About Verbally:
Verbally is the first free iPad app from Intuary, and it provides a complete assistive speech solution that enables conversation for those that have lost the ability to speak.
When someone loses their voice due to disability or injury, it is incredibly debilitating. The person often shuts down and withdraws from society & loved ones. The products that help these people cost in the $5-$15K range and are very complex. Intuary was formed to create an iPad application to bring these people back into the conversation, to reconnect with the ones they love.
There are other such apps for the iPad, but few are designed for adults wanting to have a conversation, and even fewer are free. Verbally applies the best practices of user interface & visual design that were introduced via recent innovations in the Web 2.0 & Mobile spaces. The app is meant to be appealing & easy, yet powerful.
What I thought about the site was that it did not have a whole lot of information, but it is a good idea to have a free app for disabled people to stay in touch with their family even if they cannot talk.
No I do not know where to get the product, I know that they indicated that it was a free app. But for the brief time, you would not learn a whole lot on that site.
I went back to the site, and what I thought about the page was that it did not have a lot it wasnt creative to make really think that I or one of my family members just had to have it. I probably would not even tell anyone about it.
I would not verbally tell anyone and I would not tweet about it because I dont have a twitter account, but if I did it probably would not get a second thought I am sorry, just being truthful.
I was first put off by the black colouring of the site. I believe it is not a colour that should be used if you wish to create a professional site.
It was very clear what the product is for as it is explained on the left hand side. I initially had no idea where to get it or how much it costs.
I went back and looked at the about verbally page and found that the writing is very bland and doesn’t entice me to consider buying it, although the idea is a good one.
Again, the black seems to rule the page and is a negative in my book.
I wouldn’t tell others about it or consider tweeting it because I don’t believe the site does the product justice.
I am a writer myself and I also do website design so I am probably looking at it with a more critical eye than the average reader as well.

Immediately upon visiting your site I gathered that it was about utilizing an “iPad” apps as a form of commuication based upon the words below the logo, “Start a Conversation” and the huge photo image of an “iPad” with someone touch typing. Also, the fact that your home page wastes no time informing visitors that Verbally iPad app is a “complete assistive speech solution for creative communication” is a huge plus. Individuals can focus on other facets of your product having a clear view about what it does.
From the brief time on the site, do you know where to get the product? How much it costs?
The whereabouts for getting the product, Verbally, was not easily detected in contrasts to the costs, which was initially introduced on your home page as being the “first free iPad.” Even though the link entitled, “get verbally” at the top, right-hand side of the website caught my attention as the location that would provide me with the information on how to get the product, I felt misled when the link presented me with a free download button for “iTunes 10” instead of “Verbally”. Since “iTunes play a significant part in receiving the free product, “Verbally”, in my opinion, this fact does not stand out at your site. Therefore, where to get the product will make it a difficult find for visitors.
Now go back to the site. What do you think of the About page?
First of all, the About page does an excellent job of listing “key” questions that I believe most people would ask regarding, Verbally. And second, in addition to making the questions bold that can quickly be spotted, I appreciate the responses that get directly to the point without being too wordy.Â
On the other hand, there are a few adjustments that I would like to suggest in regard to your About page. To begin with, since the link on the home page states, “about verbally”, then, that should be the very first bolded statement on the About page. So, I would remove the “About Intuary” section located at the bottom of the page and place it above the first bolded question, “What is verbally?” Next, I would rename “About Intuary” to “About Verbally (Intuary)” and as an addition to the section, include something about the founder of your company, when it was established and how the product came into existence, which I feel is a primary concern to the consumers.Â
Perhaps, a photo of your company’s building, the founder or group of individuals connected to creating the Verbally iPad apps would be more appropriate instead of another visual image of the “iPad” that already exist on the home page and the “Help” section, listing its’ special features.
Any other comments on the site?
The home page is in great form. It has all of the right elements and color to attract attention. In addition, the “about verbally” page with some of the adjustments mentioned and the “help” section appears to be sufficient toward successfully promoting your iPad apps product, Verbally.Â
However, when it comes to the “get verbally” page I would like to suggest that the page begins with a catchy phrase such as “Have Itunes – Download Verbally by Intuary Now” and then, provide the download button. On the same page, just below the aforementioned catchy phrase add, “Don’t Have Itunes – Install It Now; add a button that says, “Install Itunes”.Â
Personally, I feel that setting up the “get verbally” page, in this manner, would eliminate any confusion about what other application is needed in order to obtain “Verbally”.
Would you recommend Verbally to others? Tweet about it?
Yes, I would recommend Verbally to others solely based upon two factors: (1) It is especially designed to benefit individuals who are disadvantaged due to various health issues that prevent them from speaking and thinking normally and, (2) Besides people who are disadvantaged it is a great apps tool for practically anyone seeking another way to stay in touch with people, family and friends.
Also, being a “Twitter” account holder I strongly believe that “tweeting” about Verbally is the best way to reach millions of people about this effective communicative application, which is in my opinion, a valuable social networking product for keeping close contacts.

From my brief review, I think it is a site that helps users to “speak†if they do not have the capability (i.e., they have lost their voice).
From that brief time on the site, do you know where to get the product? How much it costs?
I know that it’s a free download available for download on the iTunes app store.
Now go back to the site. What do you think of the About page?
I think it gives a comprehensive overview of what Verbally does. I immediately understood how it takes what the user is typing, and turns it into “speech.â€
Any other comments on the site?
Very easy to navigate and visually clean. Unlike some websites, I had no problems finding information (such as whether or not the app is free), and how it works.
However, I wish contact information for product support or questions were more emphasized. It would also be nice to include a product demo, with the male and female voices used in the app, on the website, in addition to the screenshots.
Would you recommend Verbally to others? Tweet about it?
I don’t know anyone personally with speech/voice problems, but I’d highlight it on a Facebook or forum posting (I do not have a Twitter account). However, if I did, I’d tweet about it, too. It seems to be a creative, convenient and cost-effective solution to something that a number of people struggle with.

When I opened the site, at first glance it was an eye opener but had to really look at it to actually see what the site was all about. The picture of the Ipad overpowers it.
From that brief time on the site, do you know where to get the product? How much it costs?
No. I couldn’t see where to get the product and how much it would cost.
Now go back to the site. What do you think of the About page?
The About page is just right. It has enough on it to tell you what it is the kind of app that is presented here. At first glance of the home page, one of my thoughts were that this looks expensive and then was surprised in learning that the app was free.
Any other comments on the site?
I think that some of the information on the About page should be transferred to the Home page to catch the attention of the visitor but not too much. The price of the app (free, for instance) might be a nice touch.
Would you recommend Verbally to others? Tweet about it?
Yes, I would. I, along with my friends, like apps that can make life easier and simpler.
