Note to Feedback Providers:
Please note that businesses are looking for in-depth feedback that gives them thorough, insightful and actionable input. A ‘superficial’ submission that does not add value, is not thorough (i.e. written in a hurry, with poor grammar, punctuation etc.) and does not offer any concrete, constructive feedback is not helpful and will be rejected.
Feedback sought:
1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
2) Do you understand what this product does by visiting the home page in a browser? How about a phone?
3) Are you encouraged to (create a new account, subscribe, sign up for a free trial, etc.)? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
It is a very visual website with a great idea behind it. Requesting and uploading videos for travellers with an assigned time slot. One can select any destination as the search bar suggests.
2) Do you understand what this product does by visiting the home page in a browser? How about a phone?
It is pretty self explanatory. I would have wanted to learn more about the auction and how it functions – it is not very clear, in my opinion.
3) Are you encouraged to (create a new account, subscribe, sign up for a free trial, etc.)? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
I would sign up as I find it a great idea. After all it gives the viewer a visual access to a destination.
4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
This is the website I have visited. https://www.tourvideos.com/
I prefer Vidpal because the information is well organised throughout the page, whereas the tourvideos offers too many detail, cramped into one page. The layout is also rather old fashioned.
Vidpal offers a fresh perspective.
5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I would look for guarantee that the quality of the uploaded videos is high.
Also there is the question of privacy.(censoring, human faces and confidential items to be blurred out)
1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
It looks professional and the very first thing I saw was the map with lots of videos. I understood from the home page that videos can be requested or see featured videos or the website’s picks. The background colors are a bit simple with just white/grey and blue.
2) Do you understand what this product does by visiting the home page in a browser? How about a phone?
No, I wasn’t sure from the home page what the product is or everything that it offers. I had to read a bit by going to the About link.
3) Are you encouraged to (create a new account, subscribe, sign up for a free trial, etc.)? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
Yes, I would create an account because it seems like a very interesting website where I could participate on bids and also view a lot of locations from one place. It looks like an exciting community which I would like to join.
4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
I found https://www.tripfilms.com/
I prefer https://vidpaltravel.com because it’s a more complex website. It offers a lot more than just seeing videos and uploading travel videos. It offers videos on request and the map makes it very easy to find videos for specific locations and check out places.
5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
The homepage could be a bit more clear on what the product is in just a few terms (e.g. see the world or any location instantly in videos, request videos, upload videos). Or just a simple phrase which contains main things that the website offers, preferably at the top of the homepage.
Perhaps some more color on the homepage.
1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
I see a very large map, not sure immediately what the site is for so I would have to look around and do some reading.
2) Do you understand what this product does by visiting the home page in a browser? How about a phone? Yes, I see that I can upload videos and get paid or I can search for videos and pay for them. Videos of different destinations.
3) Are you encouraged to (create a new account, subscribe, sign up for a free trial, etc.)? Can you tell us why (or why not)? No, I didn’t see anything that encouraged me. I do see a section at the top that shows where you can sign up/sign in, but other than that, I really don’t see anything sticking out at me to take further action. However, after reading your “About” section, this is very interesting and something I would enjoy getting involved in.
4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which on do you prefer? Why?
I did some searching but really didn’t find another company that offers similar service, only thing close looked like travel wizzard website. I would prefer Vidpal because it appears to be much easier to locate a certain destination and I like the fact that a few small dollars can help those that are poverty stricken.
5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
I would have liked to see a brief section explaining at a glance what the site is for and how I can benefit from it without searching the whole site and then finally clicking on the “About” section. I guess what I mean to say is it would be much better if there was at least a Header at the top of the home page explaining briefly what the site is about.
Overall, I did enjoy looking around and I think this site could certainly benefit a lot of people.
1) Look around the home page – what is your initial impression of what you see?
My first impression that this site is about New York City. The colors are good. The site looks professional. It’s full screen.
Looking a little deeper, there is a map with arrows, most in Manhattan, but a few in Brooklyn. I look to the left sidebar and see that the arrows are videos. What are these videos about and why should I care? I clicked on a couple of videos, which were interesting but I still don’t know what the site is about.
I played a bit with the search field and typed in coffee and saw Millcreek Coffee Roasters in Salt Lake City. I clicked on it and got a SLC map, but no video. I guess this site isn’t only about New York City. Is it the entire US or is it the world?
And I can see from the navigation bar that there are live auctions. Auctions for what and why?
Scrolling down I see that there are videos for Starbucks, needing footage for the Grand Canyon, and wanting to know people’s favorite places to eat.
Other than that, I have no idea what this site is about.
What are the auctions for? What am I bidding on?
It generally helps to have some description at the top of the page, describing the purpose of the site. Maybe a very clear tagline. Maybe a video describing the site. Maybe a slider.
2) Do you understand what this product does by visiting the home page in a browser? How about a phone?
As stated above, no it is not at all clear. It has videos and auctions.
“How about phone?” I presume you wanted me to visit the site on my phone. I like that there are photos. I see “contestant entry” with a number. And I am clueless as to what this is about.
3) Are you encouraged to (create a new account, subscribe, sign up for a free trial, etc.)? Can you tell us why (or why not)?
I might . . . if I understood what the purpose of this site is.
4) Go to search engine of your choice and find one other company that offers a similar service. Compare the two companies. Which one do you prefer? Why?
This is rather challenging, since I don’t understand what your site is about. I decided to look for a website that features sites in New York City. I went to a website called TimeOut.com—more specifically a sub site: https://www.timeout.com/newyork/attractions/new-york-attractions. The navigation bar lists a variety of different types of things to do: theaters, restaurants, art, music, shopping. Below it has other kinds of categories such as: The best free attractions and the 50 best sites and attractions.
TimeOut.com makes it much easier for me to select what I want to do or see.
But it doesn’t speak to the auction or contest aspect of vidpal.com. But since I don’t understand the purpose of that, I don’t know what to search for. Sorry.
5) Please share any additional feedback/comments you may have.
First time visitors are estimated to spend a total of 6 seconds on a website. That is all the time you have to get them interested in what you do. Please, given them an idea of what you do.
Maybe this is a trending kind of site that I’ve not heard of. Maybe everyone else viewing the home page, gets it. But I don’t. Tell me what you’re about.
Please, tell me why I should want to join your site. What need/want are you fulfilling? How are you serving me? What do I get from the auctions?
I can see that if I explore the site more thoroughly and click on auctions in the navigation bar, I get the page that is the mobile home page. I can view videos and maps. I clicked on the video for one entry. It was 9 seconds long. It told me nothing.
