store. The product tour does a nice job explaining what is offered.
After spending more time on the website, what did you like/dislike about the website?
I liked the design, layout, detailed information about what the product does. I also thought that the FAQ page was well worded and there were many different questions. Â I disliked that the some of the FAQ answers were really short, no user reviews, and that the try the product option for free was really small and on the bottom of the page.

This is great for people that already have a business up and running and just want to make there site look better. If I was in the market for software like this i would probably sign up for the starter shop package since it seems to have everything I would need.
What is your impression of the website?
It has a simple layout.Everything is in large lettering so no straining.Orderly layout.
Do you understand what the website is about?
It is for promoting one’s website to genarate more sales.
After spending more time on the website, what did you like/dislike about the website?
The infomation may not be enough if one trying to learn more about them. For example when one is doing reseach. Not very detailed.

Definitely something to look into in the future if one is starting a websites.I hope they will be around long.
Visit https://turnkeyshop.com. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page. What is your impression of the website?
The website was quick to load and looks professionally designed, however, on first glance it is not obvious what the website is about until you start reading the text.
Do you understand what the website is about?
On first glance it is not obvious what the website is about, but after reading the homepage I understand. The website is offering information on shopping cart software available for purchase through the website.
After spending more time on the website, what did you like/dislike about the website?
I liked that the website was quick to load and that it looks professionally designed. The images, colours and fonts look good, I especially like the fonts used as they look nice and sharp. The product tour page was excellent, lots of information available about the product with images and animation.
I was a little disappointed that is was not obvious what the website was offering in the initial few seconds of browsing the website. In the middle of the homepage it says ‘TurnkeyShop Setup’ and when you hover over it changes colour and gives the impression that it is a clickable link, this is a little frustrating.
Please create a FreeShop by clicking the Sign Up Today button then clicking the “Try TurnkeyShop free†link under the pricing matrix. Was the ShopBuilder easy to use?
The ‘Sign Up Today’ button at the top pricing page was a little frustrating as it was only clickable on the bottom half of the button and it just took you to the page you were already on. The ShopBuilder was quick and easy to follow and overall the experience was positive.
Please provide any additional comments on the ShopBuilder/sign-up process.
The preview of the website was in a rather small window and to see it all you had to scroll a lot, this was rather frustrating as you could not get the full picture of the website easily. It also looked like there were adverts on the preview website which put me off the look of the page. It was also a bit sluggish to use and the scroll bars didn’t always work well. Once I visited the full site it worked fine.
Did you find the welcome email helpful?
The welcome email was very helpful as it was full of useful information to help you with your new website. However, it did look a little bland; perhaps it needs a bit of colour added.
What do you think of the shop’s admin interface? Was it easy to use?
The admin interface was clean and simple. The options available were clear and easy to change.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
Overall the experience was positive.
Using Safari an FireFox on OS 10.6.8
Visit https://turnkeyshop.com. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page.
What is your impression of the website?
First impression of the site based on the 10 second glance of the homepage is that the page offers services for businesses who are looking for a quick, already-made templates and purchasing services they can use to sell products online.
Â
The “Product Tour” page gave a very good account of what services are offered. It is well laid out in a sensible order and I feel fully explains the functions of the site.
Â
The sign up was fairly easy, though the ‘Free Sign Up’ link was not overly easy to notice (of course, wanting to make a profit, you want people to buy premium services and not free ones!). Â After sign up was a bit confused as to where to go… (see Like/Dislike below for more about impressions of website)
Do you understand what the website is about?
The product tour gave a very good description regarding what the site is about. It is a services page that offers online sales and transactions services for businesses wanting to sell online but not have to create from scratch their own sales site.
Â
After spending more time on the website, what did you like/dislike about the website?
Dislike: I found more things then I wanted to to dislike about this site….
Â
This first thing that I found that I disliked was the sign-up link for the free sign up. It was small and none to easy to notice. Make it larger, or integrate it with the pricing matrix display.
Â
I kept getting a ‘Please Fill The Fields In Red’ pop up when trying to complete my sign up. However, I saw no fields in red. Â I played around a bit with filling my passwords in wrong or not at all to see if a red window or box or underline would show up, but none did. On the plus side, the Pop up did tell me that the passwords did not match.
Â
The preview window after sign up kept going blank and reloading, preventing me from seeing what the preview may look like.
Â
No link to your finished site after signing up. I was left wondering “What now?” and “Where do I go to upload my products?” Â You should either have a link at the bottom to your site for sign up, or a message at the bottom that an email has been sent to you with a link to login to your site to modify it.
Â
Finding out how to add products: The link for this needs to be more visible. The first link I found for this was a fair bit down the page, because the top menu bar isn’t eye catching and too easy to ignore (I did notice after that it did have a ‘Add New’, but then some of that felt ambiguous in the pull down–in fact, I don’t even think after playing with it for 20 minutes, that none of the options there are for adding new products).
Â
I could not access the Members area. It did not recognize my user name or my email. Is it for paying members only? Or is it not set-up yet? I think this made it difficult to seek out information on how to best use the site.
Â
Top menu bar needs to be more visible. The grey/white is easy to ignore.
Ambiguous menu tabs. “Posts” gives the impression that it was for adding comments/blog somewhere, and not for posting products. Media had me thinking that is was for offering video help or to post video commentary about your site and not to review the images you have uploaded to show your products. The “shop manager” link is same as the Posts link–redundant.
While creating a product page, it was a pain to have to click Upload information for every information attributes section I filled out. Some product attributes need more information, such as weight (you have ‘weight (in)’ — have a menu with the weight attributes on it such as ‘grams, pounds, kg, ounces, etc’). you also have product weight twice under the ‘product code, weight tax’ and ‘product attributes’.
The “attributes values setting” section is a bit pain– you should have really 5 attributes values and then a + sign to add more if needed… as it makes one feel that they need to fill out 10 attributes without really knowing what attributes should be added.
Text was small for the products menu attributes. Make it bigger!
After creating a few products, found that the ‘Posts’ menu contained the items posted. However, the menus were small. Bulk Action title a bit ambiguous.
See general comments for more.
Like: I am finding it hard to find things I like with the site outside of the general concept and services that it aims to offer. Some things feel overly complicated/ambiguous in their titling (but I will try to find things to give a thumbs up to).
Â
Besides the Product Tour, other things that i found as nice features of the site included the template selection and colour selection options. Of course, these are limited at the moment (there was only one template there), and you will need to increase the diversity of your template options, but having that potential for personalization is a good start. NOTE: Finding out that there were more themes after logging into the my administration area was a nice surprise, but would have liked to see them while signing up.
Â
The first administration ‘Help’ menu in the administration area was alright for general explanation on what was on the page. It should have pointed out more about what some of the menu tabs were for. The link to the addition wiki style help pages should be bigger/more noticeable.
The pull-down help menu helped at times explain what things were, even though at times it is not overly helpful in explaining how to use it. The help links in those pulldown menus where much more helpful, but a bit of a pain in having to open new pages all the time in order to figure things out.
The “widgets” under the “appearance” menu tab. A bit difficult to use and understand at first but nifty once you figure it out.
The “Sales” page layout (my online store). Of course, trying to get your page organized to look good is a pain, but once it is done, it does look good.
Please create a FreeShop by clicking the Sign Up Today button then clicking the “Try TurnkeyShop free†link under the pricing matrix. Was the ShopBuilder easy to use?
It was fairly easy to sign up. As noted in Like/Dislike, not having a link to your site to sign in or a notice saying that an email was sent containing you login information left me wondering what was next after signing in. You really, really need that piece of information or people may give up there and go somewhere else.
Â
Please provide any additional comments on the ShopBuilder/sign-up process.
Again, the need to let us know an email was sent.
Did you find the welcome email helpful?
It did provide some information. Should have been a PDF file, as it was a pain in the rear to read in the email browser, and to allow quick saving outside of the email browser.
What do you think of the shop’s admin interface? Was it easy to use?
The interface was a bit difficult to use. See Dislikes and Additional Comments below.
Â
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
In placing a few products on my page, I noted that none of them had any preview image when I visited my ‘store’ page, even though I made certain to allow preview images.
Â
Generally speaking, the site administration pages need some major refinement. The biggest problem is with the ambiguity with your titles. While “Add New” is fairly straight forward, it doesn’t seem to have any ‘Add New Products’ options. The only place I found an Add New Product (titled “Add Physical Product”) option that clearly stated it was for adding a new physical product was in the FAQ area at the bottom of the page. Apparently, “Add New Post” is for adding a new product, but it appears to be for just adding a blog, because the menu for selecting the category is off to the side and easy to ignore. Should move it to under the text bog and make it bigger. This is where my complaint about ambiguity comes in. “Add New Post” gives the impression that it is meant for blogs and not for products (as does the whole ‘Posts’ side bar menu). I recommend having an ‘Add New Product’ menu separate from the Posts menu, dedicate it to new products, and have a ‘New Blog’ and ‘New Comment’ links added to the Posts menu, and have those dedicated to just Blag and Comments, instead of trying to do everything through one link with an off to the side, easy to pass over category menu.
Â
The Media link is a bit of a wonder. It seems to be just for the images for products you uploaded. What bothers me is that when looking at posts, these images do not appear with the products in the post menu, but they shown here. I uploaded a photo file but it was not attached to anything. I tried to attach it to a page and a post but no pages or posts showed up in the attach option.
Â
“Shop Manager” link led to the ‘New Posts’ set-up. Why this redundancy? Also, the title ‘Shop Manager’ gives the impression that it is for managing the site’s payment links/payment options selections etc. By the way, where does one put in his or her account information for payola and other transactions?
Â
Too much ambiguity. Honestly, your site is a pain to use at the moment because as noted, your titles and the methods of setting up a page to sell products are a mess. It feels like I am doing too much work to set things up. I have been to much simpler and easier to use sites that offer the same thing. Even after using it for a while (I think I spent two hours playing around with your site and almost ran out of time to post this!) and getting use to how it is set up, it is still a pain.
Â
Â
There is potential, but at the moment, you need to refine some things to make it more user friendly. While your help wiki is good and helpful, it doesn’t make up for the problems listed above.
Oh, and how does one remove his or her store? Â https://useless.turnkeyshop.biz/
added note: I have to laugh.. there was less then an hour left when I hit the post button, and then, after the page reloaded, it told me there was one day and less then an hour left. Had I known, I would have spent a few more hours on the site trying to work it out…
Visit
https://turnkeyshop.com . Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page.
Done.
What is your impression of the website?
I would like to have seen a more information about what your site does. When I first visited your area on the startuplift page this is what I saw, “TurnkeyShop provides a fast, low cost, powerful solution to selling online.” But… when I got to your sites pages I was like where is that lovely quick and descriptive tagline about your site. I like the color choices and that there doesn’t seem to be an overuse of them. You have a very simple layout that’s easy to follow.
After spending more time on the website, what did you like/dislike about the website?
As far as the pictures on the homepage, I wasn’t to fond of the lingerie ladies (not sure who might be selling or looking at your site) and I wasn’t sure of what the other picture was. I know this might seem maticulous but people look at that and use that as a reference point as to what might be sold on your site. On your homepage you have a featured section. Why is that so small? You have quit a bit of space between the grapic itself and the view tab. It’s hard for me to know if I want to veiw it because it is so small. Under the benefits section on the homepage I am curious to know why you chose to go with the blue font color instead of keeping with the black form the previous section. Both the featured and the benefits section seem like they would visually fair better if you would center them, delete some of the that dead white space and as I stated make the graphic bigger. I would like to have seen some thicker lines used on the homepage. Because there is so much white space using a bold line would have the illusion of space being occupied and would create some well defined borders. I like that you have your social networking information at the bottom of the page in plain view but not pulling the focus so much towards it. The tabs at the top of the page seem to be a little off in their shaping. It seems like that may have been done on purpose but in general it looks like a layout graphic error. I like that you put your most needed information on the tabs but I would like to have seen a contact tab as well.
Your pricing page is beautifully executed and it was a good stratgy to put the setup fee as you did. Your prices are reasonable and I like that you direct user to the tour at the bottom of the page. I would like to have seen each section of the blue and green just a hair darker as not to seem so similarly light compared to the white. Again great use of your sites existing colors. The reddish colors really stands out as a visually focual point/ header.
The product tour page started off visually just as good as the pricing page. In your tag line poweful, flexible and now, I would consider putting a period after the powerful making it three bold statements. I also see for the first time that you offer a basic store for free and that those plans on your pricing pages are considered premium packages. I understand that you want to make money but I think that your might be loosing out on potential users by ot mentioning that anywhere else being that you put packages right on your homepage. **As I scrolled down the question list I went back to pricing page and I see that you have the free info at the bottom of the pricing list. Clever positioning keeping the focal point on the paying package.** The scrolling side bar information is a little annoying. As I scrolled down I went from happy to sad when I saw all that info to read. This is not the product tour I imagined. The list seems to go and on having to read every aspect of the tour. It’s not captivating and the screen shots are not clear at all. I just felt as though I was reading a never ending list of features but in a not to fun way. I don’t see why a video was not created justing using the info of features you have with clear screen shots. I don’t think it would have to be a step by step video but if you say it’s setup in just 5 minutes a video would compliment that slogan nicely. I would aslo consider just putting the social networking icons in full view to have a more finished appearance. I think that you could work that the scrolling section to your advantange and make the product tour page seem shorter buy having the info pop out or just by putting the tour and key features on two separate pages.
Nice blog and faqs page.
Please create a FreeShop by clicking the Sign Up Today button then clicking the “Try TurnkeyShop free” link under the pricing matrix. Was the ShopBuilder easy to use?
Since I could see the layout theme I would like to have been able to see the color palette I chose. I don’t see the point of allowing user to choose a layout theme if that is the only option under the free account. Everything was quick fast and easy but unfortunatly I wasn’t able to preview my store.
Please provide any additional comments on the ShopBuilder/sign-up process.
Â
After the process was done I was unsure as to what to do. I see that you mention the members area but how do I get there. Again not being able to view my store left me wondering if it was done. Is it possible to change the color palette? Why cant I click on the members area header and be taken right to it? Again I have no ide where to go next. I see no home button and if I go back won’t that take me to right back to the setup? This portion is really disappointing. You get your users all excited and then nothing. I wound up clicking on your turnkey header and was sent back to the homepage where again I had no clue as to what to do. Finally I see the Members area tab at the bottom of the page. This is a key tab it’s almost like the login so why is positioned at the bottom? Then when I click on the members area I have to type in my username which I dont remember being asked about. I read the email and it my business name which is not the same as a preselected username. As a business I wouldn’t want my business name to also be my username. I would like to have had the option of picking them separatly. Okay…I see that I have to register my info which is not confusing. I can build a store before I even register? Im typing in info getting frustrated as to why nothing is happening. Then after I register I’m just whipped right the sign in page. This is starting to get overwhelming and tedious.
Did you find the welcome email helpful?
Somewhat. I don’t see the point to putting all the some info into my email from the members page.
What do you think of the shop’s admin interface? Was it easy to use?
Â
It just looked like a long list of things to do. The setup was easy now here comes the work. I don’t understand why you have the same list basically side by side. If I can click on one I really don’t need the other.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
If this will be your usual signup process then it needs to be simplified ten fold. I felt like I was pulled in with the idea of quick set up and boy was I wrong. A video, samples, pop up step by step list would have been really helpful. I felt like after I did the intial setup I was on my own to to just read and go through a large list of task to get the store ready.  Three words… user friendly setup. Great idea nonetheless.

Although I do appreciate the time you took and the feedback you have given, I don’t agree with some of the items you mentioned as issues. Even though some of the feedback did address some valid points a lot of what you said didn’t exist is already there.
I guess what put me off to start with, was how you named your shop “useless” and gave it a title of “Useless Junk”. To me, this seems like you had a negative outlook towards the product before you even began using it.
So to address the items that you say are either not there or are confusing:
On the confirmation page we give a summary of what you just built which includes the URL (or address) to the shop.
The confirmation page also states that you will be recieving an email shortly containing your webstite details.
You can easily add products under the ShopManager in the admin area by clicking “Add Product”, there is also a link in the Shop Setup FAQ on the dashboard.
As for the membership area, there is a link provided in the welcome email and you must use the invitation code to register.
As I stated previously, I appreciate your time and feedback. Thank you.
I think you should show more of a variety of pictures of different types of shops, and make them a little more legible. I think that would attract more attention. The processes were very easy, and I liked the fact that your website wasn’t overly “busy” and confusing.
Hey Jay,
Sorry the title of my page ‘Useless’ put you off. It is not, of course, aimed at your site. It is simply to give a clear message that anything on my test page that I set up is not taken seriously by anyone who may visit it (at the same token, keep in mind that you may have people with all sorts of titles for their ‘shops’). That, and if someone really wanted to sell Useless Junk through your site and they paid for your services, would you complain? ;o)
I have tried several times to log into the members area. I think my problem was that I didn’t see the link to register and the invitation code. I saw the link to “Members Area” right away and assumed that my store log in would work for that. Which makes me ask, why have someone register again for the members area if they already set up and registered for a store? If the members area is meant for people with a shop on your site, is it really necessary for that second registration? Â That, and maybe put the invitation code in Bold on the email.
I have gone through again and created a new page.
Again, I was not allowed in and got the “Address the fields in Red” without any fields in red appearing (you should note that password needs to be 6 letters or more).
I think my problem with the Finish page on the store builder is that the Shop URL isn’t linked. People like links. Also, Preview didn’t work (on Safari or FireFox– Mac Issue or not yet set-up?). I think expecting those things and wanting to see the preview (big preview button that doesn’t show me a preview) was enough to make me get easily frustrated and not pay attention to the rest of the page. Keep this in mind, as I am certain that there are other people like me out there who will get frustrated at that as well. Â As well, the link provided goes to the store, not to a log-in page for administration (though that is provided in the email, I think providing it on the Finished page would be a good idea).
I am still finding the Administration area with a redundant/doubled links, and still feel that the titles of some of your menu items are confusing and give the impression that they are for other things then they really are.
While it is true that you have a Product Type Settings under the text window for ‘Add New Post’ when selecting ShopManager, because you have to scroll down to find this, the immediate impression is that it is for posting a Blog. When going to the ‘Post’ menu and selecting ‘Add New’, the Product Type Settings isn’t there, even though when you click on ‘ShopManager’ link it shows on the page that you are on the ‘Add New’ (as ‘Add New’ turns BOLD when the page reloads) page under Post (the URL is different). Shrink the size of the Expandable Text box in the post areas so that the ‘Product Type Settings are seen on the screen without scrolling down so people go ‘Ah-ha!’ right away without going ‘Umm, what?’ first and spending a few seconds or more wondering if they are in the right place.
In regards to the above issues with the ‘Shop Manager’ menu. It took ten clicks before the Shop Manager menu to pull down to reveal that there was a whole whack of options. Every time I clicked it it led directly to https://useless.turnkeyshop.biz/wp-admin/post-new.php?ptype=prd and did not reveal a pulldown menu. It was not until clicking links in the FAQ on the dashboard page that I realized it was a pulldown menu. It only pulls down if you click on the little down arrow. Fix that so that clicking anywhere on the window pulls it down. Again, I am not sure if this is just a Mac Safari issue or not. It is also why I couldn’t find the PayPal information, etc. as commented in my original post (and why it caused a fair bit of frustration for me and maybe confusion for you in wondering ‘What the heck is wrong with him that he can’t find that?’). If you want, I can do a screen recording of this and send it to you.Â
I think, to really use and understand the site, one has to read a lot from the Help and Codex pages (especially in trying to figure out what Slug is for in Screen Options!! Not everyone is a webjocky). I think, if I had spent a few hours (not trying to sound like I am exaggerating here) to really read through all things instead of diving in head first, maybe things would have been a bit smoother to use (still would complain about the ambiguity of some of your Menu titles!).Â
Again, sorry if my site title put you off. I hope some of the things I found (especially the problems I had with the ‘SiteManager’ menu and it not pulling down unless I carefully click on the down arrow) help you greatly.
Best of Luck,
Lostness (the seller of useless junk, but hopefully a giver of (some) good information!)
p.s. I do know what Slug is (a few word describing the page)
p.p.s. At least you know I set up a page and put something up for sale and really did go through everything to set it up, even if it was useless junk I was selling.
Hi Lostness,
Just to note that you did have some very valid points. It was great feedback and I appreciate it. Sometimes when you use/develop the software you make that assumption that it’s easy to use and everyone should know what to do. 🙂
Some of the items I don’t have control over in the way they work due to the software we are using. But maybe having more educational information may help.
Again thank you for taking the time to do this and provide your feedback. There are definitely items you provided that we will put on our list to either fix or change.
Thanks for your great feedback and time.
No problem Jay…
hopefully you will get it all fixed up!! Again, I think the biggest thing I got hung up on was that issue with the SiteManager menu tab and it not pulling down as it should… when it did (with only pressing directly on the down arrow) it revealed a whole new world!
And remember, some idiot like me is someday going to use your site, so you better make it easy for him! 🙂

Visit https://turnkeyshop.com. Spend no more than 5-10 seconds on the home page.
What is your impression of the website?
Easy to read Home Page but a 5 minute Set Up is completely untrue.
Do you understand what the website is about?
Yes, the marketing language is clear and the icons are interesting although not necessarily tied to the words, for example, a bar code icon for “Optimized for SEO” and scissors with a % for “Promotional tools…” doesn’t really fit.
After spending more time on the website, what did you like/dislike about the website?
It appeared to be a quick and easy process to begin a free website but the terms and conditions did not have a hyperlink so I had to click on the link at the bottom of the page and when I went back, all my information had to be typed in again. Some of the terms are absolutely anti-customer, such as the “no refund” policy.
Please create a FreeShop by clicking the Sign Up Today button then clicking the “Try TurnkeyShop free†link under the pricing matrix. Was the ShopBuilder easy to use?
Yes, but only a few templates to choose from and the color drop down does not work well. Site isn’t really built until a person would add products and it’s not all that straight forward on how to edit the site. It seems like it would be cheaper and easier to just create a WordPress site without the TurnkeyShop interface.
Please provide any additional comments on the ShopBuilder/sign-up process.
Terms and conditions are terrible. Only online email support is less than ideal so I’d never use this service.
Did you find the welcome email helpful?
It had enough information but I couldn’t get into the members area. It provides the user name, but not the password. I tried to click on “forgot password” and it gave an error message.
What do you think of the shop’s admin interface? Was it easy to use?
Couldn’t log in without password and it would not take my password.
Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.

Color Pallete drop down has no option. Only six theme options for free website. All the themes were nicely displayed when selected. Funshop theme displays a “0” for the “primary color”; others display “Default” and Shopfront theme shows “blue.”
FreeShop allows only ten products and 5 mb storage.
Using WordPress (shop admin = shopname.turnkeyshop.biz/wp-admin) to provide this service seems a bit unethical considering hosting accounts are much less than the TurnkeyShop monthly fee and WordPress is easy to use. GoDaddy has about the same type of pricing and is easier to navigate and offers more templates.
I’d give this a 3 out of 10 with 10 being the highest rating.

Dear lisamiller602,
Â
I’ll start out saying “You can’t please everyone all the time” or “different strokes for different folks” or well I think you get the picture. Nobody is perfect and we don’t claim to be.
The 5 minute setup is not completely untrue. If you were to setup a hosting account, install a program and find a template (one that has ecommerce functionality) or have a custom one built will take you a lot longer than 5 minutes. It’s very feasible that you could have a few products installed and payment processing configured as well with our service in that time frame.
Â
Our terms are not anti-customer as you claim. We provide a fully functional free shop for an unlimited time which gives customers ample to to try out the service to see if it’s for them. Other companies that have similar services as us, typically only give you 15 days to try the service out then you have to pay. Our service is monthly and can be canceled at any time, there are no contracts.
Â
If you feel that you have the ability and time to create an ecommerce website with all the functionality that we provide then the service is probably not for you. But if you want a quick and easy way to get up and running and don’t have the time do that, then the service might be what your looking for.
Â
As for the members area, there is a link on the confirmation page which will populate most of the form’s fields for you if you choose to click it. Or the welcome email has detailed instructions on how to sign-up for it and clearly states that you must use the invitation code to register.
Â
Unethical, really? I think that’s a strong accusation. So your saying that every service, plug-in, addon, etc. for WordPress is unethical? I guess I just don’t understand your logic on that.
Â
Yeah there are other services out there just like anything else. Some people will like one over the other.
