You are definitely on the right track and, I think, you could make it a little easier for first time visitors if you came up with a slogan, tagline or question that would help to acclimate visitors to what they are seeing.

What do you find bothersome? What do you like?
Pros
* The basic layout of the timelines are very easy to follow, easier than the other timeline sites I’ve visited.
* The graphics and videos are a great for all of us visual people.
Â
Cons
* I cannot see the entire width of the home page with out scrolling.
* I see that the date bar on the bottom enables a person to move through time. However, I did not see the button initially. Maybe this could be some other color other than gray that stands out more.
Are you encouraged to try building a timeline
* I am using timelines to help people achieve their goals, so this is a real possibility
Â
Is building a timeline easy?
Yes. And it does enable going into the future, as well as the past, which would be a big help for my purposes.

General suggestions/feedback.
I realize it is more work, however, I would consider changing the timeline on the home page so it reflects current events. For instance, having Steve Jobs’ timeline on the home page. It is certainly likely to work well with SEO. And could get you more visitors.
Â
Technical
* Zoom in and out buttons aren’t working for Michael Jackson.
* And is Steve Jobs’ timeline was moving by itself. I was looking at semester at Reed College and it kept bouncing back to Steve Wozniak. And I can only see the button on the date bar when the timeline is full screen.
* Reset password has an error message
* There doesn’t appear to be a way of deleting an account
* When switching to another page, the menu bar temporarily breaks into its various components, i.e., Home is all one line and Browse is all one line.
* When click on an date item, the expansion (pop up) isn’t always entirely visible unless I scroll across the timeline.
